I chuckled a bit, "True, very true". We continued walking and soon a wooden wall and gate was in front of me.
"HALT! What is your business here traveller?", A Burly man wearing basic armor approached me, he had what looked to be a Spear in hand, but at his waist was a pistol. He stood maybe 6 foot tall and was maybe just under half as wide, "My name is Odin, and I am looking for my brother", the man looked apprehensive at first, but relented and stepped aside, allowing me entry.
"Watch yourself, understood? Athera is relatively new and we haven't had any crime since it's founding, nearly 20 years ago". As I walked passed the Gates, I quickly let out a gasp. A crater lay in the center of the town, and right in the center, was the Parthenon. It was barely recognizable, but the architecture and layout still stood, but instead of a statue of Athena, there was a Statue of Poseidon, and this statue was intanct.
A man approached me from the side, "Taking in the scenary huh? This temple was discovered 24 years ago, 4 years before the founding of Athera", I looked over at the man, he looked quite old, probably in his 70s. "Hold old is it? how long has it been here?", The man let out a chuckle, "It actually dates back several million years... scientists are baffled how it hasn't completely degraded. not to mention the odd energy coming from the statue". I looked at the statue and focused, and sure enough, I could sense Godly energy leaking off the statue, though it was very faint. "Some believe that the statue is a prison, others believe it was blessed", "and what do you believe?". The Man looked over at me with a twinkle in his eyes, "I believe there is more than meets the eye, young one".
As the Old man turns and walks away, I send a small blessing to him, curing him of his arthiritis. He let's out a gasp and turns towards me, but I am already turning away and walking towards the statue, where several architects are mapping out the ruins and drawing up what it could have once looked like, some others are also looking around, looking at ancient tablets and such. As I approached, an architect approached and showed me a paper, "Here, what do you think of this?". I glanced down and saw a very trashy looking version of a church mixed with a longhouse, but with no walls. "I think you need to see a doctor, because there is no way something like that is what this temple could have looked like". As I walked away, "Temple?". I chuckled as he hadn't even thought of this place as a Temple.
Soon, I stood in front of statue, "Hello... brother... I know you can't hear me, probably, but I think it's time to wake up..". I raised my hand and touched the foot of the statue, several people ran over but were suddenly blown back as my divine energy flowed out from me and I grew to nearly 10 feet tall, and for some reason, I was wearing a greek toga. "You two... what have you done to this glor-", The mayor stopped dead and looked at Poseidon, realizing he looked exactly like the statue. Poseidon let out a chuckle, "You were saying something, young one?", The mayor quickly recomposed himself, "I was asking what has become of this glorious temple... what the two of you done?". It was me who responded, "This temple, was defiled ages ago.. and turned into a cage, for my brother here.", The Mayor looked very curious. "A Cage? who would use an entire temple as a cage for a single person?", "A God", it was Poseidon who responded, before flashing in colour. Poseidon was covered in a Greek style Toga, a Trident in his hand, and an Ocean Blue crown upon his head, "I.. am Poseidon, God of the Seas, Waters, and Life".
At his proclamation, countless people bowed to him and began praying. I kinda felt jealous, but soon the Mayor turned to me, "and you? perhaps a powerful worshipper? maybe a demigod from long ago?", I let out a chuckle. Well, That was a lot, As I turned back to everyone, I noticed they were all a lot smaller. I had grown, probably now standing at 15 feet tall. Titans... There may be more titans but I don't know where they could be or if they actually exist". Poseidon looked at me, with a bored expression, "You always were the talker... weren't you...", I shook my head, "And you were always the one to run off to the nearest beach party".
We looked at each other for a moment before laughing once more, "I guess I'll leave you here, this place would do you well to rebuild and create a new temple, maybe an entrance to an Oceanic kingdom you can build... But there is some bad news, most of the species we had in the past or gone... I have read about references to the Spirits in Menagerie, and something called Leviathan, which I'm hoping is that thing you made when you first became a Major God way back when". Poseidon looked at me once more after calming down from his laughter, "Oh? Levi lives? Well... hopefully he's not one of those... grimm... If he is, I'll be really fucking pissed..."
We spoke for another 10 ish minutes before I waved goodbye to Poseidon and launched back towards the west. After flying for a few minutes, I noticed that Neptune was on my back, "is there a reason why you're so quiet?", "Yeah... you became a Minor God... You're going to have to create a divine species soon.. such as Poseidon on your Earth had the mermaids or Cyclops... You'll need something to compliment your abilities". I thought for a few moments, "The Divine winds... North, East, West, and South... You remember those minor gods from Greek and Roman mythology? I might try to recreate them here... but with new names and better personality..."
