The Crystal in The Night

Today, like everyday, Bulma is berated by the arrogant Prince of all Saiyans himself. "Woman, when I'm talking to you I need you to listen." The Prince said, puffing out his chest. "You seem off today, have you finally started swooning over me?" The Prince smirked, he was a few inches taller than Bulma, his build was muscular and slim. His hair was gravity defying and the same color as his eyes, obsedian black. Like always he wore his training clothes too bothered to dress how you would guess a Prince to dress.

Bulma snapped her eyes towards the Prince and let out a loud laugh she knew would bother the arrogant Prince."You wish, Vegeta." She said, still giggling and wiping tears from her eyes. This caused the Prince to cross his arms and roll his eyes. "I didn't expect to get a comedy show so early in the day." She said, finally able to contain her laughter. "You can't bother me today Vegeta." She swiveled herself back around to the mounds of work on her desk.

Vegeta plastered a devilish smirk across his face and leaned down, placing his mouth next to her ear and his hands on either side of her. "Please don't give me a challenge, woman." Bulma whipped around in order to scold the Prince for his actions but before she could get a word out he was already walking through the door of the King's chambers.

Bulma letting out a gruff sigh started back on the work that so desperately needed to be worked on.

A few hours had passed while Bulma was working. Vegeta had left, obviously trying so desperately to get a rise out of her before he went back to Kami knows where. The Queen had stopped by to chat about the annual ball coming up, asking her about the guest list, seating arrangement and if she has already picked a gown to wear. "No your majesty I have been unable to find something yet but I plan on visiting a few boutiques." Bulma gave the woman a soft smile. The Queen was a beautiful woman, you would never guess she was Sayian. She was small, an inch or two shorter than Bulma and she was petite with long black hair that went down to the middle of her backside. She wasn't built like the Sayian women that Bulma normally sees. She looked more delicate, but that is not to say that she isn't strong. Bulma has seen the Queen train some of the female elite guards and to say that woman is a beast at combat is an understatement, she is very well suited to stand side by side with the King and rule over this thriving kingdom.

"I've told you to call me Oonyan and you can come past my chambers. I've picked out a few gowns I think will look gorgeous on you." The woman smiled and quickly walked away knowing Bulma would have objected to her kind offer.

As Bulma was finishing the last of her work she saw the red call button beeping indicating the King was requesting her presence.

Bulma stood and smoothed out her dress as she grabbed her holographic organizer. She strolled through the door and bowed as she got infront of his desk. "Yes, your majesty?"

The King was a tall man who was the carbon copy of his son, well his son was the copy of him. His hair, just like Vegeta's, stood high, daring gravity to push it down. But instead of black hair like his son his hair was a chocolate brown with a clean shaven goatee with specks of gray in it. And just like every other Saiyan on this planet his eyes were a deep black. "Have you finished the seating arrangements for this year's galactic ball?" He asked looking up from the papers in front of him.

This year Vegetasi was hosting the annual galactic ball. This will be the first time in 100 years they were hosting and Bulma's first time partaking in the festivities, every other year she was in attendance but was only a spectator being that she's a part of the elite royal staff.

Bulma pulled out her personal holographic organizer and pulled up the holoscreen that held the seating arrangements. "Yes, your highness I did but I had a few questions." She zoomed in on a few tables towards the middle of the room. "I placed the representatives for planet Zardinax and the royal family of Tibwin together but I wasn't too sure if that personal matter they had was taken care of with the royal family of Quanzenny, so i just placed them a few tables down, but by doing that then they are close with their estranged cousins on planet Buldrap." Bulma looked from her holoscreen to the King who was looking up from the stack of papers that stood in front of him.

The King stroked his coarse goatee, took off his glasses and leaned back in his chair. "Keep Quanzenny where they are and switch the places of Buldrap and Tibwin. Then switch Zardinax with Namek, the Namekians have quarrels with nobody and I know they will just love to be here." He said putting his glasses back on and looked back at his papers. "Send that to Vegeta so he may approve it." He said silently dismissing her.

"Before I leave may I ask for a copy of the itinerary for the night?" Bulma pulled up her holoscreen again. "I never received the revised one and General Bardock has requested it so he can properly place his men." She closed the screen and looked back at the King.

The King pulled out his own holoscreen and started tapping at the screen. "I did request for my son to send this to you but I guess he had more important matters." The King said sarcastically. "After you send the seating arrangement, why don't you take the rest of the day off." Before she could protest the older man already had his hand up to stop her. "The Queen has insisted on needing your presence for something." He said, smiling at her, Bulma smiled back at the King, bowed and walked out.

Bulma finished the work assigned to her and went to see the Queen. As she rounded the corner of the royal family's hallway she noticed the arrogant Prince walking down the hallway as well. Bulma rolled her eyes and continued to walk, hoping she could get away with a quick bow. As Bulma bowed she noticed Vegeta stopping. "Are you still ignoring my childish comments?" He asked, smirking.

Bulma stood up from her bow with a bored face. "I sent you the final revisions on the seating arrangement, the King requested that I send it to you so you can approve it." Bulma shifted on her feet and crossed her arms to show she wasn't in the mood.

"Bulma, this cat and mouse is no fun if you don't play along." He said softly caressing her arm with the back of his hand. Bulma's body shivered and she made a fake gagging sound. Vegeta rolled his eyes and pulled out his holoscreen. "The King and Queen want me to teach you how to do our royal dance for the ball, you will meet me in the ballroom on the north wing in about three hours." He said while approving and sending the seating arrangement. He turned off his holoscreen, looked back at Bulma, smirked then walked away.

"You didn't even skim over it, you don't know who's where so you can do your royal politicking." Bulma gave him a fake concerned look. "Is that enough to satisfy the cat and mouse game you want?" Bulma rolled her eyes and continued on her way to the Queen's quarters.

Vegeta grabbed her arm and pulled her close to his body. "Oh I'm definitely satisfied." He said breathy into her ear. Bulma gave a look of disgust as she pulled her arm away and walked towards her destination while Vegeta was chuckling.

As she made it to the room she knocked softly and then entered when she heard the Queen's soft voice calling her to come in. "Ah, Bulma!". Bulma opened the door seeing the Queen place a gold garment bag ontop of an ever growing pile of more gold garment bags. "Please have a seat." The Queen motioned to the seat next to all the gowns. "Can I get you a drink my dear?" She asked.

Bulma had been working for the royal family long enough to know the Queen hates to be doted on when she requests the presence of close staff. "Tea please, with those tasty little cakes you had last time." Bulma said, smiling and taking a seat.

"I made sure to get more especially for you." She said bringing over her cakes and tea smiling in amusement. "I picked out a few gowns I think would look beautiful on you, these are from my personal closet that I've never worn."I didn't know your size but I believe we should be the same size other than height." The Queen beamed as Bulma started unzipping the bags to look in them.

"Ooyan this is not a few." Bulma laughed looking at the mountain of gowns. The Queen giggled and plopped herself down next to Bulma.

"I got a little excited." She lifted her tea cup from the table and took a small sip. "Feel free to try on anyone you like." Motioning for Bulma to get up.

Bulma pulled out the first gown. It was a deep lavender, floor length, off the shoulder gown with floral accents. The dress puffed out once it reached the hips but the bodice went down into a v once it hit the pelvic area. "I think I'll try this one first." Bulma took the gown and went into the closet to change, closing the door behind her. As she struggled to get on the hefty garment she thought this is probably what it felt like for a mother to pick out a prom or a wedding dress with her daughter. She finished getting the dress on and walked out doing a small spin to show the entire look. The dress fit snug against body, it pushed her breast up to where her cleavage sat up very elegantly.

"What do you think?" The Queen asked, beaming.

Bulma shrugged her shoulders and looked down at the dress. "It's beautiful but a little too heavy." She said, picking up the skirt and fluffing it out.

"I think you look gorgeous." Oonyan chuckled a little. "Try the other ones though." She quickly added with a wave of her hand.

Bulma nodded. She opened bags to look at their contents. She found a deep blue silk dress. "I'll try this one." Bulma entered the closet and carefully took her gown off and put the other one on. This dress was spaghetti strap and had a deep v going down the front, the backless dress went low stopping right above Bulma's lower back. She stepped back out of the closet. "You have a big thing for cleavage.

Again the Queen laughed. "A few of these are from my younger days and as you can tell I dressed rather boldly." Oonyan set her cup down and softly laid her hand crossed on her lap. "Maybe that one isn't appropriate for the occasion."

Bulma nodded. "My exact thoughts." Bulma gave a small chuckle. She went back to the other gowns and again started looking through them. She opened one that was a matte blood red.

"That's one of my favorites. It's an exact replica of my wedding dress but includes a smaller train." The Queen said standing up and taking the dress out herself and softly handing it to Bulma quietly admiring the dress.

Bulma just as delicately took the dress and went to change. As she slipped it on she walked out smoothing the fabric down. The whole dress was soft against her skin. The bodice was a simple halter that covered her chest going up her neck and tying with a simple bow and the ends flowing down the backless dress. The skirt just as simple as the top flowed down her body into an elegant train. "This was what your wedding dress looked like?" Bulma's eyes were wide as she looked at herself in the mirror.

"Well the color was different, I had loved the design so much I requested it in a different color but never got around to wearing it." The Queen stood to her feet to stand behind Bulma. "My vail was just as long as the train which reached across the entire church." She held Bulma's hair up to imitate a beautiful updo. "I wore my hair up with beautiful jewels as my statement piece, I can get the royal beautician to come to your room to help with your hair." The Queen released Bulma's hair and smoothed her hands along her shoulders. "I think this is the dress, what about you?"

"I agree." Bulma couldn't tear her eyes away from how beautiful the dress was. "Are you sure you want me to basically wear your wedding dress?" She turned to look at the Queen.

Oonyan smiled. "As you know I don't have a daughter, so today felt so special to me being able to dress you up. Honestly when I was picking out dresses I picked this one up hoping and praying that it was the one you chose." She smoothed a strand of hair behind Bulma's ear. "I would be honored if you wore this dress."

Bulma felt tears starting to well up in her eyes trying her hardest to fight them back. "You could've just said yes." Bulma said laughing with the Queen. "Thank you." She gave a big smile and hugged the Queen.

Bulma quickly undressed and put the gown back in the garment bag. She and the Queen talked for a while until Bulma had to leave. She scurried to her room and put the gown in her closet. She checked the time, sighing and knowing she's going to get an ear full for being late.
