People were hustling to get out of Hangar 2-B when its forcefields were blown away. Before the emergency shields could be engaged, The First Order shuttle came soaring in. It landed with a menacing hiss as the emergency shielding kicked in.
Lieutenant Rose got a call as she was packing up on the bridge. "Yes." She responded. It was one of her officers. "Lieutenant, an enemy ship has breached Hangar 2-B, a security team has been sent in to respond." He reported. Rose's eyes widened. "Tell them to disengage, now! Get them out of there!" she ordered, trying to keep her cool. The officer nodded. "Yes, Lieutenant. One moment." He said. Thirty seconds passed before he called again. "It seems we're unable to reach them, something is jamming their comms." He reported. A pit formed in Rose's gut. "Damn, keep trying!" she cursed. She hung up and contacted Luke. "Master Skywalker, a security team was sent in response to the shuttle, but we've lost contact with them." she said with urgency. Luke nodded. "I'll get there as fast as I can." He said.
The security team entered the hangar and took positions behind supply crates and door frames, aiming their weaponry at the motionless ship. The security captain made a signal with his hand, and out from behind came two security guards with rocket launchers. He gave the signal to fire, and the two unleashed their payload. They screamed towards their target, only to veer off ninety degrees in either direction right before they hit their mark. They exploded on the ceiling, bringing some of the scaffolding of the hangar crashing down. The entire security stood in shock and awe, but the captain was quick to recover his wits. "Again!" he ordered. The two rocket guards reloaded their weapons as the shuttle slowly lowered its gangplank. The rockets fired before the plank fully unfolded, but just as they looked as though they were about to hit, they screeched to a halt just short of their target, floating ominously in the air. A few of the security guards lost their composure. The hovering rockets spun themselves around and aimed themselves back at the security team. "Down!" the captain yelled with a panicked ferocity. Everyone hit the deck as the rockets zipped forward, shot overhead of the security team, and exploded on impact just above the hangar doors, collapsing the entrance behind them. By the time the security team had recovered from the blast, Torva-Messor Ren stood just in front of the shuttle, unmoving. The security captain didn't hesitate. "Open fire!" he shouted. By the time the blaster-bolts were flying, the Knight of Ren had already propped up a piece of debris from the ceiling and was using them for cover. The security team moved to flank him, but it was then that Nacht and Sinlos Ren made their move. They swept in from the left of the hangar, cutting down the crew left and right. Nacht with his scythe, and Vatra with his cleaver. The team became scrambled. The captain attempted to regain control of the situation but was lifted into the air by Ma'el Ren, slung towards him, and was split in two by his blade. The remaining security guards scrambled towards the exit that led to the adjacent hangar but were blocked off by Abgrund and Sinlos Ren. Out of desperation, the guards attempted to blast their way through, only to have their weapons flung from their hands on their own, sent scattering across the other side of the hangar. Terrified, helpless, and out of options, the remaining survivors dropped to their knees. One looked around anxiously, dreading what fate was awaiting them. One tried to plead, to might spare them their comrades fates. One simply hurdled into the fetal position and covered his ears, weeping, accepting his end. The Knights of Ren slowly stalked forward, savoring their prey's intoxicating fear.
Luke finally arrived at the entrance to Hangar 2-B only to find it a smoldering ruin. Fearing the worst at the sign of the wreckage, he took a deep breath and held out his left hand. Slowly but surely, the debris began to part way, making a path into the hangar. Luke made his way inside.
In the hangar, Luke was greeted with a fiery graveyard. Destruction, bodies, and flames engulfed the entire hangar. Save for the shuttle at the edge of the hangar doors, and the six knights were aligned on either side of the gangplank. As Luke slowly made his advance, another was making his descent from his shuttle. Kylo Ren himself took his time in joining his Knights of Ren. The two opposing factions stopped a fair distance from one another. Kylo was the first to break the silence. "Hello, dear Uncle." He said in a mocking tone. Luke swept his sight over all his foes. "Myn, Jado, Vital, Kai, Reina, Hela...Ben. It's so nice to see all of you again." he said. Kylo stepped forward. "There's nothing to interfere this time. No distractions, no assistance. Just you, and us. Now... are you prepared to atone for the consequences your actions have wrought?" he said, feeding the rage in his heart. Luke was unfazed. "Are you?" he responded.
The battle outside was raging on. One of The First Order's dreadnought's was smashing apart the fleet led by General Calrissian. Poe's X-Wing soared across the battlefield. "We've gotta take out those dreadnaughts or else we don't stand a chance!" Poe shouted as he was evading laser fire from the other fighters. BB-8 kept alerting him and Finn to any enemy fighters that were in range. Poe headed for the dreadnought attacking Lando's fleet. On the way, three enemy fighters attempted to intercept them. Poe blasted away two of them with the forward cannons, and the last fighter was taken care of by Finn with the rear ones. As they approached the dreadnought, another handful of fighters swooped in to pursue them. Finn was able to only shoot down two, but adequately held off the rest. As soon as they got in range of the dreadnought, its turbo lasers opened fire on them. Poe performed evasive maneuvers and returned fire, destroying two of the dreadnoughts turbo lasers. Finn managed to snag another enemy fighter from their tail. Poe readied to make his attack run. "How do we destroy this thing?" he asked Finn. "If we take out the bridge, that's sure to stop it!" Finn shouted back. Poe engaged his engines and plotted his course to the dreadnought's bridge, evading laser fire along the way. After a flurry of rounds, Finn shot down two more fighters. BB-8 commended him on his aim. "Thanks! I think I'm getting used to her!" he said. BB-8 chirped happily. Poe bobbed and weaved, evaded and swerved, rolled side to side until finally, they were in range of the bridge. Poe fired off torpedoes directly on target. Unfortunately, they detonated against the shields, the bridge remaining undamaged. "Damn!" Poe pulled off from his run. "We don't have enough firepower to bring down those shields!" he said with frustration. He opened a comm-link to The Raddus.
One of the bridge crew turned to Leia. "General! Commander Dameron is requesting heavy fire support!" he reported. At the same time, three other starships were requesting the aid of The Raddus, all the while they were dealing with one of The First Order's lead vessels. Leia kept a level head. "Call upon our support units to assist in our defensive against The Finalizer, direct our squadron to assist the closest available starship!" she turned to the other bridge crewman. "Inform Commander Dameron to assist. If he wants his fire support, then he needs to give our boys some breathing room!" she ordered.
Poe received the message and nodded. He turned towards Finn. "Our allies are gonna need some help before they can provide support." He said as he made his way towards the bulk of the firefight. He couldn't help but observe the dreadnought one final time. "You don't suppose we could land in their hangar and cripple them from within?" he asked Finn. He shook his head. "Not unless you have a death wish." He responded. Poe sighed. "Damn. Alright, beggars can't be choosers I guess." He conceded as he piloted their starfighter towards the fight.
