Hey everyone! I'm back already with chapter 52! I hope you like it! P.S. sorry for any grammar errors.
Transformers Prime: The Medic's Assistant
Chapter 52: Race
Disclaimer: I don't own Transformers Prime
It didn't take long for the two to reach their destination. Stormracer followed behind Knock Out as he went off road towards the large wire fence. They then transformed and walked over to the fence with a sign on it saying, No Trespassing.
Using the welder on his digit, Knock Out cut through the wire. Then using his digit, he pressed it against the sign and pushed. The piece of fence fell over, leaving a hole big enough for two cybertronians to walk through. Knock Out grinned as he stepped aside and gestured towards the entrance he made.
"Femmes first," he said.
Stormracer was having second thoughts as she stepped through with Knock Out right behind her. "Are you sure about this?" she asked, "What if we get caught?"
"The place is practically deserted," Knock Out assured as he got beside her, "Plus, no surveillance cameras. We're good."
Stormracer let out a vent as she followed the decepticon. Soon they made it to the large racetrack. The place looked run-down with paint fading off the stands and cracks in the pavement.
"I drove around this track a few times," Knock Out said, "it's no Velocitron attraction, but it's decent."
The two then stepped onto the paved track before transforming into their vehicle forms. Their headlights shined brightly as they drove up to the starting line.
"Let's make this simple," Knock Out said, "we'll do five quick laps. Whoever wins will be named the fastest."
"Sounds good to me," Stormracer said.
"Perfect. And GO!"
The red Aston Martin then took off like a shot, leaving the teal sports car in the dust.
"Hey!" Stormracer exclaimed as she put pedal to the metal and chased after him, "That's cheating!"
"Better keep up!" He shouted as he accelerated.
Both cars zoomed down the track as dust flew behind them. Stormracer struggled to keep up as she found herself having to drift a few times with the turns. She finally managed to catch up but Knock Out refused to let her pass as he constantly cut her off.
"Having fun yet?" he asked.
"Any chance 'femmes first' applies here?" she joked.
He laughed. "Ha! Nice try. It's not too late to admit defeat."
"I don't give up that easily."
Knock Out smirked in his alt mode. "Well then, let's see what you got." He then made a sharp turn, catching the femme by surprise.
"Aah!" Stormracer shrieked as she swerved off the track. Coming to a halt in the grass, she watched as Knock Out sped off. Something clicked in her as she revved up her engine. "Oh, now it's on!" Her tires spun around before she sped off at lightning speed.
Knock Out saw her approaching fast and grinned in his alt mode. "There it is."
Stormracer soon caught up and smirked at him. "You're going down, KO!"
He laughed. "We'll see, Stormy!"
The two raced around the track neck and neck. Once she was more familiar with the track, Stormracer found it much easier as she managed to get ahead of the Aston Martin a few times.
Knock Out watched as she passed him. He couldn't help but check out her vehicle form as she got in front of him. Smirking to himself, he managed to get passed her again and cut her off like before.
Stormracer tried to get past as he cut her off each time. Looking at the slope on the wall coming up, she smirked as she faked going the opposite way. Knock Out moved, but she went the other way and drove up onto the slope.
Knock Out was surprised as she sped past him on the slope and got in the lead.
Stormracer laughed as she got back on the track with Knock Out now behind her.
The decepticon chuckled. "Not bad."
Seeing the finish line far ahead, both cars accelerated. Knock Out was gaining speed and soon got beside the femme. Stormracer went as fast as she could, determined to finish first. But just when she thought she was going to make it, her wheel hit a pothole. She let out a shriek as she swerved off the track and collided into a stack of tires.
Knock Out immediately hit the brakes and skidded to a stop, inches away from the finish line. He then backed away and drove straight for the autobot before transforming into bot mode. "Stormracer!" he shouted. He immediately began moving the tires away before finding the teal car groaning in pain.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
Stormracer transformed into bot mode and held her helm. "Anyone get the number of that pothole?"
Letting out a vent of relief, Knock Out helped her up. She let out a wince as she felt pain shoot through her wheel strut.
Just then both froze when they heard a siren approaching, making them look to see red and blue lights heading their way.
"Scrap!" both said in unison.
Immediately they ran and hid as a police cruiser came into view.
Soon as the law enforcement vehicle pulled up and parked, the police officer inside stepped out and looked around. He had gotten a report about someone being in the racetrack and went to investigate. Pulling out his flashlight, he started walking. He looked at the tires sprawled all around before continuing towards where the two cybertronians ran off. He kept walking as he shined his flashlight in every direction.
Hiding up behind the billboards, Stormracer and Knock Out remained quiet as they listened to the human's footsteps. The autobot grew nervous as she saw the light from the flashlight getting closer.
The police officer stopped in front of the worn-out billboards and looked up at them. He stepped closer as he shined his light around.
Stormracer and Knock Out glanced at each other, both thinking they were going to be seen.
Thankfully, the police officer turned around and left. After a while, he gave up his search and left the area, allowing Stormracer to vent in relief as she and Knock Out dropped down from their hiding spots.
"That was too close," she said.
"So much for no humans," Knock Out said.
"Guess no one told him that."
The two shared glances before they started laughing about it.
(Time skip)
Deciding they should head somewhere else, the two made their way towards a lake. There they both sat on a rock while Knock Out tended to Stormracer's injury. The femme let out a whimper as she felt the welder sting her.
"Easy," Knock Out said, "I'm almost done."
Stormracer let out a vent as she tried not to think about it. She looked at Knock Out and smiled. "Despite getting injured... I had fun."
Knock Out smiled back. "Me too."
"I could have totally won you know."
The decepticon laughed. "Oh please. I was going to let you win."
The femme rolled her optics. "Uh huh, sure you were."
Knock Out chuckled. "Well, perhaps we should have a rematch in the near future. Though hopefully without you getting hurt and law enforcement crashing our fun."
Stormracer smiled. "I'd like that."
The decepticon smiled back before continuing his welding.
Stormracer watched as he fixed her wheel strut. After a while, she asked. "You think the war will ever end?"
Knock Out shrugged. "Don't know. At the rate its going, we'll probably fight until we all rust away."
The autobot thought for a moment before looking back at him. "If there was no war, if we were still on Cybertron, where do you see yourself?"
The mech thought on it. "My guess is I would have probably stayed in Kaon patching up miners." He looked up at her. "You?"
"Well, I would have graduated from the science academy, and hopefully gotten a job in Crystal City and have my own laboratory. Maybe even won a couple awards."
The decepticon whistled. "Big dreamer."
Stormracer laughed. "Well, just a thought."
Knock Out smirked as he looked back at his work. Wondering about something, he glanced up at her. "Why did you become a medical assistant?"
"Ooh, now that's a long story," Stormracer said, "one that involves fighting a bounty hunter named Lockdown."
He fully looked up at her. "Wait, Lockdown?!" he asked in disbelief, "as in the bounty hunter who's obsessed with hunting trophies?"
"Yep, that's the one. To make a long story short, I was with a bot Lockdown was after, and Ratchet and I were able to save him. Lockdown however got away."
"I see. But that doesn't explain why you became a medical assistant."
"Well, that same day, I was rejected by the science division. I didn't want to enlist as a soldier, so I wasn't sure what else to do. But then I went to the triage facility where Ratchet worked, and I saw all the bots he was helping. I was fascinated and wanted to learn how to repair bots. At first when I asked him to teach me, he said no. But after a crazy day of fighting a bounty hunter, he asked me to work for him. He even trained me whenever he could. Funny part is, I'm kinda glad I didn't get accepted into the science division. If I did, then I wouldn't have met Ratchet and the others. I wouldn't even be here on Earth and have met Sierra."
Knock Out smirked, amused by her positivity. "I suppose that's a good way of looking at it."
"Well, just because I'm not a scientist, doesn't mean I won't be one in the future. And Ratchet's a really good boss. He's kind of like another sire to me. I would have never gotten this far without him."
Knock Out's smirk grew. "Well, you two must make quite a team."
Stormracer smiled at that.
The decepticon doctor then pulled the welder away and inspected his work. "There," he said as he freed her arm. "Good as new."
Stormracer moved her shoulder around and smiled. "Thanks!"
Knock Out only shrugged. "Meh, it was a simple fix."
Her smile remained as she looked at him. "Doesn't mean you don't deserve a thank you."
Hearing that, Knock Out smiled to himself. "You're welcome," he said.
Both quietly sat there as they looked out at the lake. Everything was quiet and still all around them. Stormracer found it very peaceful as she stared at the calm water. Wondering about something, she looked at Knock Out. "Can I ask you something?"
The mech glanced at her. "Sure."
"Why did you become a decepticon?"
Knock Out was silent for a moment before looking forward again. "Because I believed in Megatron's cause. I was intrigued by his early speeches and knew I wanted to be a part of it."
"Do you still believe in it?"
"A part of me does yes. But I think over time with the constant fighting and bloodshed, it's become more about self-preservation."
Thinking about how Megatron treats his subordinates, Stormracer had to ask. "Has Megatron ever... hurt you?"
Knock Out glanced at her for a second before looking away. He then let out a vent. "Mostly it's just threats. But it also depends on what mood he's in. Starscream was no better when he was in charge."
Stormracer frowned at this, angered that anyone would treat their subordinates in such a manner. "Why stay with the decepticons if they treat you so badly?"
Knock Out raised his optical ridge at her. "And where else would I go? I can't exactly pack up and leave. Megatron would have me hunted down."
"I wo- we would protect you," she said, "we wouldn't let Megatron near you. You would be under Team Prime's protection."
Knock Out frowned as he got up. "Hmph! More like I'd be their prisoner."
Stormracer got up as well as he walked away. "At least you would be far away from that monster. Leaders shouldn't treat their own so horribly. Optimus always treats us with kindness because he actually cares. He teaches us how to work as a team. That means having each other's backs. Something Megatron knows nothing about."
Knock Out stopped and turned to look at her. "I doubt they would bother with me. Besides, I prefer being on the winning team."
"But what's the point of being on the winning team if they disrespect you?" Stormracer asked as she walked over to the decepticon.
"The point is I'll still be alive."
Stormracer stopped in front of him. "And then what? You spend the rest of your life working for those who treat you like scrap? Is that what you really want?"
Knock Out frowned as he looked away, not wanting to answer her.
Seeing he didn't want to speak any more about it, she let out a vent. "If you ask me, Megatron doesn't deserve a medic as good as you."
Knock Out's frown dropped at the compliment. Smirking, he looked at her. "You really think so?"
She smiled. "Well, you did keep me from dying, and fixed my wheel strut."
The decepticon smugly grinned as he inspected his digits. "I am that good of a doctor, aren't I."
The femme chuckled. "Well if you're going to get a big head about it-"
"Nonono. You already said it. No taking it back."
Stormracer couldn't help but laugh.
Knock Out chuckled along. "But I did need to hear that. Thanks."
She smiled at him. "Any time."
The clouds then rolled away, revealing the full moon in the sky. Both turned to look as it shined over the lake, making the water shimmer in its light. The two cybertronians stared at the view in awe.
"Isn't that a sight," Knock Out said.
Stormracer smiled. "I love this planet."
Knock Out glanced at her. The moon was reflecting off her teal armor, causing it to glimmer. Her blue optics glowed brightly as she admired the view. He found himself staring in awe at the femme before she glanced back at him. Immediately he glanced away, not wanting her to know he was staring.
Stormracer blushed when she noticed him looking at her. She didn't say anything as she bashfully glanced away.
Both were quiet for a while before Knock Out cleared his throat. "Well... um... tonight was fun."
"Yeah," Stormracer agreed as she glanced at him. "Was a blast!"
Both nervously glanced away from each other's gaze. Stormracer shyly held her arm as Knock Out scratched the back of his helm.
"Well, I think I've tormented you long enough," Knock Out said, "I uh... should be getting back."
"Y-yeah," Stormracer stuttered, "me too. You take care of yourself."
Knock Out nodded at her. "You as well."
The two slowly turned to leave in opposite directions. Knock Out however stopped and looked over his shoulder at the femme. A smirk then formed on his face as he turned around and walked towards her.
"Hey, Stormy," he said.
Stormracer turned around. But as she did, he pulled her in and kissed her. But it wasn't a quick soft kiss that Stormracer gave him. This one was... more. The femme's optics widened as her spark beat loudly. Her legs nearly buckled as she held onto Knock Out. After a few more seconds, he pulled away and grinned at her.
"Now we're even," he said with a wink.
Stormracer stood there dumfounded as he transformed and drove away. Her spark was beating loudly in her chest as her face heated up. After a moment, one word managed to escape her mouth.
"Whoa."
Knock Out found himself back on the main road as he drove off. He smiled to himself about the evening he had. But it wasn't long before he grew concerned.
He was seeing Stormracer differently. What started off as them just talking with each other, grew since then. It wasn't just about him needing someone to talk to. It became something else. As much as he tried telling himself it was nothing, he couldn't deny it anymore. And it scared him. If Megatron ever learned he grew feelings for an autobot, he would surely be terminated by the warlord.
He groaned as he accelerated. "Knock Out, what did you get yourself into?"

(Jasper, Nevada)
It was two in the morning in Jasper. Sierra was sound asleep in her bed when her phone rang, waking her up. Letting out a yawn, she grabbed it from her nightstand and answered it.
"Hello?" she asked groggily.
"Hey, Sierra, it's me," Stormracer said through the other side.
Hearing her guardian's voice, the redhead sat up. "Storm?"
"I'm sorry to wake you, but I really need someone to talk to right now."
Sierra grew concerned. "Is everything okay? What's wrong?"
"You mind if I swing by? I'd rather not talk over the phone."
"Uh, yeah sure."
Sierra waited until she got word that Stormracer was out front. Putting on her jacket, she quietly made her way down the hall to avoid waking up her parents. Once she made it outside, she hurried over to the teal car parked on the street.
"Hey," Sierra said as she climbed into Stormracer's passenger seat.
"Thanks for stepping out," the car said.
"What's this about?"
The femme vented. "You remember when you asked me if I have feelings for Knock Out?"
The red head raised her eyebrow at her. "Yeah?"
"... I think I do."
And that was chapter 52! I hope you liked it. Finally, Stormracer and Knock Out are realizing their feelings for each other. But what will happen when the others find out? Dun dun daaaa!
Next chapter will be New Recruit where of course Smokescreen arrives! I can't wait to type up that one. Thank you all for reading and hopefully I will update again soon. Until next time! God bless!
