Chapter Summary: Hermione is caught by Severus while falling asleep in the library.*
HGHGHGHGHG
Hermione Granger was sitting in the library doing homework. More precisely, she was trying to finish her homework tha she forgot. And she certainly didn't know it was time for the curfew. She was too busy doing her homework.
She turned another page from the book and quickly continued to write. Her eyes betrayed her and continued to close. After all, she always got up early and that made her sleepy.
After forcefully typing a few more words, she decided to close her eyes for a brief moment. After all, she was going to rest her eyes for a while and continue with her homework.
But things did not go as expected. While she was trying to rest her eyes, she was really asleep.
Severus Snape looked around as his cloak swayed behind him. If anyone is here after the curfew, it would be a pleasure to score points. -Especially from Gryffindor-
He stopped with a low voice and began to check his surroundings. It was in front of the library and there was definitely someone here.
He entered the library silently, like a hunter watching his prey. He looked at each episode, saw a dim light in the last episode. He looked over the side of the shelf to see who it was.
Hermione Granger.
She was sleeping.
And what fell was the book in her lap.
Severus certainly did not believe she was asleep. Pretty sure she was pretending to be asleep, he walked silently towards her. He stopped right in front of her and slowly knelt down. He studied her face for a brief moment, the senior girl who had grown so much compared to the first year he had arrived.
Also, the girl was definitely really sleeping. Because instead of breathing fast and often, she was taking regular and long breaths.
The all-knowing witch, he thought.
"Miss Granger." He was happy for a brief moment because it would wake her up and score points in Gryffindor. "Miss Granger." He called once more, but the girl did not wake up.
He rolled him eyes and put her hand on her arm and briefly shook him. "Wake up witch!" he said sternly.
Hermione opened her eyes in surprise. After blinking a few times, she saw the man in front of him. She held her breath as her eyes widened. "P-profesör." she said in a shaky voice, afraid of being scolded and losing points from her house.
Severus Snape ignored the girl's fear. "What are you doing outside on curfew, Miss Granger?" he asked sternly.
He realized that her hand was still on his arm. He continued to stare at him as he slowly pulled her hand away.
Hermione swallowed hard. She didn't know what to answer. "I was doing homework, I didn't realize time was running out."
Severus stood up with support from his knee. Hermione quickly stood up. She looked at the man a few feet away and for a moment looked head to toe. Severus frowned at her gaze. "But you were asleep when I came, Miss Granger."
Hermione cursed herself again in her mind. "I was really doing homework, I didn't realize I was sleeping." she didn't want the professor to score points from his own house.
Severus looked at her from head to foot, noticing that his hands were shaking with fear. "Pack your things and go to your room." He said, turning around and walking towards the door.
Hermione was happy as she bent over and gathered her things. Because the Professor couldn't get points from her house.
"By the way," Severus paused and turned to her. Hermione looked at him. "30 points from Gryffindor."
Hermione grimaced, she had definitely spoken too soon. Severus watched her with amusement, turned around and left the library.
"Bastard," Hermione muttered angrily as she packed her things and left the library. She frowned, checking her surroundings.
She hated Snape.
She screamed as she turned to the other side as she climbed the stairs. Because headmaster Dumbledore was standing on the sidelines. Dumbledore silenced her with a short spell. Dumbledore approached her with a fatherly smile as Hermione put her hand to her heart. "Miss Granger?"
Hermione spoke, but no sound came out. When Dumbledore lifted the spell, "You scared me, Headmaster Dumbledore." she said breathlessly.
"Sorry to scare you, but why are you out during curfew?"
Hermione swallowed and lowered her head. "I was doing homework in the library, I didn't realize the time was running out." she looked again. "Professor Snape has now broken 30 points."
Dumbledore's smile widened. Of course he would score points, because that was Severus Snape. They turned to the library side with the sound of distant footsteps. Severus Snape had quickly turned to the library side.
He let out the breath he had been holding when he saw Miss Granger and Dumbledore. He thought something had happened to Miss Granger. He approached with the same facial expression and started to climb the stairs. "Professor Dumbledore."
"Professor Snape," said Dumbledore.
Snape approached them and stood beside her. He turned his gaze to the girl from the side and below. "May I know why you're yelling, Miss Granger?" he asked sternly.
Hermione turned her gaze to Dumbledore. She almost begged her to save her with his eyes. Dumbledore continued to smile. "Screamed because of me. He was scared when she suddenly appeared."
"I told you to go to your room!" he said, looking nervously at her from the side and above.
Hermione rolled he eyes in anger before she saw it. She lifted his head and looked at her. "I was going to my room and he suddenly appeared in front of me."
Dumbledore watched with pleasure as they argued. "Don't fight guys." When he said that, they both turned to him. "It's not Mss Granger's fault, son. Please don't be mad at her."
Severus Snape gave Dumbledore his usual look. "To your room, Miss Granger."
Hermione looked at him for a moment and turned to the headmaster. "Good night, Headmaster Dumbledore."
Dumbledore shifted his gaze from Severus to the girl. "Good night, girl." he said, smiling.
Hermione nodded with a hearty smile and turned around. Two men followed her with their gazes as she climbed the stairs.
Severus' brows furrowed as Dumbledore was still smiling. Without knowing why, he had asked her to give him the smile he had just had.
Dumbledore turned to see Severus still staring at her. The smile on his face got bigger. "Miss Granger is gone, why are you still looking at her?" he asked.
Severus instantly frowned and turned to the old mage. "I was trying to make sure you were gone."
Dumbledore put his hand on the man's arm and moved. They started walking together. "Come on, Severus, I'm past Harry, but I can see you're more interested in Miss Granger."
"I'm not particularly interested in Miss Granger, Dumbledore!" he said angrily.
"Then why are you so angry?"
Severus took a quick breath. "Because you're saying something nonsense."
The old mage chuckled as they walked down the hallway together. "Sometimes you forget that I am a sage."
Severus immediately turned his gaze to him. "What are you talking about?" he asked in surprise.
Dumbledore took his hand from Severus' arm. "No matter how much you object, son, you have feelings for that girl."
Severus frowned greatly. "Emotion? What are you talking about?" he asked sternly.
Dumbledore's smile showed that he knew something. "Some things are left behind, son." he said, and Severus disappeared before he could say anything.
Severus glared angrily at the place of Dumbledore, who had disappeared. "You old man!" He said and turned around and continued walking at a fast pace. 'Bullshit, total bullshit.'
He was walking so fast that he had never thought of walking so fast before. His intention was to go to his own room, but where he stood now was the Gryffindor section.
Hermione was rushing up the stairs. She was unaware of Severus Snape, who was watching her as she said the password.
Severus turned around as the door to the room closed. "Absolute nonsense! An all-knowing witch? Total nonsense!" he said and started walking towards him room.
On the one hand, Hermione, upset at losing points from her own house, and on the other, Severus Snape, trying not to think about what the old wizard had said.
Dumbledore, the old but wise wizard. Everything was changing and he was happy about it.
