A/N: OMG I HATE TECHNOLOGY. Ahem…. Sorry. But it's been ridiculous. I have been through quite a few laptops and this last one was just the freakin pits….. like, every other month I had to send it in to get the hard drive replaced when eventually I just had it. Imma be honest, I whaled (sp?) on that freaking thing cause it kept breaking and needing more and more hard drives…. It kept saying "boot device not found", like wtf? Seriously…. Well, I've got a new laptop and hopefully this can last me years rather than only one year with like, the majority of the year being an ass. Pardon my language. Well, on with the new chapter finally. Hopefully the long wait will have bettered my story writing and length giving in the chapter. I have had so long to think. Plus, I wrote a new poem Christmas Eve I write poems yes, and I have also written a few songs as well in the past. I guess im the creative type. Enough of me babbling, ON WITH THE CHAPTER :D lol.
Chapter 61: Graduation
Today is the day. The day that Lucky and Sweetie have been waiting for. Well, also the rest of the school foals. Graduation day. Everypony is getting ready, all of their family is in the park, where the graduation ceremony is taking place. All of Lucky's family and friends are there as well. Even the Princesses. The Valedictorian is Sweetie Belle and the Salutatorian is Lucky. (whichever is highest is Sweetie. I don't want to make it Lucky cause I don't want to give the impression that she's the highest in everything. She's not.) Lucky has prepared her speech and helped Sweetie with hers. Pyro is sitting on Applejack's lap. "When is Lucky and Sweetie gonna come?", Pyro asked. "Soon. They're getting' ready.", Applejack answered. Pyro nodded. With the school foals, "Ok everypony, get lined up with your partners.", Miss Cheerilee said. Lucky got with Sweetie Belle, and the rest got with their partners. Lucky and Sweetie were first in line.
When everypony got in line, "All right, let's go." We heard the band start to play and we started walking. When we got to the rows of seats, I saw everypony. I was professional though, as much as I wanted to smile and wave, I didn't. When all the school foals were situated on the stands, Miss Cheerilee started talking. "Good afternoon everypony. I'd like to start off with a congratulations to my class. They have all worked very hard to get where they are today." Everypony clapped in the audience. "These fine foals have gone through very much in their school years. Bullying, cutie mark receiving, learning magic, learning how to fly, being a Princess, taking on many responsibilities, raising a very young foal, and one who has Autism. They have grown since then and are doing very well. They bullying has stopped, everypony got their cutie marks and are excelling at their talents, they have grown in their magic wielding and their ability to fly, our young Princess has done great things so far, and she has also taken on the responsibilities and gotten through them well so far, and the two fillies raising a 4 year old foal are doing well in that area too. I see the little one in the audience now. Good to see you Pyro. And the one who has Autism had gone through many situations, but with help from her cousin, she got through them. Now, we'll have the Salutatorian come up and give her speech."
Lucky went up and took the podium. "Thank you Miss Cheerilee. It's an honor to be named Salutatorian, and yes, these years have been tough sometimes, but yes, we did get through them all very well. Everything has turned out well as we got older. But I'm not here to talk about that, I'm here to talk about the school and my experiences. Ever since I started school here in Ponyville after having transferred from Fillydelphia, I have loved every single minute of it. Yes, I was bullied at first, but I stood up for myself and even for the, at the time, Crusader. I gave the two bullies quite the talking to, and again when I was 9. It was actually my birthday when I gave them the second talking to. One of the bullies immediately came to me and repented, then it took a while, but the other bully came to me as well, wishing to repent and become a nicer pony. Today they both are very nice ponies and are my friends. As I got older, I got bumped up two years in my schooling because I was very smart. No, I'm not the Valedictorian, but oh well. Sweetie is very intellectual, whereas I am very wise. Yes, there is a difference. To be a Princess is to be wise, as well as smart. Wise because you have to know what the right thing to do or say is. Smart because you need the mathematical know how to do taxes. And boy taxes are taxing."
Everypony laughed. Lucky smiled. "Now that I'm about to graduate, I can focus more on my Princess work and raising Pyro. I look forward to spending more time with my little filly." Lucky stopped right there. She was speechless and wide eyed. Did she really say "her little filly"? She looked at her mothers. They were grinning. "We told you that you were starting to get maternal instincts.", Rainbow Dash said. Lucky blushed. "W…well… i…", Lucky tried, but couldn't get what she wanted out, out. "Ah know what ye're gonna say. You're not supposed ta feel that way cause ye're too young, but ya can't help it." Lucky sighed. "I'm done with my speech. I literally have nothing else to say. Sweetie Belle, you may come up and give your speech.", Lucky said and went back to her seat. Sweetie Belle gave Lucky a gentle look and nuzzled her before going up to the podium. "It is an honor to be the Valedictorian of my class. I have worked very hard to get where I am today. I even have a job in Hoofington where we are staying for the time being, trying to catch the rest of the DMS. Enough about that though."
"Yes, that is enough.", said a pony. Everypony looked to the right. There were the rest of the DMS! Lucky stood up and took charge. "Everypony, to the Town Hall! Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Shining Armor, Aunt Twilight, to me! We'll fight the DMS and capture them once and for all.", she said. Sweetie Belle gave a quick nuzzle to Lucky before going with Applejack, Rainbow, and Pyro to the Town Hall. Lucky flew to Celestia and the others who gathered together to stand up against the DMS. Lucky did a quick count. Good, there were 16. They haven't split yet. Hopefully they never split, because if her vision comes true…. then Equestria is doomed. Lucky, Celestia, Luna, Twilight, Cadance, and Shining Armor all got into defensive stances. "I'd like to say you're outnumbered, but I would be lying. On the bright side, for us anyway, we're more powerful than you. 4 of us are Princesses and two are very powerful magic users. I think we could take you on and win.", Lucky said. "Sure.", one said sarcastically. Then the fight was on. 4 were up against Celestia, 4 against Luna, 3 against Twilight, 2 against Cadance, 2 against Shining Armor, and one against me. The leader was against me. I held my ground so far. At least I'm not outnumbered like last time. Everypony in the Town Hall were watching the fight out of the windows.
"Come on mama…", Pyro said, not knowing she called Lucky 'mama'. Everypony within hearing range looked at Pyro with surprise on their faces. Lucky kept holding her own. Then she used a spell. The leader put up a barrier in time. "You know, you DMS could work in the Royal Guard. You have really good reflexes and you're very knowledgeable with spells.", Lucky said. "Fat chance.", he said. Lucky shot another spell at him. He again put up a barrier. Lucky flew in the air. "Now that's not fair Princess, I can't fly.", he said sarcastically. Lucky flew in circles and then dive bombed him, ready with a spell. He couldn't erect the barrier in time. He got pretty badly hurt from that. He groaned as he got up. "Seems you're not going easy are you?", he said. "Not really. You threaten my town, my friends, my family, my country, I will defend." He sneered. "Oh yeah? How noble…" He charged and Lucky dodged, but he had a spell ready in case she did dodge. He hit her from behind. "Cowardly move!", Rainbow said. "Easy Rainbow.", Applejack said. Lucky groaned as she got up. "Cowardly move Sky Soarer." He narrowed his eyes at her. "How'd you know my name?", Sky asked. "I just do."
He wasn't happy. Celestia had defeated and successfully detained 2 of her attackers, Luna, Cadance, and Twilight all got just one. Sky noticed this. "We're out powered, fall back! We'll attack when the psychic Princess is alone….. you knew my name by being psychic didn't you?", Sky asked. Lucky smiled. He snorted and the DMS all went away. The detained DMS were taken by Lucky to Hoofington's jail. She teleported herself and them there. She looked them over to make sure they were all intact. She had never teleported that many ponies at once. They were just fine. "Got 5 more DMS for you. I had royal help this time, as well as my very magically talented Aunt Twilight. They couldn't have picked a worse time to attack." The chief of police grinned. "Good. That's 5 more gone. 11 now right?" Lucky nodded. "Good. Their numbers are dwindling. Good luck getting the others Princess. Oh wait, you're in the middle of graduation?", he asked, just noticing Lucky's cap and gown. Lucky smiled happily, "Yup! I already gave my Salutatorian speech, now Sweetie Belle is giving her Valedictorian speech.", she said. "You're only Salutatorian? I'm surprised.", he said. "Yeah I know. So was everypony else. Oh well. Not even a Princess can be a genius or intellectual enough. I am very wise however. That makes up for it I guess. I dunno." He smiled, "Well, as you get older, you still learn more things, so keep your chin up."
"Thank you sir, and I'll be seeing you around when I come back.", she said. "Of course Princess, thank you for bringing these guys in." Lucky nodded, then teleported to the Town Hall. "Ok, the threat is gone. Let's continue this graduation ceremony." Everypony cheered and we all went back to the park. When Lucky saw the ponies who helped her fight the DMS, she went up to them. "Thank you for helping me. We got 5 this time, but only because there were more of us to fight them. You all did very well.", she said. "Of course we'd help, plus, you're a Princess and gave us commands. We obviously are going to listen to you. You're a major authority figure.", Twilight said. Lucky blushed. "Heh, thanks. Well, on with the ceremony." So the ceremony commenced. "Well, sorry for the rude interruption of my speech by the DMS. The Princesses, Prince, and Twilight all did very well fighting them didn't they?" Cheers erupted in the audience. "Thank you, those of you who fought. That's 5 less to worry about. Now, on with my speech before I was so rudely interrupted. In my school days, I did have trouble and stumbling blocks, but I got past them and conquered them. I got where I am today by hard work and dedication, much like everypony else. Though unfortunately they didn't make Valedictorian or Salutatorian, it doesn't make them any less smart. They all are very smart ponies. I just got the honor of being named Valedictorian.
"Lucky got the honor of being named Salutatorian. There were some disappointed ponies, but they congratulated us all the same. After school, I hope to hold true the name of Valedictorian and keep that title honored. Yes, I am a singer in a fancy restaurant, but if I get asked to help somepony with their schoolwork, I do hope to help them well. I should really give the mic back to Miss Cheerilee though. We don't want to be here all day do we? Thank you." Sweetie then took her seat. Miss Cheerilee got back to the mic. "No, thank you Sweetie Belle. Very well said. Now, the giving of the flowers as the band plays music. The giving of the flowers shows gratefulness towards the foals' families." We all got up and went to our families. Us fillies cried when giving our family flowers. Sweetie Belle gave a flower to her mom, dad, and sister. Apple Bloom gave a flower to her sister, brother, and granny. The rest of her family were here, yes, but she could only give so many flowers, so she chose the 3 who were closest to her. Scootaloo gave Rainbow a flower because they were like sisters. Rainbow grinned and gave Scootaloo a playful noogie and Scootaloo chuckled. No crying from them. Lucky gave Applejack, Rainbow, Granny Smith, and Big Mac flowers. Lucky did cry however. So did the ponies who she gave flowers to. Rainbow didn't give the energy to be annoyed that she was crying because she cared for Lucky and didn't want to ruin her graduation by being annoyed that she's showing her tears.
When everypony went back to their seats, Miss Cheerilee talked again. "Well, now I'll call out the names of the ponies and they'll come up and get their diplomas." Now the calling of the names. It went by bottom row to top. Lucky was last to be called, so when her name was called, much applause was to be heard. Lucky went up and got her diploma and went back to her seat. "Now that everypony has their diplomas, it is tradition to switch sides that your tassle is on to the other side, so go ahead and switch the sides of your tassles." They all did. "Congratulations everypony, you are now officially graduated!" They all took their hats off and threw them up in the air and cheered while all of Ponyville, Cloudsdale, and Lucky's out of town friends and family cheered. The foals all searched for their caps and put them back on when they found them. Now the ceremony is over. Everypony went to their families. Lucky's friends and huge family came up and hugged her one by one. It took forever, but the hugging eventually stopped when the last pony hugged her. "Wow, that took forever, but I don't care, I'm glad I could see everypony today.", she said. The others agreed. "I can't wait till my graduation party either. I remembered to include the date of that in my graduation invitations right?" Everypony nodded. "Good." Sweetie then joked, "You didn't give me a flower Lucky." Lucky chuckled. "Oh, I'm planning a surprise for you Sweetie, don't worry." Sweetie was surprised. "Really? When?", she asked. "I just said it was a surprise.", Lucky said chuckling. Sweetie giggled. "Ok ok." After much socialization, and Pyro meeting everypony, Pyro began getting tired. Lucky noticed this. "I think it's time for somepony to go to bed.", she said to Pyro.
"I don't want to. I wanna keep talking to eberypony.", Pyro said. "I know, but you're getting tired. You need sleep." Pyro whined a bit. "No whining Pyro. You'll get to see them again at Sweetie's and my graduation party this summer.", Lucky said. "K…" Lucky looked at everypony. "Well thank you for coming everypony. I had fun after graduation talking to you all. Especially you Fire. I finally got around to practicing Japonies." Fire grinned. "Sayonara Lucky." Lucky grinned right back. "Sayonara." Lucky then went to Applejack's and Rainbow's with Sweetie and Pyro and got Pyro to bed. Lucky and Sweetie slept on the pull out bed from the couch. "So, have fun today Sweetie?" Sweetie nodded. "It was nice seeing everypony. Glad I got to get to know your family a little better. They're really nice." Lucky nodded. "Well I am very tuckered out. Good night." Lucky nuzzled Sweetie and Sweetie nuzzled back and they both fell asleep, back to back.
