Disclaimer: I do not own The Mr. Men Show or Pokemon, but I do own Little Miss Music and at least one other character so far. Might add more in later chapters.
A flock of Starlys flew overhead. A couple of Bidoofs ran in the grass. Magikarp swam in the water. Pokemon were everywhere! Little Miss Music stood there– as she once was, a human. She looked all around her. It was amazing! Every corner of the world seems to be filled with Pokemon, and she was here, seeing it all with her own eyes.
How? she wondered, gazing up as a Starly broke away from its flock and flew down toward the ground. She watched it. Was it hunting? It landed by some trees and started pecking around the roots. Then it turned, seeming to have spotted something.
Curious, she walked closer, not taking her eyes off the bird Pokemon as it hopped toward something. Her eyes widened when she spotted a small shack in front of her. The Starly was still moving closer to it, not seeming bothered at all.
Stopping, Little Miss Music stared at the house. Did someone live here? She didn't want to walk into anyone's house, but maybe whoever lived here could tell her where she was. Clearly she was somehow with Pokemon, but how did she get here? Last she remembered she was in Dillydale, as a Little Miss. How did she turn back into a human, but not in her world?
Suddenly the Starly turned and hopped away, as if it wasn't interested in the shack anymore. But Little Miss Music moved closer to it, cautiously at first. Then she took a couple of fast steps, and finally she found herself standing in front of the door. She knocked, but there was no answer, so she opened the door and gasped when she saw her room back in Dillydale.
And then she was waking up in her bed. She stared down at her arms and studied her body. She was a Little Miss again. Very confused, she climbed out of bed and looked around her room. She was back in Dillydale. She could see the street outside her window and she noticed a few of her friends walking by her house.
Her head spun. She didn't know what just happened. Was it a dream? It must have been, but it felt so real. She shrugged, deciding she dreamed about Pokemon because she discovered the other day that Mr. Scatterbrain had one. It was unexpected. A Pokemon, in Dillydale! That was the last thing she would have thought to see. Since then, Mr. Scatterbrain has been asking her questions about Pokemon and everything she knew about it. She told him all she knew, but even though she was a huge fan of the games and show, she wasn't an expert and she knew they must have come out with even more Pokemon since she's been in Dillydale. It was a franchise that would never end as long as people kept buying the video games and merchandise.
Deciding to push her dream to the back of her mind, she got ready for the day. She was humming along to a song playing in her headphones when she noticed a sudden flash of light. She turned and gasped when she saw her closet glowing, and suddenly she remembered the night she came to Dillydale. Her closet back home had been glowing, too, and when she opened the door and went through, she found herself coming out of Little Miss Calamity's closet.
Her mind raced. Where would this portal take her? She froze, remembering in her dream that when she opened the door to the shack, she saw her bedroom. What if she opened the door and she was transported to the world of Pokemon?
She would love to go to the Pokemon world! She took a step toward her closet; then froze. She couldn't go anywhere with Pokemon without being Mr. Scatterbrain. He would love to experience the other world, too.
She hesitated. What if she left and when she came back, the portal was gone? She'd hate to miss her chance to see more Pokemon. But she knew she wouldn't stop thinking about Mr. Scatterbrain and how much he would have loved it if she brought him. She was still torn about what to do when there was a knock at her door.
She took a step toward her living room, glanced at her still glowing closet, and then ran to the front door. Panting, she opened it and grinned.
"Senpai!" she gasped, and he looked at her with concern.
"Are you okay, Miss. Music?" he asked.
She cleared her throat and forced herself to calm down. "Mr. Grumpy, I need you to do me a really big favor."
He blinked, looking confused. "What favor?"
"I need you to go find Mr. Scatterbrain and his pet, Matches for me."
"Scatterbrain!" the blue Mr. Man exclaimed. He narrowed his eyes at her. "Why?"
"I don't have time to explain. Please, Mr. Grumpy, go find him for me and when you get back, I'll explain everything." She looked at him pleadingly. "Please?"
He frowned, looking undecided. Finally, he sighed and muttered," Fine." And he walked off, grumbling to himself. As he left, Little Miss Music spotted someone else. Well, two someone elses.
"Mr. Small! Mr. Nosy!" she called out, and they turned to her. They had been walking down the sidewalk, seeming to be heading toward town, but they stopped and hurried over to her.
"Something wrong, Miss. Music?" asked Mr. Small, looking worried, while his best friend eyed her curiously.
"No time to explain, but can you find Miss. Calamity, and bring her here?" she asked.
They shared a startled look. "I don't understand," Mr. Small said.
"You will soon. Please, just go find her. Something amazing is happening, and I need her and you to come. Mr. Grumpy has gone to find Mr. Scatterbrain and Matches. But we need to hurry. We probably don't have much time left." She glanced back toward her room. "Don't bother knocking when you come back. Come straight to my bedroom. Okay?" They stared at her, and she struggled not to show her impatience. "Please, just trust me."
Finally, Mr. Small took a step back and pulled on his friend's arm. "Come on, Nose. Let's go find Miss. Calamity. We'll be right back," he called as they left.
"Thank you!" Little Miss Music shouted after them. Then she hurried back to her bedroom, praying her closet was still glowing. It was and she felt so relieved that she had to sit on the edge of her bed. It had happened so fast that she didn't really wrap her mind around what she had been doing, but now that she had a moment to reflect on what was happening, she felt excited but nervous, too. What if she was wrong? What if this portal didn't take them to the world of Pokemon?
What if it took them back to the real world? She would have made a fuss over nothing, and if her friends go through, they'd be stuck in her world and she didn't want to go back or trap her friends somewhere she was so unhappy.
"I have to open the closet and see if it really is the Pokemon world," she decided, standing up.
She took a deep breath and stepped closer to the closet. Her hand was shaking as she reached out and took hold of the doorknob. She turned it and opened the door, and immediately her mouth fell open. She was staring out at the wooded area she had seen in her dream, and she could just see the blue sky above. Starlys were flying high above and Bidoofs ran in the grass.
It was real. It was in front of her, and she could feel the pull of the portal. But she stayed where she was, waiting for her friends.
She didn't know how much time passed, but she refused to take her eyes off the portal, terrified it'll close if she looked away. Finally, she heard someone call her name and she answered.
Little Miss Calamity entered her room, closely followed by Mr. Small and Mr. Nosy. Little Miss Music gestured to them and they walked over to her closet.
All three of them gasped. Then Mr. Nosy took a step toward the portal, eyes shining with curiosity. "What is this?" he asked.
Little Miss Music opened her mouth to explain, but she saw the corners of the portal were dissolving.
"Oh no! It's closing!" She turned to Little Miss Calamity. "Mr. Grumpy went to find Mr. Scatterbrain! We can't go through without them!"
Little Miss Calamity blinked. "Why would we go through?"
"This portal will take us to the Pokemon world," she told them. "And I know how much Mr. Scatterbrain wanted to see more Pokemon."
"How did it open?" Mr. Small asked. He looked nervously at the portal. "Is it safe? Er, don't get too close, Mr. Nosy."
"But it's so fascinating," the light green Mr. Man said, inching closer and closer to the closet. Suddenly he stepped through and as soon as he was in the other world, he wasn't a Mr. Man anymore. He was a human! He had a large belly and his hair was light green with darker green eyes.
He lifted his hand and studied them, eyes huge with a mix of wonder and fear.
Mr. Small gasped. "Mr. Nosy! Get back here, please!"
Little Miss Music noticed more of the portal was disappearing and she could start to see her closet on the very edge of the portal.
"If we're going, we need to go now," Little Miss Calamity pointed out.
"But what about Mr. Scatter–?"
Suddenly she heard someone calling her name and she felt so lightheaded with relief that she almost fell down. She called out an answer, and Mr. Grumpy and Mr. Scatterbrain entered her room. Close behind them was the fire monkey, Matches.
"I got him," Mr. Grumpy said, rolling his eyes. "I don't know why I had to bring him, but I–" He broke off when he spotted the portal– more of it was closing.
"No time to explain!" Little Miss Music responded. "Everyone, go through before it closes!"
Immediately Mr. Small went through, also transferring into a human– a rather short human with orange hair and orange eyes. He looked around. Mr. Nosy had disappeared and Mr. Small walked out of sight too.
Next Little Miss Calamity stepped through. She was a girl with orange hair and orange eyes and she looked back at Little Miss Music.
Mr. Grumpy gasped. "I'm not going in there!" he exclaimed. He took a step back when Mr. Scatterbrain stepped closer, curiosity burning in his eyes. Matches stepped forward, too, seeming startled when he noticed Pokemon. Then he jumped forward and went through. Mr. Scatterbrain gasped and hurried after him, suddenly a human with a big belly and magenta hair and eyes. Matches ran off and Mr. Scatterbrain hurried after him.
The portal was nearly gone. Little Miss Music knew she needed to join her friends or they'd be stuck there with barely any knowledge of Pokemon. But she didn't want to leave Mr. Grumpy.
"Please, trust me, Mr. Grumpy," she begged. "It won't hurt you. I promise. We need to go now or we won't be able to go at all."
Mr. Grumpy stared at her. "Why do you want to go through?"
"It's full of Pokemon! It's a wonderful world! Come on, Senpai! Please come with me!" She reached forward to take his hand and stared into his eyes.
He hesitated another moment. Then took a breath and nodded. "Okay." He sighed. "Okay, let's go."
Together they went through the portal and came out in the other world, still holding hands. Blushing, Little Miss Music pulled away from him, in a split second noticing he was a human with blue hair and blue eyes– a very handsome human. Then she turned and spotted Little Miss Calamity waving to her.
She gestured for Mr. Grumpy to follow her and they walked over there. They stood on a hill and far below a river ran across a big open field and everywhere there were Pokemon running, flying, and swimming.
"It's amazing," Little Miss Calamity breathed.
Little Miss Music nodded in agreement. She couldn't believe it. She was here, in the world of Pokemon with her friends. What awaited her in this world, she wondered.
