A/N:
Enjoy some Muggle Luna angst. And before anyone asks, no, he did not leave her on purpose. Most of you can assume what happened to Pandora Lovegood when she was left to work at home alone, and why Xeno would have to rush out unexpectedly.
Also, apologies, this went up with no beta. All mistakes are mine!

Luna giggled as she sat at her table at the fast food restaurant that her daddy took her to. Mummy was working from home today, so Daddy decided to take her out of the house to give her some peace and quiet. First, Luna was able to indulge in a thin cheeseburger and the most delicious fries she's ever had. Her daddy didn't let her have a fizzy drink, but she was perfectly content with the white milk that came with her meal.
Surprisingly enough, however, her meal had also come with a toy! Her daddy had to help her assemble it, however when it was put together, Luna could press a button and a small plastic disc came flying out of the creature's mouth. Luna shrieked in surprise and delight, scrambling down from her chair to go collect the disc.
"Don't go too far, Sugar Plum!" her daddy called out to her. Luna snatched up the little toy disc from the floor and looked up, seeing a blonde family before her waiting in line. They had a little boy with them, who was tugging impatiently at his mother's sleeve. Luna turned and headed back to her father, depositing the toy on the table.
"Daddy, can I go in the play area?" she asked her own blond father. He looked up and smiled.
"Of course, Poppet. You go have fun now. I'll be right here with your shoes," he replied. Luna beamed at him before sitting back in her chair to shed her light up trainers that her mummy had gotten her just the week before. Once the shoes were in the safety of her father's bag, Luna dashed through the clear glass door that separated the play area from the family dining area. With a squeal, she dove into the ball pit and began to play.
Throughout her imaginative play, several kids joined her and then left her, called back by parents who had to leave. Several times, Luna peeked through the glass to see her father reading a book at the table they had been at. Just the glance was enough to confirm his location. One of the times she looked up, he was gone from the table, but a quick cursory look around the restaurant showed her the back of her daddy's blond head as he stood in front of the fountain drink dispenser. Mollified, she turned back to the pair of twins she was chatting with in the spaceship compartment at the very top of the play area.
It took a long while for Luna to tire herself out, and all too soon she began to get hungry again. Climbing down and exiting the room, Luna looked around the fast food dining area, a growing frown on her face as she couldn't locate her father.
"Daddy?" she called out, wandering around the tiled floor in just her socks. Tears pricked at her eyes as her search became more frantic. "Daddy?!"
"Sweetie, are you alright?" Luna turned to find one of the employees a few feet away, looking at her concernedly.
"I can't find my daddy!" Luna replied, tears spilling down her cheeks. She hiccupped, letting herself be swept forward into a hug.
"Oh no! Let's go find my manager. Do you know your phone number? Maybe we can call your house?" she asked. Luna nodded and let herself be ushered behind the counter. The food employee directed her to the far back where a small office was, and she sat in a spinny office chair. When prompted, Luna recited off her home phone number, tucking her sock-clad feet under her to keep herself warm. The manager, who dialed the number on the phone, frowned as a loud tone back back. He hung up.
"I'm sorry, it said the phone was disconnected. If we look at the cameras, will you be able to point out your daddy? We can maybe find out what happened," the manager said. Luna nodded, more tears running down her face.
Did her daddy forget her? Or did he leave her here on purpose?
Over her head, she vaguely heard the manager tell his other employee to call the police.
But why would the police need to be called?
Luna stayed silent as the camera feed was pulled up, and she pointed out what table where and her daddy had been sat at. The cameras showed that he had stayed there for a long time, and then his beeper went off. Her daddy then frantically packed his bag and left, his mouth moving as if calling for someone. He left the building, and then, after a long time of fast forwarding, Luna ambled out of the play area. She burst into tears again.
Where had he gone?!
