Severus' POV
It was barely five in the morning when Rose woke me up.
After I changed her nappies, I carried her down to the kitchen.
"Ditzy."
A house-elf popped in.
"Prep me a bottle of milk for her," I said.
"Yes master," Ditzy replied before snapping her fingers to make milk.
It's been three days since that Samhain night.
For the wizarding world, it means that the Dark Lord was defeated and go on celebrate.
However, they did not care about the people who died there.
After my agreement with Lucia, I claimed my lordship and owned a property, including a manor and it's lot.
When Rose and I first came there, we were welcomed by its residents; the House-Elves, clad in formal uniforms with the house crests, waiting for command.
My first order was to clean the manor and prep lunch for us.
One of the elves, Yeva, is named my personal elf and nanny to Rose which is a good thing since she is well behaved.
The problem is that when I tried calling her name, she doesn't respond.
I made a scan to ensure that she isn't deaf, and lucky she's not.
"Here you go, master."
I snap out of my thoughts when Ditzy called me with a bottle in hand.
"Thank you, Ditzy. You may go," I said, taking the bottle before the elf was gone.
I put Rose on a high chair and give her the bottle which she takes it calmly.
As I head to the counter to start prepping my breakfast, an elf popped in.
"Master, you is have a floo call at the Entry Hall," said Lori.
"Thank you, Lori," I replied.
"Yeva."
Yeva popped in.
"Please watch Rose for me."
"Yes, master."
I head to the Entrance Hall and approached the fireplace which is flared with green flames.
Peeking into the flames is Lucia's face.
"What brings you here, Lucia? I was nearly making breakfast." I asked.
"Severus, there is someone who wishes to speak with you. It's about your daughter," Lucia answered.
"My daughter? What is this person on about?"
"He wants to speak with you personally. Do you mind if you could step through. Oh, and bring your daughter too so she can have a playdate?"
I nodded in agreement.
"Yeva, bring me Rose."
Seconds later, Yeva popped in with Rose in her arms who suddenly burps.
I picked up my daughter and glanced back at Lucia.
"Step back. We're coming through."
As soon as her face disappeared into the flames, I called out the location.
"Potter Manor."
Upon stepping through the flames, we find ourselves in Lucia's office with the owner in question present with her son on her hips.
"Here, let me clean the soot for you," Lucia said as she casted a spell and cleaned all the soot off of us.
"Thank you, Lucia," I replied.
"Now, where is this person who wishes to talk to me?"
"In the Dining Hall, arguing with his colleague the whole morning. Luckily, breakfast is nearly ready."
We then head straight to the Dining Hall, and as we're near by the entrance, voices can be heard; two men arguing and two women sighed.
We entered the hall and what I find are four portraits of the Hogwarts founders hanging side by side on our left.
"I can't believe that old coot would just snoop around and make our world his creation like an Egyptian God!" said the man in green robes.
"I know, right? Pfft! I wish that man wouldn't have been born," the man in red armor responded.
"Gentlemen, settle down, please? There's a child in this room," the woman in blue robes said, gesturing at James who the elf was feeding.
"Not to mention the Lady of the House has a guest here," the woman in yellow robes replied, gesturing at us.
"Pip, please prep another high chair for my guest's child," Lucia said and another elf popped in with a high chair to which I put Rose down with.
Soon, breakfast is served, and we are seated at the dining table.
I cleared my throat to catch everyone's attention.
"Let me start something. Which of you four wishes to speak with me?" I asked the founders.
"That would be me," the man in green robes answered.
"Very well. What can I do for you, Salazar Slytherin?"
Lord Slythin cleared his throat and begin to speak.
"Well, my colleagues and I just recently learned about what happened that night, and I would like to know about your daughter's lordship."
My eyebrows shot wide.
"My daughter's lordship?" I echoed.
"Yes. You see, when that so-called Dark Lord was a student at Hogwarts, he claimed that he's my descendant. From what I know, one of my descendants were married to the Gaunt family who unfortunately no longer with the wizarding world."
"I've heard about that one," Lucia commented.
"My father told me once about how the Dark Lord killed his entire family for abandoning him."
"That's true. Well, when Lucia told me about how he was vanquished and your daughter survived, I beginning to think that she had now become my heiress by Right of Conquest."
Color me shock.
Rose is a Slytherin heir?
By Right of Conquest?
"What?" I spoke, stunned.
"That's right," Salazar replied.
"How was that possible?"
"Well, Lily must have done something to protect your daughter. But my question is 'How?'"
"You may have a point Salazar," Rowena said.
"It is impossible for a magical to defend from the Killing Curse, but if this little child survived, Lily must had used an ancient spell to do so."
"We can't know for sure, Rowena," Godric replied.
Thinking about it, it could only mean one thing, but I don't think I could go back there no matter what.
I was about to reply when someone unfamiliar spoke.
"Please excuse Dobby."
