Pheonix Wright HAD to take this case. The circumstances forced him to. This would be Maya's final case with him before leaving for Kurain village.

The other circumstance was the identity of the victim...

Turner Grey...

A man once thought killed in a past case. A startling revelation that begged the question...

What the hell was going on...?

"Mr. Nick!" Maya Fey, Pheonix Wright's assistant and best friend called out. She was excited for this one, for both of the reasons Pheonix was. This would be her last case, and she wanted to make the most of it.

"Yeah, Maya?" Pheonix asked.

"How do you think Dr. Grey is BACK? I mean... He was KILLED by Mimi Miney..." Maya asked.

"I really don't know... We should go down to the detention center to interview the defendant, Artemesia Dawn..." Pretty name... Sounded like an actress or singer's name... She was the fiance of Dr. Grey. She was found with him dead in their shared, secret apartment.

"Ok!" Maya enthusiastically said, before they walked down to the detention center.

When they got there, they were greeted by the sight of the back of a blue-haired woman's head.

Pheonix talked first. "Uh, excuse me, Ms. Dawn...?"

The woman turned the chair around. She was a pretty woman, in her mid-30s, with blue hair. She was wearing a blue leather jacket. She clasped her hands together.

"OH, you must be Mr. Wright! My defense attorney!" Artemesia said.

Pheonix nodded his head. "Yes, I am. It's nice to meet you, Miss Dawn."

Artemisia brushed him off. "Noooo, you don't have to call me that! Call me Artie!"

"Hi, Artie!" Maya said.

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Maya!" Artie said.

Hmm... This woman seems much too happy and cheerful, seeing as her fiance had just been killed...

Pheonix decided to start asking questions. "Now, Miss Dawn... Do you mind me asking you a few questions?" There were too many questions. How was Grey alive, his relationship with this woman, and most importantly, the identity of his killer? He wanted to tread lightly, though.

Artie clasped her hands together, still acting disturbingly cheerful. "Ok! What would you like to know?"

Pheonix answered. "Well... For starters... Your relationship with Dr. Grey, for starters..."

All of a sudden, it was like a switch flipped. The cheerfulness went away, replaced by a look of sorrow, longing, and love.

"D-Dr. Grey was my... fiance... w-we'd been engaged for the past five years... Dating since 2010..." Her voice cracked slightly. A tear slipped down her cheek. All of a sudden, her sadness disappeared, and she was back to being happy again... But why...?

"Hm...?" Pheonix muttered.

"Sorry! I... I live by a certain philosophy. Never let your grief get you down! Always be happy, and never let it consume you!" Artie said, drying her eyes.

"Hmm.. That's a good philosophy." Pheonix said.

"Thanks! My father taught it to me!" Artie said.

Pheonix cleared his throat. "Alright... These next questions might be a little harder, but... Can you tell me a bit about the death of Dr. Grey... And... And where has he been for the past two years?"

"Ok, let's start!" Great... At least she was willing to answer questions.

The attorney cleared his throat. "Ok. Ms. Dawn, where was Dr. Grey at the time of his murder at Mimi Miney's hands? And, most importantly, who was the man murdered?

Artie was calm. "The man who was murdered was named Brian Grey. Turner's twin brother."

Pheonix's eyes widened. twin brother...? He thought. "Really...?"

Artie nodded. "Yes. That was his twin brother who was sadly murdered by that Miney woman...

"Alright... Now, where was Turner Grey during the time of his- er his brother's death?"

"Well... Seeing as they're both gone, and I'm in no position to lie to anyone..." Artemisia cleared her throat. "After... After the malpractice incident that claimed fourteen lives back in 2016, he decided to go into hiding with me. Because of his successful medical career, and our investments, we could live comfortably. Brian agreed to take his place and take the heat for the incident. We never would've thought he'd get murdered..." Artie sounded regretful, yet STILL had that same cheerfulness... Something was off...

Pheonix realized something. "Wait. Miss Dawn. It was known that Ini and Mimi Miney were involved in a car crash claiming their lives... What about that? Which brother was involved? And more importantly, why would you stay with a man who'd do such a thing...?

Artie cringed. She knew this was coming, but still kept her cheerful demeanor. "Both brothers were involved. Turner came up with the idea, while Brian drugged both Ini and Mimi. And as for your second question... I... I loved him... If there's one thing I've learned in my life, it's that love makes people do crazy, and oftentimes irrational things..."

Pheonix wasn't sure he could get behind her staying with that man, but he didn't mention any more about it. There were more pressing matters at hand. Like what he was about to ask. "Miss Dawn... Could you tell me about the crime...?"

"Yes... We were in our cabin mansion on Big Bear Lake... I... I'd been sleeping... It was still early. I'd felt someone touching my hand. I thought it was Turner getting up before me, but it wasn't..." She'd lost just a bit of cheerfulness.

Pheonix urged her to go on.

"It was the shooter, putting my prints on the handle of his gun... If only I'd have woken up... I might've been able to stop him... But then we both would've been dead... Anyway, the shooter was wearing gloves, so none of his prints got on the handle..." Artie said.

"I see... And, what about Dr. Grey's death...?" Maya urged on.

"I... I heard a loud bang come from the living room... I... I got out of bed and went to see what had happened. And, there he was... My Turner, dead... He'd been shot through his head..." Artemesia's voice cracked. She must have really loved Turner...

"I see... And... You were arrested...?" Phoenix asked.

"Yes... I called the police, and because my fingerprints were on the gun, and there was no sign of a break-in, I was arrested..." Artie said.

Phoenix nodded. "Ok. I think we're done here today. The first day of the trial is today, so I think you should save the rest for then."

"Thank you, Mr Wright! You've really been a big help already!"

"You're welcome, Artie," Phoenix said.

Both he and Maya went to get themselves ready for the first day of trial.
