I Own Nothing.

A/N to follow:

Hello. Its been a while.

I'm sorry to disappoint everyone, but this isn't a Chapter update. IF I even still have fans of this story. I wanted to apologize for stopping this story so long ago. It truly was a passion of mine, and I was genuinely excited for the story I had drawn up in my head.

Even now, years after I put the pen to paper for the first time, I still think about this story every couple of days and have always wanted to continue it. But between slight writer's block and honestly a few reviews that really stuck with me, I kind of lost the motivation to write it. I had Ideas and so many things I wanted to do, but I could never sit down and put them on paper (so to speak).

The truth is that some people were really confused by my story. They didn't understand the jumping times back and forth. They didn't understand why my Issei in the story was so different. And my dialogue and interactions were honestly overdone and tropey to say the least.

I'm not really a good writer. It's always been a passion, but I always fall short of my own expectation and ideas. I'm still not sure what I write well or what I write bad outside Dialogue and interactions because even to me my dialogue tends to run a little long. The point for me was that I wanted the characters to conversate like normal people and have some levity in the story by their interactions and their dialogue with one another because despite what it may seem, this story at its core is pretty grimdark with a lot of dark themes at times. A lot of that I wasn't able to express properly though.

The problem I think a lot of people had, was that I started the story at the beginning of the canon timeline because I wanted to give people a familiar entry point that is same time frame with familiar characters, but just different reality. I had a direction I wanted to go with the story. The problem was that I have about 5-10 Chapters of straight backstory to Issei's life prior to cannon point. Like literally I just did my revisions to just a synopsis of his back story and its over 15,000 words. That's no dialogue, no scene setting, and the bare minimum of interaction explanations. That's just pure storyline setup. It goes into beginning of his life until the start of canon, his interaction with people of various factions before Canon, how he ended up in the position he's in. Why his Gear is sealed, why he requires that medicine to live. Why he can't use his powers to their fullest. I wanted to foreshadow the future with the bit about how even Serafall couldn't revive him with 2 knight pieces and the why without telling people the whole story.

My idea was to start at Canon and slowly introduce his past as it became relevant to the story. To keep the mystery of the character and his backstory. But the more I tried that, the more it seemed like people were getting frustrated with the direction and confusion they were having with why things were happening the way they were. Not to mention I had already rewritten the story once by that point.

But I want to do better. I owe I to myself to see this through and I owe it to you guys who actually enjoyed it. I want to try again with this story. I'm going to make a new story with the same title and I'm probably going to delete this story. My question to you all, and the main reason why I'm making this long ass Author's Note instead of Just posting a new story is this:

Would y'all be more interested in hearing the story from the beginning, having everything laid out chapter by chapter from Issei's backstory before the start of Canon? Or would you rather I keep his backstory a mystery and just write in parts of his backstory through Flashbacks, Dreams/Nightmares, memories, and as exposition as needed?

Keep in mind that if the first ends up more popular the beginning will not be what you expect. And it will probably take me months of writing to fully make it just to make it to the start of Canon. He will spend a long time as a child in the beginning as so much happens to him. This is the main reason I didn't go this route as I personally am not a big fan of some of the Fanfics on here that keep him as a child for a long time as personally, they feel like they drag on for way too long despite how well written some of them are.

Plus let's be honest. We all know reasons Two, three, and four as to why we like this series. First is of course the world is fucking fascinating. Second and third being... ahem… "Plot and PLOT", and fourth being the Harem of girls he should've done more with. And it just can't happen while he's a kiddo. And to some of you feral Shota and Loli fans out there… No. Bad. Down. Sit. Not here. Aint Happening. Sorry not sorry.

Conversely, if the second choice is more popular, I'm going to go that route and no offense but I'm going to ignore a lot of the criticism pretty much when it comes to people being confused with why certain things are happening and how things are the way they are. Give me time to flesh it out naturally in the story. I promise I will. I won't let it get to me like a did before. This isn't meant to be any form of disrespect, but its more for my own sanity. If you don't understand something specifically, please just ask a specific question. I don't mind responding to reviews or questions directly in A/Ns at the beginning of the next chapter or through PMs. But pretty much anything that just criticizes it as being incoherent (within reason, I'm human but my brain and train of thought is more like 3 ferrets chasing each other through a Burger King Pipe Playground so I might make something unclear to others that make perfect sense to me) or confusing without stating why I'm going to try and overlook. If my dialogue and interactions continue to seem pointless or drawn out, I'm sorry. I'll try to improve them as I go but the only thing I can do is hear y'all out on that and try to improve from there.

So as of this moment I'm revamping my story board for the Story. I'm currently mapping out Arcs and pacing for important events from before Canon and along the Canon Timeline. I'm also going to redo that first Chapter that even I admit is a bit mishandled. But otherwise, the story will remain largely the same.

I have a bit more free time to work on this story, and as long as I'm able to stay motivated (yes this is shameless begging for reader interaction… sue me) I want to try to get a regular schedule for updates. I'm shooting on leaving this up for about a week, to hear people out on their opinions if anyone cares to give it and in the meantime I'm going to work on the first chapter which I will tailor to be able to continue from either the very beginning or the start of Canon depending on what is chosen by you, the readers.

Any Questions Comments Concerns? Feel free to put it in your review or PM me. I'm going to shoot for the first new chapter on Next Friday which is Ironically Friday the 13th of September.

And I'm gonna apologize in advance for any new readers who see the story refresh and start reading it only to be disappointed by this… I'm so sorry!

Now to get into some future, but important stuff.

No. Gabriel will not be in the Harem. Nor will Asia. Nor will Yasaka. Anyone else within reason and if I can justify it both in their character and from Issei's character has a chance. A CHANCE.

Sorry, but genuinely Yasaka and Gabriel are incapable of being in his Harem in this story. I know I'm disappointing a specific "Fan group" out there… but just to make you specific people out there happy I was thinking of adding either Grayfia, Venelena, or Lady Phenex (Been leaning to possible permanent member for her) as a possible One-time thing… or I also thought of Adding Penemue as a more permanent member to keep y'all off my back.

Asia will be like a sister to him. One because I loathe Her. Two, because I can't write her character to save my life. Third because she is literally the biggest CB to any progress with any girl in his harem throughout the entire story and I will fight anyone who disagrees. Fourth, because I'm making her OP as shit. And fifth, because she always seemed better off as a one-off pairing character rather than a Harem member.

This doesn't mean that another Nun won't Join the Harem. I'll let y'all's imagination run with that one as to who that is going to be.

Also, Rias Will not be the main pairing. She will definitely be Top 5, but not the main Girl. (Don't worry everyone will have their time but Issei and this one particular girl will have slightly more.)

I'm also going to be addressing some of the problems I personally have with certain characters.

Some of the character's history will be tweaked, but I'm going to keep a lot of it relatively the same unless the changes I made to Issei would have had a direct impact on someone's life. Like Kiba's. You'll have to figure that one out to. (No Kiba is not Gender bent… There is only one character who deserves to be Gender bent… well two but even I'm not crazy enough to go with the nightmare one of you inflicted on me years ago with the idea of a muscle mommy Sairaorg Gender bend… I still get wet dr- err…nightmares. Ill let y'all figure out the other one that deserves to be bent (No pun intended). Dunno if he will though yet.)

Anyways. I'll answer anything else y'all ask throughout the week until I post the new story with the first chapter.

Until then.

Peace.
