Chapter 62: Return to Hoofington

Lucky, Sweetie, and Pyro have already packed their suitcases to go back to Hoofington. At the moment Lucky and Sweetie are hanging out with their families one last time until they come back for good. "I hope to catch the rest of the DMS soon. I don't want to be away from home any longer. I liked having spent time with everypony.", Lucky said. "Ah know Lucky. We miss havin' ya, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.", Applejack said. Lucky merely nodded. Pyro piped up with, "Yeah, I fink you have to catch them. Who is powerful enough to other dan you?" Lucky chuckled. "Oh, there are 3 other Princesses who could, but I took it upon myself to catch them, after what the most powerful DMS member did to me." Lucky showed Pyro her scars on her forelegs. "Whoa.", Pyro said. "That's not the half of it. He took my soul away from my body, so I would have not been here if it weren't for my family and friends. They came to Hoofington to find me. I ended up finding them. My soul found Aunt Rarity and Aunt Fluttershy while they were fighting Maisie. I'm pretty sure you may have heard me use my Canterlot Voice."

Pyro nodded. "It scared me for a bit, but then I wistened and heard what you were saying." Lucky patted Pyro on the head. "Sorry that I scared you." Pyro smiled. "It's ok." Lucky smiled back. "But also, he left a nasty scar on my chest. It made me be in the hospital for 6 months. I was in something called a coma. It's when your body takes a rest after something really bad happened to it. Sometimes ponies wake up and sometimes they don't. I'm lucky enough to be one of the ones who did wake up.", Lucky said. "Whoa…. Well I'm gwad you woke up. If you didn't, I would still be wiff my no more pawents.", Pyro said. Lucky nodded. "I'm glad I woke up too.", she said. Pyro hugged Lucky. Lucky chuckled and hugged Pyro back. Sweetie Belle then came in. "Hey Lucky, Pyro, ready to go?", she asked. "Yeah. Bye ma, mom.", Lucky said, hugging them both as Pyro got her saddlebags. "Bye kiddo. Good luck catching the rest of the DMS.", Rainbow said. "Thanks. I'll need it." Pyro then hugged them. "Bye grandma two times.", she said. Everypony except Sweetie looked at Pyro very surprised. "Why aren't you surprised Sweetie Belle?", Lucky asked. "How about you say it Pyro. I heard what you called Lucky on graduation day."

"Did she happen to call me 'mama'?", Lucky asked. Pyro nodded. "See Lucky, even Pyro feels like you're her mama now.", Rainbow said. "Now that I think about it, it reminds me of the time you first called me mama. It surprised me too.", Rainbow added. Lucky looked down at the floor. "Yeah, I remember too. This is kind of exactly like the time I first called you mama. Heh, with Pyro, it's déjà vu. She's doing the same exact things I did when I was younger.", Lucky said. "It's like she's a mini you.", Sweetie said giggling. Lucky chuckled. "Yeah I suppose." Applejack and Rainbow chuckled too. Lucky got her saddlebags. "Jeez, the amount of mail we'll have in Hoofington…. I hate to think of it.", she said. Sweetie nodded. "Well, maybe I could help you. I could do the advice Princess paperwork while you do the harder ones I wouldn't know how to do.", Sweetie offered. "That would be great, thank you Sweetie." Sweetie smiled. "No problem. All right, bye Applejack, Rainbow." The two said bye as the trio went off to the train station.

There was a farewell group consisting of Pinkie, Twilight, and Spike. "Hey guys. Here to see us off?", Lucky asked. "Yeah, good luck catching the rest of the DMS.", Twilight said. "Thanks. I'm gonna need it. But you know what Pyro called my ma and mom?", Lucky asked. "Lemme guess, grandma?", Twilight said. "Yeah, so you heard Pyro call me mama too at graduation then huh?", Lucky asked. "Yup! Surprised us, but then again, didn't. We knew it was coming at some point.", Pinkie said. "I suppose it was. She's doing the same things I did when I first met Rainbow and stayed with her a while.", Lucky said. The three smiled. "So, getting a little déjà vu huh?", Spike asked. "Yeah, just a little.", Lucky replied, chuckling. Twilight and Spike chuckled too, and Pinkie and Sweetie giggled. The trio getting on the train hugged the trio staying in Ponyville goodbye and then boarded the train. The train ride back was uneventful. They played travelling games on the way back to pass the time. When they got back to the apartment, they unpacked. After the unpacking, which took no time at all cause they only brought only a few things, Lucky grabbed the mail.

"Jeez, this is quite a bit." Lucky sat at the table and sorted through it. She separated the advice asking portion of the Princess work from the harder stuff. When she was done, she gave the advice papers to Sweetie Belle. "I really do appreciate you helping me. We'll get this done much faster than just me doing this all myself.", Lucky said. "It's no problem Lucky." So they got to work. In the middle of them working, "Can you take me to the park? I wanna play on the playgwound.", Pyro said. "Of course. It'll also get us fresh air too." The three went to the playground and while doing the Princess work, they also watched over Pyro. At some point, Candy Floss came over and said hi while selling her cotton candy. She got back to Hoofington just after the graduation ended. She was the first to hug them, and left after she congratulated them. "Hi Candy Floss. We just got back from Ponyville. Now that Sweetie and I are graduated, as you know, you were there, I can focus all my time on Pyro and Sweetie, catching the DMS, and my Princess work." Sweetie looked at Lucky, "You prioritize Pyro and I above catching the most powerful criminals and even your Princess work?", she asked.

"Of course. You two are the most important ponies in my life. Yeah, my family and friends are important too, and so is my work as a Princess, but you two are the ones I want to focus on. You're my soul mate and Pyro is just a very young filly who needs parental guidance in her young life and you and I are the only two who she wants." Sweetie Belle blushed lightly and smiled. "You two are just the sweetest ponies I have ever seen.", Candy said. Lucky blushed lightly this time and Sweetie's blush stayed. Candy giggled. Pyro came over. "Hi Miss Floss!" Pyro was surprised that she said Candy's name right. "Good job Pyro. You were able to say Candy's name right.", Sweetie said. Pyro smiled. "May I have a cotton candy pleeeaaase?" Sweetie and Lucky looked at each other. Pyro hasn't had any sweets for a long while. "Why not? You've been a good little filly lately and it's been a while. Just one cotton candy please.", Lucky said. Candy got it and gave it to Pyro while Lucky paid for it. "Thanks!", Pyro said, both to Lucky and Candy.

"You're welcome.", they said. "That's a lot of papers.", Candy said. "Yeah, I have to catch up on the missed paperwork. Sweetie is helping me with the advice part of my paperwork.", Lucky said. "Wow, that's good. That way you'll be done faster." Lucky nodded. "Well, I'll leave you two to your work. Good seeing you.", Candy said, then went away after Lucky, Sweetie, and Pyro returned the saying. As evening came, the three went home. Lucky and Sweetie had conquered most of the paperwork. "Thank you for helping me today Sweetie Belle.", Lucky said as they got settled in bed. "No problem. I'm glad I could help." Lucky smiled at her then fell asleep. Sweetie also fell asleep after returning the smile. The next morning, Lucky woke up at 5:30. She got up and went to finish her Princess work. Sweetie and Pyro both woke up at 6. They got their breakfast and Sweetie practiced her singing and Pyro played with her toys. Lucky listened to Sweetie singing. Pyro was enjoying it too. After many hours, Lucky finally finished. When she went to the mailbox, she saw more Princess work. She sighed and took them out and put the finished Princess work in.

Lucky immediately went to do the Princess work. By this time it was 5 in the afternoon and Sweetie Belle was already at work. Pyro kept playing with her toys. When 6:00 rolled around, Lucky started supper. "What'cha making mama?", Pyro asked. Lucky's ears twitched, she'll have to get used to that now. "Green bean casserole. Now don't be a little picky eater and say 'ew' because I know you will. You gotta try it before you know for sure whether you like it or not.", Lucky said. "Ok…..", Pyro replied, then went back to her toys. When Lucky was done, she called Pyro to the table and served her a serving of green bean casserole and then got herself some. There was applesauce as a side dish and they had milk for a drink. Pyro tried a bite of the green bean casserole. "….. Not bad.", she said and continued eating it. Lucky chuckled and ate her dinner. When dinner was done, Lucky took care of the dishes and Pyro went to watch a little tv to settle down before bedtime. At 9, Sweetie Belle came home and got her dinner. "Wow Lucky, you're a really good cook.", she said.

"Yeah, and you know what Pyro said? She goes, '… Not bad.' Then she continues eating." Sweetie giggled. "Well, it's a good thing you tried it Pyro. It's always a good thing to try something new.", she said. Pyro nodded. Lucky finished her Princess work, put it in the mail box, then went to the couch and went up to Pyro. "Bed time young filly.", she said. Pyro turned off the tv and said, "Ok." She hopped off the couch (not literally) and followed Lucky to her room. Lucky tucked Pyro in. "Good night Pyro.", she said. "Night mama." Lucky went to her own bedroom and sat on her bed. When Sweetie Belle was done eating, she took care of her dishes and went to say good night to Pyro and then went to her and Lucky's bedroom. She sat on her bed and faced Lucky. "What are you thinking Lucky? I know that when you sit on your bed like that, you're thinking of something.", she asked. "I don't know how I feel anymore about Pyro calling me 'mama' and my mothers 'grandma'…. I mean… maybe I should accept it. I mean, she's doing exactly what I did when I was her age. Should I just accept that fact?", Lucky asked. Sweetie Belle got up and sat next to Lucky.

"Do what you feel is right. If you feel it's right to think of her as your daughter from now on, then that's ok. If you feel it's right to think of her as your daughter when you're older, then that's ok.", Sweetie said. Lucky thought. "….. I think I feel like I can think of her as my daughter now… despite me having been so adamant about not thinking of her that way yet.", Lucky said. "Ok then." Lucky smiled at Sweetie Belle. Thanks for the advice." Sweetie smiled back. "Of course. I also feel it's ok to think of Pyro as my daughter too." Lucky nodded. "Well, we should get to sleep Sweetie. Good night." Lucky hugged Sweetie Belle and after Sweetie hugged back, Sweetie went back to her own bed and got in and they went to sleep.
