"First Game"

James cheered with the crowd as his son swooped through the air, a natural on the broom. He and his wife Lily sat in the Gryffindor stands with his best friends Sirius, Remus, and Peter, cheering on Harry as he Seeked for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. This was Harry's first game, and it was a big deal to have a Second Year on the team. According to Harry's letters home–once a week, as he had promised his mother–he had saved a friend's Remembrall from a bully, and had gotten fast tracked onto one of two of the junior team made up specifically of First and Second years.

Man, I wish we would have had something like that when we were younger, James thought to himself and he and the rest of the Gryffindor stands roared again in delight as the Chasers scored another goal. He himself was a Chaser, and was thrilled when Harry wanted to follow in his footsteps. As a birthday present, he and Lily had given Harry a Nimbus 2000–the broom he currently rode–and Harry had spent the entire day in the garden up on his new broom.

"Potter has seen the snitch!" the announcer suddenly exclaimed. Everyone in the stands jumped to their feet, the Marauders included to scream encouragement as Harry dove towards the grass near the Hufflepuff stands. The Ravenclaw Seeker tried to keep up with him, but lagged behind on her Comet 360. Moments later had Harry veering up, the tiny golden Snitch clutched between his fingers as he raised his hand triumphantly in the air.

With another roar of delight as Sirius pounded him on the back in elation, James couldn't help but grin in pride at his talented son. Now if only he could convince Lily to have a full Quidditch team worth of kids, seeing how well this one and the twins turned out…
