Chapter 5: Kings and Queens

Alongside Outworld, Edenia has had many changes. It has been known as the crown jewel of the realms because of how peaceful it is compared to the other ones. While it was always peaceful, even before Shao Kahn arrived, it was not without violence. Warriors have always been trained to fight against any threats that poses while keeping the innocent lives safe. It was notoriously known for being one of the first realms conquered by Shao Kahn himself after Outworld. Ever since his defeat, and after the deaths of Geras, Quan Chi and Shang Tsung, things have been looking up.

Jerrod and Sindel have since remarried after the king's resurrection thanks to Shang Tsung, Fujin and Liu Kang. They have put their power before anything else, but have also agreed to provide some for their civilians and ensure that they will not make the same mistakes again. It took time for King Jerrod to get used to what has changed since his death and resurrection. And it took time to trust Earthrealm, since they have supported Sindel, Jade and Kitana in their cause. It surprised him that Kitana became Kahn and succeeded Shao Kahn and married Liu Kang. After being told of the good things he has done, even before becoming a god, he supported him. Sheeva has continued to work in Edenia alongside Sindel and Jerrod, but also to continue to support Kitana Kahn and still leads the Shokan army.

With things running well in Edenia with Jerrod and Sindel ruling, things have changed. They decided to start over their time of ruling and share their lives together, now with Shao Kahn gone. They kept in contact with Outworld and Earthrealm in case of meetings or emergencies. They too have have chosen a new warrior to fight, just as they originally planned for Kitana and Jade had Shao Kahn had not invaded. A young lady named Meia. She has white hair similar to Sindel except hers as large curls up to her shoulders from the back. Her eyes are bright purple and is wearing a black Edenian robe, resembling that of a warrior. In terms of personality, she can be humble, polite, and mentally strong. But sometimes she can be modest and tends to try to help others and is afraid of being alone. Sometimes she wants to do the protecting. Meia, despite seeing Jerrod and Sindel as heroes, is a little too dependent. She is the current princess of Edenia, yet she is more wanting to be a warrior, much like Queen Sindel herself and speaks in a slight british-like accent. She is an orphan who lost her parents when was in her teenage-like years at the hands of Shao Kahn himself when they attempted to rebel against him.

One day, Meia is training outside with a scepter with a retractable blade. She trains with three of her other guardians, who also act as her friends. Cade, a male Edenian who focuses on hand to hand combat. He enjoys battles and is often confident in his abilities. Though he has shown carelessness and cockiness from time to time, much to everyone's concern. Jon, another male Edenian who specializes in melee weapons fighting with a battle hammer. Jon is more collected than Cade and focuses more. Though he can be the most angry out of all of them sometimes, but he means well regardless. Huntress, an expert archer. She is often close to Meia and tends to help her alot most of the time and hopes that she does not rely too much on her dependence. Huntress is more than willing to do anything to protect her king and queen as well as Meia, even meaning laying down her life. And then there is Tessa, who specializes in many kinds of magic. She was trained to do so by King Jerrod himself. Tessa prefers to keep her distance from most others except Sindel, Jerrod, Meia and the other three guardians. But regardless, she cares deeply for Meia and hopes that she can do good. She does not talk very much though.

As Meia continues training outside, her guardians have been summoned by King Jerrod and Queen Sindel to the main room. All four are curious about what they plan on saying. Possibly something related to Meia. "King Jerrod. Queen Sindel. You wished to speak to the four of us?" Huntress asked as they all bent the knee before them.

"Yes, Huntress. It is something regarding Meia. You four have been training her for the past several years since she was found alive. Though she still has much to learn about leadership, I believe it is time that we put her through a series of tests. To see how well she remembers her lessons from us. Soon she must face responsibilities like I have." Sindel tells them.

"Are you sure today is the day for her? What if she isn't ready for what comes next? Meia isn't fully experienced like the rest of us are." Cade expresses his concern. Not that he doubts her or does not trust her. He cares more about her safety.

"So were me and Sindel when we were younger. Experience will always come along the path of journey. Sometimes you may never know. Having doubt about oneself or another can lead to losing confidence in abilities." Jerrod advised.

"They're right. After all, it was their idea to ask us to train her in every situation." Jon reminds them. "It is better safe than sorry. After all, she has risen up the ranks for the last several years. They weren't perfect though."

"Yes. That is exactly the point of it all. In my vision, perfection is an impossible feat to obtain. No one can ever be perfect. Not even gods themselves." Sindel corrected them. While she wasn't that much of a fan of gods at first, she started believing them more when Raiden resurrected her and chose to believe in Liu Kang because of his love for Kitana, and Alex for his bravery even though he's half god.

"Where is Meia now?" Jerrod asked.

"She is in the gardens training. The one closest to the biggest fountain. Meia is currently visiting the statues of her late parents." Huntress tells him.

"Go. Find her and ask her that we would like to speak to her." Jerrod ordered them. The four guardians nod and walk out of the palace. As they walk out, Tessa, who is normally quiet, stares at the rulers for a few seconds before she leaves to join the others. Once they are alone, Jerrod turns to his wife. "They do have a point. Are you certain Meia is ready for what she may face in the future?" Jerrod asked his wife.

"I am. Meia lost her parents when they suffered at Shao Kahn's hands. We cannot afford to let history repeat itself, nor have her endure the same tragedies we have. She chose this, not us." Sindel reminds her husband.

"I suppose it is best to trust your word. Meia did not deserve to go through the pain we both went through mentally. I may have failed this realm once. I do not want to do so again. For you and me most importantly. For these people. Only time will tell what the future may hold for her." Jerrod said.

Sindel smiled at his words and caressed his face. "Indeed. Your words have always proven sound to me. If only you could have given Kitana words like those back in the day. She would have found you to be a wise father, like I did." This causes Jerrod to quietly snicker.

"Things have changed since my death and resurrection. What surprises me of what our daughter has done for us and the many allies you and her have made in my absence. Most particularly, Raiden and Liu Kang." Jerrod said. While he never got the chance to meet Raiden, he has heard the good things he has done to protect Earthrealm and was saddened by his unfortunate death at Shao Kahn's hands.

"We have always chosen our allies wisely and learned who to trust for the better. I learned that from Kitana and Jade." Sindel expressed her thoughts. "Other than them and Queen Sheeva, Raiden, Liu Kang, Alex Cage, Kung Lao, and Kotal were the first friends I made. I felt graceful." Sindel smiles. She could never forget the day she was brought back by Raiden and reunited with her daughter and Jade, and meeting Kotal, Kung Lao, Liu Kang and Alex. She felt bad for the latter at first for attacking him and was quick to understand him, given the same mutual pain they both had and Kitana and Jade trusting him. Sindel could say the same for Liu Kang. She knew in her heart that Liu Kang was the one for her daughter and was blessed that she was right.

As Huntress told King Jerrod and Queen Sindel, Meia is taking a small break from training to visit the statues of some of the civilians that have died when Shao Kahn took over Edenia. Among the casualties of the lives of men, women and children taken were her parents. Not many people know the reasons why Meia was chosen by Sindel. Meia may have some ideas why, but would like to find out from her. She does not always visit their grave, but normally when she is feeling down or frustrated.

Meia looks at the statues of her parents, hoping to find a sense of pride on her face. "My parents. I hope you are alright resting in peace. If only there was something I could have done to try to save you. I was too young and foolish to try to do anything. I cannot help but wonder what Queen Sindel and King Jerrod have planned for me. I do hope it will be something of value." Meia said, praying to her parents. It appears that she misses them greatly. How long she has believe in gods can be anyone's guess.

Huntress, Cade, Jon and Tessa approach her from behind. Huntress holds out her arms, holding the others back. She sees what Meia is doing. Sees that she is praying once more. Huntress feels really bad for Meia losing her parents when she was younger. Huntress feels her pain. Back then before Sindel became aware of her existence, she felt the same way when she lost a friend at the hands of Quan Chi when he invaded Edenia. Huntress grieved for her friend, but then she chose to move on. Something she learned from Sindel herself.

"Lady Meia. I hope you are doing well today." Huntress said, trying to find that face of hers.

Meia opens her eyes and takes a deep breath. She grabs her weapon and stands back up to face her friends and guardians. "Huntress. I'm sorry to keep you all waiting for me. I hope you were not too concerned for me."

"It's not that, Meia. The king and queen have summoned you and asked us to come find you." Huntress tells her.

"What is it that they want with me this time, may I ask?" Meia said.

The four looked at each other and nodded. This time. Cade stepped up. "Jerrod and Sindel would like to test you. To see how much progress you have made."

"Hmm. What kind of tests exactly? Did they ever say?" Meia asked.

"They did not say. They wanted to tell you themselves. We are just as curious as you are. Will you come with us?" Jon asked.

Meia thinks for a moment. She looks at the statues and looks back at the big palace. She hopes that the tests will be something good. So she nods to her friends. "Alright. I will come with you. I hope this is what I think it is."

"As do I, my friend. I have a hunch that whatever this test is, you'll be ready. I have never doubted you once ever since I met you." Huntress smirked.

"Thank you, Huntress." Meia tells her. Huntress smiles and wraps an arm around her. As they continued walking, she noticed the strange deadpan-like look on Tessa's face. "Tessa. Are you feeling alright?" Tessa nods and shows a friendly smirk.

"Yes. I am fine. The King and Queen await us." Tessa replied. Meia can feel off about Tessa being the most silent out of the four guardians. Despite that, Tessa does mean well and would be willing to help Meia, especially when her life is in any danger. Tessa looks at the fountain and the Kamidogu symbol in front of it as they continued walking. They have all been told about its power and how it was used by Sindel and then helping a friend of hers. They continue walking back towards the palace, as they all wonder what the rules have planned for the young lady.

King Jerrod and Queen Sindel await for Meia's arrival with her friends. They are eager to announce what they have involved for her. They have not been this happy since the family was finally reunited after what Shao Kahn put them through. They both smile as they see the guardians return with Meia.

"Lady Meia. Welcome. I trust that you have been training hard as usual. Without overworking yourself I hope." Jerrod said.

"I am fine, my king. I learned my lesson of working too hard and paid the price with my recklessness and rashness. I did remember what Cade, Jon, Huntress and Tessa have taught me." Meia said. It was not easy for her to remember her lessons at first, but over time she started to improve. It was Jerrod's idea for Meia to learn everything, including magic. Sindel senses something within her. Something strong.

"Then you must know why you are here. About the tests they told you about?" Jerrod asked.

"Yes they have. But I do not know what they are truly about. One can only assume what they most suspect about. And I assume you wish to test what I have learned so far." Meia guessed.

"Yes. You have grown more mature and wise. Your lessons you were taught by your friends will be tested. To see how far you have become. Do not expect these tests to be easy. If you manage to succeed, then we will have a special announcement for you. Are you ready, lady Meia?" Sindel asked.

"Yes, my queen. Who will be first?" Meia asked.

All four guardians look at each other to see who will be the first to challenge Meia. That was until her friend Huntress steps up. "It will be me. However this one will not be a fight. Instead, I shall test you on how well your archer training has been."

"I see. So how will this archer test work?" Meia wondered.

"Follow me outside. I have an idea." Huntress leads Meia and the three guardians outside behind the palace. Sindel and Jerrod follow them with interest. The king and queen have watched the five of them train from time to time. They're pleased to have such interesting warriors who were willing to step up to take lead on the next generation of warriors.

Outside is a very large field. Everyone knows this one is too familiar to them. After all, it is where many certain people take their tests. Even Meia is aware of it. "The test field. I remember this now. I watched you four take these and ended up exceeding. Which was what led to Jerrod and Sindel choosing you four." Meia stated.

"Sharp memory, Meia. In fact, you will be facing all of them. Unlike the rest of us here." Huntress said.

Meia steps closer and quickly sees what she meant. "I see now. You want me to shoot all of these targets with my faithful bow. But I sense there is a catch to it." Meia said.

"Yes. There are 20 targets total. We each have 10 targets for us to shoot. This one will test your reflexes and speed. Not only do you have to watch your reflexes, you will be racing against me." Huntress explained.

"A race? You mean be the first to shoot ten targets?" Meia asked.

"Yes, but there is more to that. You must also be the first back here. As an archer, you want to keep moving. Staying in one spot is not always a good idea. Do not let anything or anyone break your concentration. Are you ready, Meia?" Huntress asked her and she nods. "Good. Let us begin, my friend."

Meia and Huntress grab their respective bow and arrows. They both stand side by side with each other, ready to run towards their targets. Huntress holds up three fingers and Meia looks at her. Huntress slowly starts lowering her fingers one by one, counting down from three. As the last finger goes down, the two immediately start running.

Meia and Huntress run in the same direction rapidly. They both see two targets in front of them and they draw their bow and arrow and shoot it. They were both on a bullseye. There was a fork in the path, which was where Meia and Huntress split up. Meia went left and Huntress went right. They both run through a small garden. Meia sees a target in a bush from far away and shoots another bullseye. She then sees a smaller one hiding between some flowers and fires another arrow, hitting her 3rd target. Huntress sees two targets standing on some big rocks and fires two arrows at the same time and hits both targets. Huntress sees one hiding within the spewing waters of a water fountain and shoots an arrow and hits it, putting her up at three. Meia on the other hand sees a target on a ledge and shoots it. She then sees one being held in the air and rapidly shoots it. Meia sees one next to it and was about to fire, only for another arrow to hit it first. She looks and sees that it was Huntress.

They're tied, but it's only a matter of minutes before someone reaches ten targets first. Huntress smirks before she quickly runs ahead of Meia. Meia dashes after her. Huntress gives her another smirk as she continues running. Meia suddenly stops and sees a target below her. She then has an idea. She remembered something that she was taught. Meia looks to her left and looks down over the edge and sees a secret passageway just below. Meia jumps down on the path and shoots the levitating target. Huntress ran, jumped and skipped over some large rocks and shoots three targets within seconds. Meia then shoots one target on one of the nearby buildings close to the palace, and another one below the same building. She looked around for her 9th one but it was nowhere to be seen. Until she sees something bright and blue and shining. There is a target that is close to the huge waterfall. Meia smirks, thinking it was clever for them to hide the target like that to blend in. Meia pulls out an arrow and with enough concentration, shoots the target and manages to hit it. Meia does not see any more targets and thinks for a moment. She opens her eyes and came to a realization. Meia climbs over the ledge and starts running back.

Huntress hits one target right in front of her. Behind it from afar, is a grassy green target blending in with the trees and bushes on a very small cliff. Huntress has sharp eyes and manages to shoot it within seconds. Huntress starts running back to the palace with confidence on her face. For some reason, she does not see Meia anywhere. It then immediately hits her. Meia was the first to make it back, which surprises everyone, including Sindel and Jerrod.

"Meia. You're back more quickly than we have expected. Surely you must have gotten all ten targets that quick." Sindel said to her.

Meia just simply smirked and fires an arrow above everyone's heads and shoots a target high on the roof of the palace. This definitely surprised everyone. "Now I do." Meia replied.

At that moment, Huntress comes back and sees that Meia has shot her last target and made it back before she did. Huntress catches her breath for a few moments and sees a job well done. "Nice one, Meia. You saw through our little trick. Your eyes are as sharp as ever. I thought I would throw you off with the last one hidden on top of the palace. Your memory has served you well up to its best." Huntress compliments her.

"Thank you, Huntress. After all, I have learned all the hiding spots from you. You do so every time to throw me off." Meia said.

"That way you can recognize a pattern. Enemies will always have a pattern when hiding somewhere to keep their distance from you. Which is why it is suggested you always keep moving when fighting with archery. I knew you would remember well. I'm happy for you, my friend." Huntress smiles and puts an arm around Meia.

"Thanks. It was not easy to match you step for step. But regardless, you still are the best archer than I am. No one else can be better at it than you are." Meia replied with a smile.

"Always have some pride in your victories, but you cannot become overconfident in your abilities because it can lead to recklessness." Jerrod reminds her.

"Your tests have only just begun. We want to all see what you are truly made of." Sindel tells Meia. "Tessa. You're next."

Tessa nods and steps up and holds her hands out and purple-like magic starts flowing in her hands. "You remember my lessons I have taught you. Many forms of magic, including defense, healing, attacks and levitation. Are you ready?"

"Yes. It took me a long time to see how you manage to do it. I will be as careful as possible." Meia said.

"Good. Let us start." Tessa said. Tessa brings out a small knife and rolls up one of her long sleeves. She takes the knife and does a small cut on her wrist. Blood slowly starts falling over her wrist as Tessa looks at Meia and nods to her.

Meia comes over and puts her hand over Tessa's wrist and closes her eyes. She starts chanting magic words while keeping her eyes closed and her hand starts glowing emerald green. She repeats the same phrases over again as Tessa's arm starts healing up and blood starts retreating back into her system. Her wrist looks good as new. Like it has never been cut to begin with. "There. Your arm has been healed. No wonder how we have so many healers here in Edenia. I have heard that they have saved many lives before and after this place was attacked. It pleases me to hear it." Meia stated.

Sindel nods and remembers. She remembers the time where she needed healers when she was pregnant with Kitana. It still remains as one of the happiest moments of her life. As well as helping her friend Cassie with healers when she and Alex came to Edenia. "I heartily agree with you, Meia. Honestly, I do not know what to do without them. Neither did Jerrod or Kitana." Sindel shared her opinion.

"Yes. But I know there is much more to magic than just healing. I know it is hard for everyone, but Tessa manages to get it right quicker than anyone else." Meia looks at Tessa and she nods in thanks.

"You are only halfway done with your tests. Now you have two more. You will now face me in battle." Jon said, bringing out his battle hammer.

Meia sighs and takes deep breaths before she brings out her spear with the retractable blade. "You never change your fighting weapons, Jon. Always the one to jump into battle first. I like that about you." Meia teases him.

"I will not be going easy on you. You know how much I like fights. And how much I like winning." Jon said. They both get into a fighting stance as they start fighting.

Meia and Jon start clashing with their respective weapons. Thankfully, Meia's spear and blade are durable enough to withstand the swings from Jon's hammer. Her weapon is weaker though but gives her more speed. Jon on the other hand is more bulk and has his hammer swinging slow but strong. Meia is often on the defensive side because of Jon's strength. But this also gives her an advantage. Meia ducks a swing and slams the endpoint of the weapon on Jon's waist, swings at his lower spine before she swings it at Jon's right elbow, and swiftly trips him and points the blade at his face.

"Do you also enjoy losing, Jon? It is not the first time." Meia teased before she offers her hand.

Jon sighed in defeat as he takes her hand. "I guess you mean I don't like losing. Used my own reflexes against me. Good thinking, kid." Jon praises her. Meia nods in response as a thank you.

"Indeed, Meia. You know how to learn the enemies' strengths and weaknesses as you go. There is no telling by just simply looking at the enemy. Always observe during battle and how they fight." Cade said, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"I always knew that. But it pains me to say that I am a slow learner sometimes. That is something I cannot help with. That is my disadvantage if I were to go up against powerful opponents." Meia said. Not that she doubts herself. She seems to worry more about disadvantages rather than keeping a straight mind in battle.

"I understand, Meia. But you have to remember that while you are wise and have grown stronger, you are not perfect. Nobody is invincible. Think of lack of perfection as a good thing. None of us here have ever been perfect. We were quick to shrug it off and do whatever we can to succeed." Jon advises her.

"I know. I always try to remember everything you have told me, but it is not always easy to learn. But one thing I do is that it is never too late to learn anything that can be worth listening to." Meia stated.

"Exactly right, Meia. That is what can make you a great person. So far you have been successful, but you must do one last test." Cade tells her.

"Yes. I must face and defeat the close ranged fighting guardian. And that would be you, Cade." Meia said.

"Bright. Let us see how far you have gotten with what you have learned." Cade said. They both get into position as they are ready to fight.

Meia and Cade stare at each other in the eyes. One of them is ready to make the first move. They stand there motionless for nearly 30 seconds until Meia takes a step forward and Cade sees it and takes a step back. Meia continues to walk forward and throws a punch at Cade, but he side steps out of the way and attempts to elbow strike her in the back of the head, but Meia was quick to turn around and grab his fist and side kick him in the left rib cage, elbows his forehead and dropkicks him in the chest, sending him back. Cade rolls and recovers. Meia does a cartwheel kick and a backflip kick, which Cade was able to block, allowing him to grab her wrist, pull her in and chop her in the stomach, forehead, right shoulder and kicks her in the left arm before finally pushing and knocking her down.

Meia gets back up and is ready to fight back. Meia suddenly jumps, spins and front flip kicks the top of Cade's head and knees his chin and cartwheel kicks him in the chest. She then does a swing kick across the face, stumbling him, and Meia palm strikes his face and eagle kicks his left shoulder, jumps over him and kicks Cade in the upper spine, sending him forward. Cade quickly gets back up and swings an arm at her, but she ducks, but this leaves an opening as Cade double side kicks her chest and face and back roundhouse kicks her across the head, stumbling Meia. Cade then elbow strikes her in the back followed by a strong palm strike, sending Meia sliding down. Meia turns over on her back and sees Cade jumping to attack her. Meia feels desperate and without even thinking, she starts yelling in motivation and suddenly, a strong sonic-like scream comes out of her mouth, forcing Cade backwards and he rolls into the wall, defeating him.

Everyone remained stunned by what just happened, especially Sindel. The queen thought only she was the only one who has the ability to use the powerful sonic scream. Now she cannot help but wonder how it was possible for an orphan to use such power. Jerrod thinks of the same thing. Both Huntress and Jon's eyes were widened by how strong it was. Tessa, unsurprisingly, remained silent, but shares the same reaction as they do.

Meia immediately sees what just happened and wanted to think of how she did that. But she could not think of it right away as she was more concerned about Cade. She gets up and runs over to him. "By the gods! Cade! Are you hurt?! I am so sorry!" Meia feels guilty for injuring him.

Cade struggled to get up, and he gritted his teeth in pain as Meia slowly started helping him up. "Y-yeah. I am fine. Are you hurt, Meia?"

"Forget about me. We need to get you checked out. I am so sorry. I don't know how that happened. Please forgive me." Meia feels really guilty.

"Meia. There is nothing to forgive. It was not your fault. You did wonderful. Though I am going to need some rest. It was a good fight." Cade said. "Trust me. I will be fine." He briefly puts a hand on her cheek as Jon came over and wrapped an arm around his shoulders. Huntress gives Meia's shoulder a squeezing comfort as she too helps with Cade. Tessa took another glance at the big fountain with the Edenian symbol once more before she hurries to catch up with the other three guardians.

Meia stays behind and looks at Jerrod and Sindel with guilt on her face. "My leagues. I am sorry. I did not mean what I did. I completely understand if this test was a failure. I ask for forgiveness. I do not feel ready, as my victory was unfair." Meia said, looking down in shame.

Jerrod and Sindel look each other in the eyes. They could tell that they're having the same thoughts about her. The king and queen both step forward to talk to her. "Meia. Meia, it is alright. It is not your fault." Sindel tries to assure her.

"But Cade is seriously hurt. For all I know, it could've killed him." Meia said, trying to not drop a tear.

Sindel smiles and lifts Meia's head and places a hand on her cheek. "You heard Cade. There is nothing to forgive. One lesson that all of our warriors are taught is that we must fight our enemies by any means necessary. You have indeed passed your great trials. Besides, you are not the only one who has felt that way before. I can relate." Sindel said.

"How can you? You mean I am not the first one to use this mysterious power?" Meia asked.

"You are correct. In fact, I have that power too. I unlocked it when I was your age. I was feeling desperate, fed by motivation. When I first took trials like this, I unlocked it by accident when I was engaged in combat with the king himself. I too felt guilty about what happened that day. But he reassured me." Sindel said, making her husband smile.

"But how? How can you control something like this. I did feel desperate and I was motivated to win and prove myself to you. I have looked up to you both. My queen. How long did it take you to control your power?" Meia asked.

"In order to control it, you must control your emotions and thoughts. Your mind must not be rounded up with too many thoughts and you mustn't bottle up your emotions." Sindel instructed.

"Queen Sindel. I wish to ask that you teach me. Show me how to control this power. So I can avoid incidents in the future." Meia asked as she bows her head.

"You have my word, Princess Meia." Sindel smiled. Meia seemed surprised by the title of princess. She was not expecting to hear such a thing. Meia gives a sigh of relief.

"Thank you very much, my queen. I am in your debt." Meia finally smiles.

"Come. We have much to discuss anyway." Sindel said as the two walk with King Jerrod back to the palace. Meia feels a spark of pride within her. But she still wonders why Jerrod and Sindel have chosen her out of all people. She hopes to find out sooner or later.

In the palace, Cade was being attended to by Tessa with Huntress and Jon watching. They're still surprised by Meia's woken power. It looked very much like Sindel's. They do wonder where it came from. It is a mystery to all of them for now. Sindel may be the only one who may know how or why.

Tessa was just about done with Cade's injuries. All he must do now is rest. "Tessa. Keep an eye on him so he doesn't move much." Jon asked Tessa and she nods silently. Jon and Huntress leave the room and walk alone in the halls.

"This has been quite a surprise for all of us. Even for Sindel and Jerrod." Huntress said to Jon.

"Are you saying you didn't have faith in Meia?" Jon wondered.

"No. I always believed in that strength and willpower of hers. I am surprised by what Meia was capable of while fighting Cade. A power like that can come in handy one day for her. If Sindel was able to use it properly, I feel the same for our new princess." Huntress replied.

"If you're right. Then it is best to have more confidence in her and what else she may be able to do beyond today." Jon said. "All we can do is wait and see." Huntress nods as they continue talking while walking.

Tessa continues to stare out the window, admiring the mild wind and strong, environmental smell. She seems to love nature for what it is. As she briefly smirks, she looks down at the big fountain with the Kamidogu. What peaks her interests all of a sudden?

Note: Even more new characters have joined the fray. Meia however, will be the main focus compared to the others in Edenia. She's part fighter, but is mostly a mage. Since I don't think we have ever gotten any mages in Mortal Kombat before prior to Rain in MK!. I thought it would be a good idea. She will face mental and physical challenges and learn to master her skills and learn to befriend others. Unlike the other OCs, she is an orphan taken under the wings of Jerrod and Sindel. I hope you guys like her. She's gonna be the most polite person to everyone around her.
