A/N: yahoo! chapter 60! ^^ unfortunately this chapter, instead of a graduation chapter, became a chapter about Pyro :/ I was going to make ch 60 a graduation chapter, but... X.X didn't happen. Next chapter, I promise. Also, sorry for the long wait. Writer's block sucks :/ plus I got the Sims 4 game for my laptop and so I have been playing that all the time XD it's awesome, I love it ^^
Chapter 60: Invitations and Pyro's Tantrum
Lucky and Sweetie Belle have now traveled to Ponyville with Pyro so that the two can take their finals. They need to be in the school house this time instead of their apartment for their school work. Tomorrow is Monday, the first day of their finals. Sweetie and Lucky are getting the last of their studying in. Sweetie's boss let her go back to Ponyville for her finals, so he knows. Lucky has to balance her studying with her Princess work, of course. Princess work never stops. Though, after her Princess work, she started making invitations for her graduation. One for each of her camp friends, Thunder, Lightning, Citrus, of course they'll be bringing their foal, who is now 2 months old, so she's walking and talking in one word sentences now, the Cakes, they'll be bringing their twins of course, her Aunts, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, Babs, Granny Smith, her biological royal family, Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Shining Armor, and of course they'll be bringing their daughters, Aphrodtie and Skyla, Terra, Golden Knight, Harper, and even Golden Quill and Broad Sword, Bonbon, Lyra, Derpy, Vinyl, Octavia, Candy Floss, Bad Machine, of course she's gonna invite her old foalsitter.
She wouldn't want him to miss her graduation, he'd been in her life ever since she'd been born, and she's also inviting Lavender Mint. They had become good friends over time, before she went to Hoofington. So, as she's making invitations for them, Pyro went up to her. "What'cha doin' Lucky?", she asked. "Making invitations for my friends to come to my and Sweetie Belle's graduation.", Lucky said. "Gwaduation?", Pyro asked. "It's where Sweetie and I complete school and can now be in the real world with a job and eventually a place of our own and a family of our own, of course, eventually. You're also invited to our graduation. As you do live with me, I don't need an invitation for you, or my ma and mom, as I am back with them, for the time being.", Lucky explained. "Ooohhh, ooo, can I help you wiff the invitations?", Pyro asked. "Sure, you can decorate them, though don't decorate where the words are. Everypony needs to see what the cards say." Pyro nodded and grabbed some crayons and decorated the cards that were done. Applejack and Rainbow came in the door from work. "Howdy pardners. What're y'all doin'?", Applejack asked. "Just writing invitations for everypony to my and Sweetie's graduation.", Lucky answered. "Pyro too?", Rainbow asked. "She's just decorating."
"Oh. Ok." Applejack got supper and Rainbow helped Lucky with the invitations. By the time they ate supper, more than half were done. "How about you take a break from working Lucky? You've been writing for a long time. I'm surprised you don't have magic cramps.", Rainbow said, then chuckled at her joke. "Very funny mom. I'll take you up on the offer though. I think I will take a break." So they ate and they all watched tv until it was Pyro's bedtime. "Um... where is Pyro gonna sleep?", Lucky asked. Applejack and Rainbow looked at each other. "Um...", they said. Lucky shook her head. "Hmm... well, I suppose she could take my room, I can sleep on the pull out bed from the couch.", Lucky said. "You sure? I can sweep on the couch.", Pyro said. "Yeah, I'm sure. Mom, ma, and I will be up for a bit longer and it'll keep you up if you're out here.", Lucky said. "Ok den." Lucky and Pyro went to Lucky's room. Lucky picked Pyro up and tucked her in. "Good night squirt.", Lucky said, as she nuzzled the small filly. Pyro kept silent of surprise, then smiled and nuzzled back. "Night Princess." Lucky went out of the room, shut off the light, and shut the door. She went back into the living room to two smirking moms. "What?", Lucky asked.
"We heard what ya called Pyro. Ya haven't called her that yet have ya? She didn't say anythin' back fer a bit.", Applejack said. Lucky shook her head slightly. "I think you're becoming more like a mom to her now Lucky. You're getting those maternal feelings like I did when you lived with me for a while when you were 5.", Rainbow said. "But I can't... I'm only 16, and yeah, you were a year older than I when you adopted me, but that's just it, you were a year older than me. You were 17, I'm 16. I just can't yet. I need to be older.", Lucky said, adamantly sticking to her idea of needing to be much older to be motherly to Pyro. "You can't help your feelings or instincts Lucky. Having had that filly with you in that apartment of yours has made your maternal instincts kick in. It just comes naturally, even if you don't want them to. Just face it Lucky, you have those maternal instincts for that filly and you can't get rid of those instincts. You can wait to adopt her but you can't help but be a mother to her, especially knowing she has no parents anymore because they agreed to make her an orphan and you being her primary caretaker, as well as Sweetie when she's not at work.", Rainbow said.
"Very well said Rainbow.", Applejack said. Lucky groaned softly and looked down, thinking about what her mom said. After a while, "I... I guess... I guess you're right...", Lucky said. "Glad you see it how it is Lucky. I suppose Sweetie might be missing the little filly by now.", Rainbow said, as a soft knock was heard. "Come in Sweetie.", Lucky said as she unlocked the door with her magic. Sweetie opened the door. "Sorry to intrude so late, is Pyro asleep yet?", she asked. Lucky nodded, Rainbow and Applejack, once again, smirking. "What's with the smirking?", Sweetie asked. "Their just smug that they're right... we both are feeling our maternal instincts kick in, having had a 3-4 year old filly with us a while. Same happened to mom when I stayed with her a while when I was 5.", Lucky said. "R-Really? Maternal... instincts?", Sweetie asked. Lucky just nodded. "Oh boy...", Sweetie said, taking in the new information. "You said it.", Lucky said quietly. Applejack and Rainbow went to bed to let the two talk and snuggled as they fell asleep.
"Well... what do you feel about these maternal instincts Sweetie?", Lucky asked. "Hmm... well, it makes sense." and Sweetie pretty much said the same thing Rainbow said, about having an orphaned filly in their place a while and the instincts being bound to come out sooner or later. Lucky sighed. "That's what mom said..." Sweetie giggled. "Really?" Lucky nodded, then pulled out the bed from the couch. There was already bedding on it, and of course it's a double bed. Lucky grabbed two pillows from the closet. "You're staying the night, right?", Lucky asked, plonking both pillows on the bed. "Yeah, I am." Lucky locked the door with her magic and laid on the bed, her back to Sweetie. Sweetie laid on the bed too, her back to Lucky. "Night.", Lucky said. "Night." the next morning everypony woke up at the same time. Pyro saw Sweetie and smiled happily. "Hi Sweetie Belle! I missed you wast night. I was hoping you would come ober.", Pyro said. Sweetie smiled. "Yeah, I came over. I missed you too kiddo." Pyro stared in surprise then smiled a big smile. "So, Princess Lucky, can I still help you wiff the invitations?", Pyro asked. "After breakfast.", Lucky said. "I know, dat's what I meant." Lucky grinned.
"Then yes." Pyro hopped a couple times. Everypony got breakfast, Applejack and Rainbow went off, Lucky and Sweetie assumed they were going to work, but they actually are going to Twilight's and Pinkie's to tell them of Lucky's and Sweetie's new maternal instincts.

They had arrived at Twilight's and Pinkie's and knocked. Pinkie answered in about 10 seconds flat :P "Hi Applejack, Rainbow! Come in! We're just having breakfast.", Pinkie said. "Oh, sorry 'bout that. We have some news though. Twilight, think you can send a letter to Rarity and Fluttershy of what we're about ta tell ya?", Applejack asked as they arrived in the kitchen. "Sure.", Twilight said. AJ and RD let the two have their breakfast though before telling them. After though, Twilight got a paper, quill, and ink and dipped the quill in ink. "Ready.", Twilight said, going to be writing as AJ and RD tell them. "Well, last night as Lucky was tucking Pyro in, she called Pyro something she never called her before. Don't worry, it's not bad. She called Pyro squirt. And this morning, Sweetie called Pyro kiddo. Both Lucky's and Sweetie's maternal instincts kicked in after having an orphaned filly living with them a fair amount of time, I think.", Rainbow said. Twilight and Pinkie looked surprised. Then Twilight wrote down what Rainbow had just told her. "This is very surprising to hear.", Twilight asked. "Yeah, Ah know. Ah was surprised at first too, but then Ah got over the surprise. Rainbow actually even let Lucky know what Lucky was feelin' towards the little one. Lucky refused ta believe it, but after a bit o' talkin' to, she agreed.", Applejack said.
"Yeah, and Lucky told Sweetie about that, and that Sweetie has maternal instincts for Pyro as well. Sweetie was surprised at hearing that at first, but then after thinking, she got used to it.", Rainbow said. "Hello.", Lightning said. Everypony looked over to the door and saw Lightnng, Citrus, and Neon were at the doorway. "Hi guys. What're you talking about? We could hear much discussion.", Citrus asked. Twilight told them what Applejack and Rainbow told her and Pinkie. Lightning is surprised. "Oh wow. So, do you think Lucky will adopt her sooner than planned?", she asked. "I don't think so. Though, you never know. She could think about what was told to her and possibly consider doing what AJ and I did when she was 5.", Rainbow said.
"Well, I guess we'll find out eventually.", Citrus said. The others nodded. "There, got it written down, now for Spike to send it." Twilight went to wake Spike up to send the letter. "Howdy there Neon.", Applejack said. "Hiiii.", Neon said. Applejack and Rainbow chuckled. "Hey, Ah'll bet Lucky will wanna see Neon now. She hasn't seen the little one since the day she was born.", Applejack said. "Very true. Shall we go Citrus?", Lightning asked her husband. "Sure.", he said. They bid Pinkie, Twilight, Applejack, and Rainbow good bye and went to the apartment where Lucky and Sweetie were studying and Pyro was playing with her toys. "Princess.", Lightning said sing songy. Lucky looked up. "Lightning!", Lucky said and went up to her and hugged her. "Hey, how's the little one doing?", Lucky asked. "Very well.", Lightning said. Lucky looked in the stroller. "Hey there Neon. Oooo, she has pretty light green eyes. Just like your eye color Citrus. May I hold her?", Lucky asked. "Sure.", Lightning said. Lucky gently picked Neon up and held her. Lightning corrected how Lucky held her. "Neon, can you say hi to the Princess?", Citrus asked. "Prin...cess?", Neon asked. "Yeah, Princess.", Lightning said. "Leader?", Neon asked. "Yeah. Did you teach her what a Princess is?", Lucky asked Neon's parents. They nodded. "I see." Pyro then went up to Lucky. "Is dat a baby?", she asked.
Lucky smiled gently. "Yes, this is a baby. Her name is Neon Flash. This is my best friend Lightning Sky, who is Neon's mama and Citrus Blast right there is Neon's papa.", Lucky told her. "Hi. I'm Pyro Heart. Princess Lucky is taking care of me because my real pawents are Dark Magic Squad members and dey're in jail and dey said I can be taken care of by Princess Lucky.", Pyro said. "So this is the filly you're taking care of?", Citrus asked. Lucky nodded. "She's so cute.", Lightning said. "Yeah. She's learning how to spell and write and how to talk like us older ponies.", Sweetie said. "Really? How's that going?", Citrus asked. "Very well actually." Lightning and Citrus looked impressed. "Can I see da baby?", Pyro asked Lucky. Lucky sat down on the couch very carefully and put Pyro on the couch by her magic. "Now be very careful. Babies are very sensitive. That means that she can be hurt easily." Pyro nodded. "She's really cute. She's really tiny." Lucky grinned. "Yeah, you were this tiny when you were a baby too. Even I was this tiny. I can show you a picture of me when I was a baby. You would never think I could have been that tiny by how tall I am now. Sweetie, could you please grab my photo album from my room?"
"Sure." Sweetie then got up and got then photo album and flipped through until she found Lucky's baby pictures. Lightning and Citrus looked too. "Awwww, you were so adorable!", Lightning and Sweetie said. "You were so cute Princess!", Pyro said. Lucky blushed lightly, then Neon copied the older ponies, Pyro included in the older ponies comment cause she is older than Neon, and said, "Aww" as well. Everypony chuckled/giggled. "Oh, I have an invitation for you both." Lucky then searched through the invitations with her magic and when she found theirs, "Pyro helped me decorate the invitations.", Lucky said. Citrus took the invitation in his lime green aura. He opened it and smiled. "Very nice. Thank you Princess. We will be there.", he said. Lucky smiled happily. Neon yawned. "Lucky, think you could rock her gently, or do you want me to take over?", Lightning asked. "I can do it.", Lucky said. Lucky then started rocking Neon gently. Pyro watched her. After about 10 seconds, Lucky started singing softly. Neon liked that, and after a bit, she started to close her eyes. When she was fully asleep, everypony was amazed at Lucky. "Wow Lucky, you're really good with babies.", Sweetie said. "Before you say anything though Pyro, you have to be very quiet, so that you don't wake the baby up.", Lucky said, then smiled at Sweetie.
"Ok.", Pyro whispered. Lucky did the rest of the invitations with her magic, and Pyro continued to decorate them. When they were all done, Lucky got up carefully and put them into the mailbox and went back inside. The ponies talked a bit, Lightning and Citrus got to know Pyro more, and then when Neon woke up, she cooed. Lucky looked down and smiled. "Hey there little one. Have a nice nap?", she asked. Neon smiled. "Down.", Neon said. "Ok." Lucky set her down on the floor. Neon went over to Pyro and sat down. She watched Pyro as Pyro played with her blocks. "Play?", Neon asked. "Sure.", Pyro said, as she gave Neon half a stack of blocks. Neon played with them and when she was done building, she bounced happily, proud of her build, then she knocked them down and some went into Pyro's, and Pyro's wasn't built all the way yet and they got knocked down. "Neon! I wasn't done!", Pyro complained. "Pyro, she's just a baby. You can rebuild it.", Lucky said. Pyro pouted. "Pyro.", Lucky warned. "I'm done pwaying!", Pyro said, got up, and went into Lucky's room. Lucky sighed. "I apologize for Pyro's behavior Lightning, Citrus, and Neon.", Lucky said. "Don't worry about it Lucky.", Lightning said. "I'll go talk to her and see if I can get her to apologize to you.", Lucky said as she got up.
She went to her room and knocked on the closed door. "I don't wanna talk!", Pyro said. She's still steamed. "I don't care if you don't want to, you will. I'm coming in.", Lucky said and opened the door. Pyro is sitting on Lucky's bed, forelegs crossed, and a pout on her face. Lucky sat next to her. "Pyro, your behavior back there was not acceptable. Neon didn't mean to knock over your tower. Well, she didn't really do it herself. She knocked into her own blocks and they fell onto yours. She was proud of her build and was excited. You may have done the same if you were proud of your build. Wouldn't you have?" Silence. "I'll take that as a yes.", Lucky said. Pyro still gave Lucky the silent treatment. "Pyro, I'm going to have you apologize to Lightning, Citrus, and even Neon." Pyro looked at Lucky. "Why Wightning and Citwus?", Pyro asked. "Because they're our guests and behaving like that in front of our guests is not acceptable. You need to apologize for your behavior. By your question I take it you understand why you have to apologize to Neon?" Pyro nodded slowly. "Why?", Lucky asked. "Cause I yelled at her...", Pyro said quietly. "Exactly. Now come on out and apologize to the three of them." Pyro whined, but she got up slowly and just as slowly followed Lucky out of the room, looking down at the floor.
When they got out to the living room, "Ok Pyro, what do you say to Lightning, Citrus, and Neon?", Lucky asked. Pyro took a little bit, then said very quietly and just a little annoyedly, "Sowwy..." Lucky looked at Pyro. "That apology is not acceptable, you need to say it like you mean it and really, you have to mean it." Pyro looked at Lucky, not really wanting to do it again. Pyro looked down at the floor. She tried to calm down so that she can do what she needs to do and go back into the room. When she felt she could apologize correctly, she looked up. "Wightning, Citwus, Neon... I'm sowwy for earlier.", Pyro said. "I forgive you.", Lightning and Citrus said. Pyro went back into Lucky's room. Lucky went to the door. "Pyro, if you're not going to play, then can Neon continue playing with your blocks if she wants?", Lucky asked. "Yeah... she can...", Pyro said. "Thank you, for both letting Neon continue playing with your blocks and for apologizing to our guests. But, you're still grounded for a week for behaving how you did to them." Pyro looked at Lucky, "Gwounded?", she asked. Seems she's never heard that term before. "It means you won't be able to have any friends over or go over to a friend's house. No special things either."
"Awwww!", Pyro complained. "If you didn't have a tantrum, you wouldn't be grounded. Let this be a lesson about thinking before you act." Pyro just stayed silent. Lucky went back out to the others. "You were very grown up and you acted just like a mother would to her foal if her foal acted that way.", Lightning said smiling. "Yeah, yeah, yeah.", Lucky said. The others just grinned. "Neon, Pyro said you may continue playing with her blocks.", Lucky said. "Ok.", Neon said and then played with the blocks. A couple hours more Lightning and her husband and foal left. Applejack and Rainbow came home to see Pyro not very happy, but playing with her toys. "What's up little one?", Applejack asked. "I'm gwounded...", Pyro said. "Who grounded you and why?", Rainbow asked. Pyro didn't want to tell them, so Lucky explained. "I grounded her because she threw a fit and had a tantrum when Neon knocked into the build she made and those blocks knocked into Pyro's blocks which were not fully built yet." Applejack and Rainbow understood. "I see. Well, you did good Lucky.", Rainbow said. "Yeah, Lucky even gave quite a lecture. She talked to Pyro for quite a while.", Sweetie said. Lucky told her moms exactly what she told Pyro. "Wow, ya did very well Lucky. Ah'm proud o' ya." Lucky smiled.
A/N: wow... well, I think i'll end it here. This author's note went to the 7th page, and the actual chapter ended right at the end of the 6th page XD well then, I really hoped you enjoyed this chapter. It took me AGES to write X.X as I said in the first author's note, writer's block, plus having my Sims 4 game for my laptop, yeah... though lol, I finished this chapter in the car traveling XD good thing I brought my laptop with me huh?
