Chapter 57: Pyro's Surprise
When Sweetie Belle got home, Lucky was still sleeping. Machine had told Sweetie this and Sweetie nodded and said she'd be quiet. Pyro had also gone to bed. "I think Lucky has fought some DMS members and gotten roughed up.", Machine said. "Oh, ok then. Is she ok?", Sweetie asked. "Yeah, she's fine. Just some scrapes and bruises. Nothing major." Sweetie sighed of relief. "Good." Machine smiled and agreed that it was good that Lucky only got out of that with only minor injuries. Well, I'll see you some other time Sweetie Belle.", Machine said. Sweetie nodded and bade him good night. He returned the 'good night'. Sweetie quietly went into her and Lucky's room. Lucky stirred a little. "Sweetie, is that you?", Lucky asked. "Yeah, it's me. Did I wake you?", Sweetie asked. "Eh... maybe? I dunno.", Lucky said. Sweetie shook her head and sat at the edge of Lucky's bed. "So, what happened? Did you catch any of the DMS?", Sweetie asked. "Yeah, two." Then Lucky began telling her all that happened. After she was finished, "Oh wow. Well, at least you can hopefully prevent that from happening... I'd like keep this world intact.", Sweetie said.
"You mean 'we'. You hope we can keep the splitting up from happening. I'll need your help. I think we need to do this together. You and I, I think we can achieve great things together. When the time comes, I'm pretty sure I'll know when it comes that we need to keep the DMS from splitting up." Lucky then sat up and leaned into Sweetie. "I will need your strength too. There are things even I cannot do by myself. I may be an Alicorn and a Princess, but... I too can succumb to weakness and need help. That's where I'll need you. Sweetie Belle, will you promise me, no matter what, you'll always be there for me?", Lucky asked, looking at her. Sweetie nodded. "Of course Lucky. I promise." Lucky smiled at her and nuzzled her. "Thanks. I promise you the same thing as well. Hey, I have an idea, maybe we can signal each other by beams of magic with our cutie marks so that we know one of us needs the other. I can signal your cutie mark to call you and you use my cutie mark to call me.", Lucky said. "Oooo, yeah. That sounds really cool... but how will we learn to do that? Actually, who can do that kind of thing?" Lucky raised an eyebrow. "Do you really have to ask that? Aunt Twilight knows tons of magic. It's her special talent after all. If she knows a spell like that, she could probably teach it to us."
Sweetie facehoofed. "Duh... why didn't I think of that? I've even known Twilight longer than you, even though it wasn't for too much longer." Lucky grinned at Sweetie. "Silly filly.", Lucky said. Sweetie playfully stuck her tongue out at her. Lucky chuckled. "Well, I should get my Princess work done and you should get some sleep. I'll see you in the morning ok?", Lucky said. Sweetie nodded and hugged Lucky good night. Lucky went out to the living room and got started on her Princess work. After she finished, she put it in the mailbox. At 6 AM, Sweetie got up. Lucky told her she wanted to go to the park by herself and Sweetie nodded, understanding. Lucky flew to the park. Then she walked in the park. She needed to clear her head right now. She's thinking too much about work and catching the DMS. She wants some distraction. Lucky got thinking. Maybe she could take Sweetie on a date? Well... maybe not... Sweetie is an adult now and Lucky herself is still underage... Lucky thought that wouldn't be a good idea... if only they were the same age... Lucky sighed. She had to wait two dang years... She hated being younger than Sweetie.
They were together, with Lucky's parents' approval and Sweetie's parents' approval, but they couldn't do anything more than cuddling. After that thought, Lucky thought maybe she could teleport to Twilight's place and Twilight could come back to Hoofington with her and Twilight could teach Sweetie and Lucky to do cutie mark light signals, that is if Twilight herself knows a spell like that. Lucky decided to do it. She teleported back home. Pyro was just coming out to the kitchen and Sweetie was getting breakfast around. Lucky smiled at Pyro. "Morning." Pyro smiled back. "Morning.", she said. "I'm gonna go to Ponyville and bring Twilight here. If she knows a cutie mark light signal spell, she can teach us.", Lucky said to Sweetie. "Ok." Lucky then teleported herself to Twilight's library. Twilight was up. Lucky went into the kitchen and found Twilight there. "Hi again Aunt Twilight.", Lucky said. "Morning Lucky. I heard you teleport. Did you undershoot your distance again?" Lucky shook her head. "Do you know any cutie mark light signal spells?", she asked. Twilight looked confused. "Why?", she asked.
"Because I had an idea. I would eventually need Sweetie Belle's help with the DMS, and I will need to signal for her when that happens. If I use a cutie mark light signal with my magic, then she would see it and would know I need her help... though, if she's at work, she may not be able to see the signal. Hmm, then a spell for me to communicate with her through telepathy? She can anyways with me, as I can read minds and receive thoughts from anywhere in Equestria. I could use a spell for her to be able to receive my thoughts to her. Yeah, a spell to enable her to receive my thoughts. Know any?", Lucky asked. Twilight shook her head, "I don't think so, but I may have a book on a spell like that." Twilight took Lucky out to the library and they both looked through books until Lucky found one. "Found it. Hmm... I think I can do this. May I bring this book with me?", Lucky asked. "Of course. It's due in two weeks." Twilight then went behind her counter and took the book really quick to take out the date card and put the date it's due on it then stuck the card back in it's pouch. Twilight then recorded what book it is and who checked it out.
"I'll probably have it back tomorrow or later today. Oh, maybe I could visit the school and turn in my school work if I come back later today. Miss Cheerilee will be surprised. Maybe Sweetie could come too, and maybe Pyro. Pyro could meet her future teacher. I bet Pyro will love that. But... then I'll have to teleport three and I am definitely not gonna do that. Aunt Twilight, could I use this spell on you first? Then I can send you my thought when it comes time for me to come back?", Lucky asked. Twilight nodded. Lucky then looked at the spell and studied it very hard. She studied it until about 8 in the morning. Then she felt confident enough to try it. "Ok Aunt Twilight. Relax your mind. This spell needs full concentration from the recipient of it. Especially because I will need to send my thoughts to you as I'm doing it and you need to concentrate on receiving them." Twilight nodded, then she relaxed, physically and mentally. Lucky closed her eyes in concentration. She focused on giving Twilight the ability to receive her thoughts. Twilight focused on receiving the thoughts and focused on this spell being cast on her. A couple minutes later, the spell ended. 'Aunt Twilight, can you hear me?', Lucky thought to Twilight. Twilight's eye widened in surprise. Lucky grinned. "It worked!", Lucky said.
"Congrats on the spell work Lucky. Now, let me know when you're coming later. Good luck with casting the spell on Sweetie. Though I know you won't need it. You already practiced it on me with success." Lucky grinned, nodded, and bade Twilight goodbye. Then she teleported back into her apartment. "Sweetie, I had an even better idea." Lucky then told Sweetie about the spell she had cast on Twilight. "Oh wow. That is a good idea. Thankfully it worked on Twilight." Lucky nodded, then told Sweetie to do the same she told Twilight to do. Sweetie nodded and did as she was told. Then Lucky cast the spell on Sweetie. Of course it worked. After, 'Sweetie, can you hear me?', Lucky thought to Sweetie. Sweetie beamed. She was thrilled she could hear Lucky. Lucky grinned. "Success yet again. Awesome. Now, to get my breakfast." Lucky got her breakfast around and got to eating. "Dat spell was really cool Princess.", Pyro said to Lucky. "Thanks Pyro, and I have a surprise for you. You'll have to wait until a bit later though." Pyro looked excited at the idea of a surprise for her.
Lucky got her Princess and school work, the school work for her and Sweetie, and got started on the school work. Sweetie did as well. When they were done, Lucky sent out her thought to Twilight. 'Hey Twilight, Sweetie and I are done with our school work. Could you come over to our apartment?', Lucky thought to Twilight. 'Yes, I can come. I'll be there in a sec.', was Twilight's reply. So, in pretty much no time at all, Twilight was there with a flash of light. "Twiwight!", Pyro said. "Ooo, is dis your surpwise Lucky?" Lucky smiled and shook her head. "Your surprise is coming very very soon though. Aunt Twilight, could you teleport with Pyro? I'll teleport with Sweetie Belle." Twilight nodded. Pyro, confused, went over to Twilight. Sweetie went over to Lucky. "Oh, Aunt Twilight, here's the book back too.", Lucky said, giving her the book. Twilight nodded and took it, then said, "Relax ok Pyro? This will be a shock, but you'll be just fine." Pyro nodded. She trusted Twilight. Twilight then teleported, as did Lucky. They both appeared in Twilight's library. Sweetie actually landed outside the library, a few feet away. Sweetie trotted over to the door and inside the library grinning. "Not too bad Lucky. I landed just a few feet outside of the library." Lucky grinned sheepishly. "Well, better than last time.", she said. Sweetie and Twilight giggled.
"Where are we?", Pyro asked. "We're in my Aunt Twilight's library in Ponyville, where I usually live with my parents.", Lucky said. "Oooo, can we see all of Ponyville?!", Pyro asked excitedly. "After I give my school work to Miss Cheerilee, my and Sweetie's teacher. In 1 year, your teacher too." Pyro's face just lit up with super excitement at that information. Lucky grinned. "Let's go den!", Pyro said, heading for the door. "Wait for us Pyro. Thanks Aunt Twilight, we'll be back later.", Lucky said. Twilight nodded. The three went out to the school. Along the way Lucky saw Vinyl, Octavia, Lyra, and Bonbon. "Hi everypony.", Lucky said. They looked her way and smiled. "Hi Princess, back already?", Vinyl asked. "Nope, well, kind of. I'm here to hoof deliver my homework to Miss Cheerilee. This is my young friend Pyro Heart, who I am actually taking care of until I do come back for real. My parents will take care of her until I become old enough to. Pyro's parents are a part of the DMS, well, Pyro's not really their filly anymore. Pyro decided she didn't want to be the daughter of two very bad ponies and she wanted only me to be her caretaker. She did agree to my idea of my parents becoming her caretakers when we come back to Ponyville.", Lucky said.
"I see. Very smart filly.", Octavia said. "Yeah... dey were bad. Dey told me ebewyting about what dey do. Dey won't be good ponies so Princess Lucky put dem in pwison.", Pyro told them. "Her speech is so adorable!", Lyra said. Sweetie smiled, "Isn't it? But Pyro wants to talk like how big ponies talk, so I'm giving her speech lessons, and Lucky occasionally gives her a word or two to practice.", Sweetie said. "Well, I can understand. Being around all the big ponies who talk normally is a little intimidating.", Bonbon said. The others nodded in agreement. "Well, we should get going.", Lucky said. The others nodded and bade the three goodbye. Lucky, Sweetie, Pyro kept going on their way to the school house. When they got there, it just became lunch. "Hello everypony.", Lucky said, peeking her head in. Everypony looked over and were surprised to see Lucky and Sweetie. Lucky and Sweetie went in, Pyro following them. "Aww, that little foal is so cute.", Silver Spoon said. "What brings you two back and who's this little one?", Miss Cheerilee asked. "We're here just for the day, we're going back to Hoofington this evening. We're here at the school to hoof deliver our school work." Lucky and Sweetie got out their school work from their saddlebags and handed them to Miss Cheerilee.
Lucky then whispered to Pyro, "Introduce yourself, meaning, say your name." Pyro nodded and said to Miss Cheerilee, "I'm Pyro Heart. I'm 4, so I'm too young to come to school, but in a year Princess Lucky said I would come here. You're Miss Cheewiwee?", Pyro asked. A collective 'awww' at Pyro's way of saying 'Cheerilee' from the young mares in the class. Even Miss Cheerilee thought that was adorable. "Yes, I am. Nice to meet you Pyro. I'm looking forward to having you in my Kindergarten class next year.", she said. Pyro smiled. Lucky then explained why Pyro's with them. The class and Miss Cheerilee were surprised at the information, but they understood. Lucky would be the first pony to have quite the impression on Pyro as the only good pony Pyro's met, and in a 3-4 year old mind, that foal would likely want to be with that pony and not anywhere else. "Well, we'll get going now. Pyro is going to get a tour of Ponyville.", Lucky said. "Ok. Nice seeing you Lucky, Sweetie, and nice meeting you Pyro.", Miss Cheerilee said. The three nodded and said goodbye to everypony and left. Then Lucky and Sweetie gave the tour to Pyro. After the tour, Lucky gave a telepathic message to Twilight saying they're ready to go back to Hoofington.
When they got to the library, Twilight was waiting for them and then Twilight and Lucky both teleported back to the apartment with the other two. "So, how did it go?", Twilight asked. "Pyro absolutely loved the tour and seeing the school house where she'll be going next year.", Lucky said. Twilight smiled. "That's good. I should get going." The three nodded and Lucky hugged Twilight. "Thanks for your help Aunt Twilight.", she said. "You're welcome. Bye everypony." Then Twilight teleported to her library. Lucky then started on her Princess work. Sweetie got ready for work which was not too long from now. Pyro just played with her toys.
A/N: ugh... my creativeness is slipping... I swear it is... though, it could be because now working on multiple stories. Two I am typing, this one and my revision of Turning Into a Good Girl, which is now called Amaya's Reformation, and a multitude of other ones which I am writing in notebooks... :/ ~sigh~ well... the end of this chapter sucked, but hopefully the rest of it didn't :/
