Coughing out what she prayed was the last remnants in her stomach, the goddess wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, her mind reeling from the information that the attendant just gave her.

'Pregnant…Pregnant?! Oh gods, how did this-'

Feeling a hand on her shoulder, the balancer looked up to Whis, the attendant offering a sympathetic smile to her.

"Feeling better?" he asked, Corsa nodding her head as he helped her up off the tiled floor.

Washing her hands, she stole a glance of herself in the mirror, her face drenched in sweat, causing random strands of hair to plaster to the sides of her flushed countenance. Taking a handful of water, the goddess splashed it onto her face, pulling her hair back to regain some composure.

Drying herself, the attendant patiently waited until asking curiously, "So, what do you plan to do?"

The goddess paused, turning to face Whis inquisitively. Taking a sigh, the balancer glanced down, taking a chance to straighten out the dress. Thankfully, she managed to not get any vomit on it.

"Well, there's not much I can do about it. I mean, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Not like we bothered with protection. I suppose we'll just start a family early. Oh god, we're starting a family. Wait…"

Corsa looked to Whis, stating, "You said something about not 'thinking it was possible'."

Maintaining a well-practiced affect, the attendant brought a finger to his chin, pondering. He stated that such an instance had never occurred before, then again, their relationship was an anomaly among gods.

Taking a sigh, Whis looked down to the goddess, offering, "I suppose like most things with you two, there's a first for everything…"

The goddess felt frozen, her mind wondering to how this would be taken by the other gods, worry seeping in at how the news would be handled by the Grand Zenos. Would it be embraced, or would it wind up in another punishment? She couldn't worry about it now, 'just get through one thing at a time,' she thought to herself. The biggest thing she'd have to contend with would be to figure out how to tell Beerus. How would he react? That notion made her worry most of all.

"Can you do something for me?" she asked, the attendant tilting his head slightly to the side.

"Of course, m'lady."

Taking a breath to calm herself, she walked to the exit, her hand resting on the door handle as she glanced back at him.

"Keep this to ourselves. Just for now. I need some time to process this before telling him."

Whis paused before giving a nod of agreement.

"Thank you."

Hearing the door to the restroom open, the group looked over, taking in the lightly dazed lool on the balancer's face. Giving assurance to their questions, the goddess offered a light insistence of continuing to try on dresses, desperate to give her mind something else to focus on.

While the rest of the group returned to their seats, Beerus approached Corsa, the destroyer pausing before putting a hand gently on her shoulder, moving to lightly rub her back. The action pulled the goddess from her thoughts, finding comfort in the gentle caresses.

"Are you alright?"

The balancer glanced up at the destroyer, a light flush gracing her cheeks.

"Do I look alright?"

Beerus scrunched his face before saying, "Well no, but I figured it'd be rude to say so."

The goddess glared up at him, rolling her eyes as she let out a deep exhale, scratching the sides of her bodice.

"I gotta get out of this dress…it's making me itchy."

The destroyer took a step back, allowing the goddess to walk past him.

"You sure you're okay?"

Waving him off, Corsa said passively, "Yes dear, I'm fine."

Beerus felt a bit of warmth in his chest regarding the terms of endearment she began to use with him, recalling they hadn't done so since the fight in the World of Void. He marveled at how far they had come since that time nearly two months ago. From fighting for their lives to now picking out wedding dresses for an upcoming event that he swore would be burned into his memory. Given how everything had went since meeting the young woman, he doubted that everything would go off without a hitch, noting that all seemed to become riled up in a whirlwind of mishaps. He chuckled to himself, relenting to the fact that nothing about them was part of the norm anyway, might as well just enjoy the ride of a life he now found himself. Whatever happened, he vowed to just take it in stride.

Slowly making her way to the dressing room, the goddess catches sight of something out of her periphery, hidden within the piles of tulle-filled dresses. Pondering, she gently pulled it out of the menagerie, feeling the material and assessing the cut of the dress. She walked toward the dressing room with a renewed fervor.

"Just a sec," she said, pulling the curtain closed as she began to fumble out of the prior gown.

The group was chatting amongst themselves as the balancer exited the dressing room, catching the eye of her mother sitting on the couch.

"Oh, honey…"

Turning around, the group awed at her, the destroyer last to turn as his breath caught in his chest.

The gown was fit and flare in cut, shrouded in a lace overlay with a silver embroidery that enveloped the bodice and fitted sleeves while gracing the gown's trim. The train was shorter than the others, trailing just three or four feet behind her. The sparse placing of rhinestones glistened when she moved, twinkling delicately in the shop's overhead lights.

Taking a shy twirl around, the goddess asked the awaiting crowd, "So, what do ya think?"

After the group offered up their praises, stating how the dress complemented her figure and how radiant she looked in the ensemble. The group slowly turned to Beerus, becoming silent as they await his assessment.

"I-I," he stammered out, shaking his head while collecting his composure. Taking a few steps towards her, the destroyer stopped before circling around her while taking it all in. The goddess narrowed her eyes, sparring a grin as she noticed the playful look in his eyes.

"To hell with what I said earlier about stars dimming. This," he says, taking her hand while twirling her, causing her to giggle, "brings the whole galaxy to shame. You look-" he paused, leaving Corsa to finish the sentence.

"Like a bride?"

"I was going for ethereal, but sure."

Noticing that they had an audience, the ladies awing at the display of affection, Beerus let out a cough, resuming his typical demeanor.

"Well, now that that's dealt with, I suggest we keep moving. Bulma, I believe you promised us a feast if we behaved ourselves."

The scientist rolled her eyes, smiling as she rose from her seat, "Yeah, yeah. Just one last thing…"

The ladies looked to the goddess, her mother taking a few steps toward her.

"So how bout it kid? This the one?"

Looking at herself in the mirror, she turned back and gave a light nod, blushing as the ladies loudly celebrated.

The shop's bell rang out by a shope employee, swiftly followed by an offering of drinks to the jovial group.

The goddess politely declined the champagne, trying her best to hide the slight wave of nausea that overtook her at the smell of the alcohol. Her fleeting look was not missed by the destroyer. Her excuse readily accepted, everyone joined in on the merriment before taking their leave from the dress shop. Trailing behind the group, the deities and their attendant walked in silence, taking in the evening breeze as the crisp fall leaves danced around them, the streetlights slowly switching on to light their path.

Nearing the Capsule Corp. complex, Beerus stopped Corsa, his concerns unable to be ignored any longer. Whis takes note while passing them, continuing to walk into the now boisterous home, looking forward to the offered cuisines.

"You've been acting weird," he said flatly.

"To be honest, I've been feeling weird," the goddess admits, twirling a stray piece of hair. Due to her eyes, she knew she couldn't lie or delay the truth for much longer, her golden orbs sure to give her away.

The balancer debated silently, bobbing her head from one side to the other before finally stating, " Alright there is something."

"Called it."

"It's just…that I can't tell you, not yet anyway…"

The god gave his companion a blank stare, allowing her to continue.

"Look, I do have something to tell you, but I need some time to process," she said looking back to him.

Holding her hands up as if in prayer, she assured, "I promise everything is fine, it's just, I need to tell you a certain way so you don't freak out."

"Why would I freak out?" he questioned.

Realizing how she phrased her last words, she flushed, waving her hands erratically, stammering over herself.

"Well, we, I mean I-"

Nervously chuckling, she fills the space between them, giving him a light kiss.

"Just, please. Give me some time?" she asked, eyes silently pleading. The destroyer gave a light exhale, recalling his prior vow to himself.

"Okay."

Lightly pushing him away, the goddess started with, "Now see, I knew you would- wait, what?"

Chuckling, the destroyer pulled her back to him, giving her an uncharacteristic embrace.

"I said okay. Didn't you hear me the first time?"

Beerus gave a light kiss upon her forehead, smiling as he said, "I trust you'll tell me in your own time. Whatever it is, we'll take care of it together." Releasing her, he raised up his hands as he assured, "I promise I'll do my best not to 'freak out,'" giving quotation marks in the air.

Giving a forced smile, Corsa nodded and joined the destroyer in their short remaining walk to the complex, entering the domicile hand in hand.

Rummaging through the various toiletries under the sink, Corsa finally found what she was looking for. Thankfully, there was one left.

After chatting and comingling with the large group who had decided to join in on the gathering, she had excused herself to go to the restroom, her secret mission ready to be implemented.

The goddess knelt in front of the pregnancy test, resting it on the side of the bathtub. Seconds felt like minutes as she waited on the digital indicator, it's progress bar mocking her with its blinking. Though she felt silly, since Whis had already confirmed it, part of her mind just wanted to see it for herself, her denial finally able to be put to rest. Considering that other mortal made devices hadn't been able to detect or would malfunction due to her divinity, she held up some hope that the test would fare better.

Pacing, a whirlwind of thoughts went through her mind, a feeling of dread forming at how complicated things could get for the couple when the news was out.

'Don't worry about that now, Corsa. Just focus on the now,' she thought.

Taking a deep breath, she sat down on the floor, resting her head against the sink's cabinet.

'Just focus on the now.'

The goddess was jerked from her ruminations with a knock at the door.

"Hey, is anyone in there?"

"Um, just a sec!"

Panicking, Corsa sprinted to the test, swiftly sticking the item in her skirt's pocket.

Opening the door, the balancer excused herself as she made her way to her old bedroom down the hall.

The balancer stopped when she saw two people enter the hallway, tensing as they greeted her.

"Yo Corsa!" Krillin said, walking alongside 18.

"Oh uh, hi guys," she greeted, the item in her pocket taking up most of her attention. It took everything she had to act normally.

"You're missed out there," 18 stated, adding, "Your mom's been telling us stories on you."

Chuckling lightly, the goddess replied, "Oh I bet, well that's a writer for you. Well, I'll see you guys out there, just got to-"

"And where do you think you're going?"

The balancer paused, turning to see Vegeta by the exit down the hall from the trio, his normally gruff affect difficult to decipher.

"Who, me? Oh, I was going to my room for a few. Just…getting so tired," she offered, yawning partway through her statement.

"Beerus is outside wondering where you went, said he hasn't seen you in a while."

Narrowing her eyes at him, Corsa exclaimed, "Well sorry for not keeping everyone updated. Geez, can't a girl pee and take a nap?!"

The sayain prince paused for a moment before stating, "Well, keep it short. If I must endure this party, so do you," returning outside.

Giving a sigh of relief, Corsa made her way to her destination, feelings of extreme fatigue suddenly overtaking her.

'Well, come to think of it, a nap sounds really good right now,' thinking her final thought as she flopped down onto the bed.

Waking with a start, the balancer jolted up to look at the clock, an hour passing in her slumber.

"Shit," she said, slightly surprised that the destroyer hadn't barged in on her yet.

Sitting on the side of the bed, Corsa pulled the device from her pocket, absorbing the information it had to offer.

Pregnant.

'Well, that settles that,' she thought, continuing to stare at the device. She was startled when someone shoved the door open with great vigor, causing the test to fly up in the air.

Beerus waltzed in, a cold beer in his hand.

"So this is where you've been hid-"

Plink*

The goddess watched in horror as the test dove into the drink, making a light splash onto the marble floor.

Silence fell between them, the god slowly retrieving what fell into his beverage.

"What the? Is this what you've been doing? Hiding snacks from me?" he asked, tilting his head back while opening his mouth to deposit what he thought was a tiny morsel.

"Ew! Don't eat that! What the hell is wrong with you?!" Corsa yelled, the display causing her stomach to roll.

"Hm? Than what, pray tell, is this?" he questioned, holding the item above him by the tip of two claws, examining it inquisitively.

Huffing at him, the balancer slumped her shoulders, wiping a hand over her face.

" That's, the thing I was needing to tell you…" she trailed off, beginning to twirl a strand of hair as he glanced over.

"And that is?" he asked, joining her on the side of the bed, seeing whatever she had to say obviously held some weight.

"That," she began, "is a pregnancy test."

"Okay…," he said, examining the digital indicator further, taking in the message.

"It says, wait, what? Seriously?!" he exclaimed, looking at her wide-eyed.

Giving a light nod, she turned away from him, stray tears betraying her as they fell onto the bedding.

"Hey," he said, leaning over as he reached for her shoulder, gently turning her to face him.

"Why the tears?" he asked, the goddess breaking out into sobs.

"Whoa, whoa, hey, stop that," he said, leaning over to meet her eyes at her level.

Cupping her face, the destroyer inquired, eyes set with worry, "What's wrong?"

Sniffling, the goddess wiped the tears away while saying, "I thought, I thought, you'd be mad."

The god startled before throwing his arms around her.

"No, no, I'm, I'm not mad," he assured, adding, "Just, surprised is all. I, I didn't think it was possible."

Calming herself, the balancer gave another swipe to her face, stating, "Yeah, that's what Whis said too."

"Hello, am I interrupting something?"

The pair turned over to the door, their attendant standing at the threshold.

Taking in the scene before him, the angel stated in an assuming tone, "I'm guessing she told you."

"Yes, we- wait," he paused, pointing at the attendant, before exclaiming, " You knew about this before I did?!"

Corsa gently shoved him, a light irritation gracing her features.

"Oh, get over it. He found out when he followed me to the bathroom."

Glancing over at the angel, Beerus stated, "Oh, that reminds me. I forgot to mention something. You know, you really shouldn't follow the opposite sex into the bathroom. It's creepy."

The attendant slowly approached the bed, peering down at the couple.

"Apologies, I'll keep that in mind for next time."

Adjusting to rest herself on her legs, the goddess gave a determined look, smiling in defiance of her anxiety.

"Well, you said we'd take this on together," she said, kneeling as she leaned over to her fiancé, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Yeah, yeah," he said absentmindedly, staring a hole into the ground.

Tilting her head, she leaned over further, taking his face into her hands.

"Hey, you know I love you, right?"

The god blinked at the statement, bringing him back to the present.

"I know," he offered, taking in the lavender hue of her eyes.

"We got this, okay? We'll figure it out, I promise."

Giving a gentle smile, the god pulled her closer, wrapping her in a loose hug. The goddess eventually released herself, placing her hands behind her head, closing her eyes.

"Besides, it's just one baby. How bad could it be?"

"Um, hold that thought."

The goddess opened her eyes, the couple looking toward the source of the voice. The pair saw the attendant, holding his staff before him in quiet contemplation.

"Whis?"

Peering into the luminous orb, he leaned back slightly, his eyes momentarily widening.

"Oh, would you look at that."

The pair glanced up at the attendant, worry clear on both of their faces.

"What?" they asked in unison.

"Hmm. It appears to me that there will be two."

Corsa's and Beerus' eyes went wide, the balancer the first to find her words.

"Uh, wanna run that by us again?"

The attendant chuckled, giving a warm smile as he rephrased.

"Twins. Lady Corsa will be having twins."

"Oh…okay, that's what I thought you said," Corsa breathed out, flopping herself back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling fan twirling above.

Feeling Beerus slowly rise from the bed, both balancer and attendant looked over, anxiety rising within the young deity.

"Um, Beerus? You okay there?"

Hearing a slowly building chuckle, the god began to massage his temples, finding the stressful situation suddenly so funny. 'Twins,' his mind reeled at the thought.

"Lord?" Whis asked, the other divine beings giving a perplexed look to one another.

"Twins," they heard, the word trailing off before hearing a loud thud as something heavy hit the floor.

Looking over the bed while the attendant stood over the comatose destroyer, the goddess grimaced as she saw her intended, his head imbedding cracks within the floor.

Corsa sighed, exasperated at the sight of him.

"Well, guess that's his version of not freaking out…"
