Armored Core: Vengeance
Chapter 16 going deeper into Agnus territory, Matthew and Na'el's past
After the battle to take down the barrier that protects Agnus and defeating Sniper wolf, Shinck and his group looks at how much credits they got which is a lot, Church uses some of it to upgrade there equipment and the carrier along with repairing the A.C, Fatman looks for any more job to take until the next big job as for Shinck he looks at Na'el very worried about her mantel health.
Shinck: Na'el…
Na'el soon went to her room to be alone once she was alone thinks back to the mission of the barrier being taken down, seeing the mercenaries cause as much destruction in there wake and seeing so many die along with hearing the soldiers call them demon, monsters.
Na'el: monsters?... you kingdom bastards are the true monsters.
(Scene change)
On the Redguns carrier Matthew and Glimmer tried to process what they just saw along with the chaos that was unleashed.
Matthew: Jaune… what the bloody heck man you guys completely wiped out an entire base along with killing so many people!
Glimmer: it was slaughter a complete slaughter!
Jaune: … trust me when I say this… me and the rest saw a lot of death, destruction and people dying.
Matthew: are you saying… there's going to be more like that in the future… as you guys continue to against the two kingdoms…
Glimmer: …
Jaune: yes… there's going to be more battles like that as the corporations take more resources from this planet.
The two could not believe what they just heard, there's going to be more battles along with more people dying one after another and once Agnus is gone, Keves is there next target once there done Matthew wondered why the two kingdoms haven't called off a cease fire and stop fighting against each other but he's more worried about Na'el who is without a doubt in this mess.
Matthew: Na'el… where the bloody hell are you? What are you doing right now?
Glimmer: shouldn't the kingdoms stop fighting each other if they keep this up there won't be anyone left! Why, why won't they just stop fighting each other already…
Matthew: …
Jaune: …
Then a call comes in Jaune takes it and to his surprise its Luke who fought with them in the last war.
Luke: good to see you again, Jaune.
Jaune: hehehe it's good to hear from you Luke how have you been.
Luke: I've been doing alright and doing some jobs.
Jaune: I see, so why are you calling me?
Luke: Jaune there's something wrong with the two kingdoms along with how strange there war is.
Jaune: … does the others know?
Luke: not sure but they without a doubt must've noticed as well I got to go I'll contact you or the others later seeya.
Jaune: seeya.
(Scene change)
Back with Shinck and his group Na'el is seen sleeping in her room dreaming of peaceful days that are long gone, seeing people of the cities enjoying their lives and in peace along with children playing together even seeing her own home at a place with a beautiful view.
As she looks at it she thinks about the happier times she and her family had.
Na'el: I wish this could last forever no more endless fighting, no more wars, none of those kingdoms being around anymore … just this place with everything so peaceful and free.
As Na'el enjoys herself something or someone is seen looking at her from behind with disappointment and anger towards her until he spoke.
?: the dead are never silent, your hands are stained with the blood of many lives they are not letting you walk away from this crisis so easily.
Na'el: ?
Na'el soon saw the sky turned red and her house was in ruins and the city was completely destroyed then it started to rain but it was blood instead, this confused her until something grabbed her from under the ground and dragged in it was the many lives that died in the war between the kingdom along with those she killed as well as she's dragged into the deep darkness until she finally woke up and breathing heavily after experiencing a horrible nightmare.
Na'el: … who said those words?
(Scene change)
Back with the Redguns, the group soon meet up with RaD who are busy fixing a city that got hit by the war that's still happening, as they land and check out the city soon Jaune noticed Matthew who is very worried about his sister and wondered if she is okay.
Jaune: you okay Matthew?
Matthew: … no, no I'm not okay…
Jaune: is this about your sister?
Matthew: yes… *sigh* ever since me and Na'el was kids our previous home was destroyed by the war when it came… and ever since that day Na'el was forever changed… we were forced to fight in order to survive until gramps found us and took us away from there… away from war
Jaune: …
Matthew: we were happy we didn't need to fight anymore in the war anymore but we did had to learn how to defend ourselves but he always noticed the inner turmoil inside her… and I started to notice it to and I'm scared for what will happens once she snaps.
Jaune: … your fears are justified Matthew, she's your sister and your only family you have left so I'm going to help you find her as soon possible if any of my family were in danger I too would go to find them.
Matthew: thanks, I really needed that.
(Scene change)
Back with Shinck and the others they received a request from Balam who is giving them a mission to clear out a path that leads to where the capital is, the path of course is an underground tunnel that leads there however they are warned that the further inside will become a maze and anyone can get lost in there with that over the briefing ended.
Shinck boards his A.C and heads out to the mission area.
(Armored Core 4 – Agitator)
After a few minutes Shinck arrived at the area and began the mission as he entered the tunnel once inside he encounters many creatures inside he takes out most of them and continues on.
Soon he is jumped by Agnus soldiers that tries to stop him but they too met there end as Shinck continues on his way through the tunnel until he encounters an extremely dangerous beast that attacked him but he fights it off by cutting its arm off with his pulse blade and ends it with a grenade launcher ending the fight.
Shinck then finds an open area where he can rest he sends a signal flare in order for the others to know where to land once they land the group decides to take a break for now before going any further however unknown to them someone was following them from the shadows.
Then everything fades to black.
