"Hello Freddy"
The bundle in his arms was unmoving, but not worryingly so. After all, one didn't expect much out of a newborn, and the one in his arms, his nephew, was only minutes old. Swaddled in a bright orange blanket–as if the son of George Weasley would be swaddled in anything less garish–the newest addition to the Weasley family slept on, unaware of the legacy he would carry on.
"He looks exactly like you and Freddy did when you were born, if not a little bigger," Charlie mentioned, gazing adoringly at the bundle in his arms. George stood by his wife's side, Angelina looking exhausted in the bed after an arduous 16 hour labor. Charlie was the first one to hold the newborn, besides Fred and Angie and the Healers.
Charlie was moved by having the honor of holding the child first, even before Molly and Arthur Weasley.
"What's his name?" Charlie asked, looking up at George expectantly. It was April 1st, 2008, and Charlie fully expected George's first son would be named as a pun, or something funny.
With tears in his eyes, and his hand holding tightly onto Angelina's, George replied in a wavering voice. "Fred Weasley the second."
His own voice thick with emotion, Charlie smiled down at the orange clad newborn in his arms, who only now wiggled a moment before settling down. "Hello Freddy Junior. I'm Charlie, your Uncle. Your daddy and mummy made me your Godfather. You have such a huge legacy to live up to, but you will be so loved. So, so loved." Charlie leaned down to kiss Fred on the forehead before rocking the suddenly fussy baby.
"Bring him here," Angelina said, holding her arms out. Charlie handed over the baby and looked away to let her nurse in privacy. George came over to join Charlie in the corner. Charlie threw his arm across his brother's back in a one-armed hug.
"He would be so proud," Charlie whispered with a smile.
