Like everyday so far, Kazuma woke up feeling a little more crappy and wished to cease to exist as he stepped outside of his room and began to pour himself some cereal.
Yes he was able to make himself some new friends in the form of Sora, Shiro, Shinichi, Myucel, and many more when they played TF2, Overwatch, Borderlands 3, or the Friday the 13th game, and while he wouldn't take his new friends for granted, it still hurts Kazuma how his old friends turned on him and left him.
The fact he lived with 3 of his friends, and that his old friends come over every day to lie at his face about making up and burying the hatchet, only hurts him more.
He wants to believe them, he wants to forgive, but he can't forget their actions for what they did to him, and actions will speak louder than anything that'll come out of their mouths.
With a bowl of cereal at hand, Kazuma made his way into the living room where he began to set himself up to play Devil May Cry 5, before he heard a knock on the door.
Wonder who could that be, thought Kazuma as he went to answer the door to see it was Naofumi and his friends including the new company that was Naofumi.
"This is an expected" said Kazuma, "Hi sorry to bother you, but mind letting is in Kazuma" asked Raphtalia.
Having no qualms with them, Kazuma was none the less suspicious that they were sent on the behalf of his ex friends.
"Alright, but let me make this clear that if you came here to talk me into going back to school and forgive my friends, then you're wasting your time" said Kazuma.
"Alright, sounds fair" said Naofumi, "Master Naofumi" said Raphtalia as she still was surprised by her masters antihero response and actions.
"Clearly Kazuma's been wrong by the people he thought he could trust, and nothing is going to convince him to give his full apology overnight, and trust me since I know this better than everyone" said Naofumi as he took charge in approaching the situation as this got them access to entering the house.
"He's got video games master" said Filo as she sat on the couch and began to play, "Filo" said Naofumi, "It's fine, you guys said you wanted to talk so let's talk" said Kazuma as he turned to Otonashi and his group of friends.
"I don't think we've met" said Kazuma to the group, "No we haven't, my name is Yuzuru Otonashi, and these are my friends" said Otonashi.
"My name Kanade Tachibana" said Tachibana apathetically, "My name is Hideki Hinata" said Hinata as he wrapped his arms around Yui, "And I'm his wife Hideki Yui" cheered Yui, "Greetings, my name is Ayato Naoi" said Naoi as he tipped his hat.
"So I got to ask first, who sent you guys this time around" asked Kazuma, "No one really sent us, Raphtalia learned of your situation because of Aqua, but there wasn't anyone you know who sent us to greet you" explained Naofumi.
"Same thing could be said about us, though were ordered and sent here by our leader Yuri" said Otonashi.
Now seeing the full picture, Kazuma decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and put his trust in them.
"Alright, so with that out of the way, what do you guys want to talk about" asked Kazuma, "I would like to at least know why you chose to shut out your friends, if that's alright" asked Raphtalia.
"I take it none of them ever bothered telling you guys in great detail what happened that night" asked Kazuma, "You mean how Tanya owns up that prior before your hazing, she was already a bit of a bitch to you" said Hinata.
"So she was up front what had happened" asked Kazuma like he needed to ask as he recalled how Tanya took this as an excuse to go all out in insulting him, tossing things to the ground, and to recently to Kazuma's discovery found his collection of porno smut magazines and movies riddled with bullet holes and used bullet shells he found behind the house.
"Pretty much" said Otonashi said, "Well I guess I don't have to explain she's on the list of people I'd rather not have to deal with for the rest of my life" said Kazuma, as he turned to see that this didn't sate Raphtalia's curiosity.
"Raphtalia tell me exactly what did Aqua told you" asked Kazuma, "She said that she along with everyone else who was at the part for your recent promotion weren't on their best behavior and did something to upset that you became a NEET again, or whatever that word means" said Raphtalia as she never understood the word NEET as of yet.
Rolling his eyes as he should've expected Aqua to refer him to something was true and how she always saw him, Kazuma began to calm himself down before getting into detail what really happened.
"That's putting it very, and I mean very lightly considering how that bitch goddess got so hammered she practically got wasted after telling people to treat me like shit, before passing out like the damn useless bum that she is" said Kazuma with spite.
"Aren't you being a little mean when talking about your girlfriend" asked Tachibana, "Oh for- why do you people keep assuming that me and Aqua are an item or something" Kazuma said frustratingly as that sound just as bad as being put in the current state he was in.
"From what Chris told me, and what your friends retold based on your history together, I always assumed you both were living together as husband and wife" said Raphtalia naively.
"Oh god, that'll be the day I die and get sent straight to hell" said Kazuma as the thought of being together with Aqua was terrifying, even though before all this he will own up that she did have the best ass ever.
"So you guys aren't boyfriend and girlfriend" asked Naoi just to reiterate and pass the message back to Yurippe, "No, no we're not" stated Kazuma for the last time.
"Also you mentioned she's a goddess, what's all that about" asked Naofumi as he hated people who calls themselves and have major god complex's.
"Yeah believe it or not she's really the goddess of water, but because of her personality it's hard to believe that, hell she's had a few cases where she forgets she's a goddess" admitted Kazuma.
Hearing that, and to those who know Aqua in her short time here, and instantly Naofumi had nothing but sympathy for Kazuma for being associated with someone like her.
"Moving on, while she did that, the damn token loli member decided to get sugar high and collapsed after running out like the little kid she is, and the bombshell decided to give herself her own impromptu fraternity hazing for her own masochistic pleasure" said Kazuma as he finished painting the picture of how absolutely useless his team was when he was getting decimated.
"And all this happened as my friends, verbally insulted me, made a huge mess around the house, vandalize and destroyed my room and nearly all of my belongings, and before the restrained me and proceeded to pelt me with anything they could hurt and cover me" said Kazuma as this shook everyone that Filo stopped to pay attention.
"And you know what was the worst part" said Kazuma as he began to lower his head so no one can see him cry out the tears that were forming.
"Out of all that physical abuse, none of that hurt more than hearing them laugh, the new insults, and the reason behind what they did to me as I got to see them who they really were and how they treated me" said Kazuma as he was on the verge of losing himself right there on the spot.
Instinctively, Raphtalia went over and rested his head on her bosom as Kazuma continued to let it out, as people began to really feel bad for him.
Kazuma stayed there and cried for a good minute, as everyone couldn't believe that the people he referred to as friends would betray him like that, and that really pissed Naofumi of as Otonashi and company began to cry.
"Kazuma, lift your head up and listen to me" said Naofumi as he got the shut ins attention to look at him.
"I apologize that you had to endure what you went through, cause I know that pain well enough, but I swear to you as your friend I swear to never betray you and to look after you to the fullest of my abilities" swore Naofumi.
"The same goes for us Kazuma, us and all the members of the Reincarnated Afterlife Battlefront will have your back" said Otonashi as they had all wiped their tears.
In spite of being betrayed and having to deal with the pain and fear of running into his old friends and the ones he currently resides with, Kazuma could take solace in knowing that one's he's currently got and made so far have his back and look out for him.
Sure he was not perfect and definitely his ex-friends were right about every flaw about him, but if this was his second chance in having some real friends, he was going to fight tooth and nail in ensuring that he doesn't screw it up this time around.
Elsewhere
At the top of the school, we see Demiruge as he looked over the school balcony as he was reflecting on his actions and how to right his wrongs in a way to not further upset Ainz.
"When Viktoriya said she saw you up here, I had a hard time believing it since you or any of the other floor guardians usually spend your free time with Ainz" came the voice of Tanya as she approached the devil from behind.
"As perceptive as always Tanya" said Demiruge as he began to formally introduce himself to Tanya, "So what's up" asked Tanya.
"I'm ashamed to admit this but, it appears that I've upset Lord Ainz as such I'm forced into exile from being associated with him or the other guardians with death serving as the ultimate penalty should I disobey for the last time, that is until I get Kazuma to fully forgive me" said Demiruge.
Seeing the devils situation, Tanya was going to discuss and confront Ainz about this later on, but in the meanwhile saw in opportunity.
"When you mean exile, does that include being kicked out of home and school" asked Tanya, "I'm free to attend class, but for the time being my home is at the local park" said Demiruge.
"That's a shame" said Tanya as she began to smirk, "Tell you what, I shall allow you shelter under my roof so long as you promise to follow and obey my command until you're accepted back to serve Ainz".
Hearing this was honestly enough to brighten the devils day as he was starting to feel lost himself without having a strong leader to follow.
"Major Tanya, it'll be an honor to serve under you to the fullest of my abilities" said Demiruge with a bow.
"Good to hear, since in fact I have a mission for you. I need you to go to the student council office room where you'll meet the members of the Reincarnated Afterlife Battlefront club, they have reason to believe that the school is hiding something from all of us, especially in regards to Kazuma suddenly absence from school" explained Tanya.
"Word of warning, they're suspicious of everyone, so while I will let Yuri in of your arrival, be sure to tell them that I sent you" ordered Tanya, "Yes Major" said Demiruge as both left the balcony to do what needs to be done.
In the Faculty Room
"Did you made sure no one followed you" asked Kurt, "Of course that moi was extra careful to ensure that no student dared follow us principle" said Vanir.
"That's good, now let's continue on our discussion in regarding our little truant Satou Kazuma, Mr. Roswaal if you could sum things up how your students have been handling the situation" said Kurt.
"Of course principle Kurt~. It seems that my students attempts in reaching Kazuma has reached mixed results~" said Roswaal.
"Please explain" said Kurt, "In a word of confidence, Ram has admitted to mouth off a little more than her mind ran, resulting her getting a broken nose from Darkness within her home, while her sister, Subaru grudgingly allow themselves to continue to associate with her~" said Roswaal.
"Is that all" asked Kurt, "I'm afraid there is visible hostility amongst Ainz and his friends~. Specifically the very perceptive devil Demiruge~" said Roswaal.
Hearing this worried everyone as this whole situation was going out of hand and the last thing they wanted was for their students and friends to fight amongst themselves.
"This is bad, if this goes on any longer I fear that our students will be incapable of facing off the Destroyer the next time it awakens" commented Erich, "Erich, we agreed to not talk about you know what so long there's a student here on campus" said Kurt.
"Though on the bright side, it seems Kazuma has made some new friends, specifically with the other students that had a reputation of never attending for one reason or another~" informed Roswaal.
"I'm well aware, however, unless these new friends intend to get Kazuma back in school, I fear that our only option is to drag him here by force" said Kurt.
"Sir, you can't be serious" said Erich, "I'm dead serious, but to give the students the benefit of the doubt, I shall allow them to continue doing their things their own way for 2 more weeks, and if we don't see any results, I'm ordering Tanya to retrieve him here by force" said Kurt.
"And Vanir, are you certain that there's no visible life form that's repairing the destroyer this whole time" asked Kurt.
"You doubt moi, why surely you jest sir, for I know and see all and I assure you that there's no one who's going out of their way to repair, let alone control the destroyer" said Vanir.
"And yet we have reports from the members of the student newspaper club they spotted someone entering and exiting the machine, so I want you all to keep a keen eye and investigate who's controlling this war machine and why they're so fixated on Kazuma" said Kurt as this prompted the end of their meeting as they all have a duty to continue to teach the students the second part of class.
