Miyako felt her patience growing thin. "Do you really not know or are you playing dumb to stall for time?"
"I hate wasting time, so I would have to go with the first option, Miyako-san. Now can you please tell me what I did wrong?"
"Fine. I'll play your little game, Aqua." The woman leaned back on her chair and folded her arms across her ample chest. "Did you think I wouldn't notice?"

"You and Akane-chan! A few of our employees have seen you two these past few days! According to them, you were together late at night, when you were supposed to be at home already."
"We were, so what?" Aqua shrugged, seeing nothing wrong with his actions.
"The two of you are no longer in a relationship, right?" Miyako asked, earning a nod from the young man. "Then I see no reason for you to be with her so late in the evening."
"So what if I'm not dating her anymore? Is it wrong for me to spend time with Akane as a friend? You make it seem like we can't see each other anymore."
"It doesn't matter what your intentions were. You were still out at night with a girl, young man. Who knows what could happen to the two of you while you're out there, all alone? Or are you too dense to even think of the consequences?"
"You don't need to worry about us, Miyako-san. I can protect Akane," Aqua tried to reassure her, but Miyako didn't look convinced.
"You sound really confident while you're saying that, but do your words even hold any ounce of weight in them? She's not even your girlfriend anymore."
Aqua raised an eyebrow at her. "You don't think I can look after her just because we're not dating anymore?"
"Not at night, Aqua. Not when it's dark out there and no other person can see you. You yourself might not even be able to see clearly. Are you really that confident that you can keep an eye on Akane and make sure she's safe?"
"Oh my god… one of the employees saw us… we're going to get caught…"

She looked like she was about to have a panic attack at any moment, if it weren't for the young man who was holding her hand in an attempt to comfort her. Never in a million years could they have foresaw that an employee of Strawberry Productions would see them together in the dead of night. While Akane had no idea who it was at first, Aqua got a good look at the person's face and recognized him as one of the people who interacts with Miyako every now and then for information regarding the company's affairs.
