Johnny Blaze sighed as he hopped off his custom motorcycle. Since the day he made the deal to save his father, his life's been turned upside down... sometimes he wishes he never made the deal in the first place, but knew nothing could take back what was done and as such just learned to accept his fate
At eighteen years old, Johnny finds himself in Tokyo, Japan. There was too many memories back home... he just couldn't stay any longer, leaving without saying goodbye and left with what little belongings he held
Tugging the backpack on, Johnny sighed and made his way into the nice brick warehouse he'd be calling home. As long as it had a roof and a bed, he didn't really care. He made his way over towards the elevator and slowly opened the door when he reached the top floor. Johnny parked his bike near the entrance, taking his black helmet off as he looked around the room
Nodding in approval, he saw the bed and wanted nothing more than to just have a good nights sleep, but he still needed to unpack and think about getting a job to help pay for anything he'll be needing... perhaps he should have saved more of the money he'd saved up
He'd thought about college during the ride over, but he didn't have much in terms of education. He had been taught pretty much by his father since they were always on the road due to being part of a traveling carnival
Turning towards the window, Johnny saw the sun slowly disappearing and sighed as he remembered the nights when he wasn't able to control the transformation into the Ghost Rider. He's glad both he and Zarathos had been able to reach a truce since they were bound together for who knows how long. Better than having to battle for control everyday between them both
Come to think of it, Zarathos had been acting really weird since they reached Tokyo. He hasn't said a word or done anything. If Johnny couldn't still feel him within, he'd have been sure that the demon had left
Deciding not to question this, Johnny took off his backpack and turned it upside down as various items ranging from clothing to pictures were seen scattered on the bed. It didn't take long to put everything where he wanted. Looking at his phone, Johnny took note of the time and decided he should grab something to eat since it was getting late
Grabbing the helmet he'd thrown onto the couch, Johnny made his way to the elevator once again. Locking the door behind him, Johnny took off into the night, no destination in mind
Johnny looked around and wondered if there were any places still open at this time. If he doesn't find something he'll just have to make do with the little food he has left in his backpack
Seems his question was answered as he saw a few lights coming from a small café. Seeing as he's not been able to find any other place still open at this time, Johnny parked his motorcycle, wrapped a chain around the tree to keep it from being stolen and made his way up the steps
Suddenly he could feel Zarathos lurking in the back of his mind 'Look who decided to come back to the land of the living. Almost thought you'd left and gone home' Johnny joked as he wondered what could have caused the café to gain the attention of the spirit within him
'Do not joke Johnny Blaze. You know as well as I do that Mephisto has bonded us together. Try as we might have before, it's clear we cannot live separately' Zarathos spoke with Johnny not even flinching at the sound of the demon talking, already use to the presence
'To what do I owe this little chat after being moody this entire time' Johnny said rolling his eyes
'There is something different in Tokyo... This whole place is unnatural. There is sin and innocent blood spilled by beings who are neither human nor demon'
Johnny looked skeptical, but knew by now that Zarathos hasn't technically been wrong... only once or twice, one of which involved a toaster being possessed 'Fine I'll keep my guard up if I'll make you feel better'
Opening the door, Johnny saw three people inside. One was an old man with a barista uniform behind the counter. Another a black haired teen around his age with a mug of coffee in his hands. Lastly was a young female teenager with one half of her face covered by her dark hair, sitting farther in the café with a guarded and hostile look when he noticed her gaze
Seemed maybe he was wrong about it still being open since it was quite dark "I'm sorry... I thought the place was open since I saw a few lights turned on" Johnny awkwardly says in Japanese as the three look at him "Maybe I'll just go..." he continued, backing up slowly
"Did you wish to get something young man?" the older man, which Johnny took as the owner of the place, asked
'Well it's either I hope he doesn't mind the intrusion or eat expired junk food' the stunt cyclist thinks, closing his eyes as he could feel Zarathos want to reach out and read the trio before him
"I mean if it's not too much trouble to ask you for something to eat. I didn't realize it'd be this late when I arrived" Johnny says, slipping into the seat beside the black haired teen
"I believe there are some leftovers if you wish to grab a bite. I shall go see what we currently have in the back"
Watching him leave, Johnny could feel the stares of the other two in the room as he turned around "Yes?"
The teen beside him locked eyes for a moment before looking away. Johnny watched him grab his mug as he gulped the rest of the coffee with one slip
'Innocent. This boy was a victim to much abuse as a child and seems to have been victim yet again recently' Zarathos spoke as Johnny felt bad for the teen before him having seen a few flashes of his life, but what the demon said next confused him 'There is something different about him though'
He didn't really get to say anything to the teen since as soon as he'd finished his cup of coffee the owner returned with a piece of cake for him before placing a package before the teen
"What is that?" the teen asked, confusion in his voice
"When you need more don't hesitate to come back. There is plenty where that came from" was all the owner said, not really answering the question
Johnny winced as he felt Zarathos push his attention to the small package on the counter. He wondered what was so bad about it that had gained the attention of the spirit yet again
Deciding he'd ask Zarathos for information later, Johnny ate the small piece of cake and commented on how good it tasted. He watched the boy slowly leave the café, package gripped tightly in his hands without saying another word
Finishing the glass of water he'd just been given, Johnny took out his wallet and flipped it over. He sighed as he realized he needed to get a job and fast. He was running out of cash!
"Hope this is enough to cover for the late night food and drink. Sorry it's American money and also again for the intrusion" Johnny apologized as the female glared at him, something he ignored as the owner waved off his concerns
Thanking them for the hospitality, Johnny left the small café. He needed to get some answers from Zarathos about his reactions in there and better where no one could see him
Back inside the café, Touka Kirishima narrowed her eyes as she thought about the teen in the leather jacket. He'd appeared out of nowhere and not to mention, there was something weird-no different about him that the ghoul intended to find out
But first she'll have to deal with the half-breed who seems like he won't be eating what's inside the package anytime soon. Idiot
Happy holidays and present to all of you! I have no clue as to how this became an actually plot or anything, but here it is. So Johnny and Zarathos have an understanding in this cause I wanted them to not be at odds in this fanfic and I will be taking elements from basically the comics, any shows Ghost Rider has appeared in and the 2 movies. Since Johnny is younger than his comic counterpart in this fanfic, he'll be somewhat OCC as a result. Any feedback you have is welcome like always :)
