Hey everyone! I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry for the long wait! Can't believe my last update was back in June! I'm hoping I won't have you wait that long again.

As you can tell from the title, I went straight to Nemesis Prime. I was planning on writing an original chapter but then decided against it. I will write a SR/KO chapter before Armada for sure, but before that I want to put up a flashback chapter as well.

Anyway, here is chapter 39! I'm sorry its a short chapter but I hope you like it anyway. Also, sorry for any grammar errors.

Transformers Prime: The Medic's assistant

Chapter 39: Nemesis Prime

Disclaimer: I don't own Transformers Prime

(Autobot Base)

"Racers!" Miko announced as she gripped her remote control, "start your engines!"

Lining up their remote controlled cars down on the floor, the kids got ready as they turned on their controllers.

"On your mark!" Miko said, "get set... GO!"

Off went the toy cars towards the Groundbridge. Seeing Jack's car catching up to hers, Sierra brought her hand up to cover his eyes.

"Hey, that's cheating!" he said as he pushed her hand away from his face.

"Kinda the point," she laughed.

"Oh yeah?" he asked with a smirk, "well take this!"

He then got his car to pass hers as it spun around and sped off out of the groundbridge.

"Oh it's on, Hotshot!" the red head said as she spun hers around and chased after his.

Raf's car already in the lead, the cars drove out of the groundbridge and passed the kids.

"Yes!" Miko cheered as Raf laughed.

"Go, go, go!" Jack said as he tried to make his car go faster.

Watching the race from the sidelines, Stormracer, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, and Arcee cheered their humans on as the cars drove past them.

"You got this, Sierra!" Stormracer cheered.

"Alright, Raf!" Bumblebee cheered.

"Metal to the pedal, Miko!" Bulkhead cheered.

"Go, Jack, go!" Arcee cheered.

"No way!" Miko exclaimed as she tried to catch up to Raf's car, "Raf's scorching us!"

The bots kept on cheering before a voice came in through their communications unit.

"Prime!" Agent Fowler's voice said, interrupting the race, "do you read me?"

Wondering why the human liaison was calling, everyone approached the computer as Ratchet answered.

"I'm sorry, Agent Fowler, Optimus isn't here at the moment," the medic said.

"Then I'll take that as a confirmation that he's presently trying to run me off the road!" Fowler exclaimed.

"Say what now?" Stormracer asked as she and the others shared the same confused look.

"Agent Fowler, that hardly seems likely," Ratchet said.

"Tell that to my burning treads!"

The call was then cut. Putting in the liaison's coordinates, Ratchet immediately activated the groundbridge and sent the team out to help Fowler.

Watching the bots disappear through the bridge, Stormracer looked at Ratchet. "Do you think its a decepticon?"

"If it is, they're cloaking their energy signature," Ratchet said as he tried to contact the autobot leader.

"You don't think its really Optimus, do you?" Raf asked.

"It can't be him," Jack said, "I mean, this is Optimus we're talking about. He doesn't have a bad bone in his body."

Ratchet frowned at the computer screen. "I can't reach him," he said, "he must be out of communication range."

"While Fowler's being chased by someone who looks like him?" Sierra asked.

"Coincidence?" Stormracer guessed.

Soon the others returned with Agent Fowler... and an unconscious Arcee.

"What happened?!" Ratchet asked.

"Don't know," Bulkhead said, "we found her like this."

"Cryo chamber! Now!"

Once Arcee was in the chamber, everyone gathered around as Ratchet checked her over. After a while, the two wheeler started to wake up.

"That's it," Ratchet said as he shined a light in her optics, "follow the light."

Arcee's optics opened wide. "Wait, WHAT?!"she exclaimed. Seeing she was back at base, she released a vent of relief as she stepped out of the chamber. "Not the best choice of words, Ratchet."

"Arcee, are you alright?" Jack asked.

"Sure... except for being blindsided by Optimus."

"So it's true?" Sierra asked.

"Didn't I tell you!" Agent Fowler exclaimed.

"Impossible," Ratchet protested.

"I'm only reporting what I saw," the two wheeler said.

"Why would Optimus try to knock off Agent Fowler?" Jack asked.

"Maybe Optimus thinks he's a decepticon all over again," Raf guessed.

"Or he's been faking being a good guy all this time!" Miko added.

"What if he's being mind controlled?" Sierra asked.

"Or its a doppelganger of him from an alternate universe where autobots are evil and the decepticons are the good guys!" Stormracer guessed.

Everyone just gave her a strange look.

"Just guessing," she said with a shrug.

Shaking his head, Agent Fowler looked at the others. "Look, if Prime has gone off the rails for any reason, then we have a serious problem," he said.

"This is absurd," Ratchet said as he walked over to the computer, "a quick check of Optimus' signal will reveal he was nowhere near the location of tonight's incident." Typing away, he soon brought up the Prime's signature. "In fact, he's just returning now."

Everyone turned around and looked at the entrance. Hearing the semi truck approaching, the bots walked over as Optimus drove around the corner and entered the main hangar. Soon as the Prime stopped, he transformed into his bot form and approached the group. It didn't take him long to notice they seemed a little on edge.

"Is something wrong?" he asked.

"We were just... wondering where you've been," Arcee said.

"We haven't been able to reach you," Bulkhead added.

"I have been outside of our communication range..." the Prime said.

He reached for something behind him, making Bumblebee, Arcee, and Bulkhead activate their weapons.

"Whoa," Arcee said as they aimed their weapons at him.

"Easy," Bulkhead warned.

Stormracer even activated her EMP generator as she shielded the humans.

"...In a subterranean energon deposit," Optimus finished as he revealed a piece of an energon crystal.

The bots glanced at one another as they kept their weapons on him.

"On come on, it's our guy," Jack said, "can't you tell?"

Seeing it was still their Optimus, the bots deactivated their weapons.

"We're... sorry," Arcee apologized.

"Don't blame them, Prime," Agent Fowler said, "I was attacked earlier tonight on the open highway by a big rig. One that bore a striking resemblance to you." Just then his cellular device started ringing. Answering it, he spoke to the person on the other end. "Fowler... What?... That's not possible... I can tell you as there are fifty stars on my star spangled shorts, it isn't him..." Hanging up, he looked at the others. "Alden military base was under attack by Optimus Prime."

"The truck?" Jack asked.

"The bot."

All optics/eyes widened in confusion.

"What the heck is going on?" Sierra asked.

Optimus looked at the medic. "Ratchet, put in the coordinates and activate the groundbridge," he said, "we will go investigate."

Soon the bots set off to the military base, leaving Ratchet, Stormracer, and the humans behind.

"How can there be two Optimuses?" Sierra asked.

"You know, an Optimus Prime from an alternate universe doesn't sound so crazy anymore," Miko said.

"Maybe it is a decepticon," Raf guessed, "like the one who disguised himself as Wheeljack."

"Either that or someone was able to put together a robot that looks like Optimus," Jack added.

Hearing Jack's guess reminded Stormracer of something. She looked at Ratchet. "Back when Bumblebee and I went to get his T-cog from MECH, do you remember we mentioned something about a robot?"

Ratchet's optics widened. "You don't think-"

Just then Optimus' voice came in. "Ratchet, we need an immediate groundbridge!"

The medic immediately reactivated the groundbridge, allowing the group to return safe and sound.

"What happened?" Stormracer asked.

"The humans weren't too happy to see us," Bumblebee bleeped.

"We saw it," Arcee said, "the other Optimus."

Agent Fowler then received another call. Everyone listened in as he answered it. "No, General Bryce, Optimus Prime did not attack our boys... because I was with Prime when we received the alert... yes sir, the Autobots were at your base, but only in response to the initial attack... but Sir, I... yes, Sir, I understand." Soon as he hung up, he looked at everyone.

"So, what's the damage?" Jack asked.

Fowler sighed. "All military personnel are under strict orders to destroy any and all bots on sight."

"What?!" Sierra exclaimed.

"Are you kidding?!" Jack exclaimed.

"But they're innocent," Raf said.

"Optimus was framed!" Miko said.

"Though unfortunate, the military order changes nothing," Optimus said, "our imposter clearly poses a grave threat to humanity."

"A thirty foot tall transforming imposter," Fowler added.

"They actually did it," Ratchet said, "those butchers managed to crack the code."

"MECH," Optimus said.

"MECH abducted Breakdown, and by all indications, deconstructed him from cranial chamber to heel strut," Ratchet said.

"Storm and I were there," Bulkhead said.

"And we know that more recently they obtained Starscream's T-cog," Optimus said.

"Which they evidentially installed in a knock off of you," Arcee said.

"Which in turn scanned an appropriate vehicle form," Ratchet said.

"Fill the tank with energon," Jack said.

"And say hello to Nemesis Prime," Miko finished.

Stormracer looked at her. "Did you just come up with that?" she asked.

"A little while ago, yeah," Miko said.

"Nice," the teal femme complimented.

"So, where do we start?" Fowler asked, "MECH's base could be anywhere."

"Not necessarily," Optimus said, "while MECH may have learned much of our biology..."

"They haven't necessarily absorbed our technology," Ratchet finished before turning to the computer, "without access to a groundbridge, Nemesis Prime would rely solely on its vehicle mode for transportation."

"Chances are the MECH base is within driving distance of both incidents," Arcee guessed.

"What are we waiting for?" Fowler asked, "let's get out there and smash MECH's little science project."

"Agent Fowler, I do not think it advisable to put yourself in harms way of MECH's robot again," Optimus told him.

"Well I'm not sure its advisable for bots to be running recon with the military out there gunning for you," the liaison argued.

"We will maintain vehicle cover until absolutely necessary," the Prime said.

Soon after the team left, Ratchet, Stormracer, and the humans looked at the computer as Ratchet started working.

"If I can isolate the control frequency of the remote link Sylas is employing, I should be able to pin point his exact position," the medic said as he searched on the computer.

"Remote link?" Raf asked.

"You didn't think MECH possessed the ability to build a completely autonomous robot, did you?"

"I was hoping Sylas would be operating the bot from inside," Miko said, "because one punch from Bulkhead and BOOYAH!" Making a dying noise, she dramatically fell to the ground as everyone just looked at her.

The computer then started beeping as the girl got back up.

"Ah ha!" Ratchet said, "frequency isolated."

Agent Fowler stepped forward. "Then reopen that bridge."

The medic looked at him. "Agent Fowler, did you not hear Optimus advice against your involvement? It's for your own safety."

"Look, Doc, I don't plan on dancing with any bots, but there's a human element in play here. And in case you haven't noticed, I happen to be a highly trained government grade human."

"Yeah," Miko agreed, "plus Sylas tried to run him off the road. It's personal."

Ratchet wasn't convinced. "And if Silas decides to send his bot after you again?"

"Silas will be too focused on the bots," Sierra said, "I doubt he thinks anyone else will show up."

"Hate to say it, but Sierra has a point," Stormracer said, "I'll even go with Fowler just in case."

"No offense, Stormracer, but I'm pretty sure MECH will be on high alert if they catch a giant robot sneaking around their hideout," Fowler told the femme, "best to let me go alone so I can catch Silas by surprise."

Thinking for a moment, Ratchet let out a vent. "Very well, Agent Fowler."

Soon as the medic activated the groundbridge, Agent Fowler disappeared through the portal. Ratchet then made his way back to the computer and contacted the liaison.

"Agent Fowler, the control frequency is transmitting from a structure one hundred meters due North," he said.

"Copy that," Fowler replied before hanging up.

"I still think I should have gone with him," Stormracer said.

"You heard what Fowler said," Jack told her.

"Besides, if Nemesis was able to take down Arcee, you wouldn't stand a chance," Miko added.

"They're right," Ratchet said, "all we can do now is hope that Fowler and the others can put a stop to MECH for good."

Time went by as they waited. Soon as they got the word, Ratchet groundbridged the bots back to base, all looking in pretty rough shape.

Stormracer attended to Arcee, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead while Ratchet attended to Optimus' stab wound. As they worked, they were filled in on what had happened.

"So, that's the end of Silas?" Jack asked.

"Taken out by his own machine," Bulkhead said.

"At least we won't have to deal with that knock off again," Bumblebee bleeped.

"Lucky for you three, all you got were nasty dents on the head," the medical assistant said soon as she was done checking them over.

Bulkhead groaned as he held his sore head. "Lucky us," he said.

"So, how weird was it to see someone who looked exactly like Optimus kicking the scrap out of you?" Miko asked.

"It's a sight I won't soon forget," Arcee said.

"Ditto," Bumblebee agreed.

"The question remains whether MECH will continue to function as we know it, without it's leader," Optimus said as Ratchet finished patching him up.

"Well here's the kicker," Fowler said from the video call, "we sifted through the wreckage with a fine tooth comb, and couldn't find any trace of Silas."

(Elsewhere)

After having to retreat to another one of their hideouts, MECH scientists monitored their comatose leader. Thanks to Special Agent Fowler, Silas had lost the fight against Optimus Prime, resulting in Nemesis Prime falling through the roof and on top of him. His men were shocked to find he was still alive. However, he was very much in critical condition.

"The internal damage to his organs is massive, and beyond the scope of conventional medicine," the MECH surgeon said, "fortunately for our leader, MECH is anything but conventional."

Silas breathed through the breathing mask as he laid there with cables attached to his body... connecting him to the deceased body of Breakdown behind him.

And that was Nemesis Prime! I know, it was short and boring and I'm sorry. I really did want to add more to it but didn't know what to do. Next chapter won't be as boring, I promise. It will take place during Grill and will be a flashback chapter on how Stormracer became Ratchet's assistant. I don't want to give away too too much, but it will have a few special guest stars and will definitely have some fight scenes.

I also want to say feel free to share some constructive criticism. I do enjoy writing stories for you guys and I do want to improve with my writing. If there's anything you feel that I need to work on, character wise or story wise, please let me know.

Anyway, hopefully I will update again soon. Until next time! God bless!
