My Date is A Mermaid
As Danny arrived home, his parents noticed an oddly intrigued smile on his face.
"How was this one, Son?" Jack asks.
"Asuka was awesome!" Danny went excitedly as he headed upstairs.
"Asuka? With a name like that, I can assume she's Japanese." Maddie guessed.
"You'd win that bet." Danny said as he couldn't help but smile as widely as he could.
As Danny went, Jack kicked his legs up and sat back on the couch.
"That's my boy. I can't wait to tell Vladdie about this! After I spend another three hours talking about ghosts and the lovely life I live with my family!" He went.
"That sounds fun." Danny said, knowing Vlad might internally hate what he's going through as he went through the door. It was then he heard his phone ring and answered. "Hello?"
"Dude… is what I heard true?" Tucker asks with an urgency in his tone.
"... yes, it's true." Danny said.
"It is?!" Tucker asks.
"Yeah… Godzilla is gonna fight Gamera…" Danny said in a tone that was clearly sarcasm. "You have to be more specific than that, dude."
"I heard from Mikey that Dash and his goons went straight to the hospital to have themselves treated, and it looks like most of them gotta stay indoors for a few days. Said a tall Japanese girl in blue did that to them, and that you were with her. Were you with Asuka?! I told you to steer clear of her!" Tucker went with a terrified tone in his voice.
"First off… that's not a name I hear on a daily basis, I had no idea how it was spelled." Danny responded flatly.
"Fair…" Tucker admits his fault in not telling him.
"Second… What were you so scared of? She's… awesome!" Danny went. There was a long pause of silence. "Tucker?"
"Seriously?! But she's buff, taller, stronger than a normal human and probably a better fighter than Danny Phantom!" Tucker went as he listed off the things that scared him about her.
"Exactly!" Danny went as he couldn't help but think back to his date with her. "What a woman…"
"Weirdo…" Tucker complained before taking a breath. "Anyway, my date was a girl named Maya, at least I think that was her name."
"Oh?" Danny asks.
"Yeah. It was neat. She said she was a psychic who channels ghosts. I was gonna question it… but with the lives we live, I think I was better off believing her." Tucker said.
"Probably a good call." Danny said.
"Anyway, she was a lot older but she acted younger. She's still a fun one. I'm gonna rank her high." Tucker said.
"Neat." Danny said.
"Oh? You're mentioning one of the girls you almost put in here as Tucker's date? Why pick the super unlucky one?" 61394 asked.
"Well, I almost went with Alice, who is basically Terry Bogard's Sakura from Fatal Fury, but I wasn't sure how well Tucker would handle a fighter like her." Neo said.
"I guess Tucker can't handle fighters." BCFW said as he noticed how much smaller the room was. "Where are the Warners?"
"They bailed, they didn't care who the next girl was." Deadpool said.
"And wh-" NeoMark started.
"Won a bet we made where the last new girl had something in common with Cleo. Kind of clear by the title. He's off to deposit in the bank." Deadpool said.
"So… a mermaid? I'm curious." FP11 said as she scratched her chin. "I remember when I asked for a mermaid character, my options were kinda limited and I chose an H2O character, Cleo, since I was familiar with her and I didn't think Ariel could work since she is technically from another era. So, who did you choose Neo?"
"Hold that thought until we meet her." NeoMark said.
Danny finished up the call and gave Asuka her score.

He'd rank higher, but her being much older, though not as old as Lapis, and the language barrier might have played a big issue. Still, he didn't see anything wrong with her and clearly isn't intimidated by her one bit, which she found endearing.

Danny said with some interest as he looked up where he'd meet her, groaning at the address. "Another trip near the water? I'm probably fighting a sea monster after all…"
"He's gonna fight a sea monster, isn't he?" Luiz4200 asks as he thought about it. "Actually, I don't mind if he does but I hope the monster gives Dash a good scare first."
"He definitely got the face off, something from the sea, but it's going to be worse than the sea monster." PFN said with a laugh.
"I hope it's Yellowtail and we can eat it." 61394 said.
"Let's see what happens." FP11 said before noticing 61394 was looking at her. "Regarding the date, not what you plan to eat. Personally, I'm not craving seafood, more like some Italian food. Seeing as… okay, now I'm hungry. Got another meatball sub or a burger?"
"Here you go, Boss." 61394 gave it to her.
Morning
Danny Phantom flew as fast as he could, going to the location he was to meet this Moon Goddess girl.
Let's see… He thought to himself. Will she be the tall kind of hot like Lita, Bloom or Asuka? Or the same size and pretty Violet and Kula? Will she be a fighter like Kim, someone with powers to fight evil like Marinette or maybe normal like Melissa? I've met so many different kinds of girls that nothing's off the table at this point…
That's when, near the water, his ghost sense went off. Turning his head, he saw something coming out of the water, which brought about screams and panic from people.
A 30 foot tall hammerhead shark monster with arms and legs with razor sharp claws, snarling with extreme ferocity.
"And there's the sea monster… Let's finish this fast! I'm late as is!" Danny said as he flew into the air and was now face to face with the sea monster. "Okay, let's chit chat. What's the story?" Danny demanded. The shark sea monster roared at him and tried to attack but Danny managed to dodge it. "Not a talker. Got it..." Danny said, eyes glowing green.
The Shark beast lunged, trying to bite Danny, but he avoided it by going up above its head. He ax-kicked it in the back.
In response, the shark moved its head, hitting him with one of its stalks. Danny is sent flying backwards before managing to stop in the air. He fired bolts of ghostly energy from his hand, hitting near the eyes.
The Shark snarled as it tried to grab him, but Danny avoided it with quick zips from legs to right.
Seeing an opening, Danny kicked one of the eyes of the monster, making it step back.
"Back off, sushi breath!" Danny quipped.
That's when the shark monster looked offended now for some reason.
"Hurtful stereotype that we eat only raw fish!" The hammerhead bared his teeth at him, but his voice is what caught Danny's attention.
"You can talk?" He asks.
"No, I mime." The shark monster snarked.
"Oh… so… if you talk, then you listen?" Danny asks.
"Why would I listen when I can just bite your head off?!" The Hammerhead questioned before Danny suddenly leaned on the middle portion of his head.
"Listen, Hammy? Can I call you Hammy?" Danny asks casually.
"No." The Shark said.
"Hammy…" Danny went on.
"I got a problem/…and you're ignoring what I said…" Danny and the shark said in unison.
"Thing is… I got a blind date waiting for me about… 10 miles away from here… and you're causing trouble. So… for this entire month, rare chances of me meeting really great girls are suddenly spliced with attacks of mostly ghost animals…" Danny went on, ignoring the growls and dead eyes from the shark. "And I'll be honest… really tired of being attacked by ugly monsters that looked as if nature made a horrible mistake…" He noticed the insulted look in the shark's eyes. "Uh… no offense."
"Offense greatly taken!" The shark snarled his many rows of teeth.
"Fair enough…" Danny waved his hand dismissively at this. "So… any chance we can… I don't know… postpone this for like… after sunset? I promise that it'll be worth it."
"Uh… no." The shark went before trying to bite Danny, who pulled back in time.
"Well…" Danny groaned. "I asked nicely…"
With that, he flew towards the shark, who bit down and closed his teeth around Danny.
The Shark grinned in victory before he felt a cold sensation. His grin became a toothy frown as ice formed, ice that Danny broke through and left him toothless.
"NO! I JUSS GREW DEM BACK!" The shark cried out without teeth before Danny kneed him in the face.
"Let's wrap this up…" Danny said as he aimed the Thermos and captured the shark, starting with the tail.
"Oh, come on!" The shark cried out in anger before being contained.
Danny sealed the Thermos and decided to hurry up.
Please be the last sea monster… please be the last sea monster… He thought.
He finally made it to where he was to meet this girl, a local aquarium.
Finding a spot to morph, he put on the sticker and went looking for her. That's when he saw her
A bubbly girl with pink hair and eyes walking towards him. Her warm smile giggled as she waved him over to her in her fashionable outfit.
With a nod, he approached her.
"Moon Goddess?" He asks
Turning her head, she adopted an extremely cute smile.
"Yup! That's me! D-Fenton?" She asks.
"It's Danny." Danny said politely. "And you?"
"Silly…" She said with a slight tilt of her head. "It's me! Lunar Edomae!"
"... who?" Danny asks.
There was a slight twitch on the corner of her mouth before her smile returned. For a moment, a blood vessel showed on her forehead.
"You know? The famous idol? Japan's best singer?" She asks.
"... I don't really listen to musicians from Japan outside of undubbed audio. I listen to Dumpty Humpty, Starship, and Carlos Santana tracks." Danny admits.
Lunar's smile seemed to crack like a mirror. However, her bubbly face did not change as it turned cutesy with a tilt of her head.
"Well… I guess you don't know how lucky you are…" She said with an odd tone in her voice.
Danny nodded, trying not to be rude, before recalling something.
"Oh, these are for you…" He offered the flowers.
Lunar admired them, as far as he knew, but her eyes were blocked from his vision.
"This is all he provides us? How pathetic is he?" A less cute voice whispered from her.
"Huh?" Danny went.
"Thanks!" Lunar went, pulling the flowers down as she took Danny's arm. "Let's go!"
"Oh…" Danny went with an eyebrow raised. "Then we sh-"
"This way!" Lunar insisted, pulling him in one direction towards the aquarium.
Danny raised an eyebrow at this, questioning just what he's in for.
"And the FINAL new girl. Lunar Edomae from My Bride is A Mermaid!" NeoMark said.
"Who? I'm not really familiar with that series." FP11 admitted.
"I haven't seen her in years." BCFW tilted his head on a single finger. "However, wasn't she one of the main rivals in the series?"
"She was, but unlike most love triangles, she accepted that the main couple loved each other and moved on." 61394 said while eating a cheese omelet and a plate of pancakes. "The last chapter made me hungry."
"Thank you for suggesting this anime, BTW." NeoMark said.
"You're welcome…" Both 61394 and BCF said in unison.
"Granted, I suggested Akeno." BCF said. "Mainly because she seemed one of the more distant characters in terms of the love…I'm gonna say… web. Not gonna look back into things. Plus, from what I remember, she likes warrior types."
"And I suggested Mawari. I thought a cop's daughter would have chemistry with a teen superhero." 61394 said
"Hmm… I definitely remember this show and had one of the funniest jokes because of Luna's father." PFN said.
"I don't remember ever hearing about this series before." Luiz4200 said.
"You mentioned you almost put characters from the last series you picked in the runners up but didn't want to spoil who it was, right? So, can you explain more about that?" FP11 asks.
"So… My Bride is a Mermaid is a comedy anime about a boy named Nagasumi who is saved by a mermaid named Sun. Also, her dad's with the Yakuza." NeoMark said.
"The criminal organization or… isn't there a game named that?" FP11 asks curiously.
"The former." NeoMark said.
"So, no Kazuma Kiryu? Darn…" Deadpool went.
"It's called Like A Dragon, which is its name in Japan." NeoMark said. "Anyway… due to a mermaid law, any mermaid seen by a human must be put to death… but Sun's father, Gozoboro Seto, isn't willing to kill his only child, so he tries to kill Nagasumi… until his wife, Ren, the REAL head of the family, says there's a way to avoid killing… Nagasumi must marry Sun. Nagasumi agrees as he and Sun start to fall for each other during the series… with her dad finding any excuse he can to kill him. So much so that he and his gang become teachers at his school so that he can keep an eye on his daughter as she goes to live with Nagasumi."
"Okay… but…where does Lunar fit in? Also… wouldn't trying to kill him break the mermaid code or something?" FP11 asks.
"Lunar is an old friend of Sun's who kind of hates her. She's a pop idol and, yes, her dad's a Yakuza too." NeoMark said.
"Heads up, he dresses like the Terminator—Arnold to be precise." BCFW started. "From what I remember, Sun's father tries to kill Nagasumi, but can't because of his wife. Eventually, other mermaids, like Luna, get involved."
"She decides she wants to steal Nagasumi when she finds out about their relationship… Since Nagasumi is a nice guy, she does fall for him, though stops pursuing him when she sees that Sen and Nagasumi truly love each other…" 61394 said as he took a bite of yellowtail.
"Seafood? Perfect timing. I had a taste for shrimp." PFN said.
"So, why not use Akeno or Mawari?" Luiz4200 asked.
"Mawari Zenigata was someone I did want to use… partially because her English voice, Caitlin Glass, is a favorite of mine, and because her dedication to being a policewoman despite being more of a hall monitor could make for some fun bits. That said… she's from a series called My Bride is A Mermaid. Not using a mermaid is like using a girl from Winx Club for a date… and using NO ONE from the actual Winx Club." NeoMark said.
"That's a good point. I'm sure Mawari could have been interesting even if I am still unfamiliar with the character, though it'd be smarter to use a mermaid." FP11 said. "And this Akeno?"
"Okay… we're using the anime version of her… not gonna get into how different it is from the manga, but she's technically a villain in the anime, technically… but she does redeem herself. I like her… but I realized I played it a bit safe with the last bad date. Star Butterfly broke things off with Danny amicably, and I replaced Katie with a good girl. I feel… we should have at least one more date that didn't go so well." NeoMark said.
"Fun fact, she's named after Mai Shiranui! The lady you said no to even a cameo!" Deadpool shouted suddenly, annoying his friends..
"You're still on that, I see… Suddenly, I prefer complaining about no chimichangas…" FP11 rolled her eyes before the merc started shouting again.
"Breaking News!" Deadpool went. "Check out her trailer for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves! She has a new, somewhat more Smash Bros friendly outfit."
"Shilling for SNK now, I see…" FP11 said.
"She went from dressed like being in a kimono version of a bikini to now biker girl." 61394 said, seeing it for himself.
"She's too good for Andy Bogard… he'd never appreciate her…" Deadpool whispered as he had cartoonish hearts over his head.
"Anyway… I did consider Akeno… but I felt Lunar would have provided more humor. It's a comedy, after all." NeoMark said.
"Not to mention you're free to choose the girls Danny dates." BCFW laid down on the ground with his hands behind his head. "Well… Danny's gonna have a hard time, especially if mermaid law comes into play."
"I know this is going to be a really not so great date for Danny." PFN said.
"I get the feeling she's nothing like Cleo… I guess." Luiz4200 said.
"So… what is it about Lunar that's gonna make things funny? And why chose her specifically?" FP11 said.
"Wait and see!" NeoMark and Deadpool went in unison.
"HA!" Deadpool went before gesturing to the other guys. "I TOLD YOU!"
"Ugh…" PFN went as he pulled out some money. "Fudge!"
"You're so predictable… I told you he'd say that PF." 61394 said as he handed over an all you can eat chimichanga card.
"Uh… sorry?" NeoMark went with a shrug. "So… back to the story."
Inside the aquarium, the two floors had people, mostly couples, enjoying the exhibits. Four pairs were at the exhibit of sharks, three were in the herpetology exhibit, at least three more were watching the manatees.
Danny looked around, a bit eager to see what before Lunar pulled his arm.
"Come on, Davey. This way." She said cutely.
"It's Danny." He responded with an eyebrow raised.
"Oh? Silly me." She said, though her tone seemed a bit fake at that moment. "This way, Danny." She pulled.
Danny noticed how oddly inhuman the strength of her pull was, almost as if a warning she would hurt him if he said no.
"Uh… okay." He said, feeling unsure.
Lunar paid no mind to this as she took notice of two people.
Making sure Danny didn't see it, she flashed a somewhat nasty grin secretly before hiding it with a cute smile.
"Sun! Nagasumi!" She went with a happy wave.
The two noticed her, both looking to each other before to Danny's date.
"Oh… Lunar." The boy, Nagasumi, said with an unsure tone.
"Oh? Is this the boy you said you wanted to join us today?" The girl, Sun, asks.
"Huh?" Danny went.
"Yup, that's him." Lunar said. "Dewey is the late-"
"Danny." Danny corrected her.
"That's what I said." Lunar said, her tone slightly less cute a moment. "Danny is the latest boy in that dating service."
"Let's hope it lasts more than 10 minutes…" Nagasumi whispered to Sun.
A blood vessel seemed to pop as Lunar's grip on Danny's arm seemed to strengthen, something he noticed.
"You can… let go of me now." Danny with gritted teeth.
"Whateve-I mean! Of course…" Lunar went, letting him go.
Danny massaged his arm, feeling a strange inhumanness to her grip.
"Even Asuka didn't hit me this hard when we sparred…" Danny muttered quietly.
"So…" Nagasumi cleared his throat. "I'm Nagasumi Michisio, we're from Japan. And this is my bri- I mean… my girlfriend, Sun Seto."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Danny." Sun said politely with a bow.
"At least she got my name right and she's spent less time with me…" Danny muttered under his breath before smiling at them. "Pleasure to meet more people from Japan thanks to this dating service."
"Oh, you've met more?" Nagasumi asks.
"Yeah." Danny said. "We-"
"Anyway!" Lunar suddenly went, still acting cutesy despite rudely cutting him off. "What's on the agenda? I didn't sign up for a couple's day at this aquarium for nothing, right?"
"Couple's day?" Danny asks.
"Yeah. You get half off if you come on a date, y'see?" Sun pointed to the banner that was above the door, something Danny just noticed now.
"How'd I miss that?" He wondered.
"How indeed…" Lunar was heard grumbling angrily, something that made Danny turn his head, causing her to adopt a cheerful expression again. "ANYWAY! Let's have some fun!"
Lunar then wrapped her arms around the necks of Nagasumi and Sun, walking them away from Danny as he contemplated if he was just here so she could get a discount .
"Okay… those two bothered to get to know me more than she did, and she's the one I'm here on a date with. What's up with her attitude ? And why is she acting like that?" He asks himself as he starts to follow them.
As he did, he didn't see that a good few people were not there to enjoy the aquarium, but to observe the double date.
"If anything happens to my little girl…" A gruff man's voice said from the second floor.
"Boss…" A man with sunglasses and an afro approached him. "I don't think this is a good idea…"
"Can I eat him?" Another man, with messy blonde hair and a tracksuit, asks.
"If another punk finds out about Sun, I'll kill 'em. We're just lucky so far no one's seen it. Besides, Edomae is doing the same with his daughter, why should I keep an eye on her?!" The gruff man asks.
"I can think of a good reason…" A woman's voice said, causing the three to grow pale in fear.
"Oh no…" The gruff man said.
"Oooooohhhhh!" Those familiar with this anime went in anticipation.
FP11 and Luiz4200 shared a confused look with each other.
"What are they amazed about?" FP11 asks.
"I have no clue…" Luiz4200 shrugs.
"We're not amazed, we're excited." NeoMark said.
"You'll see what's going to happen." PFN said.
"This is gonna be fun." BCFW said with a wicked grin, rubbing his hands together.
"Anyone else reminded of Danny and Angelica's blind date?" 61394 asked
"I'm surprised you remember Danny and Angelica. You haven't updated that story all year long." Deadpool snarked.
"How long have you been waiting to use that one?" Number boy asked.
"November 8th, 2023." Deadpool answered.
At the coral reef exhibit, Nagasumi and Sun were together, talking.
Danny was with Lunar, who looked a bit disinterested in being there. He wanted to get to the bottom of this strange behavior of hers.
"Say, Lunar?" Danny asked.
"What?" She snapped before recalling her tone and clearing her throat. "I mean… yes?"
"So… it's been like 20 minutes and we barely spoke. Shouldn't we get to know each other?" Danny asks.
"Oh… right." Lunar said, standing in a posture that was trying to look sweet, yet there was something that seemed hollow about it. "Well, what would you like to know about me?"
"Well, for starters. Where are you from?" Danny asks.
"Well… my profile said Kyushu, though I guess it'd be more appropriate to say I grew up near the Seto Inland Sea. I live with Nagasumi and his fami- I mean, I live in the same neighborhood as Nagasumi and his family." Lunar said.
"Oh? What do you do for fun?" Danny asks.
"Getting people to adore m- my singing. Yes. I am a beloved pop idol in Japan… apparently just Japan…" Lunar's voice lowered to a slight growl for that last part.
"Oh? Uh… okay." Danny said. "Family?"
"Just my dad…" Lunar said, her eyes darting away a moment, as if this were an uncomfortable subject.
"Oh?" Danny went. "So-"
"We're done here. Moving on." Lunar said as she walked along to join Nagasumi and Sun.
Danny was left upset.
"She didn't even ask me anything…" He angrily muttered while watching her go.
He has now grown annoyed with this so-called date of his.
"Well, this date doesn't look like it's gonna end well." FP11 said.
"Just wait and see how well this won't end.." NeoMark said.
"I know that Sun is at least from the Seto Inland Sea, but Lunar? I thought she was from a different family.." 61394 said.
"Well, I don't think they ever specified where she's from, so I just picked Kyushu, as it's one of the islands of Japan at the Inland Sea." NeoMark said.
"A whole 26 episode anime and a beloved manga." 61394 said looking at the audience. "Yeah it's short but it's got mermaids and Neo gave me a hall pass so I used it."
"Oh, that reminds me… Before ANYONE questions on if Lunar breaks a rule… go see my excuse for using Yuki and, to a lesser extent, Violet. Her manga appearances make up for it." NeoMark said to the readers. "Now… let's see things get more downhill."
An hour has passed now.
During this entire time, Lunar has either ignored him, barely talked to him, and stalked her friends. All the while, Lunar had barely broken her happy face. The smile she wore seemed more plastered on than a facial expression, almost creeping out Danny. It was obviously fake, but it was her almost flippant attitude that put him off as he continued the date.
The group was now close to the children's area, where people got to touch animals like stingrays in the water.
Danny approached it, ready to reach in.
"Neat." Danny said as he was about to reach in. "You guys wanna-"
He noticed both Sun and Lunar were several feet away. Creepy curiosity and astonishment erupted on his face as he saw Nagasumi approach.
"Uh, sorry but… those two are… uh…" Nagasumi tried to explain before adopting a nervous smile. "...allergic to salt water fish."
"... huh?" Danny asks. "How does someone get allergic to salt water fish specifically?"
"Uh… poor luck?" Nagasumi nervously responded, clearly unsure of his own answer.
"Dude." Danny suddenly said. "What's her deal?"
"W-What do you mean?" Nagasumi asks.
"She's acting so… off. Like, what I'm seeing isn't how she actually is. Can you tell me what in the heck is going on?" Danny asks.
That's when Lunar approached the two, appearing behind Nagasumi.
"What's going on?" She asks with that same cutesy voice as her hand goes to Nagasumi's back. "We should go somewhere else…"
Nagasumi seemed to stiffen, much to Danny's surprise.
"What a great idea!" Nagasumi said, a smile that seemed to be hiding some kind of discomfort.
Danny couldn't see it, but Lunar grabbed some of Nagasumi's skin, twisting it.
"Or… we could go to a different tank?" Danny suggests. "There's one with turtles. We cou-"
"NO!" Lunar snapped, her eyes widening to almost demonic levels.
Danny raised an eyebrow at this as Lunar, realizing what she just did, pulled back and stammered.
"Can you let me go now?" Nagasumi asks, unable to handle Lunar's abuse to his back anymore.
Lunar pulled back, adopting her smile once more.
"Oops… I'm sorry, but I don't really li-"
"Stop." Danny said flatly.
"Hmm… stop what?" Lunar asks, still keeping that smile.
"Stop… I get it… you're not who you're pretending to be." Danny said.
"Whatever do you-"
"Knock it off." Danny said.
Lunar felt a blood vessel go off as she struggled to keep her act up.
"Whatever do you mean?" She asks, her face looking like it'd crack.
"I'd knock it off." Danny flatly stated. "I've met plenty of cute girls this month… and I can spot when someone's hiding something. Like someone who acts sweet. is pretty, and who uses their looks to get what they want. So, why not just drop the cutesy bit?" Danny's words cause Lunar's smile to start cracking and her blood to boil. "Because you obviously just wanted me around so you're not alone on this day, and you haven't once asked anything about what I want or do in life. So, why not just drop it? Because I'm about ready to turn around and walk home."
"FINE!" Lunar suddenly shouted. "WE DON'T NEED SOME IDIOT LIKE YOU AROUND US ANYWAY! LEAVE US BE YOU-"
Lunar kept shouting, but her voice was muted.
Everyone turned their heads to NeoMark, who held the remote.
"Yeah… I forgot how… sweary this anime is." He admitted.
"As sweary as him?" FP11 gestures to Deadpool.
"PG-13 words. No F-Bombs as far as I can recall…" NeoMark said.
"Ah, so she doesn't say [... YEAH, YOU CAN JUST MAKE IT UP WHAT HE SAYS HERE…] turbobutt! Heh…" Deadpool said.
"Heh… he said turbobutt. Nice one, yeah I haven't seen the show in a while and forgotten about the potty mouths…" 61394 said.
"Honestly, to me, it just means she swears. It's part of her character. I don't see the (Bleeping) problem…" BCFW commented, a sly smile formed in his face as others stared, annoyed at his blatant swear.
"So… is she almost done? It looks like she's still swearing." FP11 said.
"Haven't seen anyone this mad since… wait, I just saw the canceled plans of Crash 5… never mind." NeoMark said.
"Crash? Huh?" FP11 asks.
"The game." NeoMark said before an idea sprung. "Anyone wanna listen to John Denver as she- Oh, never mind! She's almost done."
"John Denver? What?" FP11 asks.
"I'll tell you later…" NeoMark said as he unmute the footage.
"... AND YOU CAN COUNT ON THAT, LOWLY NOTHING!" Lunar shouted, her mouth frothing a bit from all the shouting.
Danny stared in disbelief at this.
"Huh… haven't heard that many dirty words since Thanksgiving with my Aunt Alicia…" Danny responds before shrugging. "Okay… I'm outta here. You're nasty and not that pretty anyway…"
He leaves, his shoulder bumps into her hers as he did so.
Lunar was left there, feeling angered and humiliated by his saying that so casually.
"How DARE he…" She snarled.
Nagasumi and Sun both kept their distance.
"This isn't good. I don't think she's takin' that well.." Sun said.
"No, she's not…" Nagasumi replied.
Danny was at a vending machine, purchasing a bottle of water as he muttered angrily over how his date went from rude to just unpleasant so quickly.
Please, if there is any justice… let me come across Bloom and she too had a terrible date and wants to slum it with me. Or maybe Asuka's free when I get back. Or Kim is dealing with that blue clown and his hot green henchwoman and could use a hand. ANYONE at this point… He thought in anger.
As he did, he heard rather loud footsteps heading in his direction. Turning his head, he saw the source was Lunar, who looked viciously at him with eyes that seemed to be on fire and teeth grinding hard enough to emit sparks.
"You dare talk down to us like that?!" Lunar snarled, with a terrified Nagasumi and Sun behind her.
"Us? I was talking to you, Pinky." Danny rudely stated, making Lunar's mouth foam in anger.
"Exactly! Us!" Lunar pointed at herself.
Danny raised an eyebrow before realizing what she meant.
"Oh… you're talking about the "royal we". Wow… your ego is huge." Danny scoffed.
"Doesn't he get Lunar ain't playin' around?" Sun asks as she clings to Nagasumi.
"Doesn't look like it." Nagasumi shielded her from whatever Lunar will do.
"You got some nerve! Do you know who we are?!" Lunar went as Danny paid more attention to his bottle being released from the vending machine than her. "We are Lunar Edomae! We're the best idol in all of Japan! Don't think you can just act so flippant with us and expect us to- LOOK AT US WHEN WE'RE TALKING TO YOU!" She shouted, recognizing he was ignoring her as he took a sip.
"Yeah, I've seen enough…" Danny stated.
As he mouthed off, she had no idea someone at the dining court watched with sunglasses on, rage filling him.
"This boy will be terminated…" He said quietly.
Danny was slowly turning away when Lunar grabbed him by the shoulder.
"Don't act like you're above us! You look us in the eye as we tell you how stupid you are to dismiss us!" Lunar shouted.
"Yeah… no." Danny said quickly as he took a step forward.
Lunar lost her temper, violently spinning him to face her, not seeing that the bottle of water he had was still open.
"LOOK AT US AS WE-" She then felt something wet touch her knee. She looked down and her face went pale. "Oh no…"
Danny's bottle spilled thanks to what she did, spilling water all over her leg.
"I'd say sorry… but I'm not. That and it was your fault." Danny said as Lunar stepped back, her face suddenly becoming contorted with displeasure. "What?" He asks.
"Oh no…" Nagasumi went before he leapt into the air and attempted a jump kick.
Danny, seeing this, rolled out of the way. Nagasumi ended up hitting the vending machine, causing some bottles of water to break open and leak out.
"Dude! What the heck?!" Danny went. "What was th-" He then heard Lunar yelp as she hit the floor. He saw why. "Uh… what?"
Lunar's lower half had transformed, what was once a pair of legs was now a yellow fishtail, her shoes now discarded on the floor.
"LOOK WHAT YOU DID!" Lunar shouted, pointing angrily at Danny. "And you!" She pointed at Nagasumi. "You splashed even more water on us!"
"You're the one who made him spill!" Nagasumi yelled back at her.
"Nagasumi!" Sun was heard calling out to him.
Danny turned his head and, to his surprise, saw Sun's legs under her skirt were replaced with a reddish pink fish tail.
"What's going on?!" He asks.
That's when the fire alarm happened.
"FIRE ALARM! EVERYONE VACATE THE AQUARIUM IMMEDIATELY!" A voice on the intercom went.
Danny watched as people made their way out. He almost considered going before someone stood before him.
"Excuse me, young man…" A handsome man with an Afro wearing a white dress shirt, slacks and sunglasses stood in his path. "I'm afraid I cannot allow you to leave." He said politely but firmly
Danny stepped back, seeing this man and a few more thuggish fellows at his side.
"Who the heck are you?" Danny asks.
"Masa…" Nagasumi went, having this odd lovesick look on his face, much to Sun's displeasure.
"I was hopin' he was over this phase. Looks like he's still goin' through it, y'see…" Sun tells Danny.
"Phase?" Danny asks.
"Young man." Masa spoke. "My boss, Sun's father, and an associate of ours, Lunar's father, would like a word with you…"
"How about leave? Or five, get out of my way?" Danny responded with much anger and impatience.
"I don't think you understand just how much trouble you're in for almost gettin' these two caught…" Masa said, his head tilted forward.
While Danny did feel a bit bad about getting Sun wet, it didn't mean he was going to stay around. Nagasumi put a hand on his shoulder before he could go.
"Don't mess with them, Danny. They're Yakuza!" Nagasumi warned.
"... like the game?" Danny asks.
"If you mean Like A Dragon, worse than that." Nagasumi told him .
Before Danny knew it, some stood before Masa.
"We'd like a word with you…" A gruff man said.
He saw a scarred man wearing a Japanese kimono. At his side was a blonde man in a high collared tracksuit . And on his right was a beautiful woman with short black hair in a pale pink kimono.
"Dad? I told ya not to butt in!" Sun chimed in sounding annoyed.
"Dad?" Danny questioned.
"Excuse me…" Another voice went. "It seems you've seen my daughter transform too…"
Danny turned his attention to a tall and well built man in black with sunglasses and blonde hair with long bangs, standing several feet away from Sun's father.
"Let me guess… 80's movie con in the area? That your chosen costume or did someone already take David from The Lost Boys?" Danny snarked.
Nagasumi and Sun held onto each other, Nagasumi held his girlfriend in his arms like a bride.
"Lunar's papa is not happy you just said that." Sun told him.
"Wait… Lunar's dad?" Danny asks, his eyes darting between father and daughter. "How?"
Lunar's father was about to speak up when Sun's father's cleared his throat.
"Edomae, let Masa handle this." He said.
"Hmph… fine, Gozaboro. But remember, it's my daughter who's his only option…" He muttered.
Gozaboro Seto looked furious to be told that, but his wife cleared her throat, making everyone else pull back in slight fear.
"Let's handle this diplomatically, please…" She said.
"O-Of course." Gozaboro said, his voice laced with fear. "G-Go, Masa…"
"R-Right…" Masa cleared his throat. "Young man… you have just learned mermaids are a thing, right? Well… I'm afraid we merfolk live by a code, a code that matters more since we're Yakuza. Any merfolk that gets seen by a human, well… law states they have to die."
"The human or the mermaid?" Danny questioned flatly. "Either way it's messed up"
"It ain't nothin' personal, it's just that we have a code." Masa said. "Humans have a way of hating that which is different from them even among their own species."
"I can't necessarily disagree." Danny responded.
"But there's a loophole." Gozaboro said suddenly, revealing a katana hidden under his jacket. "Why should my girl or Edomae's have to die… WHEN I CAN CUT OPEN THE LITTLE PUNK WHO SAW THEM RIGHT HERE AND NOW?!" He shouted.
Danny was about to make a break for it when Gozaboro's wife pulled her husband by the ear, causing the grown man to cry in pain.
I guess I know who wears the pants in their relationship… Danny thought
"Excuse me… let me talk." She said, causing her husband to cry in pain as he went on both knees. "So… Danny, was it?" She spoke. "I'm Ren, Sun's mother. Apologies, but we have to follow the mermaid code. But there is one option… one that doesn't involve killing anyone."
Lunar's Papa snorted angrily as Danny glared back at the terminator wannabe.
"What do we do? Decide someone's fate with a children's card game?" Danny jokingly asks.
"No. It's how Nagasumi can know Sun's true form… she became his bride and he's OFF LIMITS TO KILLING." Ren looked over her shoulder at her husband.
"Wait…" Danny blinked confused as he looked at Lunar. "Bride?"
"Nagasumi... Hmph. Lousy little piece of-" Gozaboro started to mumble.
"What was that, Dear?" Ren asks with a threatening tone.
"I mean… YES! YES DEAR!" Gozaboro bowed his head in submission, clearly afraid of his wife.
Ren smiled before looking at Edomae.
"Well, tell him." She said.
"Hmph…" Lunar's Papa grunted before speaking to Danny. "All you'd have to do to save her life and your own… is to marry her."
A dead cough could be heard as Danny remained silent.
He slowly turned his head to look at Lunar, who looked displeased with this.
"Marry her?" Danny finally asks.
"You'd be part of the family, knowing she's a mermaid means you'd be free from harm. As long as you treat her right, you can live a long, happy life." He tells Danny.
Danny looked to Nagasumi and Sun
"So you two aren't dating you're engaged?" He asked.
"Yes we are." Nagasumi answers. "It must seem weird to you…"
"Sorta but I try not to judge…" Danny said. "Also, you two are a really cute couple so congratulations."
"Thank you Danny, but you should probably get back to the topic at hand. You gotta marry Lunar now, y'see." Sun said.
"At least now Lunar will have someone else besides trying to steal me from Sun like she used to." Nagasumi muttered.
"She what?" Danny questioned angrily.
"Hahaha!" Lunar went, looking smug despite still being in mermaid form. "Well, now to save your own life, you'll have to be our manservant! You'll treat us like the goddess we truly-"
"No." Danny said flatly, earning horrified gasps from everyone.
"Exactl- wait what?" Lunar went.
"Why would I marry you? I just met you and, so far, you've been the worst date I've had. Rude, ego-driven, a pain to my ears, the list could go on. My last two bad dates were an abusive older sister and an irresponsible wild child, but even they didn't get me as upset as you." Danny said.
"WHAT?! YOU DARE TO REJECT AND INSULT US?!" Lunar shouted angrily.
"No duh…" Danny responded. "You said I'd be your manservant. And I just found out you were seriously flirting with someone in front of his fiancé. That's two giant red flags."
"... well, that was your only real chance." Masa said.
"Let us handle this. SHARK FUJISHIRO!" Gozaboro shouted.
"Can I eat this one?" The blonde man at his side asks.
"Go for it." Gozaboro went.
"Dear…" Ren warned.
"Sorry, but you can't save this one!" Gozaboro gave the order as Shark Fujishiro suddenly morphed.
He became a large shark, much to Danny's surprise.
"... okay, that's a new one…" He said.
"TIME TO EAT?!" Shark Fujishiro leapt at Danny, his mouth wide open.
Thinking fast, Danny rolled out of the way, getting away in time before Fujishiro landed near Lunar, making her shriek and jump back.
"YOU IDIOT! YOU ALMOST BIT US!" She snapped back with comical anger.
"SORRY?!" Shark Fujishiro responds. "Get back here, skinny boy?! I'm gonna gobble you up?!" He calls out to Danny.
"Dude… why are you making everything a question?" Danny questioned before two of the Seto gang members grabbed him by the arms. "Hey!"
"We got 'em! Gyo!" One of them said.
"Dinner time for Fujishiro, Gyo!" Another said.
Danny took a moment to notice how inhuman they look.
"Fish?" He asks.
"We're all merfolk, Gyo!" A third went up to Danny and said.
"You're all merpeople?" He asks, realizing that, outside of Nagasumi, no humans were around.
"TIME TO DINE?!" Shark Fujishiro was in the air, ready to chomp down on Danny.
As most watched with either excitement or pity for him, Danny thought fast.
No time for excuses… He thought.
Shark Fujishiro chomped down. Both the Seto and Edomae outfits cheered for the apparent death of someone who crossed them.
"Finally, we whacked someone after so long!" Gozaboro said.
"He seemed like such a nice boy too…" Ren muttered in disappointment.
Lunar, seeing that Danny apparently now dead, seemed to have lost her anger at him.
"I wasn't that mad…" She said.
Shark Fujishiro ceased chewing as he noticed something wrong.
"There's… NOTHING in my mouth?!" He went, opening it.
The three of Maguro, Agitator and Furiyo peeked in.
"There's nothing, Gyo!" They went.
"Huh? Nothing?!" Gozaboro questioned.
"Huh…" Masa looked in. "Either that boy was made of air… or he wasn't eaten…"
"But how, gyo?!" Maguro went. "How di-"
Suddenly, the three were sent flying away by the swing of someone's white boot.
Shark Fujishiro was then lifted off the floor and thrown many feet away. The ground beneath cracked as the shark bounced further from the crowd.
"A) Get eaten, B) See her die, C) Marry her… I chose D) None of the above!" Danny said, now transformed and standing before them.
All the merfolk dropped their jaws collectively.
"What's going on?" Nagasumi asks.
"I don't know. He just changed to that…" Sun said, equally at a loss.
As Danny Phantom hovered before them with a serious look in his face, Lunar's face melted from confusion to infatuation.
"That's that supernatural superhero from that haunted town! Danny Phantom! We've heard of him! Oh, if we knew that was him, we wouldn't come to this aquarium or put more effort into being cuter! He's cuter in person!" Lunar said, hearts in her eyes.
"Who knew Lunar had her own celebrity crush?" Nagasumi couldn't help but point out.
"TAKE HIM DOWN!" Gozaboro ordered.
"Terminate him." Edomae ordered.
"Okay now you're just ripping Arnold off." Danny pointed out.
Both the Seto and Edomae outfits surrounded Danny. Since he was not human, there was no need to hold back, now going for the kill.
"Sun!" Nagasumi went. "We better help him."
"Right." Sun said. "Let's-"
In less than the span of 5 seconds, their help wasn't needed.
In the span of them talking, Danny had punched, kicked, kneed, shot, backhanded, ribbed and flicked at all the members of both gangs. Much to Gozaboro and Edomae's shock, all of their enforcers were on the floor, knocked out from Danny's rather quick blows.
"For dangerous crooks, you're kind of weak…" Danny dusted his hands.
As Danny dusted himself clean, Gozaboro's right hand man approached him.
"Boy…" Masa pulled out drawing a katana blade slowly. "I'm gonna ask you for your sake and for your friends and family to step down and-"
Danny didn't let him finish, punching Masa in the face with enough force to send him flying and sliding on the floor, knocked out with some teeth now out of his mouth.
"MASA!" Nagasumi cried out in despair.
Danny raised an eyebrow at this.
"Uh… he threatened my family…" Danny said.
"But my savior. He's the one who gave me my first kiss…" Nagasumi glowed innocently while his appearance seemed to be childishly simplistic.
"... what?" Danny cocked his head to the left.
"He means CPR, y'see?" Sun answered him.
"Dude… CPR doesn't count." Danny answered with a dead stare.
Nagasumi reacted as if the world suddenly broke apart.
"IT DOESN'T?!" He wailed.
Gozaboro's loud growling got their attention.
"If you want something done right…" He pulled out his sword.
"Wait!" NeoMark read on his phone.
"What's wrong? Did something happen?" FP11 asks.
"Capcom just announced another fighting game collection! Both CVS games, AND the sequel to Rival Schools?!" NeoMark had a huge smile on his face.
"Looky! It's got the best version of Street Fighter Alpha 3! Now there's a worthy interruption to this story!" Deadpool said.
As he and NeoMark high-five and celebrate, the other authors were left quietly confused.
"They're still shilling Capcom? I figured as much if there was an announcement about their games." PFN said, giving them a high-five despite not knowing what the games were.
"Congratulations, I guess…" 61394 said with an indifferent shrug.
"Neo?" FP spoke.
"Hmm?" He said.
"The story?" She gestured to the monitor with a look on her face.
"Oh…" NeoMark recalled what he was doing.
"Any more Capcom shilling and we might lose track of the actual story." FP11 pointed out.
"Okay…" Neo grumbled as the story continued.
"It doesn't even come out this year, dude. Who knows? Maybe this story can be done this year without the Capcom advertising." 61394 said.
"Right… my bad." NeoMark said as the story resumed.
Gozaboro ran with his sword held high, shouting in anger as he intended to strike Danny down.
"DAD! NO!" Sun called out.
Gozaboro swung down his sword, only to find his target missing.
"Huh?!" He turned left and right, wondering just where the head of his intended victim went before he could sever it from the body. "What just ha-"
Before he knew it, his face felt the impact of a fist hit him, launching him backwards.
Nagasumi and Sun stared with jaws hanging in comical disbelief before Danny himself appeared, having no injuries and sent the merman Yakuza leader flying several yards into a wall.
"And I thought the ghost pestering Penny and her family was a joke." Danny said before pondering to himself. "Wait. What was his name? Starts with a G… or was it a K?"
As he did, he seemed to not notice Gozaboro getting up and snarling in rage.
"YOUR DEAD!" He shouted before running with his sword once again ready.
Edomae himself pulled out an advanced looking shotgun and took aim.
"Your judgment day is here…" He growled slowly as he took aim.
Danny remained where he was, seemingly unaware of them.
"Uh… D-Danny?" Nagasumi went, clearly nervous about two angered merman trying to kill him. "You should be more careful…" Danny didn't respond. "Uh… hello?"
"Krey Garrison! That was his name…" Danny said before holding his hand out and grabbing rocket from the shotgun-like weapon Lunar's father fired before reaching out with his other hand and grabbing Gozaboro by the head, spinning before tossing the weapon out a window and into the sky, with Gozaboro thrown at Lunar's father.
As Danny dusted his hands clear, he felt a pair of arms hug him around the legs. Looking down, it was Nagasumi crying tears of joy.
"Where have you been all the times they've almost killed me?! And how are you not dead already?!" He wept.
"Dude… please let me go." Danny said, somewhat disturbed by what he just heard.
Gozaboro got back up, as did Edomae. Both of them doubled down on their anger and charged at Danny.
"YOU'RE DEAD, YOU LITTLE MAGGOT!" Gozaboro shouted.
Lunar's father was silent as the two were moments away.
"Scuse me…" Danny phased out of Nagasumi's arms before he sent ecto-blasts at the yakuza mermen.
Both men were sent back, hitting the wall painfully. Undaunted, Gozaboro sat back up before seeing a defeated Shark Fujishiro at his side.
"That punk?! What even is he?!" Shark Fujishiro spoke in his odd always-a-question manner.
Gozaboro stood up and grabbed his shark servant up and snarled.
"I don't care what he is! Just kill him already!" Gozaboro ordered in a deranged manner before throwing him.
"DINNER TIME?!" Shark Fujishiro shouted before Danny phased through him and grabbed his tailfin. "YOU'RE FAST?!"
"Sorry, not into shark meat! Return to sender!" Danny said as swung Fujishiro back to his boss.
With a snarl, Gozaboro swung his fist upward, sending Fujishiro into the ceiling, denting it a bit before he started falling above where Lunar, Nagasumi and Sun were.
"OH NO!" Nagasumi went as he lifted Sun up and carried her.
"WAIT! SAVE US!" Lunar shouted at Nagasumi before seeing Shark Fujishiro seconds from falling on her.
"LUNAR!" Her papa called out as he ran as fast as he could to save her.
"Papa?" Lunar asks as she thought she'd be crushed.
Shark Fujishiro landed, unconscious from being hit and sent into the ceiling.
Lunar's father paused where he was, several feet away as he stared at where he thought his daughter was crushed.
"Lunar…" He whispered in shock.
"Y-You?!" He heard Lunar's voice.
Looking to the left of the unconscious shark, he saw Lunar was saved almost at the last second, carried like a bride by her blind date.
"You okay?" Danny asked, still holding her in his arms
"We… I mean… I think so…" Lunar said, her haughty attitude faltering a bit.
"Why didn't you change back to having legs?" Danny questioned.
"Mermaids can't do that if they're wet…" She stated in a flat tone, like he said something stupid.
"That so?" He asks before turning her intangible, making the remaining water fall off her tail, changing her legs back. "That work?"
"Y-Yeah…" Lunar went, her face turning a shade of pink.
"Lunar!" Her father called out to her, his face less stoic as he saw her alive and well.
"Daddy!" Lunar said, running to him.
The two hugged each other tightly, relieved that Lunar was still in one piece.
Danny watched this, momentarily forgetting this was the girl who had been rude to him for a moment before looking slightly to his left.
"TIME TO FLATTEN, FREAK!" Gozaboro shouted as he held a large piece of cement with the intent to flatten Danny.
He swung it downward, thinking he'd crushed Danny.
"Your dad really knows how to interrupt a tender moment…" Nagasumi said.
"Yeah…" Sun said in disapproval.
Gozaboro grinned, thinking he's gotten Danny before the dust settles. No body was there.
"What?!" He questioned, his grin gone.
"Up here." He heard Danny say before he felt pressure on top of his head.
Gozaboro looked up, seeing the bottom of a pair of shoes. Danny was standing atop his head peeking his head down for the merman to see him before waving mockingly at him.
"GET OFF ME YOU LITTLE PI-"
"You didn't say please!" Danny childishly pointed out.
"When I'm through with you, I'm gonna hunt down everyone you know…" Gozaboro ranted, seeing Danny's smile disappear. "And then I'm gonna tear their legs of and-"
Gozaboro's rant was cut off when he tried to reach for Danny, only for him to disappear. Then he reappeared and punched Gozaboro in the stomach with enough force to send him several feet.
Sun watched with her jaw dropped as Nagasumi couldn't help but grin euphorically.
"I seriously wish I could rewatch this forever…" He whispered to himself.
"That was a huge mistake… threatening people I know and care for." Danny said as he lowered his fist.
Lunar, who also watched, stared at Danny with her cheeks turning pink.
"Amazing…" She said as she watched Sun's father get back on his feet.
"THIS CAN'T BE! I'M GOZABORO SETO! LEADER OF THE SETO OUTFIT OF THE YAKUZA!" He shouted to the heavens, not used to losing like this.
"Well… I guess that's not really a factor here." Danny mused.
Nagasumi watched with an almost excited look on his face.
"Outside your mom, I've never seen anyone give your dad so much grief. I kind of want to see more of it." He admitted.
"It's as if we're steppin' into a world that ain't as goofy and comical as ours." Sun said in an almost meta sort of way.
As this went on, Ren Seto became impatient and slowly walked towards the two.
"What are you?!" Gozaboro questioned.
"I'm a human who gained ghostly superpowers. That help?" Danny asks with a playful shrug.
Gozaboro's fist shook with rage as his teeth grinded.
"YOU LIE! How could some stupid human maggot be faster and stronger than me?!" He shouted, being too arrogant and unused to any human putting up a fight to believe this.
"Dunno… maybe I'm just… more used to dealing with actual threats and not picking on someone weaker…" Danny said in a flat tone.
"Oh? Is that so?! It don't matter! I'll wear ya down till you're chum!" Gozaboro shouted before coming running at Danny, fist held high.
"Heh…" Danny said with a confident smile as he pulled his own fist back.
"YOU'RE DEAD, MAGGOT! DEAD!" Gozaboro shouted in a deranged way, ready to kill.
Danny said nothing as he just prepared himself for the fight to continue.
Both of their fists instead collided with open hands that, upon impact, created shockwaves that were felt by everyone, hair moving slightly and some knocked out gang members waking up.
Ren stepped in the way of the fight, catching both of their fists. She slowly directed her attention to her husband, crushing his hand.
"Dear… stop this." She ordered.
"By why?! He started it!" Gozaboro went as his wife's grip tightened, making him start to cry. "REN! Stop! Please!"
"Enough of-" Ren stopped upon noticing something amiss.
Turning her head, she saw Danny's fist actually made her hand bend an inch back. Her eyes widened in shock. This was something unexpected.
Her mind processed this. She went through a myriad of scenarios before an idea came to her.
She let Danny's fist go, tossing her husband aside like a ragdoll.
"Danny, was it?" She asks.
"Yeah…" Danny asked, not trusting her.
"You don't have to tell me the full details but… you said you have ghostly powers. Does that mean you're not entirely human?" She asks.
"I don't have an expository theme song to sing to you right now… but yeah, I'm half ghost." Danny answered.
Ren was silent, her mind had several ideas before a smile came to her.
"Masa!" She ordered her husband's right hand man who was pushing himself up.
"Yes, Ma'am?" He said weakly, some teeth missing after Danny punched him.
"Tell me… the rules are very specific when a human sees us… but about non-humans? Like ghosts?" Ren questioned with a knowing smile.
"Hmm?" Masa sat up, pondering what she asked for about this unusual scenario. "Good question… I don't think there's anything against non-humans from seeing us…"
"Then that settles it." Ren said as she redirected her attention to Danny.
"Settles what?" Danny asked, wondering what was going on in her head.
"Honor among thieves… is honor under the sea. We have to adhere to the mermaid code that humans cannot see us, unless one or the other dies, or they marry into the family. But if you're only half-human, and half something isn't human or mermaid… then I guess that makes you the exception." Ren said pleasantly.
"... uh, really?" Danny questioned.
"You don't have to marry into any families, and no one has to die today. You're free to go." Ren said.
It took two blinks before Danny registered her words, though he had something else to worry about.
"No offense, Mrs. Seto… but you're mobsters and you know my identity. I'm a superhero, remember?" Danny reminds her.
"Phantom." Edmoae called out to Danny. "For saving my daughter's life… I solemnly swear we will tell no one of what we saw today. Especially regarding you."
Danny raised an eyebrow before noticing Lunar looked at him, having a more sincere look of innocence in her eyes.
Though he questioned it, he couldn't help but think how it didn't match the fake tone she had all day. As such, he nodded.
"Okay. And what about the rest?" Danny asks.
"I vow that no one from the Seto outfit will admit what they saw." Ren said as she looked at her husband, who was pushing himself up. "Isn't that right, dear?"
"WHAT?!" He bellowed out. "YOU'RE KIDDING ME! DID YOU SEE WHAT THAT MAGGOT DID?! THERE'S NO WAY I'M LETTING THIS PIECE OF-" He saw his wife narrow her eyes, a warning not to cross her. Fear taking over rage, Gozaboro swallowed his pride and bowed while quivering. "I mean… YES! SURE! No one will say a word of what you are!"
Ren looked pleased with this as she looked to the rest of their gang.
"Masa?" She asks.
"'Y-Yes… I understand. If he's not entirely human, he's the exception." Masa said with a bow as the rest of their gang did the same.
"No offense, but what should I trust any of you?" Danny questioned.
"Because…" Sun said as she got her legs back, a hand on her chest. "I vow that I will make sure the Seto Outfit doesn't trouble you or your town…" As she said this, cherry petals began to fall around her. "Because if we break a vow, then it's a disgrace to all mermaids, y'see?"
"...where did those cherry petals come from?" Danny questioned.
"I stopped trying to figure it out" Nagasumi answers. "Honor is already a big deal in Japanese culture, but for mermaids, they take it to a whole different level. If they vow something to keep something secret, they'll take it to the grave."
"So… we'll keep your secret… and we trust you'll do the same for us." Ren spoke.
Danny slowly loosened up before nodding.
"Yes, I'll keep that a secret. But know this… I catch any of you causing trouble and I'll make sure to repeat what happened here today. Got it?" Danny warned.
"Understood." Ren said as she gestured for Edomae and her husband to approach. "So, we're in agreement?"
"Yes." Edomae spoke. "I, President Edomae…"
"And I, Gozaboro Seto…" Gozaboro reluctantly said.
"And I, his wife, Ren… agree to keep your identity a secret just as you would ours. And if you were to catch us causing any trouble, you're free to take any of us down…" She solemnly vowed.
"Honor among thieves… is honor under the sea." All of them said in unison.
Danny knew little about the Yakuza, but he knew from what he did know that they had a code of honor. So, making such a promise and breaking it would break that honor. So, he supposed he could tentatively trust them.
"Okay. So… can I go now? And I don't have to worry about any of you? Even him?" He gestures to Shark Fujishiro.
"Of course. And don't worry about this mess… we'll have it spick and spam in no time." Ren said.
Danny nodded before he started to head to the door.
Lunar, watching him go, felt terribly, conflicted over how this all went down before Sun put a hand on her shoulder.
"Go to 'em, Lunar." She said encouragingly.
Lunar nodded before following Danny.
Danny was through the door, ready to go when Lunar called out to him.
"Danny?" She said nervously.
"Yeah?" He asks, looking over his shoulder.
"We… I mean… I… wanted to thank you for… saving my life." She bowed her head.
"It's not a big deal. I save everyone I can." Danny said with an honest look on his face.
Lunar avoided eye contact with her superhero crush.
"So… I would like to make it up to you for… all this… and… how it was before." She asked nervously .
"Sorry but… I kind of don't really want to continue. After all this, I just wanna go home." Danny told her .
"Oh… okay." Lunar had her head down, feeling a little heartbroken from that. "I guess… see you around? Or… not…"
"Yeah." Danny said as he took off into the air.
Lunar watched him go, feeling guilty for treating him so poorly.
"Drama!" Deadpool went, angering the rest of the authors. "Oh, come on!"
Inside the aquarium
"CLEAN THIS PLACE UP!" Ren shouted to everyone, both Seto and Edomae, as they started wiping the floors and repairing damaged structures.
Nagasumi and Sun were close by, watching unfold as they saw Gozaboro in the corner, fuming in anger.
"Dad? What's wrong?" Sun asks.
"Yeah, what's wrong, Dad?" Nagasumi asks.
"DON'T CALL ME DAD!" Gozaboro shouted at Nagasumi, being held back by Masa.
"Boss… calm down." He said to get him to stop.
"IF I JUST GOT ONE CLEAR SHOT AT THAT LITTLE MAGGOT FREAK, I'D HAVE GIVEN HIM A BEATING HE'D HAVE NEVER-"
"You'd never have had the chance." Ren stated, getting their attention. "He held back, and if he wasn't such a goody good, he'd have made seafood out of you."
"Really?" Nagasumi asks.
"Ren! What's going on? Why are you taking that freak's side?!" Gozaboro whined like a child.
"Because he's strong enough to give even me trouble." Ren stated with a serious look in her eyes.
That got all of them to inch closer to her.
"What do you mean?" Nagasumi asks.
"When his fist connected with my hand… I felt a little push." She explained.
"Push?" Gozaboro asks.
"You're absolutely weaker than me, dear." She said bluntly. "Crushing you is almost easier than paper…"
"Ren…" Gozaboro looked absolutely in despair as he wept in misery.
"But that boy… I barely put any effort into dealing with you… but he actually made me put the smallest bit of effort into holding him back. And based on how much force he put into it, I doubt he used even half his power against you…" Ren said. "Clearly… we should stay away from him. He's a good boy, so he won't interfere with us as long as we keep our oaths and stay out of his territory. Let's not risk provoking him."
"Understood, Ma'am." Masa said.
"Aww… I was hopin' we could be friends." Sun said.
"Hmm… there's nothing wrong with that." Ren said with a smile. "Outside of how poorly his date with Lunar was, only seemed to have a problem with your father, and I can't say I blame him." She said as Gozaboro wept in a corner from her brutal admission of how weak he was compared to Danny.
As they spoke, Lunar was looking out to where Danny went. Her mind was racing, thinking of a way to make this right.
"I should make it up to him somehow…" She decided as she overheard Sun and Nagasumi talk.
"We should probably go see him tomorrow. Amity Park, right?" Sun asks.
"Good idea." Nagasumi said.
"See him tomorrow?" Lunar whispered to herself.
"And there we go… Lunar Edomae, the last new girl." NeoMark said.
"So, that girl was Lunar." FP11 said.
"Yeah, she was a lot." 61394 said. "On to Starfire's date then Danny picking probably a red head"
"Given the ratio, yeah, that's most likely." BCFW said with a sly grin.
"I never heard of her." Luiz4200 said.
"I heard of her and she was in the funniest scene ever." PFN said.
"Can I borrow this?" 61394 asks, gesturing to the Continuity Stone.
"Is this where you add your rule that no matter who Danny picks, the other good dates will find happy love lives?" Deadpool asked.
"That too, but I want the monkey-faced perv who shares the same last name as Lord Hiruzen to suffer." 61394 said.
"No need, I'm already making both happen no matter what." NeoMark said.
"Oh. Okay never mind." 61394 shrugged as he took a bite of a sandwich.
"Besides, Nagasumi's parents are the ones who deserve to suffer the most." NeoMark said. "Awful people…"
"So, if I'm right… there is one more date left." FP11 said.
"That's right, FP11!" Deadpool went. "About time this idiot's finished up with the character who has two stories he's yet to finish." Deadpol said as he looked towards NeoMark before continuing. "As we all know, this manchild has become an addict to crossover pairings involving redheads. He replaced a tanned spy, a ghost and a fairy of Asian descent with redheads, after all. He added a normal redhead and a redhead whose hair turns blue when she goes cold. He'd have put Sunset in here if he had the chance…" He looked to see NeoMark starting to get a bit annoyed. "He got the boy kissed without consent by a redhead werecat too!" NeoMark was starting to get annoyed. "Lunar probably counts as her hair is pink, which makes her kind of close to a redhead…" He saw NeoMark start to twitch his eye in anger. "AND he probably wishes he coulda put that animated version of Rikki from H2O in here because she's not a blonde, but a redhead too-"
"SHUT UP WADE!" NeoMark and Deadpool said in unison.
"BOOM!" Deadpool went victoriously, much to NeoMark's surprise. "PAY UP!"
"Ugh…" All of the rest of the authors went as they each gave him $20.
"He's using wall breaking powers for this." BCFW turned his gaze towards the fourth wall. "That's the only logical explanation on how he did that."
"Why did we agree to a smaller bet he'll say the same thing he does?" What was I thinking?" Luiz4200 asked in exasperation.
"He really knows you, Neo " 61394 grumbled, paying Wade in quarters.
"Why did I bet with you? You already got us once, man. Come on…" PFN said in displeasure.
"I RULE! YOUR WORLD!" Deadpool went.
"Okay… well…" NeoMark got up and took a deep breath. "If it's okay with you guys… Imma ask you all to let me handle the last chapter alone."
"Really? Why?" FP11 said.
"Nothing personal, it's just this story began with me and Green Lantern here." NeoMark gestured to Deadpool.
"Be lucky you're the one writing my dialogue." Deadpool growled.
"You know we love you, weapon XI." 61394 jabbed
"So, I kind of want to end it the same way. Plus… it's crowded here. And easier to write when I don't have to juggle between various other writers. But don't worry… you guys can come back… after the last, for the whole making a choice chapter." NeoMark said.
"I see your point, also I need to work on my other fanfics. Plus, like you said, it's crowded here." PFN said.
"Yeah I probably should get back to Danny and Angelica. Plus, I got other not-many dates stories. Try not to let Wade get under your skin." 61394 said.
"Good. I like that fic." Luiz4200 said.
"Just remember to get proper sleep, Neo." BCF said, earning a grimace from NeoMark. "You can glare all you want, but I'm not gonna check on you while I work on Danny and Felicia."
"Fine fine…" NeoMark said.
"Well… we all should get back to our own stuff. But, still… sleep? You really need your rest, Neo. Really don't want to find you overworking yourself." FP11 said, not wanting her co-author to affect his health.
"I promise… which is another reason I need you all out, so I can pull my bed out from the wall." NeoMark said.
"... don't you go home? I'm worried." Luiz4200 asks and says to him.
"We're not the real us. We're fictional personifications of ourselves, unless you think the real me is a 61 thousand year old chaos entity." 61394 said. "Welp, see ya for Starfire's date."
"Is Neo finally updating that After Many Dates fic?" Luiz4200 hopefully asked.
"See you in the final chapter, Neo…" PFN said as he threw a Pokéball into the air and rode on Reshiram
Everyone started to go.
"Well, take care Neo." FP11 said before she turned back around. "Also… shower? No offense, but you smell like you could use one…"
"Yeah, I didn't want to say anything but…" BCFW did not finish his statement, pinching his nose.
"Bye…" Neo grumbled as everyone left.
Once the door closed, Deadpool was left nodding.
"So… just you and me, Peanut." Deadpool said before NeoMark collapsed on the floor, passed out. "Huh… well… while he's out… Imma drop by Mai Shiranui's place." He said before taking off.
