We're back on chapter twenty-seven.
REMINDER: I DO NOT OWN LEGEND OF KORRA OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS.
Outside the Sato Estate, Korra walked to a bison to go to the eastern Air Temple.
"Are you sure you can go so quickly?" Asami said.
"I don't have much time left, Asami. The Harmonic Convergence is only weeks away." said Korra. "I have to close the spirit portal before that happens."
"Or fuse with him and become an Anti-Avatar? A god?" Asami asked.
"If that's my choice, then I'll take those chances." Korra determined.
"Okay, just be careful, Korra." Asami said.
Korra walked to Asami and gave her a hug.
"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Just keep Mako out of my way." Korra said.
Korra went atop a flying bison missing a part of its right horn, flying through the sky.
Varrick walked up to Asami and place his hand onto her shoulder.
"Is she really gonna be a god?" he asked.
"I'm not so sure. But he has to make a choice to defeat Vaatu." Asami answered.
Unknown to them, Sarlaq was watching what was happening.
"She drank it." Sarlaq whispered. "Now, I wait for her to open that portal."
He chuckled before he vanished into purple smoke.
At the Eastern Air Temple. Jinora was playing with a light green dragonfly bunny spirit.
"Gotcha!" She jumps and tries to grab the spirit, but it escapes. "Furry-Foot, come back."
The spirit returns and lands on Jinora's head; four other dragonfly bunny spirits come close. Jinora laughs.
"Jinora, there you are. Come on, everyone's waiting."
Tenzin called out as Jinora shows that she was standing all by herself, indicating that she was the only one who can see the spirits.
"Were you playing with someone?" Tenzin asked.
"Oh, just some... imaginary friends." Jinora giggles as Furry-Foot appears on Tenzin's head while he walks away.
Inside the temple, where Air Acolytes were standing in the gallery. And at courtyard, where Tenzin's family was gathered. Tenzin and Jinora walk in.
"Bumi, stop telling lies." Kya said.
"It's true. I once beat an earthbender in a rock-throwing contest! I have the trophy to prove it." Bumi said.
"All right, who's ready for an exciting tour of the Eastern Air Temple? We've got a lot to see today, including ancient statues, ancient gardens, and the meditation hall used by ancient airbenders." Tenzin said as he sees Ikki and Meelo, who were obviously bored.
Ikki got bored and disinterested. "Yay. Old things." she said before Korra enters the courtyard.
Tenzin was in disbelief. "Korra?"
"Korra! Yay, Korra! Korra's back!" Jinora, Ikki and Meelo shouts excitedly as they run forward and hug Korra.
"What are you doing here?" Pema asked.
"Oh, I've missed you!" Ikki said
"And how did you know where to find us?" Kya asked.
"Tenzin's itinerary. We went over it like a hundred times before we left Republic City." Korra answered.
"See? This is why schedules are important." Tenzin said to his siblings.
"It's so great to see you all again." Korra said.
"It's great to see you, too, but why aren't you training at the South Pole?"
Korra gets slightly confused. "Wait, you don't know about the Civil War?"
Tenzin gets surprised. "What? No. We've been out of touch with the outside world since we started our vacation." Tenzin said.
"Tenzin's idea. What happened?" Bumi asked.
"So much. I-I don't know where to start."
"Just tell us everything, Korra." Tenzin said.
"Everything?"
Korra takes a deep breath.
"Okay. I opened a spirit portal at the South Pole, but then Unalaq turned out to be a bad guy and wanted to take control of the South, so I sort of started a Civil War, but when I went to find some help, I was attacked by my cousins, and I met my warlock uncle, he gave me a potion, and then I met the first Avatar, and then I realized I shouldn't have opened the portal in the first place, and now I need to close it again!"
Everybody was surprised with Korra telling Unalaq's plans to free Vaatu.
"I knew this would happen." Tenzin said.
At the garden where Tenzin and Korra seated.
"I can't believe you made a deal with Sarlaq." Tenzin said. "Do you know how dangerous he is?"
"I didn't have any choices." Korra said.
"So Avatar Wan imprisoned this dark spirit Vaatu in the Spirit World?" Tenzin asked.
"Yes, and now I think my uncle and his partner are trying to free him. And fuse with him to become a Dark Avatar." Korra answered.
"What? I knew Unalaq was hungry for power, but never realized how far he would go to get it." Tenzin said.
"This is all my fault." Korra said in guilt.
"No, don't blame yourself. This is Unalaq's doing. Now, we must focus on setting things right before he can do any more damage." Tenzin said.
"Thank you."
"So, you need to close the Southern portal, but if Unalaq's army controls the South, how are we going to get to it?" Tenzin wondered.
"I thought about that. My best chance to close the portal is from the inside. I have to enter the Spirit World." Korra said.
"A journey to the Spirit World. All my years of spiritual training have prepared me for this moment." Tenzin said before he stands. "I will help you. Today, we enter the Spirit World."
Korra stands up and hugged Tenzin.
Meanwhile, at the Southern Spirit Portal, where Unalaq, his wife and his children were standing.
"Father, what are we doing here?" Desna asked.
"You're here to straighten out the mess you caused when you failed to capture the Avatar." Unalaq answered. "And without her, we can't open the portal."
"I told you, it wasn't our fault." Desna said.
"You're right. It was my fault for letting Sarlaq get to her before I did. Harmonic Convergence is almost upon us. This is my opportunity to change the world." Unalaq said.
"And what of Sarlaq?" Malina asked.
"Once I fuse with Vaatu, I will imprison him in the tree the same way Avatar Wan did with Vaatu." Unalaq determined.
"We'll make it up to you, Father." said Eska.
"Good, because we'll need your help to open the northern portal."
"I thought only the Avatar could do it." Malina said.
"I believe there is another way."
Unalaq and his family entered the portal. They emerge to the Spirit World.
"This way." Unalaq said.
The group walks up to the tree where Vaatu was imprisoned as they look at the closed northern portal.
"There it is, the northern portal."
"It's beautiful." Malina said while looking around. "This is the same area where Wan and Raava battled with Vaatu ten thousand years ago. I've never heard such stories about the Avatar like this."
"You have no idea, Malina." Unalaq said.
Meanwhile, at the Meanwhile, at Republic City, at the movie set, the filming set of The Adventures of Nuktuk: Hero of the South. Bolin starts screaming. Dressed as Nuktuk, suspended upside-down by props resembling eagle talons.
"Cut! Okay, that's lunch, everyone."
A bell rings and the scene fades to where all the crew members have left the set. Only Bolin was left alone, while he was still suspended by the props.
"Hello? Anyone? Nuktuk's still up here, all alone." A door slams, and Asami, Varrick and Zhu Li enters the set. "Asami! Varrick! Hey, what are you doing here?"
"Varrick invited me to watch some of the filming." Asami said before she looks around, confused. "Are you filming right now?"
"Right now? Nope. We're uh... we're at lunch." Bolin said.
"I'll try to get him down. Zhu Li, do the thing." Varrick said as Zhu Li goes up to help Bolin.
Mako walks in. "Asami, Varrick, there you are. Is Bolin around?"
"Up here." Bolin called out while Zhu Li struggles to free him.
"Good. I've got something to tell you both."
"I… Gotcha!" Zhu Li managed to free Bolin before plunging down.
"Ahh! Ow, aww. Oh, I got to stop doing my own stunts." Bolin said.
"I have a feeling about the whole scheme. It must be a ploy. Someone wants Republic City to go to war, and they wants control of the businesses that stand to profit the most from it. Whoever it is, they already had all the shipping. All they needed was Future Industries."
"Mako, you seemed stressed." Asami said concerned.
"I am stressed!" Mako said.
"Uh… about your breakup with Korra?" Varrick asked nervously.
"Tha-that has got nothing to do with it." Mako said.
"Right." Zhu Li said.
"Look, the detonators Varrick uses in his movers are exactly like the one I found at the Cultural Center attack. And those explosions were exactly like the ones the captain reported when Asami's shipment was hijacked."
"What?" Varrick said.
"Anyone could have gotten their hands on one of those detonators. Sounds like you've had a pretty busy week. Maybe you just need to relax." Asami said as she puts her hand on his chest.
"I wouldn't recommend it. Do you have anything else?" Varrick asked.
"Your stuff was in high security, right?" Mako asked.
"Yes, still. Why?" Varrick asked.
"I think someone's trying to frame you." Mako said.
"How? They can't just magically steal the detonators." Bolin said.
Then, Mako had a theory in his mind. He might be figuring out who was the mastermind behind the whole scheme.
"Magic… Of course. That's it." Mako said. "That's the piece of the puzzle.
"What's it?" Bolin asked. "What did I say?"
"I fill you in later. I've got a magic man to visit." Mako turns around and walks off.
Bolin stared after him along with Asami, Varrick and Zhu Li.
In Sarlaq's lair, the warlock himself was sitting on his chair, watching Mako through the crystal ball, in anger in his eyes and face.
"Nice work, detective." he said mockingly. "And I was getting close. So close. The little street rat! Oh, he's better than I thought."
It was Sarlaq who was behind the whole scheme. He hired thugs to take down the ships, exploding the Cultural Center, and steal the equipment from Future Industries. And he was the hooded figure that hired the Tripple Threats to keep Mako, Korra, and Asami distracted.
He stands up from his chair and walked to his desk and grabbed a bag.
"Harrghh… In this rate, he'll get this trace right to me, and he, his idiot brother, and his friends would interfere with my plans for sure!"
Sarlaq puts some spellbooks, potions, voodoos, and other stuff he needed in his bag until it was full.
"Well, it's time Sarlaq took matter into his own hands!"
He stomped his foot and magical purple flame was around him without burning him.
"Raava and Vaatu's powers will be mine. And then I'll make my brothers pay. I'll see them crumble into dust, and I'll rule the whole universe!"
Sarlaq laughed evilly as he was beginning to transform. He puts on glasses and his beard disappeared, and he grows a moustache. He transformed into President Raiko while still laughing.
WHOA! What a twist, right? Sarlaq is the mastermind in this universe I've created, and he disguise himself as Raiko, like Azula did in the Balance Universe.
Chapter twenty-eight is coming.
