Chapter Eighty: Unforgiven

Touya stared up at his father's towering figure. Unlike when he was a child though, he no longer felt small when standing before him. Right now, he felt taller than ever.

"Mom is at the house so you can't stay there." He warned his parent, "But we could use you to track down Inuyasha before he does something stupid."

He'd called his old man up and asked him to come to Fukuoka. He'd already explained the finer details of the case with him including his and Kagome's past with the other two involved. This was a messy situation and he just wanted it to come to a quick and peaceful end. Although he wouldn't complain if Inuyasha mysteriously died from 'unexplained causes' while in the pro heroes' custody. With Sesshoumaru backing them up, he doubted that there'd be any lawyer audacious enough to challenge the mysterious death.

Unfortunately they would have to find Inuyasha first.

As much as he disliked his old man, he couldn't deny his track record as a hero. Finding criminals and dragging them out from the rocks they were hiding under was something that Endeavor excelled at.

"Do you have his last known location?" His father questioned him, his tone indicative that he was focused more on the job ahead of him rather than their personal problems.

Hawks spoke up that time, "We spotted him near Fukuoka General Hospital this morning. He slipped away before we could track him though."

Touya furrowed his brows at the thought.

Kagome mentioned that Kikyou looked sickly when they'd met up earlier. On his patrol he'd only been able to catch a glimpse of her from the back. So he couldn't say for certain. Still, if Inuyasha was aware of her ill health then he might've anticipated on her going to the Hospital and gave up when she'd never showed.

It was a lucky coincidence that both women had changed their plans for the day in order to reconnect.

"Hey bird," Touya addressed Hawks. "You can use your feathers to search the city, right? Why not start with that?"

The hero had briefly explained the basics of his quirk. He could use his feathers individually to attack, defend, save or even for reconnaissance. A power like that would be advantageous for them if Hawks used it correctly.

"I've already sent about a quarter of my feathers into town. That was how I was able to track Inuyasha earlier." He then gestured towards the conspicuously empty patches of his wings, "It takes anywhere between three to seven days for my feathers to regrow. In a fight, I'd be completely useless if I used all my feathers just searching for our culprit."

"Sounds like excuses to me." Touya rolled his eyes at the man, "Now isn't the time to hold back. You've got the support of the police force and number two hero. Taking a risk on your feathers is our best option here."

He wasn't afraid to admit that he was taking this personally. His wife could be in danger and he wanted to put a stop to the threat before it became a problem.

"I agree," Endeavor nodded in head. "Being cautious right now will only cause more issues. In cases like this time is of the essence. We need to find him before he finds either of them."

Hawks scratched at the side of his cheek, "Okay fine but in order for this to work, it'd be easier if we didn't have to split our forces to protect the girls. Having them both at one location would make it easier to keep them both safe."

Touya's lip curled back in a snarl, "Or it'd just make it easier for Inuyasha to hurt them both. I know you're part bird but start thinking with your brain. Cutting corners will get people killed."

"Look all I'm saying is that we should set up a central defense. We put both Kagome and Kikyou in the middle of that defense zone so we can search for Inuyasha freely." Hawks held up his hands, "Think about it. Even if he finds out where they're at, we'll be waiting for him. He won't be able to get past all of us."

Touya's brows furrowed at the thought.

"You're asking a hell of a lot." He pinned the man with a sharp look, "I'll ask the wife if she'll be okay with Kikyou in the house but don't be shocked if she decided to strip you of your feathers herself and fry you."

Touya stepped away from the group. He quickly pulled out his phone and dialed his wife's number. He didn't have to wait long for her to answer.

"Any news?" Her voice sounded stressed despite how much he knew she was trying not to.

He gave a low sigh, "Not really. Hawks has been asking to let Kikyou stay at the house and set up defensive measures there. I warned him that he can expect to be deep fried if he tried it."

His lips curled up into a smile when he heard the faint sound of Kagome's laughter. It'd only been a few days since he'd last heard that sound but he found himself feeling relieved to hear it again.

"I'm letting you decide if you want to invite the snake in or not." Touya didn't bother to hide his animosity.

He had his reservations about Kikyou being around their children, however with both his mother and Shouto at the house, he doubted she'd be able to do anything even if she wanted to.

Kagome was silent for a moment, likely contemplating her options.

"Sesshoumaru, Jaken, Rin and all of your siblings are here." She began slowly, "So if we bring Kikyou here we'll have to figure out a way to fit everyone."

Touya listened as Kagome discussed different things they could do to be able to make room for her twin. She didn't sound excited but he could at least tell that she was only doing this out of a basic concern for her sibling.

"I'll give her a heads up when I go talk to her." Touya gave a low sigh, "As long as you feel like you can handle her shit, I'll go bring her to you."

He briefly wondered if he could just throw an air mattress outside and let her weather the elements.

That time Kagome gave a hearty laugh, "I've been dealing with the boys all this time. If I couldn't handle her I wouldn't agree to having her here." He could practically hear his wife smirking on the other end of the line, "She should be the one worried about whether or not she can handle the chaos of our zoo."

Touya laughed with her, "Alright you win. I'll drop the evil witch off at the house. You can let the boys bully her." His smile fell after a moment, "My old man is in town too. He hasn't said anything but I get the feeling that he wants to meet the twins. After this shit is settled, would you be opposed to letting him see them?"

She'd never once tried to stop him from reaching out to his dad. When it came to Endeavor, she didn't seem to love or hate the man. She just seemed more apathetic to him than anything else. She preferred to allow them decide what sort of relationship they wanted with each other without intervening. He appreciated that about Kagome but he also knew that he couldn't make executive decisions about their kids without her input. In this case, he'd rather give her to choice to decide what she was most comfortable with.

"I don't mind," Kagome responded. "As long as the visits are supervised and there's no overnights at his house, I'll trust your judgement on letting him meet them."

Touya felt his smile widen, "The day my old man gets overnights with the kids is the day I'm dead and buried."

His wife laughed before she paused, "Hey Touya, do you still hate your father?"

Her tone was curious. As if she were attempting to determine how exactly she should treat his parent. She'd grabbed him by the collar and shamed him the first time they'd met. Ever since then his dad had gradually attempted to become a better man and father. He couldn't say that all his attempts were successful, but it'd at least meant something.

Touya leaned back, "I can't say that I truly hate the guy. I hate the man that he was but I don't like the person he is right now either." He gave a thoughtful hum, "I would put my feelings for him into the 'greatly dislike' category. I doubt I'll ever forgive him but he's the only grandfather our kids got. As long as he's not going to be a total shit bah, I'll give him a small chance to prove himself. Only after I'm certain that he's not going to blow it."

"It's similar for me." Kagome responded, "I don't forgive Kikyou but I don't really hate her either. I just don't really care enough about her to hate her. So I'll be fine while she's here."

He smiled, "Then I better go pick her up and get this over with. Just hang tight. We'll catch Inuyasha soon enough."

With that he hung up the phone.

Higuchi mentioned that Kikyou was expecting. Which meant that if he wanted to find Kikyou then Higuchi's place would have to be the first person he checked with.

Touya gave a small sigh.

He already knew that this was going to be a shit show.
