Rapunzel landed her tower on the outskirts of London, 1891. It was nighttime, which gave her and Eugene time to sleep before going out in the morning to find the next clue in getting closer to the Society's headquarters.
And getting closer to finding her parents.
Eugene wrapped his arms around her from behind. "You've been quiet since we left Ohio. What's on your mind?"
"Everything," she admitted. "My parents. The Society. Cass." She could see out her window that Cass had landed her own tower right next to hers. Cass was officially working with them now, instead of trying to kill them, which was wonderful. But Rapunzel still doubted Cass. After all Cass had done to her, it was hard to fully trust her.
"Forget about Cass," Eugene said, kissing the top of her head. "I don't want to think about Cass right now when I have you in my arms."
She leaned back against him. "I just hope tomorrow morning goes well and we can find the next clue right away."
"You know that's never how that works."
"I know. But a girl can hope."
"A girl can also go to bed." He let her go and grabbed her hand. "Come on. We had a long day of being stuck in a time loop. I'm ready to get my beauty sleep."
She lifted an eyebrow. "Just beauty sleep?"
A slow smirk formed across his face. "Why? Did you have something else in mind?"
"I want you to make me forget about everything for a moment. I need to give my mind a break."
"I can do that," he said in a low voice as he leaned down and kissed her.
The kiss started off light and gentle but quickly turned passionate and rough.
Rapunzel wrapped her arms around his shoulders, drawing him closer while he gripped her hips. She loved his touch. She lived for his touch. Nothing had ever made her more happy than being with Eugene in any capacity - whether that was running for her life with him or making love with him.
And right now, she wanted to make love.
Eugene lifted her up in his arms and carried her up to her bedroom as they continued to kiss. He set her down and began to undress her. First went her top, then her skirt as she kicked off her shoes. Then lastly her bra and panties.
"It's not fair," she panted as she gripped his jacket. "I want to see you too."
"As you wish." He quickly got rid of his own clothes with her helping him.
Once they were both fully naked, they laid down onto her bed side by side and took a moment to kiss. If there was only one thing she could do for the rest of her life it would be to kiss Eugene Fitzherbert.
He rolled her onto her back as he set his body on top of hers. Their chests were pressing together. She loved the feeling of her breasts against his chest. It sent a heat straight to her center.
She clenched her legs together to help with her arousal. Eugene noticed and smirked.
"Lay back," he said as he began to kiss down her chest. She was breathing heavy by the time he reached her stomach. He opened her legs and she let him without any hesitation. Eugene had done this to her before but she was still just as excited.
He set her legs on his shoulders before he brought his face between her legs and kissed her folds. She moaned softly, her hips bucking up. He chuckled as he held her in place and kissed her all along the sensitive skin between her legs. When his tongue licked her bundle of her nerves, she almost lost it.
"Eugene," she gasped out, clutching his head and letting her own head drop back.
He was a pro with his tongue as he licked and sucked at her most intimate area. She tried not to let it her bother her at the thought of why he was so good at this. He had done it before to other women, she knew. She was not his first while he was her first. It was a little unfair. She wanted Eugene only for herself and didn't want to imagine him with any other woman.
She tensed for a moment but Eugene rubbed circles into her thighs with his hands and she relaxed and focused on the pleasure he was giving her. His past didn't matter. What mattered was that he was hers now.
And she was his. Always.
His tongue brushed her entrance, barely slipping inside her before backing out. She thought she was going to lose her mind in anticipation of what he was doing to her.
He brought his lips and tongue back up to her sensitive nub and pleasured it until she was writhing around, desperate for release. When his eyes locked with hers, she knew she was done for.
She cried out his name as she came. Her body trembled and shuddered hard and he held her the entire time, continuing to pleasure her with his mouth. Once she was done, he kissed back up her body, smiling smugly.
"How was that for taking your mind off things?"
"It was good," she admitted, blushing slightly.
He smiled as he kissed her again and aligned his erection to her entrance. She wrapped her legs around his waist as he sank into her. They both moaned together.
Eugene encircled his arms around her, pulling her even closer to him. His hips began to shift, thrusting into her. They pressed their heads together and never lost eye contact, even as the pleasure became too much.
"I love you," he whispered to her, grinding his hips down. The way he could say something so romantic to her while doing something so dirty to her made her arousal grow.
"I love you so much," she said back. Her fingers dug into his back, almost like she was making sure he'd never leave her. She knew he wouldn't. But that didn't mean death couldn't separate them. Death already had. There was no reason death couldn't do it again.
He groaned as he thrust into her harder. She couldn't even think or breathe in that moment without him.
Eugene increased his pace, slapping his hands down on the bed on either side of her. They were both breathing heavy, sweat on their heads, and lust in their eyes.
Every thrust sent a ripple of pleasure through her. It didn't take long for her to come again.
"Oh!" she moaned as her release hit her.
Eugene thrusted into her once more before he came next, shuddering and panting. He groaned as he rested his head in the crook of her neck. She traced circles against his hair as they laid in each other's arms.
"I really do love you," she said. "I'm sorry I considered dying again back in Egypt."
He looked up at her. "That's in the past now. I know I have you."
"I'm just scared that one of the assassins is finally going to get us. We died a lot in that time loop."
"I know. But we survived. That's what we focus on. We have each other and we're always stronger with each other." He kissed her gently. "And I love you too, by the way."
"How could I forget?"
"Never. I'll always remind you, even when I'm old and grey."
She raked her hand through his hair. "I think you'll look good with grey hair."
"I know. I'll be a silver fox."
He made her laugh as he rolled off of her and pulled her into his arms. She rested her head on his chest.
"Let's enjoy this moment," she said, tracing circles with her finger on his chest. "Who knows what's going to happen tomorrow?"
"Especially Cass being with us now." He shuddered in horror.
She gently swatted his chest. "Don't say that around her. Don't do anything to make her more upset. Ok?"
"Ok. I'll try."
"Don't try. Do."
"Ok. I'll try to do… something to not upset her." He smiled cheekily down at her.
All she could do was roll her eyes but she had a smile on her face anyway.
In the morning, they got dressed. Rapunzel was in a gown from the 1890s. She had on a pink shirt and black riding jacket over it while her long pink skirt flared out around her. Her hair was in a simple updo.
She looked ridiculously cute, Eugene though as he slipped into his navy jacket. He grabbed a cane for good measure.
"Why a cane?" she asked.
He shrugged. "From what I've seen of the 1800s on TV, men always walk around with canes. I figured I might as well try. It's stylish and makes for a good weapon." He leaned against it, lifting his head high. "How do I look?" he asked in a snobby voice.
She laughed. "Come on. We need to get Cass and head out. The Society already knows we're on our way here, so there's a good chance there's an assassin roaming the streets of London."
"Remember the last time we were in London? Shakespeare kept trying to hit on you."
"It was also where I kissed you for the first time," she said softly. "Well, I thought it was my last kiss with you. But for you, everything was just beginning."
"And it was a great first kiss to have." He wrapped her in his arms and kissed her. "Best first kiss I've ever experienced."
"How many first kisses have you had?"
He pulled back and stared down at her curiously. "You really want to know?"
"Not really. But I can't help but wonder."
"A lot," he admitted. "I don't even remember the number. But none of that matters, Rapunzel. You're my girl. I'm your guy. No other woman could do it for me. Not now. Not ever."
Her breath hitched. "What can a girl even say to that?"
"Say that you love me and we can be on our way."
"I love you."
He winked. "Love you too."
They held hands as they left her tower, walking towards Cass's tower. "I wonder if we'll see that symbol again," Rapunzel murmured. "It keeps popping up."
"I know. We better get answers soon. The lack of them are driving me fucking insane."
Rapunzel lifted her fist to knock on Cass's door but before she could, the door ripped open and Cass stepped out. She was in a dark green riding dress and black gloves. She still had her sword attached to her hip.
The look she gave them was one of annoyance. "I thought for a moment that you guys would be gone. That we wouldn't have to work together."
"Too bad for you," Eugene said. "Because we're here to stay. But if you want to go, be my guest." He motioned for her to leave.
Cass scowled. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm finding the next clue because I'm determined to reach the Society's headquarters."
"Well, so are we," he snapped back.
"Don't get in my way."
"Don't get in ours."
Rapunzel stepped between him and Cass. "Enough. We all need to work together to find this next clue. So, no more fighting." She turned to Cass. "I'm happy you're here with us."
For just a moment, Cass's eyes softened before they quickly hardened again. "You know I never liked sappy sentimentality, Raps. Save it for your boy toy."
Eugene huffed. "Boy toy? I'll have you know I'm a man toy." He paused and frowned. "I mean… you know what I mean!"
Cass smirked as she started walking towards the city.
The streets of London were just as cramped and smelly as Eugene remembered from his time in 1599 but at least this time, people weren't throwing their shit out of windows.
"People started getting toilets in this time," Rapunzel explained after seeing his inquisitive look. It was kind of spooky how she seemed to know what he was thinking without him having to say it.
"I don't care about toilets," Cass said from in front of them. "I just want to know where we can find this next clue. London is huge. It could be anywhere."
"The arcade game didn't give us much to go on," Rapunzel said. "It just said, London, 1891."
Eugene frowned. "No. There was something else." Both women looked at him. "There was an image of a werewolf on the game. Maybe the next clue has something to do with wolves."
"But where are we going to find wolves in London in 1891?" Cass asked in a doubtful tone.
Rapunzel glanced up with a knowing look on her face. "How about the zoo?"
The London zoo was tiny compared to what it would become in the future. There were giraffes and monkeys and even tigers. But it was the wolf enclosure that held Rapunzel's attention.
The arcade game had a picture of a werewolf on it so how could these wolves give them their next clue?
Eugene leaned in close to the enclosure, which was just a really tall fence made out of bars. A wolf looked up at him before laying its head back down on its paws.
"Fascinating," he said sarcastically.
"I never liked zoos," Rapunzel said. "All these animals locked up."
Eugene looked at her. "Hits too close to home, Blondie?"
Cass looked at them sharply before Rapunzel could respond. She knew better than to talk about Gothel in Cass's presence.
"Let's just try to find the clue and then we can leave," Rapunzel said, not looking at Cass as she did so.
They spent the next hour studying the wolves. A lot of people came and went during that time. And through it all, they weren't closer to finding out what the next step would be in reaching the Society's headquarters.
"This is pointless," Eugene said, flopping onto a bench. "These wolves aren't giving us anything useful."
"You can't just give up," Cass said. "You're pathetic if you give up after an hour."
"Need I remind you that you tried to kill us again and again?"
"I would have succeeded if it weren't for that time loop. And then you wouldn't be here annoying me."
Eugene stood up. "The only reason you're here is because we told you where to go next. You should be thanking us."
Cass scoffed. "I am not thanking you. I find you odious."
"Odious?"
"Yes. You do know the word, don't you?"
Eugene looked like he didn't know the word but he didn't comment on it. "I take it odious is bad, so with that in mind – you are odious!" He pointed his finger at her as he said it.
Cass pushed his finger away. "Don't point at me."
"Remember – you tried to kill us."
She only rolled her eyes and turned back to the wolves.
While those two were bickering, Rapunzel had her attention drawn somewhere else. Across from the wolf enclosure was a wall that led to the reptile house. On the wall was a poster with a woman who looked part human and part wolf. She was seated at a séance table with a round globe on the table before her.
Below the image were the words – if you seek answers, seek me. Madame Beaumont. Medium.
Rapunzel knew there were answers she needed and Madame Beaumont seemed ready to give them, given her advertisement. The Society left clues for anyone to find. Yes, they had them guarded but they weren't making it impossible. This had to be it.
When she turned back to Cass and Eugene, she heard that they were bickering over who was a better fighter.
"I was trained by the Society myself," Cass was saying.
"Well, I was trained by life," Eugene retorted.
"Well, I killed you with my sword a handful of times."
"That was because of the time loop."
She shrugged. "Semantics."
"Guys," Rapunzel said, interrupting. "I know where to go." She pointed at the poster.
Eugene squinted at it before he laughed. "A medium? What - are there ghosts now?"
"Yes," Cass and Rapunzel said in unison.
Eugene blinked. "Huh. Really?"
"We learned about it back at the Academy," Rapunzel explained, sharing a look with Cass, which Cass immediately looked away from. "There's an alien race that is an entire population of ghosts."
"How does that happen?"
"They're an alien species," she said it like it was obvious. "And clearly, Madame Beaumont is an alien herself, given her half-wolf look. She must have the answers we're looking for."
"I mean, I guess," he said. "I'm willing to try anything. But if I get possessed by a demon, that's on you, Blondie." He paused. "No, wait. That's on Cass. Because she's the one I'm going to haunt so I can annoy her to death."
"Har-har," Cass responded in a very clear sarcastic voice. "You think you're so funny, don't you?"
Eugene looked smug as he crossed his arms. "I do, actually."
Cass sighed and turned to Rapunzel. "So, where do we find this Madame Beaumont? Does she offer an address?"
"No." Rapunzel's shoulders deflated. "I have no clue where to find her. But if she's a medium, then the London Ghost Club should know who she is. We'll ask them."
Eugene's eyebrows shot into his hair. "I'm sorry. London Ghost Club? For real?"
"Yes, for real. They've been investigating paranormal activity since the 1800s. And since we're in the year 1891, they would be around. If someone is a practicing medium, they would know about it."
"How do you know so much about this ghost club?" he asked her.
Rapunzel felt her face light on fire. "Oh, um… I kind of have a fascination with studying all things ghost after I got to the Academy."
"I remember," Cass said with a soft look on her face before she quickly squashed it. "It was annoying."
"Rapunzel is not annoying," Eugene said, throwing his arm around Rapunzel's shoulders. "She's the most interesting woman I have ever met."
Rapunzel smiled up at him while Cass looked like she was going to vomit.
"So, let's go to this Ghost Club," he said.
"There's only one problem," Rapunzel said. "They don't allow women in there during this time. So…"
Eugene sighed. "Guess it's up to me."
Eugene was always particularly good at gaining information from people. Usually it was women though, so having to enter a club with just men didn't feel right. Sure, he could still flirt. But this was 1891. He was pretty sure flirting openly with men during this time would get him arrested.
The Ghost Club was in a large, grand looking building. Inside, it was no less grand. Mahogany wood covered everything. Large portraits of stuffy looking men resided on the walls. Men and more men walked around the lobby, talking to each other.
"Interested in joining our fine establishment?" a man asked Eugene. He had a tiny little mustache that made him look sort of pedophilic.
"If I say yes, then would be willing to tell me where I can find Madame Beaumont?"
The man laughed. "An American, I see. As for Madame Beaumont, that crack is a fake. A hoax. She's ugly as sin with all her facial hair." He shuddered. "Why would you want to find her when the men of the Ghost Club are all professionals at finding evidence of the afterlife?"
Eugene wanted to smack this man. Mostly, he wanted to smack the mustache right off him. "I'm Eugene. And you?"
"Maxwell."
"Of course it is," Eugene muttered. Maxwell frowned but before he could get upset, Eugene said, "I would love to learn the ways of… ghost hunting. But I am really looking to find Madame Beaumont. I… want to laugh at her face and make fun of it."
"Right. Cheerio. Great idea. We can find Madame Beaumont tonight actually. She's hosting one of her infamous seances." He leaned in closer. "She never gets real results. It's all lies. But I do love mocking the woman. I shall join you."
Eugene blinked. "Uh… do you have to?"
Maxwell also blinked. Then frowned. "Why wouldn't I? Madame Beaumont makes a mockery of the sport of seances and ghost hunting. I shall go with and let her know that she won't get away with doing her ridiculous seances."
"Look, buddy, can you just tell me what her address is?"
"She likes to stay in a home in Cheyne Walk. I shall pick you up later tonight and take you."
"That won't be necessary."
"No. I shall do it. I love teaching new students the ways of the spiritualism movement. Where are you staying?"
Eugene couldn't very well tell Maxwell he was staying in a magical time traveling tower that looked like the tower his girlfriend had been held captive in for the first eighteen years of her life.
Wait. What was he saying? Of course he should tell Maxwell that. The snobby idiot would think he was crazy and leave him alone.
So, he said. "I'm actually staying in a magical time traveling tower that looks like the tower my girlfriend had been held captive in for the first eighteen years of her life." He paused. "So, you know." He quickly turned away as Maxwell stood there, blinking in confusion.
"He's not going to find out where Madame Beaumont lives," Cass muttered as she and Rapunzel stood outside the Ghost Club.
"Eugene is smart. He'll find out."
"I doubt that. He cant shut up long enough to figure anything out."
Rapunzel sighed and stared hard at Cass. "Be nice to my boyfriend. Eugene is better at this than you give him credit for. He's the reason I'm alive right now. I love him."
Cass stared back, shock on her face, before she morphed her features back into her normal stoic expression. "Well, I still think you have bad taste in men."
"How can I when Eugene's the only person I've ever been with?"
"Just… you know what I mean." She huffed, shaking her head. "You've changed a lot since we were friends. You're… a lot more mature now."
"That's because I'm not an innocent eighteen-year-old anymore, Cass. I'm twenty now. I've lived more of a life in these past two years than most people have. Between our friendship and losing it to finding Eugene and experiencing love for the first time, I have grown. But it seems you haven't."
Cass looked at her quickly and opened her mouth to say something when Eugene came running back out of the doors.
"I found where Madame Beaumont is," he said. "But we have a problem."
"What kind of problem?" Cass asked flatly.
"That kind of problem." He pointed behind him to the doors of the Ghost Club where a man was running out and shouting things at Eugene. "That's Maxwell. He thinks I belong in a mental institution. We should leave before I'm dragged away."
"Good idea," Rapunzel said before she leaned up on her tiptoes and kissed him lightly on the lips. "You did good."
"I know. I always do."
She laughed while Cass gagged.
Then they quickly hurried away from the Ghost Club and headed in the direction of Madame Beaumont's place.
"There she is," Arianna said, looking at her daughter from across the street. Rapunzel was standing beside another young woman outside the Ghost Club.
"You know we can't approach her," Frederic said. "The Society expects us to kill her. It's better if we keep our distance."
"I know." Arianna knew. Of course she knew. But giving up her daughter to the Society would mean her own freedom. That was a very tempting idea.
But… looking at her daughter, really looking at her for the first time since she was a baby, was hitting Arianna harder than she expected.
"I can't believe she's been out here on her own," Frederic said, shaking his head.
"She clearly has a friend." She pointed to the other young woman.
"They don't seem like friends, Ari. Look at the way they're looking at each other. That's not friendly."
"Then our daughter really is on her own. This entire time." The thought made her want to cry.
And then a young man came running out of the club.
Rapunzel stood on her tiptoes to kiss him and the sight of that shocked Arianna. Even Frederic looked shaken.
"She…"
"So, she's not alone," Frederic said. "She has a… boyfriend, I'm assuming."
"She shouldn't have a boyfriend. She's too young."
"She's twenty now, Ari. That's pretty normal for girls her age. But I hate the look of the guy. He's only going to break her heart."
She turned to her husband. "Fred, do we have a say in what our daughter does? Who she dates? We haven't been a part of her life for years. We've never really been a part of her life."
"I know." Frederic looked deeply sad at the thought. "I just wish we could protect her. I can't even go see her without worrying the Society will find out and force me to hurt her."
Arianna didn't say anything. She wasn't as worried about that as Frederic was because… she was considering hurting Rapunzel herself to get what she needed – her own freedom. She had helped create the Time Traveler's Society but she didn't have control of it anymore. What would her life be like if she did have control?
She could maybe even go back in time and keep Rapunzel from getting kidnapped. And then she would never be in this position where she'd have to potentially hurt her daughter.
Arianna could fix everything. But to do that, she'd have to kill her daughter first and that thought cut her to her core.
Rapunzel got changed into a pink evening gown complete with puffy short sleeves, a tucked in waist, and a flared out ruffled layered skirt.
Eugene whistled when he saw her. "You look way too good in that."
She blushed under his praise. "Thank you. And you look good yourself."
He was in an elevated navy suit with his hair slightly slicked back. "I think I look quite dapper. Maxwell would be proud."
"Didn't Maxwell want to throw you into a mental institution?"
"That was because I told him about your tower. He didn't believe me. Don't worry. Now, shall we go to a séance?" He held his arm out to her and she took it.
They left her tower and met up with Cass, who was waiting impatiently for them. She also had on an evening gown but it was black and green, instead of pink and purple like Rapunzel's.
"Let's get this over with," Cass muttered, tugging on her dress. "I hate wearing a corset."
Madame Beaumont's house was elegant and sophisticated and open for anyone to come inside. A multitude of other guests just entered her house like they belonged there.
The home was lit with both candlelight and electricity giving everything a warm glow. People milled about, talking and drinking.
Rapunzel kept her eyes and ears open for Madame Beaumont.
But it wasn't hard to spot her. The woman of the hour was interesting to look at. She had dark brown hair covering her face and hands but despite that, she looked beautiful in her deep red gown. Her eyes shown brightly.
"If she knows the next clue," Rapunzel said, "do you think she could be the guardian of it?"
"It's not unheard of," Cass said. "The Society has been known to employee different alien species."
"Do you think she'll even tells us where the next clue is?" Eugene asked. "Because I'm starting to think that the Society is sending us on a wild goose chase to find their headquarters. It's just one clue after another."
"There's only one way to find out," Rapunzel said, walking forward to meet Madame Beaumont. "Hello. Madame Beaumont. I'm Rapunzel. This is Eugene and Cassandra."
She looked at them with curious eyes. "Hello. I knew you'd come. You're looking for the next clue."
"So, you do work for the Society," Cass demanded.
"I'm afraid I can't say. But I am a medium. And strange things have been known to happen on full moons like tonight. The answers you're seeking will take place at my séance tonight. Join me." She paused. "If you dare." She gave them a secretive smile and a small wave before she walked away.
"That wasn't weird or anything," Eugene muttered.
"We're going to that séance," Rapunzel said.
It didn't take long for that portion of the party to arrive. Madame Beaumont thanked everyone for coming and invited everyone to join her in her séance room. There was a large, circular table in the center of the room with chairs all around it.
Madame Beaumont took her seat. "Anyone is welcome to join me."
Rapunzel hurried forward to take a seat. Eugene begrudgingly followed. And after a moment, Cass took a seat too, but she sat far away from them, Rapunzel noticed.
A few other women and men joined the table. The rest of the party looked on.
"We shall begin tonight with contacting the dead," Madame Beaumont said. "It will give you the answers you're seeking." She said that while looking Rapunzel directly in the eye. "Everyone, take hands and let us begin."
Rapunzel gripped Eugene's hand in both eagerness and worry. She had never been to a séance before. It was exciting! But she was also worried that Madame Beaumont wouldn't be able to give her the news she wanted to hear. What if this was a dead end? Then she'd be one step removed from finding her parents.
Madame Beaumont recited an incantation in Latin. It spoke of awakening the dead.
Rapunzel felt a chill pass through the room before all the lights went out. A few women screamed. The crowd murmured. Rapunzel felt Eugene's hand tighten around hers.
Then the lights came back on and Madame Beaumont had her head thrown back and she was speaking in tongues – almost like she was possessed.
And then she snapped back to herself and her eyes landed back onto Rapunzel. "The answer you seek is hidden within a castle at the edge of lake. It is from there that you'll find the next piece of the puzzle."
"Where is this castle?" Rapunzel asked.
Madame Beaumont opened her mouth to speak right when Maxwell burst into the room and was screaming about how much of a fake Madame Beaumont was. That made Madame Beaumont look away from Rapunzel. "How dare you, sir. We're in the middle of a séance. You cannot disturb us."
"You are a fake," he said, walking over to her. "This man can attest to that." He was pointing at Eugene.
Eugene raised his hands up. "Hey. I never agreed to that."
"You should be ashamed of yourself," Maxwell said to Madame Beaumont. "You are a fraud. You don't deserve to sit at a séance table." He dragged her away from the table violently.
Rapunzel stood up. "Let her go."
"The séance must be closed," Madame Beaumont said. "It must be closed. Bad things will happen if it's not."
"That's not true," Maxwell said, dragging her closer to the door. "You should be arrested for how you deceive these people."
"Let her go," Cass said, drawing her sword and pointing it at Maxwell.
A few women screamed again while a lot of them looked both terrified and impressed.
"Where was she keeping that?" Eugene whispered to Rapunzel.
"I will not let her go. You all deserve to know what kind of fraud she is." Maxwell stormed over to the table and lifted up the sheet over it, exposing… nothing. There were no tricks or deceptions. "Well, I can prove she's fake in other ways."
"How?" a man asked.
Maxwell gulped. "Uh…"
"It seems that I am not a fake," Madame Beaumont said.
That only made Maxwell more angry. He grabbed her arms again and shoved her out of the room and continued pushing her until she was out of the house. The entire party followed.
Madame Beaumont stood in the street, under the light of the full moon, and looked back at her guests. "You weren't supposed to see me like this."
And then right before everyone's eyes, she turned into a full, complete wolf.
More women screamed and that time, even some men too.
Cass tightened her grip on her sword. "So, a werewolf."
"Looks like it," Rapunzel said. "She didn't get to finish telling us where the next clue's location is. All we know is that it's a castle by a lake. There are a lot of castles by lakes."
"Uh, guys," Eugene said, "maybe we don't worry about that right now. It looks like Madame Beaumont wants to eat us with her teeth."
Eugene was right.
Madame Beaumont, now in complete wolf form, was snarling at them and getting ready to pounce.
And then she lunged right for them.
Until Sunday!
