Techno chuffed, a wave of confusion running through him as he eyed Philza, who was doing his utmost best at not being seen; wings wrapped up around him and curled up in a small ball in the corner of the room. Techno was annoyed that it had initially worked, too.
He'd come inside, chest rumbling when the warmth of the cabin had melted through the cold that had been blanketed around him when he was outside to do his chores. His cloak hung up next to Philza's, which had told Techno that his friend was home and Techno had completely missed his arrival.
He carefully toed off his boots, turned around, and had started to make his way towards the kitchen, fully prepared to make them both lunch, or dinner Techno supposed, when a quiet cooing sounded from the living room. Techno had stopped, and turned because he could have sworn that the living room had been empty.
His eyes had missed the mass of black wings hiding in the darkest corner of the living room three times before the wings had shifted and Techno had finally spotted his friend, peeking out in curiosity.
"Philza…" Techno quietly called out, Philza ducked back behind his wings, and within moments Techno's eyes struggled picking out where his friends' wings were. Techno found he really didn't like that camouflage when it was being used on him. "What's going on?" Techno added, his friend didn't move again, however there was another small cooing sound emitted from the corner.
The sound was most definitely too young to be his friend cooing, but his friend was without doubt cooing back. Techno sighed, turning and moving back towards the kitchen. He wanted no part of whatever it was Philza was hiding, and he was hungry.
Would his friend come out to eat? Would Techno have to entice him to eat? Would Techno have to hide away in his room or go outside so his friend will eat?
Techno sighed as he looked around the kitchen, eyeing the suspiciously low milk that he knew that he had just gotten refilled that morning. He had to figure out something that they could both eat. Techno wanted potatoes, how he would eat them, he didn't quite care.
Though, he remembered that the last time Philza was home, he had grown nearly sick of potatoes. Techno huffed, an annoyed self growl quietly escaping him as he tried to think of something.
There was a chirp of confusion from behind him, and when Techno turned, his friend was standing in the doorway, a confused tilt of his head as he stared at Techno… and in his arms was a bundle that told Techno everything he needed to know about why his friend was acting this way.
"Bruh…" Techno huffed, a wave of fondness rushing through him, alongside the vague annoyance. Philza stole a child. Again. And a particularly young one, which unlocked instincts that Techno hadn't been aware Philza even had.
He wondered if Philza even knew he had those instincts.
"Philza, have you eaten?" Techno asked, wondering if Phil was even going to answer him. It took several moments before Philza nodded, before shaking his head with a near guilty expression.
Techno sighed, turning back towards the fridge. He could make something with carrots this time, he supposed. He didn't want his friend to actually get sick because he made something with potatoes. Carrot soup… Carrot cake perhaps? He knew Phil liked Carrot cake, and while it wasn't very filling, it was something.
"What are you willing to eat?" Techno turned, nearly flinching in surprise to find Phil barely a foot away from him with wide eyes, his instincts practically completely in control. Phil held out the bundle, and while Techno was hesitant to accept the baby, he did accept the bundle from Phil.
He ignored the sudden urge to take the baby and hide in his den. He was not the parental type, he was the fighter type. He was the one to patrol their territory and fight anything that was in it that didn't belong.
Techno sighed deeply through his nose as Philza ushered him away from the fridge; even going so far as to kick Techno out of the kitchen so that he could cook. Techno wondered if he should force Phil out of the kitchen too.
He sighed again as he moved to the couch, cradling the baby carefully. He looked down, and wanted to bang his head against the wall. The baby was a Piglin hybrid, like Techno. He wondered why his friend had kidnapped a baby that wasn't even the same species as himself.
Though, Techno then had to wonder. Did Techno kidnap the baby, or had the baby been abandoned? Runt's were often abandoned, and while it was rare that it was from birth, it did happen.
"His name's Chayanne." Techno looked over, finding that his friend had at least gained some semblance of control of his instincts.
"Chayanne?" Techno asked, watching his friend as he glanced back into the kitchen. "What are you making?"
"Pasta. I cannot eat any more potatoes, mate." Phil responded, laughing lightly.
"I was gonna make carrot cake." Techno responded, smirking as Philza gave him a playful glare. "But Chayanne?" Techno glanced back at the baby, who was half the size of a Piglin hybrid baby.
"I thought the name was cute." Philza responded, sounding further away. Techno looked back up and found that Philza had gone back into the kitchen. Pasta was one thing that Techno knew that Philza could cook, and could make well.
Techno hummed, patting the bundle's side as he looked back down at the baby, Chayanne. He supposed there was going to be a new addition to their lives, and there was going to have to be a change in his schedule.
A massive one, at that.
He wondered who was going to get the wood so that they could create an extension to the house… Techno wondered how hard it would be to completely rebuild the house once summer hit.
