(AN) Hello and welcome to the next chapter of Road to Recovery; hope you all enjoy.

In this chapter, Lois, Meg and Stewie are caught up in a home invasion/burglary while Peter, Chris and Brian are out. So fair warning: this chapter is darker than the first one.

Chapter Two

It started out as a regular morning in the Griffin household. The family were sitting at the able eating breakfast. Peter, Chris and Brian were going to a stag party later in the evening, meaning that Lois, Meg and Stewie would be left at home.

"Brian, please keep an eye on Peter and Chris tonight," said Lois, "I don't want a repeat of all the other times they've been at stag parties."

"Come on, Lois, we can be responsible," assured Peter, "You worry too much."

"Well, given that something always happens after you've had a few drinks, I have every right to." retorted the redhead.

"Relax, Lois, I'll keep a close eye on them," assured the talking dog before deciding to raise a concern he had, "Are you sure you, Meg and Stewie will be alright on your own? I've heard there's been a few burglaries around the area in the past few weeks."

"I'm sure we'll be fine," assured Lois, "Besides, if anybody does try to break in, I'll call 9-1-1."

Brian nodded in understanding. "So, what are you going to get up to?" he asked curiously.

"Just relax and watch some TV," explained Lois, "I think it'll be good just to have a nice, mother-daughter night in."

"Maybe." put in Meg, who wasn't entirely keen on the idea.

While Lois was sure that nothing bad would happen, Brian had every right to be concerned. Unbeknownst to the family, they were being watched. Hiding in the bushes in the back yard were four men wearing dark clothing, black gloves and balaclavas. The tallest of them was watching the Griffins through a pair of binoculars.

"So, what's our next move, Greg?" whispered the average heighted man to the one with the binoculars.

"We wait for the husband, the eldest son and the dog to leave, then we wait until the wife and daughter feel relaxed before striking. Understand, Harry?" answered Greg to the man.

"Yeah, boss." replied Harry.

"Good," said Greg before peering at Lois and Meg, "Look at how hot the mom and daughter are; wouldn't mind a piece of them."

"Here, let me have a look," said one of the short robbers as he pinched the binoculars off of Greg, "Ohhhhh, I get what you mean. How does a fatass like that marry a hot redhead like that; it's just not fair."

"I don't know, Marv," replied the other short man, "that daughter's good lookin' as well. Hey, Greg, how's about you and I have the daughter and the others can have the mom."

"Oh, I think we can do better than that, Doug!" sneered Greg, "How about we all have fun with both of them: everybody wins; especially if there's nothing too valuable to steal!"

The four men chuckled darkly to themselves. All of them enjoyed stealing, but they found it even more rewarding if they got to do more than a burglary.

Later that evening, Peter, Chris and Brian headed off to the stag party.

"Enjoy yourselves." said Lois as she stood at the front door, waving.

The redhead then closed the door and turned to face Meg and Stewie. "Right, now we can start to relax." she declared.

"If you say so." replied Meg, who still wasn't entirely sure about the idea.

Meg helped her mom get Stewie ready for bed. After placing the talking baby in his crib and reading him a bedtime story, Lois gave her son a light kiss on the top of his head. "Goodnight, sweetie, Mommy loves you." she cooed before switching off the bedroom light and exiting the room.

The two Griffin girls then relaxed as they sat on the couch and watched some TV.

"You know, this is actually quite nice." remarked Meg.

"See, I told you we could have fun," pointed out Lois, smiling, "Your father and brother aren't here causing mischief and Brian isn't trying to hump the kitchen table leg."

Just outside the house, the four robbers were currently watching the mother and daughter through a gap in the living room window curtains; all with eager expressions on their faces. Harry was now holding a plastic carrier bag.

"Is it time?" whispered Doug.

"Yep!" hissed Greg in response.

The four masked men ran over to the side of the house, jumped the fence into the back yard and raced up to the french windows. Greg pulled out a baseball bat and swung them at the French windows.

Inside the living room, Lois and Meg jumped up at a loud crashing sound coming from the conservatory.

"Oh my god, what was that noise?" asked Lois in a panicky whisper.

"No idea." whispered Meg nervously.

Lois sprang to her feet and made a move towards the phone when suddenly, Greg, Harry, Marv and Doug stormed into the living room, causing both mother and daughter to yelp in alarm. Doug was now holding the baseball bat. Lois grabbed the phone, but Greg ran over and snatched it from her, he then grabbed the middle-aged woman by the shirt collar and slammed her into the nearby wall, the man then pulled the redhead's earrings out, causing her to yelp in alarm.

Meg meanwhile, had leapt from the couch and made a run for the stairs, but Harry grabbed her by the feet and dragged the terrified teen back downstairs, he then wrapped his arms around the struggling brunette's chest. Marv and Doug began ransacking the house.

"What do you want from us?" asked Lois nervously.

"What we want is all your valuables!" demanded Greg in a threatening manner, "The money, the jewels, the safe; everything!"

"We don't have any valuables or a safe!" replied Lois in a voice quivering with fear, "There's no safe either! All I have is some jewellery; you can take that!"

"Don't lie to me, bitch!" snapped Greg angrily, slapping the redhead across the face, "Give us the money, or we'll hurt you and your kids!"

"Please, don't hurt my mom!" begged a terrified Meg.

"Shut it!" snarled Harry.

"Please, don't hurt my babies!" pleaded a terrified Lois, "You can take whatever you want, just leave them be!"

Greg growled furiously before violently tossing Lois to the floor, he then dragged the middle-aged woman by the feet over to the wall lining the stairs and propped her up against the stereo. Harry brought Meg over and forced her to sit next to her mom.

"WHERE'S THE MONEY! THE SAFE! THE JEWALS!" shouted Greg, slapping Lois with each word.

"Please, we don't have any of that stuff" cried a terrified Lois.

"She's telling you the truth!" insisted an equally terrified Meg.

"Shut it, bitch!" snapped Harry before slapping Meg across the face.

"Go get the baby!" barked Greg to Marv, "We'll get the woman to talk!"

Marv nodded in understanding before racing up the stairs.

Lois could only listen helplessly as she heard Marv charging into Stewie's room and grabbing him from his crib. Marv came back down the stairs; holding Stwie by the scruff of the neck, he then came over and sat Stewie next to Lois. Greg then came over and knelt in front of the trembling redhead. "Now listen closely, lady; give us the money, or we'll hurt your kids and make you watch!" warned Greg in a threatening manner.

"No, please don't hurt them!" pleaded the redhead in a terrified whisper, "Do whatever you want with me, but leave them out of this!"

"Don't lie to me, lady!" sneered Greg as he drew a gun and pressed it to Lois's forehead, causing her eyes to widen in fear, then with his other hand, he began to gently caress the woman's cheek, "You're a very pretty lady, so it'd be a shame if I had to hurt you!"

"O-okay, there's some money in my purse!" said a frightened Lois, "I-I can take you to it, just don't kill me or my kids!"

Greg put the gun away before pulling the redhead up with him, he then went behind her and planted his gun into the small of Lois's back, forcing the middle-aged woman to move towards the study. Harry followed them.

Marv and Doug stood in front of a terrified Meg and Stewie. Meg was silently praying that the police were on their way.

"Please, I'll give you anything, just leave my mom and brother alone!" pleaded the teen.

"Quiet, girly!" spat Marv before giving the young girl a sharp kick, making her cry out in pain.

Marv then knelt down in front of Meg and began stroking her hair, causing the teen to shudder. "You and your mom are both very pretty!" he hissed into her ear, "Don't make me hurt you anymore than I have to!"

Normally, Meg would have appreciated a boy complimenting her looks, but on this occasion, she was terrified about what these men might end up doing with her and her mom.

Meanwhile, Lois was frogmarched into the study, where Greg withdrew his gun before pinning the middle-aged woman to a nearby wall and standing in front of her. Lois watched on as Harry began raiding her handbag.

"Where's the rest of the stuff, lady!" demanded Greg.

"That's all there is, I swear to God!" cried a terrified Lois as Greg got right in her face.

"YOU'RE LYING!" shouted Greg before drawing a machete and aiming it at Lois's throat, causing her to scream in fear.

"No, no, p-please, don't kill me!" begged a horrified Lois, tears welling up in her eyes, "There's jewellery in my bedroom, but that's it!"

Greg snarled before putting the machete away and dragging Lois out of the study.

Lois found herself being dragged into her and Peter's bedroom before being backed against a wall. Greg once again drew his machete and waved it in Lois's face while gripping her shoulder with his other hand. Harry was currently raiding the drawers, he quickly found Lois's jewellery box and began to raid through it; putting the contents into his bag.

"Is that all you've got!" snarled Greg before throwing the redhead to the floor and giving her a sharp kick to the side.

"Yes, that's everything, I swear!" insisted Lois as the tears streamed down her face.

Greg and Harry surrounded Lois before repeatedly punching and kicking her; ignoring the terrified begging and pleading.

"You'd better not be lying to us, lady!" snapped Harry in an agressive manner.

"I'M NOT! I SWEEEEEAWRRR!" wailed Lois.

"Well in that case, we'll just have to have something else!" said Greg before pointing a firm finger at Harry, "Get the others to come up here with the girl!"

Harry nodded in understanding before exiting the bedroom. Greg pulled Lois to her feet and started trying to kiss the middle-aged woman, but she kept pushing him away.

"Oh God!" cried a horrified Lois as she realised what the intention of these horrible men was.

After a few more moments, Harry came back through with his arm wrapped around Meg's neck; followed by Marv and Doug. Greg and Harry threw the mother and daughter into the corner of the room, where they held each other in fear.

"Mom, I'm scared!" uttered the brunette in a terrified whisper.

"Don't worry, sweetie, it'll be okay." assured Lois, who was trying to put on a brave face for her daughter.

Greg and Harry pulled Lois and Meg apart. The four robbers then took turns feeling Lois and Meg's breasts.

"Stay away!" cried Lois in a voice quivering with fear as Marv felt her breasts.

"Get your paws off of me you asshole!" yelled Meg as Doug did the same.

Once they were all finished, the four men towered over the terrified Griffin women; lustful looks in their eyes.

"Alright boys, now let's give these fine ladies a night they'll never forget!" said Greg gleefully.

"Nnnnnnoooo!" cried a horrified Lois.

"You don't want to do this!" pleaded Meg.

Greg pulled Lois up by the arm, tossed the redhead over his shoulder and threw her on to the bed. Lois quickly attempted to get off of the bed, but Harry and Marv were too quick as they went on either side of the bed and pinned her legs down; ignoring the terrified whimpering and begging.

Meg attempted to run over and help her mom, but Doug shoved her to the floor and held the brunette down.

At the same time, Greg pulled out some zip ties and tied Lois's wrists to the bedposts, he then unzipped his pants before dropping them and his underwear.

"No, no, no, please don't!" cried a terrified Lois as the first robber crawled on top of her.

Harry and Marv released Lois's legs, causing her to try and kick out at Greg, but it was no use. The middle-aged woman sobbed in fear as she felt her pants and underwear sliding off.

Meg watched and listened helplessly as her mom screamed in agony while sobbing and pleading with Greg. After he was done, the other men took their turns; Marv taking over holding Meg down when Doug took his turn.

"NO! NO!" sobbed a horrified Lois; tears streaming down her face as Doug had his way with her, "Oh God, Peter, I'm so sorry!"

Doug soon finished and pulled his underwear and pants back up.

"Right, now it's your turn, girly!" leered Greg as he advanced on Meg.

"No, no, please don't!" begged Meg in a terrified whisper.

Marv released his grip on Meg, allowing her to stand up. Greg and Harry grabbed her by the elbows and dragged the struggling teen through to her bedroom; ignoring both her and Lois's pleading.

"Please, please, leave my baby alone!" begged an exhausted Lois, who felt utterly helpless.

Meg was violently tossed on to her bed. The teen trembled in fear as Greg crawled on top of her.

"Stay away, stay away!" cried a terrified Meg as Greg began pulling her pants down, while she struggled and cried in fear.

Back in Peter and Lois's room, Lois listened helplessly as her daughter screamed in agony and horror while sobbing and pleading with the men. The redhead desperately tried to break free, but it was no use. Tears streamed down the middle-aged woman's face as Meg cried for her.

"Oh, Meg, I'm so sorry!" sobbed the distraught Lois.

Once the men were finished with Meg, she was dragged back into her parent's bedroom; her clothes now torn. Greg walked over to the bed, pulled out a small penknife and cut the bonds, he then grabbed Lois by the arm and held her by the elbows. Harry and Marv held Meg by the elbows.

The Griffin women were frogmarched out of the bedroom; their begging and pleading ignored. Doug followed just behind.

Lois and Meg found themselves being taken down to the basement, the terrified women were then forced to sit against the washing machine. Doug came down with Stewie before sitting the young baby next to his mother.

"Please, don't hurt us!" begged Lois in a frightened manner.

Greg turned to Harry and Marv. "Tie them both up!" he barked, indicating Lois and Meg.

Harry and Marv pulled out some zip-ties, they then went over and tied Lois and Meg's hands behind their backs; ignoring their terrified whimpering and pleading.

"Please, don't tie him up!" begged Lois, who was currently trying to act brave.

Once Harry and Marv were done, they stepped away, allowing Greg to kneel in front of the trembling redhead. "Listen, lady, if you call the cops or tell anybody about what happened, then we'll come back and kill your family in front of you, then we'll kill you!" snarled Greg threateningly, "Understand?"

"Y-yes, I understand!" stammered Lois, "P-please, just leave me and my family alone!"

Greg got to his feet. Lois watched as the robbers exited the basement, she then listened as they ran out the front door and slammed it shut. The redhead and Meg began sobbing silently. After a minute, Lois began trying to wriggle herself free, she then broke free and quickly freed Meg. Lois grabbed Stewie and gently walked up the stairs.

Once in the living room, Lois placed Stewie on the couch, picked up the phone and dialled 9-1-1.

"9-1-1; what's your emergency?" asked a male voice on the other end of the line.

"A group of robbers in balaclavas broke into my house and terrorised me and my children!" replied Lois shakily, "T-they threatened me and my kids and raped me and my daughter!"

"We've got your location, ma'am and will send help now," replied the voice, "Are the intruders still in the house?"

"No, they've left!" replied Lois, "Please hurry!"

After ending the call, Lois sat down on the couch gathered her two children into a hug. All three began sobbing.

Over at the stag party, Peter, Chris and Brian had gotten slightly drunk and were now doing a bad karaoke rendition of Road to Nowhere. The phone suddenly rang and Joe rolled over to answer. "Hello?" he said in a slurred voice.

"It's Dr Hartman: is Peter Griffin there?" came Dr Hartman's voice.

"I'll just get him." replied Joe.

Joe then rolled over to Peter. "Peter, it's Dr Hartman for you." he said.

"Huh?" said a surprised Peter before taking the phone, "What's up, Doc? Hehehehehehehehehehe."

"Griffin, this is no time for jokes!" barked Hartman irritably, "Lois, Meg and Stewie are at the hospital. Some thugs broke into your house and attacked them. Mrs Griffin and your daughter were sexually assaulted."

"What!" cried Peter in shock.

The obese man ended the call and gestured towards Brian and Chris. "We've gotta go!" he cried in alarm, "Some thugs broke into the house and they've assaulted Lois and Meg!"

Chris and Brian exchanged horrified expressions.

Over at the hospital, Lois was sitting up in a hospital bed and wearing a hospital gown. They had examined both her and Meg and found that there were thankfully no broken bones; just some bruising. Both women had had rape-kits, which would hopefully help the police catch the bastards that had done this.

The redhead looked up as the door opened and Peter entered, followed by Chris and Brian.

"Peter, thank God!" cried Lois in relief as Peter rushed over and gave her a hug.

"Are you and Meg okay?" asked a concerned Peter.

"Very shaken, but we're okay," assured Lois quietly, "They've put Stewie in the playroom."

A female detective with long, blonde hair entered the room. "Mrs Griffin, my name is Detective Alicia Barnes with the Special Victims Unit. If it's okay with you, I'd like to ask you about what happened."

"Yes, that's fine." answered Lois.

Peter sat down next to his wife and gently squeezed her hand. The middle-aged woman explained what exactly happened: when she got to the rape, Lois choked back a sob, but managed to finish. The redhead then sobbed into Peter's shoulder, while the middle-aged man made hushing noises and rubbed her back.

"You did great, Mrs Griffin," said Alicia, "Rest assured; we'll do everything that we can to try and bring these animals to justice."

"Thank you." mumbled Lois.

Alicia then left.

"Those bastards!" snarled Peter angrily, "I should've been there!"

"Oh, Peter, don't beat yourself up," muttered Lois quietly, "There was nothing anybody could've done. M-my poor baby had to watch those men attack me and Meg."

"Lois, maybe you should talk to somebody too," suggested Brian, "Therapy can help anybody."

"I don't need therapy, Brian," argued Lois, "I'll be fine: Meg is the one that'll need help."

Lois felt that she needed to be strong for everybody else. As she had listened helplessly to her daughter being assaulted, the redhead had started to realise how she had mistreated Meg in the past.

Two days later, Lois and Meg returned from the hospital. With help from Brian, Peter, Chris and Stewie had cleaned up the mess left by the robbers. Lois and Meg would be staying in the house while recovering from their rapes, leaving it to Brian to take Chris and Stewie to school.

Lois decided to distract herself by obsessively cleaning the house, while Meg wrote in her diary. Lois had also decided to find a therapist for Meg; still believing that she would be fine.

"Thanks foe booking me those therapy sessions." said Meg to Lois as she washed the dishes.

"You're welcome, sweetie." replied Lois.

"You know, Mom, maybe we can have these sessions together," suggested the teen, "You're probably just as traumatised as me."

"I'll be okay," insisted Lois, "Moms don't need therapy. It's my job to look after you, and after going through that, you'll need this more than me."

"Okay, if you're sure." said the brunette, who felt that her mom wasn't being entirely honest.

The day after, Lois was cleaning up in the kitchen. After finishing, the redhead walked through to the living room and lay down on the couch, she then fell asleep.

Lois awoke with a start and was bewildered to find that it was night time and that the rest of the family were sitting on the couch with her. "How long have I been asleep?" she wondered to herself.

Suddenly, there was a light knock at the door.

"I'll get it." said Lois before getting to her feet and heading to the door.

Upon opening the front door, Greg, Harry, Marv and Doug suddenly charged in; Greg pushing Lois to the floor. Peter got up and charged at the robbers, but Doug struck him in the side of the head with a baseball bat, sending the obese man to the floor.

"OH MY GOD, PETER!" shouted a horrified Lois.

"You're gonna have to do better than that!" snarled Peter as he got to his feet, "Get the hell away from my wife!"

Peter charged at Greg, but the robber simply shoved the obese man to the floor.

"Shut it, old man!" snapped Greg.

As one, Greg, Harry and Marv surrounded Peter before repeatedly punching and kicking him. Peter wailed in horror and agony.

"Please, it's me you want!" pleaded a horrified Lois, "Don't take your anger out on my husband and kids!"

"This is what comes from snitching, lady!" seethed Doug furiously.

After a few minutes, the men finished and Peter lay on the floor, battered and dead.

"NO! PETER!" sobbed Lois, "Please, spare my family! Do what you want to me, but leave them alone!"

Greg simply ignored Lois as he walked over to the couch, pulled out his gun and shot Chris, Stewie and Brian dead.

"NNNNNNOOOO!" wailed the distraught redhead.

"SHUT IT, BITCH!" thundered Marv.

Doug then let go of Lois before pulling her up and holding the struggling woman by the elbows. Marv held a struggling Meg. Greg and Harry went through to the kitchen and brought in two of the kitchen chairs. Lois and Meg were pushed towards the chairs and forced to sit in them. Greg and Harry pulled out some zip-ties: Greg tied Lois's hands behind the chair before pulling out a second pair and tying them round her ankles; ignoring Lois's whimpering and pleading; at the same time, Harry did the same to Meg.

"What are you going to do to us?" asked a terrified Meg.

"Well, girly, we've saved the most brutal punishment for you and your mom!" chuckled Marv in wicked delight.

Harry exited the house, he then quickly returned with four gasoline canisters, causing Lois and Meg's eyes to widen in horror.

"Oh God, please no!" begged Lois in a horrified whisper.

Harry handed the canisters to the three other men. The four robbers then began splashing gasoline all over the house. Once they were finished, Greg and Harry came over and splashed gasoline over Lois and Meg, causing them to yelp in alarm and beg for their lives.

"Please, please, don't kill us!" pleaded Meg in a frightened whisper.

"Sorry, ladies, it's nothing personal, just business." remarked Greg.

Greg then pulled out a match and a lighter before lighting the match.

"PPPPLEEEAAASSSEEE! I'll retract my statement; anything!" pleaded Lois.

"Too late, lady!" snapped Greg before throwing the lit match to the floor.

The four robbers quickly fled the house as the fire began to spread.

"HELP!" shouted a horrified Lois, "SOMEBODY!"

Lois and Meg began screaming in fear, but quickly began coughing and spluttering as the flames quickly reached the Griffin women.

"NO! PLEASE NO!" shouted Lois.

Lois cried out in fear as she bolted up. After getting her breathing under control, the redhead looked around and saw that she was safe: the house wasn't on fire; there were no dead bodies.

"Mom, are you okay?" asked Meg in concern as she appeared at the top of the stairs.

"I'm fine, Meg," assured the middle-aged woman, "Just a bad dream."

"Do you want to talk about it?" asked Meg gently.

"N-no, not really." muttered Lois, who didn't feel that she could talk about her nightmares with anybody. Besides, it was her job to protect the kids, not the other way round."

"Okay, if you're sure." said Meg.

Later that night, Meg went to bed, still worried about her mom. She wasn't exactly looking forward to reliving the home invasion, but she had hoped that her mom would be willing to open up as well.

Meg then fell asleep, hoping that she wouldn't suffer from a nightmare.

Meg was sitting on the couch with her family, watching TV when suddenly, the power went out.

"Oh my god!" cried Lois in alarm, "the whole street must be out of power."

"Oh boy, does this mean I get to do the prequels?" asked Peter hopefully.

"No." chorused everyone in unison.

Chris turned to the window and noticed a shadowy figure standing at the window. Chris got to his feet and walked over to the window. "Hey, what are you-

Before the blond could finish, there was a loud bang and the sound of breaking glass. Chris stumbled backwards before falling to the floor, dead; a bullet wound glistening on his forehead.

"Oh my god, Chris!" yelled Lois in horror, while the rest of the family cried in fear.

The Griffins watched on in fear as the figure smashed the rest of the window with a baseball bat before climbing through: it was Doug. The family turned and saw Greg entering from the kitchen, followed by Harry and Marv: the trio wielded a shotgun; a machete and a baseball bat respectively. At the sight of this, Lois placed herself in front of Stewie. The four robbers approached the couch, causing Brian to start barking and growling.

"Shut that dog up!" snapped Greg.

Doug pulled out a handgun and fired it at Brian, killing him instantly.

"You bastards!" cried a horrified Peter before trying to reach for the phone, only for Harry to cut the back of his hand with his machete.

Peter began sobbing in fear, he then whimpered as Greg pressed his gun to the obese man's forehead.

"Please, don't kill my husband!" begged Lois in a terrified manner, "You've already killed my son and our dog; spare the rest of us!"

Greg simply ignored Lois as he pulled the trigger. Peter slumped back in the couch, dead.

"DAD!"shouted a horrified Meg, while Lois screamed in despair.

"OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!" shouted the redhead, tears welling up in her eyes, "Please, please, don't kill the rest of us; I'll do anything!"

"Then you shouldn't have snitched on us, lady!" snarled Harry before putting his machete away and grabbing a chunk of Lois's hair, "This is what happens to people that snitch on us!"

The middle-aged woman cried out in fear as she was dragged away from the couch before being spun around and forced on to her knees. Meg attempted to move towards Stewie, but Doug grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and slammed the teen on to the floor; smashing her glasses. The brunette shuddered as she felt the cold barrel of a gun being pressed into the back of her head.

Harry walked behind Lois and scalped her, causing the redhead to scream in agony. "OH MY GOD, IT HURTS! PLEASE STOP!"

"Please, leave my mom alone!" begged Meg, tears streaming down her face.

Harry silently moved over to the couch and raised the knife above Stewie's head.

"No, no, no, please, don't kill my baby!" begged Lois as tears streamed down her cheeks.

Meg listened helplessly as she heard the sound of Stewie screaming in agony and Lois crying in horror. After a few seconds, it stopped.

"NNNNNNOOOO!" shouted the redhead, "PLEASE DON'T KILL MY DAUGHTER! Do whatever you want to me, but spare her!"

"Shut the hell up!" growled Greg before delivering a sharp kick to the redhead's stomach, "Good thing I'm gonna shut you up first!"

And with that, Greg drew his gun, aimed it at Lois's forehead and fired. Marv let go, allowing the middle-aged woman's lifeless body to crumple to the floor.

"NO! MOM!" shouted a devastated Meg.

The teen felt the gun being withdrawn. Harry and Marv pulled the brunette to her feet and held the struggling teen by the elbows. Greg advanced on Meg with a machete now in hand.

"no, please don't kill me!" cried the teen in a pleading manner.

Greg ignored Meg's pleas as he raised his machete and brought it down towards Meg's chest.

Meg yelped in alarm as she bolted up; breathing rapidly. Upon taking some calming breaths, the teen saw that she was safe in her bed; it had just been a horrible nightmare.

Meg's bedroom door gently opened and Lois poked her head in. "Meg sweetie, are you okay?" she asked gently.

"Bad dream." whimpered Meg as a few tears slid down her cheeks.

Lois came in, sat next to her precious daughter and wrapped a comforting arm around her shoulder. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"Do you want to talk about yours?" retorted the teen.

"That's different," argued Lois nervously, "Your my daughter: it's my job to protect you."

Meg was slightly taken aback by that: her mom had started to become more caring towards her again; not that she never cared, but there had been a long period where she'd been neglectful towards her.

"I'll talk about mine if you talk about yours." said Meg.

"Those men came back, killed Peter, Brian, Chris and Stewie, and then they set fire to the house and us." informed Lois shakily.

"Oh my god," uttered a shocked Meg, "In my one, those men came back and murdered us all; like something out of a horror film."

"Well, thankfully they were just nightmares," assured the redhead, "You know, it actually feels good opening up. Tell you what, I'll come in for your therapy session and we can both be open and honest."

"Thanks Mom." thanked Meg.

"Anytime, sweetheart." said Lois.

Mother and daughter then hugged.

The next day, Lois and Meg went to their therapy session where they were soon called into the office. Dr Rebecca Jones was a middle-aged woman with blonde hair. "It's very nice to meet you both." she said politely.

"Thank you." said Lois as she and Meg sat opposite the woman.

"So, would you like to talk about what happened?" asked Rebecca gently.

"I-I'm not sure." muttered Lois quietly as she gripped the armrests of the chair.

"Come on, Mom, I know you can do it," assured Meg, gently patting her mom on the shoulder.

"Meg is right, Lois," agreed the blonde, "I promise that nothing either of you say will leave this room."

Lois relaxed in the chair, suddenly feeling much more calm. The middle-aged woman and her daughter then went into detail about what happened. By the end, both mother and daughter were trembling as tears ran down their faces. Rebecca handed them two boxes of tissues, which they took and used to dry their eyes and blow their noses.

"Thank you," muttered a distraught Lois before taking a deep, calming breath, "I-I've just felt so b-bad for not being able to protect Meg or Stewie … God, I heard those men raping my daughter and I felt helpless because I couldn't do a thing to stop it."

"You did your best, Mom." insisted an equally distraught Meg.

"Meg is right" assured Rebecca in a comforting manner, "Lois, being brave doesn't mean standing up to bad people: it's about being honest about your feelings and being there for each other. Believe me, you did everything you could have possibly done to protect Meg and Stewie."

Lois simply nodded in understanding.

"I think this incident has also made me realise that I need to treat my daughter better," said Lois before turning to look at Meg, "I could've lost you and Stewie. Being tied to the bed and just listening made me realise how neglectful and cruel I've been over the years, but no more: I promise that I'm going to try and be a better mother."

Meg was completely lost for words, so she simply hugged Lois, who returned the hug.

The Griffin women left the therapy session feeling much better. Though they had a long way to go before fully recovering, Lois and Meg knew that they would get through it by being their for each other and being open with the rest of the family.

(AN) Phew; that is a wrap on the longest chapter I have ever written for a story; hope you all enjoyed.

So as you can see, I'm sort of planting the seeds for this being a sort of redemption story for the Griffins when it comes to their treatment of Meg. I think it's a rather unique idea that I don't think has ever been done in a Meg focused fic before: have Meg go through something horrible that makes the Griffins slowly realise that they should treat her better.

This will be explored much more in the next chapter. Also, we'll learn if the four robbers were caught.

If you're a Lee Hardcastle fan, or are at least familiar with his work, you might notice that Meg's nightmare is a homage to The Simpsons: You're Next

Until then, this is TimeLordMaster108 signing out.
