AN: Just to clarify, in this universe Kushina didn't seal just a part of her soul. She sealed the entire thing so technically she didn't die and she has seen EVERYTHING! So she is extremely pissed!
With that said!
Three Days Later/ Root Headquarters
Danzo seethed with frustration.
Twice now, the Kyuubi Jinchuriki had dealt him humiliating blows.
It had required nearly all of his political clout and 'personal sway' within the village to quash the recent charges leveled against him after the tumultuous council meeting three days prior. Despite the sacrifice of four of his trusted ROOT operatives in a futile attempt to shield him from the Kyuubi's assault, investigations yielded no ties to him, nor could they extract any pertinent information from the fallen agents' minds. Many among the council, even the Hokage, were aware of his clandestine operations, yet proof remained elusive.
He harbored a profound love for his village, yet was dismayed by its direction over the years. Though he couldn't deny Konohagakure's significance in ninja history, he felt it fell short of its potential. In his vision, Konoha should inspire fear in its adversaries, rather than being perceived as meek and reactive.
Were he Hokage, he would realize this vision. He would compel the other Great Nations to kneel before Konoha's might, its shinobi trained to perfection under his guidance.
Konoha would stand unrivaled as the sole superpower.
Such musings only fueled his frustration, particularly when he considered the wasted potential represented by the Kyuubi Jinchuriki.
So much power, yet beyond his grasp.
Had he been given custody of the boy from the outset, he could have molded him into a weapon that would eclipse even his parents' legacies. With the combined strength of his mother's lineage, his father's intellect, and the inexhaustible chakra of the Kyuubi, the boy would have been an unrivaled asset to ROOT, obedient only to Danzo himself. But recent events had shaken the boy's loyalty to Sarutobi, leaving Danzo to lament the missed opportunity.
'Fugaku, this was not the way the plan was supposed to unfold!' Danzo fumed, his frustration palpable. Seven years meticulously strategizing how to acquire the boy, intending to mold him into his ultimate soldier. The attack was meant to leave the boy shattered, both physically and mentally, ripe for Danzo's shaping. Yet somehow, the boy emerged stronger, with an entourage capable of elemental attacks without a handsign. Not even Danzo's stolen Sharingan could decipher or replicate this power. With such ability at his disposal, the boy could bypass the time-consuming handsigns in battle, positioning himself to dominate not just Konoha but the entirety of the Five Great Nations.
His reverie was interrupted by the appearance of one of his undercover spies, swirling into view and kneeling before him. The spy's pallid complexion spoke of a life deprived of sunlight, clad in a black zip-up jacket that exposed his toned abdomen and part of his right arm. Standard attire for a ROOT Anbu member, his black pants, shoes, and kunai holster completed the ensemble, secured to his right upper leg.
"Report," Danzo commanded, snapping back to the present.
Unperturbed by his master's wrathful demeanor, the operative donned a forced smile, aiming to uplift him, even as he pondered the potential of kindness to counteract anger.
"It appears there will be a forthcoming test to gauge the Uzumaki's progress. My investigation suggests they'll face all Genin who pass their respective sensei's trials with their squads," the operative informed.
"Is that factual?" Danzo inquired, instantly captivated. His mind schemed, devising a plan to dismantle the two youths. "They're better off eliminated if I can't control them. Power should reside solely with me," he ruminated, echoing the Uchiha mindset, snapping his fingers.
Instantly, three ROOT officers materialized, kneeling behind the spy, fully attired in Anbu battle gear. Each bore identical attire and masks, save for one with a black mask, distinct from the standard white.
"What are your orders, Danzo-sama?" the black-masked officer intoned monotonously, kneeling before her leader.
"I'm assigning you four to separate extended missions. Sai, your task is to monitor Sasuke Uchiha and, if feasible, observe Kakashi Hatake, who undoubtedly will serve as his sensei," Danzo instructed, turning away to observe the rest of his youthful operatives training in the concealed facility beneath the village.
"As you command, Danzo-sama," Sai acknowledged, vanishing in a swirl of leaves, a sly grin adorning his face, unnoticed by Danzo.
"The three of you are tasked with surveilling Naruto Uzumaki and Yugito Uzumaki. Engage them only if they leave the village or upon my directive. However, if the opportunity arises, eliminate them and retrieve their bodies," Danzo commanded with a sadistic smirk. He recognized these three as his most lethal assets, capable of decimating an entire platoon of shinobi if given the chance.
"As you wish, Danzo-sama," the black-masked officer responded in the same monotonous tone, along with her two companions, disappearing in a swirl of leaves.
"Soon, Konoha will be under my control... Very soon," Danzo mused, envisioning his envisioned world order.
Hinata strolled towards the academy, enveloped in a euphoric haze. One of her deepest desires, cherished over her sixteen years of life, had finally materialized. She basked in the glow of Naruto's recent confession, feeling as if she were floating on air. The fact that he was willing to give her a chance, reciprocating her feelings with a fervor she had never known, seemed surreal.
Taking the picture she had discovered near the Hyuga Compound out of her jacket pocket, she was overwhelmed with arousal at the sight. Whether it stemmed from the image itself or her vivid fantasies of entwining with her beloved Naru-kun remained uncertain. However, as she contemplated the possibility of copies circulating town, a twinge of concern crept into her thoughts. Rivals could emerge, jeopardizing her newfound happiness.
Frowning at the notion, Hinata reflected on the allure of Sasuke Uchiha, a 'heartthrob' among the village's females. His status as an Uchiha, coupled with his undeniable attractiveness and tragic backstory, captivated the attention of many. Yet, beneath his facade lay arrogance and shallow intrigue. Naruto, on the other hand, effortlessly fulfilled two of these criteria. His transformed appearance exuded confidence, while his mysterious aura intrigued all but her, having spent years observing him closely.
Despite her butterflies about the upcoming Team selections, Hinata's determination to reveal her true self and pursue her aspirations burned bright. In the shadows of Naruto's training journey, she had honed her skills in the Gentle Fist and other arts, concealed from even her closest kin. For a decade, she endured the guise of weakness imposed upon her by her family, determined to prove them wrong and fulfill her mother's wishes. Today marked the beginning of her journey as a ninja.
Her reverie was interrupted by the sensation of an arm encircling her waist, gently pulling her closer. Turning to meet Naruto's gaze, she found herself captivated by the deeper hue of his eyes, the slitted pupils, and the whisker-like scars adorning his cheeks. His golden locks danced in the breeze, lending him an almost divine aura. His genuine smile, free from the mask of pain he once wore, melted her heart, reaffirming their connection.
"Morning, Sunshine," Naruto greeted her tenderly, leaning down to plant a gentle kiss on her temple, eliciting a blush that painted her cheeks. The simple gesture sent a jolt through her, but she managed to compose herself, resisting the urge to either swoon or embrace him right there in the street, amidst the curious gazes of passersby. Ah, the wonders of teenage hormones.
"Morning, Foxy-kun," Hinata responded, leaning into his embrace, relishing his closeness while ignoring the envious and disdainful looks from both younger and older females around them. Naruto chuckled at the playful nickname he had coined for her, amused by the scornful glances they received from villagers, likely pondering over ridiculous notions like 'How could the Hyuuga heiress consort with the demon?' or 'Has the Kyuubi's influence turned her into a demon consort?' He paid them no mind, focusing solely on Hinata. However, their peaceful moment was interrupted by a group of villagers crowding around them, forcing them to halt.
"Release the Hyuga heiress, demon brat," sneered a bald villager, his words cut short by Naruto's sudden display of menacing aura, enough to silence and intimidate them all.
"Move or face the consequences," Naruto's voice turned cold, causing a shiver to run down Hinata's spine, realizing that this wasn't the same boy they once knew. As they continued walking, the crowd parted, too terrified to utter another word.
"Do you sense it?" Hinata inquired, still nestled against him.
"I do. Seems like someone wants to exploit me for personal gain," Naruto sighed, reverting to his calm demeanor. "But I refuse to let them ruin our day." He tightened his grip around Hinata, drawing her closer, earning a startled gasp and a deep blush from her as they vanished in a burst of speed, leaving behind a frustrated pursuer.
Meanwhile, at the Academy, it was another typical day. Shikamaru dozed off at his desk, while Choji indulged in a bag of chips nearby. Shino communicated silently with his insects, and Kiba joked with Akamaru, eagerly awaiting Hinata's arrival so he could attempt to impress her now that they were both ninja. Amidst the usual chatter, some girls fawned over the absent Sasuke, while others blushed at different pictures. Suddenly, the door burst open, revealing an irate Sasuke.
"Where's the idiot and his..." Before he could finish, a powerful gust of wind knocked him off his feet, startling the rest of the classmates. The wind subsided as quickly as it came, revealing Naruto and a slightly bewildered Hinata.
"Shunpo," he mentioned, a technique gifted by the fastest woman in history, promising an introduction another time. Releasing Hinata's waist, he noticed her slight pout, her curiosity evident.
"You didn't mention the exam a couple of days ago," she voiced her worry, her concern for him palpable.
"It was a simple test, checking if I'm fit for being a ninja. Don't worry, I passed," Naruto reassured, his smile causing Hinata's cheeks to flush with a mixture of relief and admiration.
Before Hinata could respond, an unwelcome figure approached, growling like a guard dog. It was Kiba, his frustration evident in his posture and voice.
"Hey, you stupid blond," Kiba's anger was palpable, his tone dripping with hostility.
Naruto, nonchalant as ever, remarked, "Hello, Inuzuka. You smell better today. New soap?" His calm demeanor seemed to agitate Kiba even more.
"What did you do to my mom and sister?" Kiba demanded, his voice rising with each word.
"Well, your mom seems to have taken a liking to me. And as for your sister, blame the village elders for assigning her the examination," Naruto replied calmly, his tone unwavering despite Kiba's aggression.
Hinata was surprised, realizing a woman had examined Naruto. Jealousy flickered momentarily in her chest, but she suppressed it, focusing on maintaining her composure in front of Kiba.
"I'll take it up with the elders... after I deal with you for touching MY Hinata," Kiba threatened, attempting to strike Naruto, only to have his hand stopped mid-air by Yugito, who had approached unnoticed.
Yugito's cold voice intervened, her presence commanding attention, "Sit down or suffer the consequences." Her words were like ice, freezing the tension in the air.
As Kiba retreated, the class watched in surprise, wondering when Yugito had arrived and marveling at her authority.
"Settle down, class," Iruka called out later, met with the usual disregard from the students. With a vein pulsating on his forehead, he resorted to his Angry Big Head Jutsu: "EVERYONE SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!" His exasperation was evident as he tried to regain control of the unruly classroom.
Iruka's demeanor elicited the exact response he desired. When he adopted that particular tone, it signaled seriousness, and the students in his class instinctively refrained from any mischief. Naruto's face twisted into an almost amused smirk. Although Iruka typically spoke softly, his anger was palpable, and the kids knew better than to provoke him.
Setting his class materials on the podium, the Chuunin observed his students. "Good. Now, as you're here, it means you've passed the Genin exam. Congratulations. Your journey into the world of being a Shinobi has just begun, and it will only become more challenging from here."
Naruto mentally tuned out Iruka's speech on responsibilities and hardships they were about to face for the sake of Konoha. The idea of him contributing to the 'good of Konoha' seemed ludicrous at this point. His indifference towards Konoha and most of its inhabitants was evident.
Although he allowed himself to drift momentarily, Naruto's attention piqued at the mention of team assignments. As names were called out, he recognized familiar ones. "Team 7 will consist of Sai, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha, led by Jounin sensei Kakashi Hatake." While the room anticipated Naruto's outrage at not being on Sakura's team, they were taken aback by his unexpected response: "Thank goodness I'm spared from those idiots."
"Are you not upset?" inquired Shikamaru, recovering from his shock.
"About?" Naruto retorted.
"It's common knowledge you had a crush on Sakura."
"Tch. Why would I like someone with a forehead the size of a billboard... I mean, have you seen it?"
Sakura teared up, despite her focus on Sasuke, as Naruto's attention was the only one she appreciated, being the only one who didn't mock her appearance.
Before any gossip could ensue, Iruka proceeded with the team assignments. "Team 8 will consist of Kiba Inuzuka, Shino Aburame, and Hinata Hyuuga, led by Jounin sensei Kurenai Yuhi," announced Iruka, noting Hinata's dejection and Kiba's elation, while Shino remained impassive.
"Yes, Hinata is on my team. Take that, blond-haired, blue-eyed freak. Now she'll become my Bitch," boasted Kiba, eliciting a disapproving whimper from Akamaru.
'He's sealed his fate,' thought Shino, sensing impending trouble.
Indeed, trouble ensued as Akamaru, sensing danger, leaped off Kiba's head. Oblivious to the danger, Kiba's jubilation was short-lived as Naruto seized him by the throat and slammed him against the wall. Applying pressure, Naruto issued a chilling warning, causing Kiba to choke in fear.
"Listen, I gave you a pass once. But don't think I won't finish what I started. If you so much as breathe in her direction, there won't be enough left to fill a matchbox," Naruto's voice was cold, striking fear into Kiba.
"Crystal clear," croaked Kiba, struggling to breathe.
"Good. I know you're smarter than you look," Naruto remarked before returning to his seat, receiving a mixture of fearful and awestruck looks from his classmates, while Sasuke openly glared at him.
Iruka sought to alleviate the tension as he spoke further, "Given that Team 9 remains intact from last year, there's no need to form a new one this year. Team 10 will comprise Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara, and Choji Akimichi, with Jounin Asuma Sarutobi as their sensei." Observing the expression on the faces of Team 10's members, he noticed the boys appeared content while the girl seemed despondent. Once again, Iruka recognized the Hokage's wisdom in team assignments. This trio represented the reincarnation of their parents, the original Ino-Shika-Chou group, a tradition where clan heads named their children after their predecessors or modified the names for a touch of innovation.
Moving on, he announced, "Team 11 will consist of Naruto Uzumaki and Yugito Uzumaki, under the guidance of Jounin Yamato Zaimoku..."
Sasuke interjected with derision, "Ha! The loser doesn't even get a full squad? I always knew you'd forever be the dead last, Naruto."
Unfazed, Iruka clarified, "Actually, Uchiha, the Hokage has designated them as the first 'Elite Genin' of their graduating class, a title not bestowed lightly since the days of the Hokage himself. They will also train under Anko Mitarashi." Sasuke's smirk faltered at the mention of Naruto and Yugito's elevated status.
Perplexed, Sasuke questioned, "Elite Genin?" Clearly displeased that he wasn't the recipient of such distinction.
"Why does Naruto get special treatment and not Sasuke-kun or anyone else?" Sakura chimed in.
Yugito, unimpressed, remarked, "Typical fangirl."
Before Sakura could retaliate, Iruka intervened firmly, "No, Haruno. This village upholds standards against favoritism. The Hokage's recommendation led to these assignments. Your Jounin instructors will elaborate on your specialized teams and capabilities once they arrive later today. With that, I bid you luck and congratulations on attaining the rank of Genin. Rest assured, you've all earned it." With those words, Iruka departed.
Naruto reclined in his chair, drawing his cloak's hood over his face to shield his eyes. "Wake me when our senseis arrive," he murmured, his voice muffled by the fabric. With a slight slump of his shoulders, a gentle snore escaped his lips. Hinata and Yugito exchanged amused glances, sweatdropping at his antics.
Gradually, as time passed, the other teams departed, leaving only teams 7, 8, 10, and 11 to endure the two-hour wait.
As the door slowly swung open, a hushed reverence settled over the room, anticipation palpable in the air. The eyes of those gathered turned towards the newcomers, their gazes immediately drawn to the figure of undeniable allure that stepped through the threshold.
Amidst the gathering, a figure emerged, a symphony of sensuality and grace personified. Her long, ebony locks cascaded in opulent waves, each strand whispering secrets of allure and mystery. The untamed quality of her hair framed her face with an enchanting halo, enhancing the delicate contours of her features, which bore the mark of ethereal beauty.
Yet, it was her eyes that truly ensnared all who beheld her-a mesmerizing shade of ruby red, sparkling with a subtle mischief that hinted at concealed depths. Within their depths lay promises of whispered secrets, drawing others into their captivating embrace with each glance.
Adorned in attire that spoke volumes of elegance and enigma, her presence commanded attention and admiration. Swathed in layers of pristine white fabric, which draped sinuously over her form, she exuded an understated sensuality that tantalized the senses. A snug white vest hugged her curves, teasing at the softness of her skin, while a daring fishnet shirt beneath added an element of intrigue to her ensemble. One sleeve, a bold crimson hue, trailed languidly down her wrist, a striking contrast against the purity of her attire.
A slender headband adorned her brow, lending a regal air to her captivating visage. With each movement, she exuded confidence and allure, leaving an indelible impression on all who crossed her path. In her, sophistication and sensuality intertwined, creating a vision of mesmerizing beauty that left hearts aflutter in her wake.
As the anticipation crackled in the air, another figure entered the scene, drawing every eye with an irresistible magnetism. Her presence, like a bolt of lightning, infused the room with a charged energy, sparking excitement and intrigue in her wake.
With confident strides, she traversed the space, her spiky purple ponytail swaying in defiance against the subdued backdrop. Her deep brown eyes held a captivating intensity, hinting at a world of untold stories and hidden desires as they scanned the room with a knowing glint.
Clad in attire that epitomized daring and sophistication, she exuded a unique blend of confidence and allure. Beneath a casually draped tan trench coat, she wore a provocative fishnet shirt, its intricate patterns alluding to the mysteries concealed beneath. The fabric hugged her form, revealing glimpses of an orange skirt that accentuated her curves, a vibrant splash against the backdrop of her ensemble.
Each movement resonated with purpose, exuding a potent combination of strength and allure that demanded attention. She was a vision of unbridled beauty, a force of nature poised on the edge of liberation. In her presence, the air crackled with anticipation, a tempest waiting to be unleashed.
Following closely behind, another figure strode into the room with quiet confidence, his understated demeanor commanding attention nonetheless. Clad in attire that exuded rugged charm, he wore a fitted black shirt that accentuated his toned physique, hinting at the strength that lay beneath its surface.
Over his shirt, a dark green flak jacket adorned with an array of pockets spoke of his readiness for any challenge. Its sturdy material bore faint traces of wear, evidence of countless battles waged and won.
Encased in sturdy black pants, he moved with the ease of a seasoned warrior, his every step purposeful and calculated. A utility belt adorned with pouches and tools hung low on his hips, a testament to his resourcefulness and preparedness for any eventuality.
Completing his ensemble were polished black boots, their sturdy soles providing stability as he navigated the room with quiet determination. From head to toe, he exuded an aura of strength and resolve, a warrior prepared to face whatever trials lay ahead.
Stepping into the room with a calm and collected demeanor, another figure captured the attention of all present. Clad in attire that exuded authority and professionalism, he commanded respect without uttering a word.
His tall frame was encased in a fitted black shirt, its fabric hinting at the power that lay beneath. A dark green flak jacket, adorned with various pockets and compartments, further emphasized his readiness for any situation.
Loose-fitting cargo pants in muted khaki hung comfortably from his hips, allowing for ease of movement as he navigated the room with purpose. Tucked into sturdy boots, the cuffs of his pants ensured unrestricted movement as he moved with practiced ease.
A utility belt, meticulously organized and adorned with tools, hung at his waist, a testament to his preparedness and professionalism. Draped over his head, a dark brown cloak cast his features in shadow, adding to his aura of mystery and authority.
Though his expression remained impassive, there was an undeniable sense of strength and determination that radiated from him. In his presence, one couldn't help but feel reassured, knowing that he was a steadfast ally and formidable opponent. He was more than just a man-he was a guardian, a protector of peace, whose unwavering commitment inspired those around him to greatness.
Absolutely, let's reflect Kakashi's nonchalant demeanor in the passage:
They glared at them with evident frustration, their patience wearing thin after two long hours of waiting. Naruto, in contrast, threw back his hood, his eyes narrowing with a mix of anger and several other fleeting emotions that flickered and vanished before anyone could discern them fully.
"Apologies for the delay. We were on the hunt for this guy," Anko barked, jabbing a thumb towards her silver-haired companion, who simply shrugged indifferently.
"Lost on the road of life, as usual. Anyway, my initial impression? I've already found a few reasons to dislike some of you. Meet us on the roof," Kakashi remarked casually, as if discussing the weather, before sauntering out of the room with a lazy gait, the other four following suit. This nonchalant departure left the genin to sweat nervously, unsure of what to make of their new sensei's laid-back attitude.
"Come on, you losers-" Sasuke began, only to watch Naruto swiftly grab Hinata and Yugito, vanishing from sight in a shunshin. He clenched his fists, seething with frustration as Naruto once again effortlessly accomplished something he couldn't.
"How does he keep pulling that off? I'm an Uchiha, damn it!" Sasuke thought bitterly, his rage simmering beneath the surface.
(Rooftop)
Team seven, eight, ten, and eleven found themselves perched on the academy roof, their newly formed squads arranged neatly in front of their respective sensei. Kakashi, with his perpetually bored expression, decided it was time for introductions.
"Alright, everyone, now that you're officially teams, let's break the ice a bit. Tell us your name, your likes, dislikes, goals, and dreams for the future," he instructed, his lone visible eye scanning the group.
Sakura, ever eager, requested, "Could you start, Kakashi-sensei? It'll help us understand what you're looking for."
Kakashi's response was characteristically vague, almost as if he were lost in some distant reverie. "Well, my name is Kakashi Hatake. I have my preferences and dislikes, and my dreams... well, they're not something you'd understand at your age," he trailed off, his gaze drifting skyward, leaving his students none the wiser.
Naruto, never one to let a lack of information slide, seized the opportunity to fill in the gaps. "Kakashi Hatake, born on June 26 to Sakumo 'White Fang' Hatake and Aikiko Hatake, both deceased. Renowned as an A-Rank, borderline S-Rank shinobi, known by many names but most famously as 'Gin Inu' since the Third Great Shinobi War. Ranked as the fourth strongest in Konoha, if you include the Hokage and the two remaining loyal Sannin. Rumored to have mastered over a thousand jutsus in his career. Former teammates included Obito Uchiha, Rin Inuzuka, and Minato Namikaze, all of whom met tragic ends," he recited, earning wide-eyed stares from his peers, except Yugito, who seemed unfazed. A slow nod from Kakashi confirmed Naruto's words.
Sensing the tension, Anko redirected the focus onto herself. "Alright, maggots," she began, adopting a tone that demanded attention. "I'm Anko Mitarashi. I enjoy dango, studying poisons, and rigorous training. My dislikes? Well, there's a certain Snake bastard and the villagers' unjust hatred toward me. My hobbies include devouring dango and prowling the forest. As for my dream, it's simple: to one day exact revenge on a certain man," she concluded, her last words dripping with palpable animosity as she fixed her gaze on Naruto, sparking curiosity among her peers.
Yugito couldn't help but admire Anko's boldness, silently acknowledging her as a kindred spirit. Meanwhile, the rest of the genin, even Sasuke, found themselves silently relieved that Anko wasn't their sensei.
Feeling the weight of everyone's stares, Naruto decided to address the unspoken questions looming in the air.
"Anko 'Hebi-Hime' Mitarashi, a Special Jounin, once walked the path of darkness under the tutelage of the enigmatic Snake Sannin, Orochimaru," Naruto began, his voice steady despite the weight of the memories he was about to evoke. "Bound by the first ten samples of the Cursed Seal of Heaven, she, like nine others, bore the mark of Orochimaru's twisted experimentation."
His words hung in the air for a moment, interrupted only by the subtle shift of tension in Anko's demeanor. Undeterred, Naruto continued, "Of those ten, Mitarashi alone defied the odds and survived, defying the grim statistics that accompanied the cursed brand. Orochimaru deemed her unworthy of further servitude, perhaps sensing a lack of the ruthless ambition necessary to fuel the seal's dark powers."
A flicker of emotion passed over Anko's features, a mix of resentment and resignation, prompting Naruto to push on. "Yet, despite its torment, she still bears the burden of that mark," he remarked, a note of curiosity lacing his words as he glanced at the symbol etched into her flesh.
As Naruto concluded his explanation about the cursed seal, the tension on the Academy rooftop was palpable. Anko's reaction was swift and fierce, her voice cutting through the air with raw emotion.
"IT'S BECAUSE NO ONE CAN TAKE IT OFF, YOU LITTLE SHIT!" Anko's outburst echoed against the backdrop of the rooftop, her frustration evident as she addressed Naruto's mention of the cursed mark.
Naruto's response was not one of anger but incredulity. "Seriously? No one in this village can remove such a cheap, amateur seal?" he retorted, his voice tinged with disbelief. "That's beyond pathetic."
Asuma, attempting to defend the village's reputation, stepped forward, his frustration evident in his tone.
"It's not as simple as you think, Naruto," he interjected sharply, his voice carrying a tone of aggression. "Removing a seal like that requires delicate skill and precision, skills you clearly lack."
Naruto, unfazed by Asuma's aggression, shot back with a cold question aimed directly at him. "If the village's seal masters are so skilled, then why has it never been removed from her?" His words hung in the air, challenging Asuma's defense.
Anko's piercing gaze shifted to Naruto, her skepticism palpable. "Do you have any knowledge of seal work, Naruto?" she demanded, her voice edged with doubt.
Unfazed, Naruto met Anko's gaze with unwavering confidence. "I'm a level 27 certified," he stated matter-of-factly, his tone devoid of arrogance.
Kakashi, ever observant, couldn't help but interject with a hint of confusion. "Level 27? As far as I know, seal master certifications only go up to 12," he remarked, seeking clarification.
Naruto's response was informative, less hostile than before. "That's true for worldwide certifications," he explained, his eyes briefly locking with Kakashi's to convey a subtle message. "But Uzumaki certifications extend up to level 30. And the only non-Uzumaki to reach level 21 was Minato Namikaze."
Yamato, intrigued by Naruto's revelation, voiced his curiosity. "Do you know of anyone who made it to level 30?" he inquired, his interest piqued.
Naruto's reply was swift and reverent. "Only Mito Uzumaki, the wife of the Shodaime Hokage," he revealed, his tone carrying a sense of admiration.
Sasuke, ever skeptical, rudely interjected with a sneer. "You expect us to believe that nonsense?" he scoffed, his tone dripping with disdain
However, Kakashi intervened, correcting their misconceptions about the Uzumaki clan's prowess in seal mastery. "The Uzumaki hailed from the Island of Uzushio and were valued allies of Konoha," he clarified, his tone firm. "In fact, the swirls on our Jonin vests pay homage to their legacy."
Anko, her curiosity piqued by the conversation, turned back to Naruto. "So, you're a certified seal master?" she inquired, a hint of begrudging respect in her voice.
Naruto nodded, a small smirk playing on his lips. "That's right," he confirmed, his confidence evident. "And I know more than a thing or two about removing cursed seals."
Anko raised an eyebrow, her interest piqued. "Well then, Naruto," she began, a smirk of her own forming. "Perhaps you'd be willing to lend your expertise sometime?"
Sakura rudely interrupted, casting doubt on Naruto's claims. "Naruto is just an idiot," she interjected with disdain, her tone dripping with skepticism. "He's probably just lying to sound important."
Hinata, in defense to her Naruto, couldn't let Sakura's comment slide. "That's not true, Sakura," she spoke up regally, her voice firm. "Naruto has always been honest and trustworthy. I believe him, even if we haven't seen his work yet."
Sakura's eyes narrowed, a retort forming on her lips, but before she could respond, Hinata added a surprising twist to her defense. "Besides," she continued, her voice taking on a sarcastic edge, "it's not like we've seen your impressive ninja skills lately, Sakura." The comment stunned the group into silence momentarily, until Yugito let out a bark of laughter, breaking the tension and earning a shocked glance from Sakura.
Yamato intervened. "Alright, let's stay focused," he interjected, his tone commanding. "We're here to introduce ourselves and discuss the mission, not argue." His words brought a halt to the brewing confrontation, redirecting the group's attention back to the task at hand.
The Jounin with crimson eyes introduction unfolded on the serene backdrop of the academy rooftop, her presence commanding attention as she spoke. With a subtle, sultry allure woven into her professional demeanor, she began, "My name is Kurenai Yuhi." Her voice, smooth as silk, carried a hint of mystery that drew the gaze of the male genin present, their attention captured by her every word.
As her eyes swept over the rooftop, she couldn't help but notice how effortlessly she held their attention, especially that of the male genin. Yet, when her gaze lingered on Naruto, there was no recognition in his eyes, no flicker of acknowledgment. It stung, though she maintained her composed exterior, concealing the hurt beneath her professional facade.
Despite the pang of disappointment, Kurenai remained poised and collected. "I specialize in various genjutsu techniques," she continued, her voice steady. "Outside of duty, I find solace in karaoke and nurturing my garden." A small smile graced her lips as she added, "But I must admit, I have a particular dislike for rowdy drunks and those who underestimate me because of my gender."
Her words resonated with authority and charm against the backdrop of the academy rooftop, the gentle breeze carrying her voice across the open space. As the atmosphere settled, Kurenai's composed exterior belied the turmoil within. Though Naruto's indifference wounded her pride, she refused to let it show. With a subtle shift in focus, she steered the conversation forward, determined to maintain her professional demeanor and lead her team with unwavering resolve.
In the midst of her composed facade, however, Kurenai couldn't shake the lingering ache of being dismissed by Naruto. Despite her best efforts to conceal it, the hurt remained, a silent reminder of the vulnerability hidden beneath her confident exterior on the tranquil rooftop of the academy.
"I'm Asuma Sarutobi," the bearded Jounin announced. "I find solace in cigarettes and cherish moments of tranquility. I have little tolerance for rigid structures, entitled brats, or fathers who abandon their own for bastards," he stated firmly, his gaze lingering on Naruto, who remained aloof.
"My aspiration? Simply to outlast the rest of you and, perhaps, find someone worthy to start a family with," Asuma declared, dismissing the stifled chuckles from Anko and Kakashi, and Kurenai's incredulous glance.
Naruto leaned back, his expression a mix of boredom and amusement. "Your dream sounds lovely, Asuma-sensei. But I wonder how you'll manage it with all those rumors about you in the red-light district."
Asuma's initial shock at Naruto's brazen remark quickly transformed into simmering anger. "What did you just say, you insolent bastard?" he spat out, his voice laden with venom.
The word "bastard" hit Kakashi like a punch to the gut. His eyes flashed with anger, his fists clenching involuntarily. Before he could react, Naruto's retort cut through the tension like a knife.
"Don't project your daddy issues onto me," Naruto snapped back, his words cutting like a blade. "He had a job to do. Get over it."
The rooftop fell silent, the weight of Naruto's harsh words hanging heavily in the air. Asuma's attempt to regain control failed as he lunged towards Naruto, driven by fury.
Reacting swiftly, Kakashi and Yamato intercepted, restraining Asuma before he could reach Naruto. "Calm down, Asuma," Kakashi ordered sternly, his voice brooking no argument.
Asuma struggled against their hold, his rage burning bright. "But he insulted me!" he protested, his voice thick with indignation.
Kakashi's expression hardened, his tone unwavering. "If you can't control yourself, Asuma, then leave. We don't need your tantrums here," he declared sharply, his words cutting through the tension like a knife.
Reluctantly, Asuma ceased his struggles, his anger still smoldering beneath the surface. Kakashi's rebuke hung in the air, a stark reminder of the consequences of losing control.
As the confrontation between Asuma and Naruto unfolded on the rooftop, the other Genin watched in a mix of confusion and disapproval.
Sakura frowned, her brow furrowing as she glanced between the two. "What's going on?" she whispered to Sasuke, who merely shrugged in response, equally perplexed.
Hinata bit her lip, her usually timid demeanor replaced by concern as she looked towards Kakashi for guidance. "Shouldn't someone do something?" she murmured to Shino, who nodded in agreement.
Ino crossed her arms, her expression one of disdain as she observed the heated exchange. "This is so unprofessional," she muttered under her breath to Shikamaru, who lazily nodded in response.
Choji shifted uncomfortably, his gaze darting between the tense Asuma and relaxed Naruto. "Do you think they'll be okay?" he asked Yugito, who shrugged uncertainly, not really caring either way.
Amidst the murmurs of confusion and disapproval, Kurenai remained silent, her gaze fixed on Asuma with a mixture of disappointment and disapproval. She had expected better from her colleague, and his behavior only served to reinforce her growing disillusionment.
Kurenai, sensing the need to intervene, stepped forward with a stern expression. "Uzumaki, your behavior is unacceptable. Show some respect-"
But before she could finish her reprimand, Naruto's patience snapped. "Of course you would say something now," he interjected sharply, his voice laced with anger, surprising even Hinata and Yugito with the intensity of his outburst.
Kurenai recoiled slightly at the sudden interruption, her words caught in her throat. The other Genin exchanged puzzled glances, taken aback by Naruto's uncharacteristic display of emotion.
The brief display of Naruto's anger sent a shiver down Kurenai's spine, her feelings wounded by his interruption and the intensity of his gaze. Despite her efforts to maintain her composure, she couldn't shake the unease that lingered in the air.
Yugito's telepathic voice gently reached out to Naruto's mind, her tone soft and soothing. "Naruto, please try to calm down. I know you usually have a great hold on your emotions. What's troubling you?"
Naruto's thoughts raced as he struggled to find the words to respond. "It's... it's just a lot, Yugi," he replied mentally, his voice tinged with frustration. "Being here, seeing certain people... it's bringing back memories I'd rather forget."
Yugito listened attentively, her presence a comforting anchor amidst Naruto's turmoil. "I understand," she replied empathetically. "But you're not alone, Naruto. We're here for you. Take a deep breath and focus on the present moment."
Taking Yugito's advice, Naruto closed his eyes and concentrated on his breathing, attempting to quiet the storm of emotions raging within him. But just as he felt himself beginning to relax, he felt a gentle touch on his hand.
Opening his eyes, Naruto saw Hinata sitting beside him, her expression filled with worry. His heart skipped a beat as he felt her hand interlace with his, grounding him in the present moment.
With Yugito's reassurance and Hinata's comforting touch, Naruto felt a sense of calm wash over him. He turned to Hinata, meeting her worried gaze with a small, reassuring smile.
"It's okay now, Hinata," Naruto said softly, his voice filled with sincerity. "I'm fine." He brought her hand to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss against her skin as a gesture of gratitude for her unwavering support.
Hinata's eyes softened at Naruto's words, a sense of relief washing over her. She squeezed his hand gently, silently conveying her understanding and support.
"Thank you, Yugi," Naruto conveyed silently, his gratitude evident in his thoughts. "I appreciate your help."
Yugito's response was gentle and reassuring. "Anytime, Naruto. Remember, you're stronger than you realize. Lean on us when you need to."
Kurenai's gaze shifted to Hinata as she observed the interaction between her and Naruto, her surprise evident. Hinata's usually timid demeanor seemed to fade away in that moment, replaced by a sense of determination and support for Naruto. Kurenai couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy at the sight, old feelings stirring within her.
Memories of her own interactions with Naruto flooded back, reminding her of the barriers she had once erected between them. She recalled the hesitance and uncertainty that had characterized their interactions, especially on Hinata's part.
Despite the surge of jealousy and longing that threatened to surface, Kurenai swiftly pushed those emotions aside, refusing to let them cloud her judgment. She knew that dwelling on the past would only serve to distract her from the present situation.
As the tension on the rooftop reached its peak, Naruto's sudden movement caught everyone off guard. With a swift and surprising motion, he stood up and bowed deeply to the assembled Jounin, including Asuma and Kurenai.
"I apologize for my conduct," Naruto began, his voice firm and professional. "It was unbecoming of a shinobi, and I take full responsibility for my actions."
The other Genin watched in astonishment, their jaws practically hitting the floor at Naruto's unexpected display of maturity and humility. They had never seen him act in such a manner before, and it left them utterly speechless.
Kakashi, ever observant, noted the absence of emotion on Naruto's face, a stark contrast to the passionate outburst just moments before. It reminded him of his days as an ANBU captain, when he had trained a certain Uchiha in his squad.
"I assure you, it will not happen again," Naruto added firmly, his tone resolute. "I understand the importance of maintaining professionalism, and I will strive to uphold the standards expected of a shinobi of Konoha."
His words carried a weight of sincerity that resonated with everyone present. Even Asuma and Kurenai, who had been the targets of Naruto's earlier outburst, couldn't help but acknowledge the genuine commitment in his promise.
Kakashi nodded in approval, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
"My name is Yamato Zaimoku," Yamato began, his voice steady and commanding, getting back on track. "I value running a tight ship through the use of discipline. My dislikes include arrogance and the exploitation of children by ninja for their own gain." As he spoke, Kurenai's slight flinch did not escape Kakashi's notice, prompting a brief exchange of glances between them.
Yamato continued, his expression unwavering. "My goal is to see my team become legends through hard work and dedication to the life of the shinobi."
Naruto beamed at Yamato's words, appreciating the interruption of the conflict with Kurenai. Meanwhile, the other Genin and Jounin each had their own thoughts swirling in their minds, contemplating the significance of Yamato's declaration.
"So, pinky, you're up, again." Kakashi said.
Despite her initial annoyance at being called "pinky," Sakura's demeanor softened as she shot a shy glance towards Sasuke, her cheeks flushing with a rosy hue.
Clearing her throat, Sakura began, her voice slightly faltering as she struggled to maintain her composure. "My name is Sakura Haruno... I like..." Another sidelong glance towards Sasuke, her blush deepening with each passing moment. "My hobbies..."
A giggle escaped her lips, her embarrassment evident as she struggled to articulate her thoughts. "My dream..." The mere mention of her dream sent her into a fit of giggles, unable to contain her excitement.
Kakashi watched the scene unfold with amusement, inwardly sighing at Sakura's obvious infatuation with Sasuke. "And what do you dislike?" he prompted, hoping to steer the conversation back on track.
"BLONDS!" Sakura suddenly exclaimed, her voice filled with fervor as she glared heatedly at Naruto and his golden locks. Naruto and his sister simply stared back at her with bemused expressions, unsure of how to react to her outburst.
Kakashi couldn't help but chuckle inwardly at the situation. "Alright, your turn, Uchiha," he said, turning his attention to Sasuke, eager to hear his response after Sakura's endearing display of affection.
What! He loves drama!
Sasuke's declaration was curt and to the point, reflecting his stoic demeanor. "My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I have no likes and many dislikes, one of which being those who don't know their place." His gaze lingered on Naruto, who seemed engrossed in something on his strange rectangular device, oblivious to Sasuke's scrutiny. The lack of attention irked Sasuke, but he kept his composure, refusing to show any signs of irritation.
"My dream is more of an ambition," Sasuke continued, his voice tinged with darkness. "The revival of my clan and to kill a certain man."
Sakura couldn't help but be captivated by Sasuke's aura of mystery and determination. 'He's so cool,' she thought, her admiration for him evident in her eyes.
Naruto, on the other hand, barely spared Sasuke's words a second thought. 'Tch. Please,' he thought dismissively, his attention still fixed on his device. Sasuke's ambitions held no significance to him, his focus elsewhere as usual.
"My name is Sai," the pale-skinned boy began with a calm demeanor. "My likes are drawing."
Kakashi nodded, gesturing for him to continue.
"My dislikes, however, include being on a team with dickless and a pink-haired man," Sai stated matter-of-factly, his lips curving into a fake smile.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed, a flicker of irritation crossing his features, while Sakura's face flushed with anger.
Kiba and Chouji couldn't contain their laughter, doubling over with amusement.
"Hey, watch it, Sai!" Kiba managed between chuckles.
"Yeah, that's not cool," Chouji added, trying to stifle his laughter.
Sai remained unfazed by their reactions, continuing with his declaration. "My dream is to see that dickless grows one and help the pink-haired man find a husband."
The group fell into stunned silence, Yugito being the first to burst into laughter, followed by Kiba and Chouji, who had tears streaming down their faces.
Sakura's face turned scarlet, her fists clenched in indignation, while Sasuke's expression darkened with anger.
Kakashi sighed, trying to keep the situation under control. "Um... oooooookay," he said, attempting to redirect the conversation. "Moving along. Your turn, doggie boy," he said, addressing Kiba with a hint of exasperation.
Kiba's declaration was brash and full of confidence. "Fine, my name is Inuzuka Kiba. What I like best in this whole world is my dog Akamaru," he proclaimed proudly, eliciting a bark of agreement from the top of his head. "I also really like being a part of this new pack." His gaze lingered on Hinata, a hint of lust in his eyes that didn't escape the notice of the male Jinchuuriki.
"I hate cats, any food I can't chew, and a certain blond-haired bastard," Kiba continued, his grin turning smug as he glanced in Naruto's direction. "My goal is to be a great ninja, marry a certain girl before she ruins her life with an idiot, and help my clan succeed."
However, Kiba's confidence faltered when he caught sight of Naruto whispering something in Hinata's ear, causing her to blush and giggle softly. His smug grin melted into a snarl of annoyance, his competitive spirit flaring up at the sight of Hinata's reaction to Naruto's words.
Kurenai observed the interaction with a mixture of curiosity and concern. 'Ok, I've got an Inuzuka who may get himself killed if the rumors are true about the Uzumakis,' she thought to herself, her mind racing with thoughts about the potential dangers her new Genin might face.
She also couldn't shake the strange feeling she had about Naruto's behavior towards her new team. It wasn't negative, but rather a sense of longing that tugged at her heartstrings. Pushing aside those thoughts for the time being, Kurenai focused on the task at hand, determined to guide her Genin to success while keeping them safe from harm.
"Ok, goggles, you're up," Kakashi said, directing his attention to Shino.
"I am Shino Aburame," Shino began in his usual calm and composed manner. "I like to study insects and discover new varieties that haven't been catalogued by my family yet." He paused for a moment, his expression unreadable behind his high collar. "I dislike people who kill insects for no reason and those who hate what they don't understand."
As he spoke, Shino's monotone voice carried a sense of conviction that resonated with the group of Jounin. They nodded in understanding, acknowledging his dedication to his craft and his principles.
"My ambition is to learn all of the Aburame bloodline jutsus," Shino continued, his tone unwavering. "And then develop my own techniques using my allies, to be strong enough to stand by my allies."
His words held a quiet determination, reflecting his commitment to both his family's legacy and his own personal growth as a ninja. As Shino concluded his statement, the group fell into a thoughtful silence, recognizing the depth of his aspirations.
"My name is Shikamaru Nara," he began, his voice lazy and uninterested. "I like watching clouds and napping." His words drifted off, accompanied by a heavy sigh. "My dislikes are yelling, troublesome fangirls, and working too hard."
Shikamaru's monotone delivery barely masked the depth of his irritation. "My goal is to become an average Shinobi," he continued, his eyelids drooping with the promise of imminent sleep. "And marry an average woman. Have two kids, a boy and a girl, and retire once my son or daughter becomes a shinobi. Then, I'll play shogi for the rest of my days."
Before he could succumb to the allure of sleep, Ino's fist banged against his stomach, jolting him awake with a pained grunt. "SIT UP AND PAY ATTENTION!" she yelled at him, her frustration evident in her voice.
Shikamaru begrudgingly sat up, rubbing his stomach with a muttered complaint about troublesome blonds and their interference with his sleep.
As Ino finished her introduction, the other Jounin couldn't help but interject with small comments of their own.
"Flower arranging, huh? That's quite the delicate skill," Yamato remarked, nodding approvingly at Ino.
Asuma, ever the laid-back Jounin, added with a chuckle, "Maybe you can teach me a thing or two about flowers, Ino."
Kurenai, with a gentle smile, chimed in, "Blossoming into a strong kunoichi seems fitting for someone with such a love for flowers."
Even Shino, typically reserved, spoke up in his monotone voice, "Your dedication to your clan's pride is admirable, Ino."
These comments served to further encourage Ino, bolstering her confidence as she awaited Kakashi's next directive.
"Cool. Okay, Akimichi, you're up," Kakashi prompted.
Chouji stood up, his demeanor earnest as he began his introduction. "My name is Chouji Akimichi," he started, his voice carrying a hint of warmth. "I like food, hanging out with my buddy Shika, and listening to my dad's old war stories."
He paused for a moment, a fond smile tugging at the corners of his lips before continuing, "I dislike the time it takes to cook my BBQ."
Chouji's gaze shifted to the ground momentarily before he lifted his head with determination. "My only goal in life is to make my father proud and become clan head of the Akimichi."
His words were simple yet filled with sincerity, reflecting his deep-rooted sense of duty and loyalty to his family and clan. With his statement concluded, Chouji awaited Kakashi's acknowledgment, ready to move forward with the group's discussion.
"Okay, how about you problem child," Kakashi said, pointing towards Naruto, his godbrother.
"Name's Naruto Uzumaki," Naruto began, his tone firm and resolute. "I like those who I consider close to me. My dislikes are 85% of the villagers of this village and traitors," he spat the last word with venom, causing Kurenai to flinch at the intensity in his eyes.
"I only want a few things in life," Naruto continued, his voice lowering with a dangerous edge. "The first is to make my parents and ancestors proud, and to not kill but utterly destroy a certain Uchiha who not only ruined my life but also murdered my parents."
His words sent shockwaves through the group, their eyes widening in disbelief. Sasuke, in particular, turned on him with a heated glare.
"You're not going to kill him, that right belongs to me," Sasuke asserted, his voice laced with determination.
Naruto met Sasuke's gaze head-on, his eyes cold and devoid of emotion. Something had changed within him, leaving Sasuke to wonder what had caused this transformation.
"This Uchiha is by far stronger than that of Itachi," Naruto declared, his killing intent palpable. "I've met Itachi, and we have no beef with each other, so he will be the only Uchiha I will spare my wrath."
As Naruto's gaze intensified, Sasuke paled and began to sweat profusely, visibly shaken by Naruto's aura alone.
"However, I will only say this once," Naruto continued, his eyes flickering from blue to red as he spoke. "You are only a comrade, and I will not attack you at all. But if you get in my way or provoke me, last Uchiha or not, I will send you to hell with the rest of your clan."
Naruto's words were laced with venom, causing everyone except Yugito to flinch. Anko, in particular, felt a strange sensation coursing through her, her mind filled with lustful thoughts.
'I think my panties got wet,' she thought to herself, a smirk playing on her lips as she felt the intensity of Naruto's killing intent.
Feeling a sudden rush of heat and arousal, Anko's smirk widened as she discreetly checked herself. Sure enough, her suspicions were confirmed-her panties were indeed wet.
"Hmm, well, that's unexpected," she muttered to herself, a mischievous glint in her eyes as she took a moment to compose herself. Despite the unexpected turn of events, Anko couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement at Naruto's display of power and dominance.
Gathering her thoughts, Anko refocused her attention on the group, her mind buzzing with newfound intrigue and desire.
Sakura seethed with anger as she observed Naruto's treatment of Sasuke. She was about to intervene, but the intensity of Naruto's glare silenced her. Something was clearly amiss with him, but the exact issue remained a mystery.
Suddenly, an elderly voice broke the tense atmosphere, surprising everyone. All heads turned to see the Hokage standing there.
"Hokage-sama," the Jounin chorused, bowing respectfully. Asuma hesitated before complying, spurred by a sharp glance from Kurenai.
"At ease," the Hokage reassured them. "I came to inform you that the Genin test has been rescheduled to take place today."
"Genin test?" inquired Sasuke.
"Yes, today was supposed to be the assessment to determine if you have the qualities to become official Genin of the Leaf," explained Hiruzen. "However, the other teams have failed their tests, leaving only four squads. The council, in its wisdom, has decided to consolidate the test for these remaining squads."
"What does the test entail, Hokage-sama?" Shino surprised everyone with his question, considering the rarity of Aburame clan members speaking up.
"The test is straightforward," replied the Hokage. "It will be a nine-against-two last-man-standing match, with Teams 7, 8, and 10 facing off against Team 11." His announcement was met with a range of reactions from the assembled group.
'A perfect opportunity to take MY power from him. Only a Uchiha deserves power,' Sasuke thought with a smirk.
'I'll show that bitch who's useless,' Sakura thought with a smirk of her own.
'Danzo-sama said not to fully show my potential... though I never follow orders from him anyways,' Sai thought, smiling a fox-like grin.
'Troublesome,' thought Shikamaru.
'Just how strong are you really, Naruto-fun... why did I just think that?' thought Ino.
'Awwwww, I wanted to get something to eat,' Chouji thought.
'Yes, now I can kick that loser's ass, and Hinata and Yugito will all be mine,' Kiba thought with a toothy grin.
Shino remained silent, his mind focused solely on preparations for the upcoming fight. He understood that facing the two blond opponents would require him to go all out, perhaps even resorting to unconventional tactics. Their skill sets were unfamiliar to him, presenting a unique challenge that demanded he think outside the box.
'I have to fight Naruto-kun... I will prove to you just how strong I've become,' thought Hinata with a determined look.
Kakashi pondered the sudden change in plans, feeling a twinge of suspicion gnawing at him. It seemed too abrupt to be a mere coincidence. Immediately, his mind veered towards the possibility of foul play, likely orchestrated by the council. Perhaps they intended to gauge the Uzumaki's skill level or even to humble them in some way. Regardless, Kakashi's instincts warned him of hidden motives behind the sudden shift, and he remained vigilant, ready to uncover any potential schemes.
'Nine on two? Don't you think that's a bit overkill? Even if he is a jinchuriki?' thought Anko.
'If I'm lucky, maybe they'll get killed,' thought Asuma with hate in his eyes. If anybody looked at him, you would've thought he didn't like the match... no, far from it.
"Naruto," thought Kurenai.
"Time to shine, Naruto," thought Yamato with a smirk.
'Your first real hurdle, lad. Let's hope we can get through this unscathed,' thought Sarutobi.
"So how do we do this?" asked Naruto telepathically.
"Destroy and humiliate, you know that's my style. We can't kill them, so I prefer to just beat a few of them senseless," replied Yugito.
"Just don't overstep your boundaries. You tend to lose yourself in battle."
"Yes, O all-mighty," she retorted sarcastically, then stuck her tongue out at her little brother. "You're no fun."
"But if someone else attacks trying to help them... Kill them," he said plainly, gaining chuckles from Kurama, and with that, he got up from his seat.
As Naruto prepared to leave, he exchanged a knowing glance with Yugito. In a sudden burst of energy, they leaped off the roof, defying gravity and soaring towards Training Ground 7 with incredible speed, leaving everyone below in shock.
"They can fly?!" Ino exclaimed, her voice filled with astonishment, her eyes wide with disbelief.
The sight of Naruto and Yugito effortlessly gliding through the air only served to fuel Sasuke's jealousy, his expression darkening further.
Meanwhile, Hinata watched in awe as Naruto displayed this extraordinary ability. "Naruto is going to teach me how to do that," she declared, her voice filled with resolve.
Anko caught Hinata's remark and smirked knowingly. "He'll teach me too," she stated, her gaze fixated on Hinata with a hint of challenge. It was clear that Anko saw this as an opportunity to assert herself in Naruto's world, and her stare-down with Hinata was more than just a battle of skill-it was a clash for territory.
As Anko issued her challenge with a smirk, Hinata felt a surge of determination. Without hesitation, she activated her Byakugan, the veins around her eyes bulging with power. The sudden manifestation of her formidable doujutsu startled everyone present, including Anko herself.
Anko's smirk widened at Hinata's display of guts, but she didn't back down either, meeting Hinata's gaze with unyielding resolve.
Kurenai watched the confrontation unfold, her feelings conflicted. She couldn't help but feel a sense of pride at Hinata's courage, but also a pang of concern for the potential consequences of such boldness.
Meanwhile, Yamato and Kakashi observed the scene with keen interest, both thoroughly enjoying the dramatic tension unfolding before them.
The Hokage, sensing the escalating tension, swiftly intervened, his authoritative voice cutting through the charged atmosphere.
"That's enough," he declared firmly, his tone brooking no argument. "All of you, head to Training Ground 7 immediately."
His command brought an end to the standoff, as the attendees reluctantly obeyed, dispersing from the scene and making their way to the designated location.
The Hokage watched them go, his expression unreadable, before turning and following in their footsteps, his mind undoubtedly preoccupied with the impending test and the dynamics at play among his young charges.
(Training Ground 7)
As Naruto and the others arrived at Training Ground 7, it became evident that the match was turning into a significant spectacle. Naruto couldn't help but notice the presence of practically every head of a clan or village leader, seated or standing along the sidelines. The Hokage, the Elders, Iruka, all Jounin, and Elite Jounin were among them, their expressions ranging from smirks to eyes filled with anticipation.
Some of the smirks seemed to stem from the expectation of witnessing the "Kyuubi brat" being bested or even killed by Sasuke, while others were filled with anticipation, eagerly awaiting whatever might unfold in the coming confrontation.
"Hokage-sama, do you believe this is wise?" questioned Yugao in her Anbu gear, her presence required at the event, though her concern was evident in her tone.
"What's the matter, Uzuki? You think your surrogate brother is going to get himself hurt by our rookies?" Asuma taunted, but before he could continue, Yugao interrupted sharply.
"Address me properly, Sarutobi," Yugao reprimanded, her tone commanding attention regardless of their surroundings. "Regardless of your family ties, I expect respect, even from the son of the Hokage."
Asuma, taken aback by the public correction, flushed with embarrassment, realizing his mistake in addressing Yugao informally. Chuckles rippled through the assembled ninja, amused by the unexpected turn of events that put Asuma in his place.
As Asuma recoiled from Yugao's reprimand, Naruto couldn't help but feel like twisting the knife.
"That's my big sis!" he yelled towards Yugao, his voice filled with unabashed pride.
Yugao, already irritated by the situation, turned her attention to Naruto, her expression darkening behind her mask. "And I still haven't forgotten about the beating I owe you," she threatened, her tone laced with menace.
Naruto's bravado instantly evaporated, replaced by nervousness as he realized the gravity of Yugao's words. However, before the tension could escalate further, Yugito intervened, bursting into laughter at the exchange.
Her laughter was contagious, and soon Naruto found himself chuckling nervously alongside her, the tension dissipating as quickly as it had arisen.
Yugao's anger simmered as she continued to stare at Naruto, her gaze piercing and unyielding. The atmosphere grew tense as the weight of her displeasure hung heavy in the air, causing Naruto to shift uncomfortably under her intense scrutiny. Yugao finally turned away from Naruto, redirecting her attention towards the Hokage. With her gaze no longer fixed on him, Naruto breathed a sigh of relief, feeling the tension ease from his shoulders.
Under his breath, he muttered, "I still hate when she does that," a mix of annoyance and gratitude evident in his voice.
"Asuma," the Hokage's voice cut in, his tone firm as he addressed Asuma. "Remember to address ANBU operatives by their codenames, not their given names."
Asuma's embarrassment deepened under the weight of the Hokage's reprimand, realizing his double lapse in protocol.
Turning his attention to Yugao, the Hokage continued, "Cat, please continue with your thoughts on the upcoming test."
Yugao cleared her throat, addressing the assembled ninja. "I've had the opportunity to test Naruto's abilities recently, purely out of curiosity," she began, her tone measured but firm. "And I must say, what we're about to witness is hardly a fair match."
Her words elicited laughter and snide remarks from most of those present, who assumed she meant Naruto was about to be outmatched. However, a select few ninja understood her cryptic statement and remained silent, their curiosity piqued.
As the anticipation mounted, it became clear that Yugao's declaration held a deeper meaning, one that only a handful of observers truly comprehended.
On the field, Naruto carefully observed his opponents, analyzing their expressions and gauging their readiness.
Sasuke, Sakura, and Kiba wore arrogant smirks, their confidence evident in their demeanor. In contrast, Ino, Chouji, and Hinata bore determined looks in their eyes, showing their resolve to give their all in the upcoming battle. Sai maintained his typical impassive expression, while Shikamaru seemed uninterested, his bored expression unchanged.
Yugao strode into the center of the group, assuming her role as referee. "The rules are simple: last one standing is the winner. No lethal force if possible. Any objections?" she asked, her voice commanding attention.
Naruto raised his hand, signaling his objection. "If they aim to defeat us, they must come at us with the intent to kill," he stated with gravity, his voice carrying a weight of seriousness. "Otherwise, they'll face the consequences."
Yugao turned her head towards him, and even behind her mask, Naruto could sense her glare. He wisely chose to stay silent, understanding the implicit warning in her gaze.
With a raised hand, Yugao signaled the start of the match, and within moments, the battle began.
"Look, just give up. You and I both know you two can't beat us since Sasuke-kun and I are obviously stronger than you. Besides, this is a perfect way to beat your ass for trying to steal away my Sasuke-kun," Sakura declared with arrogant confidence.
'First victim,' Yugito thought, her expression betraying nothing but boredom.
"Well then, if you're so strong, show me what you've got, flat chest. Like I want that pencil dick of an Uchiha," Yugito retorted sharply, her words hitting their mark. Sakura reacted swiftly, launching herself forward and delivering a punch straight to Yugito's face.
Sakura's punches met only air, each strike failing to elicit any reaction from Yugito.
Undeterred, Sakura intensified her assault, imbuing her punches with chakra, but still, Yugito remained unfazed. Exhausted, Sakura stepped back, panting heavily, while Yugito merely scratched her face in boredom.
"Your punches barely tickle. Like a tiny feather," Yugito remarked indifferently, her gaze unwavering.
"Bitch!" Sakura spat in frustration. "Naruto, aren't you going to defend my honor?" she pleaded, a hint of desperation in her voice, secretly banking on Naruto's affection for her to intervene.
"Why should I?" Naruto replied calmly, his tone betraying no hint of emotion.
"Because you love me, and if you do it, I'll go on a date with you," Sakura countered with a coy smile, hoping to manipulate Naruto into action, all while ignoring the palpable tension radiating from Hinata.
"And now... let me show you how much I still love you, Sakura-chan," Naruto whispered in her ear, his voice low and chilling. As he held up his right hand, it began to glow with a yellow light, crackling with the energy of lightning forming.
The sound of crackling electricity filled Sakura's ears, drowning out any other noise, just before her world turned upside down. With a sudden movement, Naruto took a step back and thrust his hand into Sakura's chest, eliciting an ear-splitting scream from the girl as her body convulsed from the shock of his attack.
The other genin looked on in horror, their faces pale and shocked by the sudden turn of events. Kiba, unable to contain his confusion, voiced the question that lingered in everyone's mind. "I thought you loved her?"
Turning his gaze from the smoking form of Sakura, Naruto sneered at Kiba. "I never loved her a day in my life. I lived eight years to do that to her, though I wish I could've killed her and saved Kakashi-san a headache. But orders are orders, as most of you will soon realize," he finished coldly.
With a swift movement, Yugito appeared beside Kiba in an instant, delivering a roundhouse kick to his head. The shock on the genin's faces was palpable as they processed the events unfolding before them, Shikamaru's voice cut through the tense silence. "Troublesome," he muttered, his expression grim as he assessed the situation unfolding before them.
