A/N: heh... it being the beginning of May, like, maybe... the 10th? Well, the 10th at the end of this chapter, the part when Lucky realizes at the end. But I kinda forgot Lucky still had school. Let's say she gets her school work along with her Princess work. or... maybe she could have transferred... though more paperwork for her XD poor Lucky if I decide that. Though... it may be easier though if she did transfer. Though Pyro will have to have a foalsitter. Bad Machine could be her foalsitter, though she'd have to be warned about his other side. Ugh, well if I did that, then i'd have to edit the past... 3? chapters. It would take forever... i'm not doing that, so let's just say Lucky has her schoolwork mailed to her and she does it before her Princess work and she mails it back. XD i'm lazy yes lol. Well, on with the chapter. Oh wait... Sweetie Belle too, they both are in their last year of school ^^ they'll be graduating soon. Ooo, graduation chapter will be coming up ^^ i'm looking forward to that :D also, I guess I will try to go on with this story... Chapter 54: Pyro's Speech Lessons and Sweetie's Surprise
Pyro was playing with her toys as Lucky did her Princess work and school work. Sweetie is keeping an eye on Pyro. After a little bit, Pyro stopped playing and looked up at Sweetie. "Sweetie, I wanna speak wike you and Pwincess Wucky... can you teach me?", Pyro asked. Sweetie blinked, then smiled gently. "Ok, I can teach you. Hmm, how about we start with your name first?" Pyro smiled happily and nodded. Sweetie sounded out Pyro's name slowly and Pyro copied. Pyro still had the little thing with her speech and she looked down disappointed. "Don't get discouraged Pyro. It'll take a while before you can actually say it like everypony else.", Sweetie said. "K." They practiced for a while longer. Eventually, which was at supper time, "Py-ro Heart. Py-ro Heart. Pyro Heart... I did it!", Pyro exclaimed. Lucky and Sweetie smiled, "Good job Pyro!", they said. "Ok, next word... Princess.", Sweetie said. Pyro nodded and started practicing, though not talking when she has food in her mouth. Lucky made sure to teach her that.
When it came bedtime, Pyro was still practicing, but Lucky told her she had to get to sleep as she tucked her in. "K... but I will keep pwacticing tomowwow when I wake up." Lucky chuckled. "Alright. Night Pyro.", she said. "Night Pwincess." Lucky went to her own room and got in bed. The next morning the older ponies were up and getting breakfast around. They could hear Pyro coming as she was practicing the word 'Princess'. Lucky chuckled and Sweetie giggled. "So, I was gonna ask you Sweetie, want me to come with you when you ask the manager at the restaurant for your job back?", Lucky asked. "I can handle it Lucky, thanks though." Lucky nodded. Sweetie magicked Pyro into her booster seat and pushed the chair in. Lucky served breakfast. Afterwards, Lucky took care of the dishes and Sweetie headed off to the restaurant. Lucky continued her Princess and school work, while also keeping an eye on Pyro. When Sweetie arrived at the restaurant, before she went in, she took a deep breath. When she opened the door, she was met with very few glares, but she stood proud and went to the manager's office.
She knocked on his door. "Come in.", he said. She went in. He looked up and got a surprised look on his face. "What are you doing back here?", he asked. "I've come for my job back, I'm pretty sure you heard Lucky's speech yesterday. All of Equestria heard it." The manager looked super surprised. "She can project her voice that far?", he asked. "Yeah. She is a Princess after all. She could project her voice to other countries if she wanted to." The manager looked impressed. "It's just impressive she can do that cause she's young yet. I thought she'd have learned to do that in a couple years. Well... if I employ you again, I may lose some customers.", the manager said. It seems he accepted Lucky's speech enough to talk civilly to Sweetie and possibly accept her back. "I only caught a few glares, so if I come back, you won't lose too many customers. I'm pretty sure you'll still get enough bits in." The manager seemed to think about. "Well, I'll think about it and get back to you. How about you come in later? I'll have my answer then."
Sweetie smiled happily. "Thank you for at least thinking about it sir. I'll come back later." Sweetie then went out and back home to tell Lucky. "Hmm... she seems to be a good pony. She's very respectful. Maybe Princess Lucky is right... just because they are what they are, doesn't mean they're any different from other ponies.", the manager said. When Sweetie got home, "Lucky guess what?", she said. Lucky looked up and grinned, "You got your job back?", she guessed. "Unknown, but he said he'll think about it and get back to me later, there's a chance I could get it back." Lucky squeed, then blushed, but still hugged Sweetie. Sweetie giggled at the blush because of the squee. "This is awesome! I really have a feeling you might just get it back.", she said. "I think I might too. Only way I'll know for sure is when I go back." Lucky nodded, then she went back to her Princess and school work, finishing it in a couple minutes. She put it in the mailbox after taking out her mail. "It seems I got some mail back from the others in Ponyville, Cloudsdale, and Canterlot.", she said, opening them all at once and reading them one by one. She chuckled.
"They're apologizing for sending out their thoughts like they did. Nopony knew though that everypony was going to send their thoughts at the same time. Well, Pyro, what do you think about us three going to the park?", Lucky asked. "Yeah! Can I bwing some toys wiff me Princess? …. Oooo, I said 'Princess' wight!", Pyro said. Lucky and Sweetie smiled. "Good job.", they said. "How about now you say 'Lucky'?" Pyro nodded and started practicing 'Lucky'. "As to your question, you may bring 2 toys with you.", Lucky said. Pyro nodded and thought about what two toys she wanted to bring with her. She finally chose two and the three went to the park. Pyro went to the sandbox and Lucky and Sweetie sat on the bench watching over her. After a little bit, hooves covered Lucky's eyes. Sweetie giggled. "Machine, I know it's you. I can feel your presence remember?" He chuckled. "You got me, and I did forget.", he said as he came around the bench. He looked normal, when he saw Pyro was with them, he changed his appearance to what it was when Pyro met him. "So, out for a walk Machine?", Lucky asked. "Yeah, then I saw you two and figured of course Pyro would be with you and figured I would come over and say hi and probably spend a little time with you."
Lucky nodded and she and Sweetie made room for Machine. He sat next to Lucky. "Pyro is getting lessons on talking like us, like without her little foal speech. She started yesterday. So far she can say Pyro Heart and Princess. She's starting on Lucky now.", Lucky said. "Nice. Seems she's learning pretty fast.", he said. "Yeah, she practices saying the words every second so she's definitely getting enough practice.", Sweetie said. They talk for a bit and then Pyro comes up to them with her toys and sets them on Lucky's and Sweetie's laps. "Oh hi Machine. Princess, Sweetie, I can say 'Lucky' now! Gimme anuffer word to say.", Pyro said. The three smiled. "You're doing amazing Pyro, keep up the good work.", Lucky said. Sweetie then thought of another word for Pyro to practice. "Hmm, how about 'like'?" Pyro nodded, told them she'll be on the playground, then went over to there all the while practicing the word 'like'. The three watched very closely now, cause she's only 3 and the playground is pretty big. "I keep meaning to ask, why does Pyro have a ring on her horn?", Machine asked.
"That's a magic nullifying ring. She gets these magic bursts when she gets a strong emotion and it sparks and makes whatever the sparks land on catch on fire. When she gets old enough, somepony is gonna teach her how to control her magic.", Lucky explained. "I see. Wow. Well, she lives up to her name then." The other two nodded. They talked for a little while longer, still keeping an eye on Pyro, who is now trying to reach the monkey bars. Lucky stands up, she has a feeling Pyro might fall. Lucky trots over to Pyro just as Pyro jumps. Sweetie and Machine quickly stand up. Lucky gallops and just reaches Pyro, who lands on her back. Lucky had literally dove so she landed on her stomach. "Owww..." Sweetie and Machine breathe a sigh of relief and sit back down. Lucky stood back up. "Careful now Pyro. If you can't reach something, ask for help. Do you want to try the monkey bars?", Lucky asked. "Yeah.", Pyro responded. "Ok then, ask for help first.", Lucky said. "Princess, will you help me?", Pyro asked. Lucky smiled. "Yes, I will help you." Lucky magicked Pyro off her back and into her forelegs, where she holds her up. "Reach out your forelegs and grab onto the first bar.", Lucky instructs. Pyro does that.
"Now reach out for the second one with one of your hooves." Pyro does and can't reach cause of how short her forelegs are. Lucky steps forward a little and Pyro lets go of the first completely and grabs the second with one hoof. "Keep reaching out for the next bar with only one hoof, but you can't reach with the same hoof, use your other one." Pyro reaches with the other hoof and Lucky steps forward. "You keep alternating hooves, like, you reached with your right hoof then your left, now reach for the next with your right, and after that one, reach for the next with your left, then right, then left, and so on. You keep doing that cause when you're big enough, you have to do that to keep your momentum going. Meaning, well, to actually do the monkey bars, you have to swing your body to reach the next bar. That's what makes you be able to grab onto the bars that are in front of each other. The swinging gives you enough momentum to grab the next bar. Think you understand what I mean?" Pyro looked like she was thinking hard on what Lucky was trying to explain. "I tink so."
"I really don't know how to explain it so a 3 year old can understand it... sorry." They reach the end and Lucky puts Pyro on the ground. "Well, with help, you did it. Very nice." Pyro smiled proudly. "Princess, I wanna go on the swing now, will you help me?", she asked. Lucky smiled, "Thank you for asking, and yes I will help you." They went over to the swings and Lucky put Pyro on a swing. "Hold onto the chains tight." Pyro does and Lucky starts pushing the swing gently. "Lucky's pretty good with that filly isn't she?", Machine said. "Yeah, she is. Pyro likes her pretty well too.", Sweetie said. Then Sweetie noticed Machine was starting to not look too good. "You should get going Machine. We'll see you another time." Machine nodded and bid Sweetie goodbye and asked her to tell Lucky good bye too. Sweetie nodded and returned the salutation. Sweetie went over to Lucky and Pyro. "I'm going to go back to the restaurant and see if the manager made up his mind yet.", she said. "Ok Sweetie, good luck.", Lucky said. "Good luck Sweetie.", Pyro said. Sweetie smiled. "Thanks you two. Oh, and Machine had to go back home. His other side was starting to show. He said to tell you good bye Lucky." Lucky nodded, "Ok, thanks for telling me." Sweetie nodded and told them she'd see them later. They nodded and she went off. "I weawwy hope she gets it back. She woved working dere.", Pyro said. "Yeah, I hope so too, but I think she might get it back."
"Yeah, maybe." After a bit, Pyro was getting tired of the swing and she got off. "I'm getting hungwy. Is it wunch time?", Pyro asked. Lucky checked the position of the sun. "Yeah, it's lunch time. Hey, wanna go to the restaurant that Sweetie went to to get her answer? We can surprise her and she can give us the answer over lunch." Pyro grinned. "I like dat idea... ~gasp~ ooo, I said 'like'!" Lucky grinned. "Awesome. I can give you the next word. How about 'really'? That's a bit harder, but I think you can do it. You've been making great progress so far.", Lucky said. Pyro nodded, then started practicing as they walked to the restaurant. As they walked in, Sweetie was just about to go out the door. "Oh Sweetie, so, did you get your answer? If you did, tell us over lunch. We were gonna surprise you by coming here for lunch and you walk out and see us. Guess it didn't happen that way." Sweetie giggled. "Well, I appreciate the effort anyway. Sure." They got a table and a waitress came up to them. She was civil with them at least. Lucky ordered a hay burger and horseshoe shaped fries and a water, Pyro ordered a small quesadilla and milk, and Sweetie ordered a tomato and lettuce sandwich and water.
The waitress took their order and brought it into the kitchen. They talked for a bit and when they got their food and ate a little of it, "So, tell us. What was his answer?", Lucky asked. "He said after much thinking, he decided losing about, 6 customers, wasn't too bad, so he said that I'm rehired." Lucky punched the air. "Yeah, congrats Sweetie, that's awesome news.", Lucky said. "Yay!", Pyro said. Sweetie was definitely happy. "He's pretty civil, so maybe he might accept us or your speech just made him be more civil because you are right. We need the same respect as everpony else here.", Sweetie said. Lucky nodded. They finished their lunch and paid and left a tip for the waitress and they headed back home. "I'm gonna write to the others back home about the good news. Especially to Aunt Rarity and your mom and dad. They'll be so happy to hear that you've been rehired.", Lucky said. Sweetie smiled and nodded, thinking that was a good idea. So when they got back, Lucky wrote a few letters and when she was done, she put them in the mailbox after taking out the mail delivered to her. More Princess and school work of course. The Princess work never ends. She got a start on the paper work.
Pyro kept practicing with Sweetie on trying to say 'really'. Come bed time, Pyro had not gotten it yet. She's a bit frustrated. "Don't worry Pyro. I did warn you it'd be a little harder. You'll get it.", Lucky said. Pyro only nodded and settled into bed. "Good night.", Lucky said. "Night.", Pyro replied. Sweetie also said good night and Pyro said it back. In the morning after breakfast and after Pyro got her bath, Lucky started back on her Princess and school work. Pyro went to play with her toys and Sweetie got in the shower. Lucky then randomly realized something. "Oh shoot... I need to get your paperwork... like your birth certificate and stuff. I think I should do that now while I have it on my mind. You can come with me if you want.", Lucky said. "Where will we go?", Pyro asked. "The court to get a grant for me to access that information, then to the jail so I can ask your ex-parents where they have the information, then to the place they have it. Think you can stand to be at the jail for like, 2 minutes?", Lucky asked.
"I guess...", Pyro said. "If you can't, you don't have to go with me.", Lucky said. Pyro thought a bit. "I'll go Lucky. I wanna walk pwaces. See more of Hoofington. I always was at da park when da DMS was at deir meeting pwaces.", Pyro said. "Wow, you actually called me Lucky and not Princess. Well, alright, if you're sure." Pyro nodded definitively. Lucky went to the bathroom door. Sounded like Sweetie was out of the shower. "Sweetie, Pyro and I are headed out to get her papers, like her birth certificate and other stuff. We'll be back later.", Lucky told her through the door. "Ok, I have work anyways tonight, so I'll see you later tonight a little after 9, or tomorrow morning if you're asleep by then.", Sweetie said. "I will stay up and be in the living room awaiting your arrival." Lucky chuckled a bit. Sweetie grinned. "Alright. Then see you later tonight.", she said. "Yup. Have a good day at work.", Lucky replied. "I will, thanks." Lucky then took Pyro out and to the court to get a grant for her to access the information she needs for Pyro.
A/N: ok, I will stop here so that I can not exceed 5 or 6 pages. I'm on the end of the 5th page now, and if I continue, it most likely will exceed the 6th page, so i'm making a new chapter. Jeez, 55 chapters. Well, the next chapter I will work on after this is the 55th chapter, but still! XD I have sooooo much creativity in me lol. Well, hope you liked this chapter. Pyro is so cute lol. Her little speech, though I do understand her wanting to speak normally like Lucky and Sweetie. She's the only one with the little speech thing and she feels like an outsider, though she doesn't know enough words to say she feels like that, but she does feel something even though she doesn't know how to put it. XD this author's not went to the 6th page lol. Well, forgetting that, on to the next chapter lol.
