Hellfire Chapter 2: The Fall of God Valley
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." – Edmund Burke
"Come, we don't have a lot of time!" Iris yelled as she dragged her son through their underground home. All the while, Belindo looked like he was in complete and utter agony with a horrified look on his face.
"Mom! The voices in my head won't stop!" Belindo yelled with horror. "Why can I hear these voices?! What is going on?! What…" Belindo's barrage of questions came to a halt when Iris turned around and slapped him.
The shock of what transpired was so immense that the voices in Belindo's head came to an abrupt halt. Almost as if that slap had knocked the voices right out of his head.
"…Mom… why did…?" Belindo asked with tear-stained eyes. Then, Iris gently placed the palms of her hands over his ears. Blocking out all noise around him and keeping his face and focus solely on her own, Iris then began to speak. Though her voice was muffled, he could still read her lips.
"Listen to me. Take a deep breath. Breathe in… and breathe out." She said as she imitated the action to which Belindo mirrored. After doing this for several moments Belindo calmed down. "Have you calmed down?" Iris asked to which he shook and nodded. "Good, now listen very carefully. Those voices you are hearing belong to the people of this island and what they are currently experiencing." She explained, causing Belindo to look very worried again.
Iris seemed to hesitate before answering again. "You've just awakened a very rare ability. One that, in all honesty, has chosen the worst time to manifest. But you cannot let it overwhelm you. This is your power and you control it, not the other way around. So starting now, keep a lid on that power and your emotions. There will be time to grieve and cry later. For now, we must focus on staying alive and staying hidden from the monsters who have just invaded this island. Do you understand?" Iris asked.
After being bombarded with so much information, Belindo looked like he was going to panic, but he followed his mother's earlier advice and took deep controlled breaths. When he looked back up, his eyes were the picture of calm once again. "Alright, I am fine now Mother." Belindo assured her, causing Iris to sigh in relief.
That relief was short-lived however as loud booming echoed above them. Iris' eyes narrowed as she grabbed Belindo's hand and dragged him down the hall to a familiar stone barrier. Not waiting to ask Belindo for help, Iris punched the stone barrier, shattering it with ease. She quickly walked through the opening and strode towards the pedestal. She grabbed all of the glowing egg capsules from earlier and placed them in a strap holder around her shoulder.
Finally, she took the small treasure chest and took out the Devil Fruit inside it. She walked towards her son and presented the fruit to him.
"Eat it." She commanded but Belindo looked at her with a surprised expression.
"But I thought you said…" Belindo was about to ask, but Iris beat him to it.
"Unfortunately, we are out of time, Beli. We can't risk this Devil Fruit falling into enemy hands, so it is better to have you eat it now rather than risk losing it later." Said Iris to which Belindo nodded.
He took the Devil Fruit carefully into his hands and looked it over as they ran out of the cave. It felt hot to the touch and as crazy as it sounded it seemed to vibrate softly in his hands, like the rumbling of a sleeping beast. Narrowing his eyes, Belindo knew very well what eating this Devil Fruit would mean, but he did not care. If it could grant him the power to be unbound by the world and potentially escape alongside his mother, then he'd gladly pay the price. So without hesitation, he bit into it.
The first thing that he noticed was the taste. Without a doubt, it was the most horrible thing he ever tasted. It was like eating a mix of burnt and rotten meat with a hint of spiciness that made his eyes water. Despite this, he did not stop eating it until there was nothing left.
When he was done, he almost gagged but held himself back and looked up at his mother. "So now what? How do I know what my power is?" Belindo asked as he followed his mother down a bunch of different tunnels.
"Honestly, I am not sure. Some say the effects are instantaneous, while others take a while to kick in." Iris explained as they ran down the hall, to which Belindo nodded.
In a way, he kind of understood what his mother was talking about. He could feel some kind of burning sensation deep within his gut. And he was not referring to the feeling he normally felt from the fire on his back. It felt different. More… primal. Like an ancient beast that was slowly waking up from eons of dormancy.
Despite his youth, Belindo was quite intelligent, so rather than get pissed off or worry that he got a dud power, he theorized that perhaps this was the type of Devil Fruit that had certain requirements that needed to be fulfilled before the power activated or maybe it was a power so ancient it had not been awakened into this world for a long time.
Either way, they would not be able to count on it for the time being. Suddenly, a small jolt spread through his and Iris's bodies and their red eyes glowed brightly. They both turned to look down the tunnel they had just come from. They could feel some very strong presence that had just entered their home.
Although they were still far enough that they could not hear them, they could feel the intense level of malice and evil coming from them. Belindo gulped nervously and Iris took his hand but not before giving him a silent command. One that demanded that now more than ever, he needed to mask his presence, which he did.
As the presence started to approach them, they finally made it to a particular tunnel that descended downwards, as they made their way down the stairs, Iris turned around and threw a couple of those capsules at the entrance behind her and upon breaking open, the contents glowed before exploding. The force of the explosion was so great that the cave entrance above then collapsed, causing a cave-in that buried the tunnel behind them, forcing Belindo and his mother to run like hell into another series of passages.
As they finally rounded the corner, Iris held her son close as the explosion flew past them, sending dust and debris all over the place. When the smoke cleared, they saw that the entrance behind them was completely buried. Turning back to her son, the two stared intently at one another before nodding and continuing on their way. Unbeknownst to the young Lunarian, the pupils of his eyes had briefly transformed into slits.
Back in Belindo and Iris's home, three people stood in front of the collapsed exit.
One was a young man with an unusual hairstyle that took the shape of long hair in the form of an extremely tall, forward-bent spike on top. His attire consisted of a rather uniquely styled military uniform.
On the left was a young dark-haired woman, wearing a similar attire to the young man. On his right was a rather tall individual donning a black cloak and wielding a staff weapon of some sort. What stood out most about him was a mask he wore in the shape of a bovine skull.
"Seems like we have a few vermin running around the island." The young man said.
"Strange, according to the Kingdom's records we obtained, there was no indication that there were any rabbits residing on this side of the island. I wonder what it could mean?" The tall individual questioned with a tilt of his mask.
"Does it matter? In the end, trash is trash." The tall man said with an uncaring expression while the woman next to him nodded.
"Well, then should we get a bit of exercise before the game and hunt them down Lord Figarland? Perhaps have some of the slaves and rabbits clear out the rubble for us so we can chase them down?" The masked man inquired a little too enthusiastically.
"Are you serious? The game is going to start soon and I doubt the other nobles would be too happy that we delayed the game over a couple of pieces of trash. No, let them flee for now. In the end, there is nowhere for them to run. The Marine forces have surrounded the island so there is no hope for them to escape to the outside world and with so many nobles gathered here today, it's only a matter of time before they are hunted down. Now come along, we wasted enough time with our little detour. Honestly, what was Lord Saturn thinking having us come out here?" said FIgarland with the shadows of the cave covering his face, giving him a terrified and cold aura.
With his piece said, the two underlings followed Figarland as they made their way back to the center of the island where the hunt is scheduled to begin.
"Come, let us return. I can easily win the contest even with a -10,000 point penalty, but that doesn't mean I will let the other nobles have all the fun of hunting without us."
After making their way through the twists and turns of the secret tunnels leading away from their home, Belindo and Iris finally arrive at the exit of the tunnel and carefully open the secret entrance. Iris went ahead first to examine her surroundings before quietly motioning her son to follow after her.
Thankfully, the entrance was covered by a thick wall of shrubbery, allowing their entry into the outside world to remain hidden and coupled with the cloaks they were wearing, they easily managed to blend in with their surroundings. As they covertly travelled across the island, Belindo could finally see what was making the inhabitants panic so much and honestly what he saw left him disgusted and horrified.
He saw people wearing strange suits and bubbles on their heads making their way to the center of the island. But they were not walking there themselves. No, they were being carried by other people. By which he meant literally carrying them, on their backs while crawling on their hands and knees.
Belindo watched in horror as these strange people, who based on their appearances, were the Celestial Dragons his mother told him about, treated the slaves carrying them as lesser beings. Kicking, spitting, abusing them and in some cases even forcing them to drag themselves through the dirt. Despite being treated like they were lower than garbage, the slaves did not fight back.
Even from his hiding spot so far away Belindo could see the dried-up tears and blood decorating the faces of those slaves as well as the looks of utter defeat on their faces. He also saw several cages filled with slaves being carted off to the center of the island. What's worse, he even saw some of the civilians of God Valley being forced to walk while in chains with strange targets painted on their backs. He did not know what that was for, but he feared he would find out the answer soon enough.
Belindo forced himself to look away with a heavy heart as he saw the kind butcher he often visited trying to reassure his family as they cried out. He clenched his fists when he heard one of the nobles yell for them to be quiet followed by the crack of a whip and even more screaming.
As he walks away, Belindo unconsciously taps into that strange power again, and he can hear the voices again. He stops walking and tries to force himself to calm down. But unlike before he could sense a deep rumbling within his gut, almost like a wild beast growling with rage.
Before Belindo could get any ideas, his mother took him by his hand and shook her head, but based on her expression, he could tell this upset her as well.
'I know it's horrible, but please bear with it.' She pleaded with her eyes.
Suddenly, a gunshot echoed through the air before they unconsciously ducked just as a bullet struck a tree branch above them. Looking behind them they could see that a noble had fired in their direction. Without hesitation, the two Lunarians quickly turned tail and ran deeper into the forest.
"Hmm, what is it?" One seemingly bored noble asked while travelling on the back of a slave.
The one who shot at them reloaded his weapon, a gold-ornamented rifle. "I thought I spotted a few stray rabbits in the bushes over there. Hey, you lot!" He ordered to a group of nearby guards who stood at attention.
"Go over there and investigate at once! This game won't be any fun if we don't have enough rabbits to hunt." He ordered forcing the guards to give chase, lest they become part of their twisted games.
Meanwhile, Belindo and his mother ran off as fast as they could to put as much distance between them and their pursuers. They could hear the yells behind them and the sound of gunfire echoing around them, including a few stray shots that flew over them. Yet they ignored them, focusing only on their escape and putting as much distance between them and those monsters as possible.
A lot of time passed after that. Thankfully, it was easy for them to put distance between themselves and their pursuers. Except for the more dangerous enemies on this island, the regular foot soldiers were easy to evade and outrun, especially after putting out the flames on their backs. Using their superior speed and senses, they made sure to avoid other groups of armed guards and nobles.
That said, it still took a lot of effort to actively avoid any roaming patrols or nobles in the area. They also had to be careful to hide their presence as much as possible. While the nobles and guards were weak, the people whom they sensed at their home were another story.
Finally, they arrived at a decently sized rock formation. Rather than use their wings to fly up and risk getting spotted, the two rapidly climbed the structure. When they finally got to the top, they could see the coast of the island and what they saw made them gasp with shock. Iris took out a spyglass telescope to get a better view.
"Damn it! They have the whole island surrounded!" She cursed as she handed the telescope to her son who wanted to see the situation for himself. Sure enough, giant battleships surrounded the entire island. Based on their uniforms and the symbol they carried on their flags, they were undoubtedly Marine soldiers.
Belindo was shocked. "Those are Marines? What are they doing? Don't they see what's going on here?! People are being attacked and abducted from their homes by these… these… animals! And they are just circling the island letting it happen?!"
Suddenly, Belindo noticed something in the corner of his vision through the scope. A boat containing a group of people waving down the Marine ships. From what he could see, it contained mostly adults and even a few children looking worse for wear. A few Marines noticed the approaching vessel and they ran to the edge of the battleship. However, Belindo's blood ran cold when he witnessed the Marines brandish their weapons at the boat. What followed was a hail of gun and cannon fire that destroyed the boat and killed its occupants.
Belindo lowered the spyglass, shock and horror clear as day on his face at the scene he just witnessed. Iris saw this and gently placed a hand on her son's shoulder.
"… Mother," Belindo said to his mother with a quiet voice. "You said that Marines carry justice on their backs and work to defend the people from pirates… so then why… WHY THE HELL ARE THEY KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE AND LETTING THESE ANIMALS GET AWAY WITH HURTING THEM?!" Belindo's quiet expression morphed into one of absolute rage as the flames on his back ignited.
Iris quickly calmed her son down as she tried to think of how to explain this to her son.
"In this world, there is no one who ranks higher than the Celestial Dragons and other World Nobles. As such, they are far beyond the reach of human law. Not even the Marines can't defy them." Iris explained.
Belindo's flames calmed down, but his anger remained. She could tell he wanted to say more, but if he did he would never stop. Iris' heart clenched as she saw the expression on her son's face. As a Lunarian born into this cursed world, she knew that he would have been forced to witness this sooner or later. She only wished she could have shielded him for just a little longer.
Shaking those thoughts out of her head, Iris urged her son to gather his bearings and the two descended back down to the valley below. Upon returning, Belindo and Iris spent several hours just running around and generally avoiding any sign of life. All the while Belindo could not shake off the injustice that he just witnessed.
It did not help when they heard the sound of gunfire and screams of fear and despair echoing through the air. The overwhelming aura that permeated the island nearly overwhelmed Belindo, but with his mother's support, he continued on.
'Mother always warned me that the world outside of this island would be harsh, but this… this is worse than I could have ever imagined.'
Suddenly, a loud voice pierced Belindo's mind.
'HELP ME!'
It was so sudden, loud and intense, that Belindo flinched and turned his head in the direction it came from. Without waiting for his mother's input, Belindo ran in the direction of the voice.
"Belindo, wait!" Iris cried out and tried to stop him, but Belindo was too fast. Belindo moved like the devil himself was after him, desperately trying to reach the voice. Of all the voices he heard, this one affected him the most. A voice filled with so much pain and suffering and yearning that it nearly overwhelmed him. What's more, although Belindo could not describe it accurately at the time, he felt deep down, a certain sense of kinship and understanding with the emotions of the voice.
When he finally reached the source of the voice, his fury ignited once again as he saw a group of slaves, both foreign ones and even a few local islanders, ganging up on one of their own. At first, he thought it was a man, but upon closer inspection, he saw it was a young child with a huge body.
He was struggling to free himself from a small group, with most of them wielding clubs and trying to drag him with them.
"Damn, brat! What do you think you are doing?!" One slave yelled, madness in his eyes.
"If you escape, then we'll all be killed." Another yelled.
The young boy finally had enough and struggled even more against his captors before yelling out with eyes filled with so many tears and emotions that it tugged at Belindo's heartstrings.
"Then why don't you kill me here?!" The boy yelled. "Even if I go back… I'LL DIE ANYWAY!"
Sensing the boy's pain, Belindo felt tears of his own start to fall. It did not help when the slaves surrounding the boy started to attack him again. Clenching his fists, Belindo was about to jump in, but a strong hand held him back. Turning around ready to lash out, Belindo stopped when he saw it was his mother.
"What are you doing, mother?! Let me go! I have to help him!" Belindo whispered harshly as he struggled to shake his mother's grip.
Seeing this, Belindo redoubled his efforts, but he still could not shake his mother's iron grip. Looking up, he was about to yell at her again, but he stopped when he saw tears of her own and even blood dripping down her lips from how hard she was biting down on them.
"You think I don't want to go down there and help that poor boy?! Of course, I do! What decent mother would ever willingly let a child suffer like this?!... But my priority is and always will be you Belindo… So please, I beg of you… Just leave with me." Iris cried out from the pain of her own words.
Belindo looked at his mother incredulously. In his mind, he knew his mother was right. Right now, all they had was each other. Logically, the best option was to keep their heads down and avoid any trouble. By doing that and waiting out the nobles' hunt, they could potentially survive a little longer and even make it off this island.
So with a heavy heart, Belindo nodded and he and his mother started to walk away from the heartbreaking scene. All the while, they could hear the young boy screaming in pain begging for his tormentors to stop. Each word and agonized cry stabbed deeply into their hearts. Iris was openly crying now. Her logic told her what she was doing was right, but her instincts as a mother were crying out to go back and help. And yet she pushed them down, no matter how painful it was and struggled on.
As for Belindo, he was of a similar mindset. Each step he took felt agonizing, as he repeatedly told himself over and over again that this was for the best. 'We have no choice! We have to keep going! We have to survive! We have to escape!... WE HAVE TO…!"
Before Belindo could finish his thoughts, his unusual power activated and the boy's voice entered his mind once again. Only this time, the words he uttered made his while body freeze.
'… sob… please… SAVE ME NIKA!'
Belindo's eyes widened and the whole world froze. At that moment, Belindo knew what he had to do.
He wrenched himself free of his mother's grip and turned back. Everything seemed to slow down as Iris watched her son with disbelief. As she watched him run forward, the flames on his back ignited. And just for a second, Iris watched with shock as they shifted from orange to pitch black.
The ground where Belindo stood exploded as he flew from the trees they were hiding in. As he soared over the mob, he flexed his wings casting a large shadow over the group. All of them looked up in shock at the sight, while the large boy could just barely make out a winged blur through his tear-stained eyes.
Then, Belindo descended, smashing into the ground feet first with enough force to make a small crater. Before anyone could react, Belindo dashed forward, clenching his hand into a fist and lashing out at the apparent leader of the mob. His fist sunk into the man's flesh, sending blood and teeth flying as the force of the punch sent the man flying into the air before crashing back down to earth.
Belindo landed and flexed his wings, his head down as he turned to the mob which had scattered back from Belindo and the large boy. His eyes were covered in shadow as he spoke.
"What the hell…" Belindo's head then snapped back up as he yelled at the people gathered around them. "DO YOU PEOPLE THINK YOU ARE DOING!" A pulse rippled through the air and most of the slaves either fell to their knees or were knocked unconscious.
The injured boy looked up in shock and awe at the figure before him. Suddenly, he felt a pair of strong, yet soft hands hold him comfortably as they cradled his head and injured form.
"Are you all right?" Iris asked softly with a warm and comforting tone as she looked down at Kuma with sad eyes and a smile. The boy sniffled as he looked into her eyes. It had been a while since he had seen someone look at him with such kind and caring eyes.
He sniffed again as he slowly nodded his head. Iris took a moment to observe the many wounds on his body, both old and new. As a survivalist, she knew that helping this boy carried great risk. However, when her son acted earlier, it also sparked to life the motherly instincts within her that she had tried to forcibly suppress. It was then that she understood that regardless of the risk, she could not let this boy continue to suffer.
She then brought the boy into a hug. Or as much as she could considering his size. The boy tensed at first, but then he relaxed at a sensation he thought he would never feel again.
'This feels… just like when momma...' The boy cried tears of joy and sadness as he sunk into Iris' embrace. Meanwhile, Iris kept her eyes on her son. That feat he had just pulled off was not lost on her. The fact that he subconsciously used it now, offered her a glimpse of his true potential.
As for Belindo, he had not moved from his position as he glared at the slaves who were still conscious. Despite being far older than him, they were all frozen with fear as the young boy stared them down with his red-slitted eyes. Of course, in the face of such fear, the average human often loses their ability to make rational decisions. Adding on to the fact that these slaves were pretty much experiencing one of the worst days of their lives, it was only natural that one of them would snap and just charge recklessly at Belindo.
As the slave ran towards him screaming, Belindo narrowed his eyes at the man but made no effort to take action.
"LOOK OUT!" The large boy warned him, but Belindo did nothing as the man swung his club at his head with so much force, that the weapon shattered on impact. Belindo's body leaned back from the blow, yet he did not cry out.
The sight seemed to inspire the other enslaved people to take action, but that spark died out a minute later when they saw Belindo's body return to its normal position.
"Blows like that could kill regular people. Unfortunately, for you, I am the farthest thing from normal." Belindo looked at the man calmly, but the look in his eyes made the man nearly wet himself. "The fact you just came out at me with the intent to kill, is all the answer I need about how I should proceed."
Before the man could scream, he lost his breath as Belindo punched him in the gut and sent him flying into another person. The other slaves then tried to charge him all at once. Despite their superior numbers, Belindo had faced more difficult situations when sparring with his mother.
Two tried to ambush him from behind, but he ducked and spun around their blows before striking out with his leg into the side of one of the men sending him flying onto the other. He then charged forward getting into the guard of a man who was in the middle of preparing an overhead blow. He then punched him in the stomach, causing the man to empty the contents of his stomach on the ground.
He then jumped and roundhouse kicked another, then let the flames on his back go out, allowing him to fly past the remaining slaves, kicking their feet from under them and then punching one in the gut and sending him flying into his comrade sending them toppling to the ground where they trembled on the floor, both in pain and fear.
With all the enslaved men down, Belindo turned his eyes towards the leader, who was struggling to get up as he watched the scene unfold in front of him with trembling eyes. He then blinked and before he could process what happened, Belindo appeared in front of him.
The man could not do anything aside from cry and tremble at his impending doom. However, Belindo grabbed him by the collar and brought him to his face where his wrathful eyes filled the man with even more fear.
"I will ask you again… what the hell do you and these guys think you're doing?" Yelled Belindo. "He's just a kid and you guys were beating him like he was some kind of criminal! Don't any of you have any shame or decency?!"
It was at this moment when the man finally found his voice and to Belindo's surprise he actually started to cry. "YOU THINK WE WANTED THIS?!" He cried out as the tears spilled freely now. "They paired us up in groups and told us that if any of us tried to escape, we would all be killed!"
Belindo glanced behind him and he could see all the other enslaved people looking at him with eyes filled with fear and sadness, also on the verge of tears. "We… we didn't want to hurt him but he didn't give us any choice! They would have killed us!"
As the man pleaded and explained their reasons for attacking the young boy. Belindo's surprise transitioned to silent anger as he brought the man closer to his face.
"You guys just beat the crap out of a scared little kid and made him want to die. Can you honestly say that any of you deserve to live after that?" Belindo said in a calm, yet cold voice.
The man's eyes, along with everyone who heard him, widened in realization as the implication of their actions finally hit them. They shook for several seconds before they all broke down crying. Belindo let the man go and he slumped to the ground.
Belindo stared at the man with indifference, he brought his hand to the sabre under his cloak. Before Iris could stop him, the large boy in her arms moved quickly and ran towards Belindo and what he did next shocked everyone.
Belindo and the enslaved man stared wide-eyed as the large boy stood between them with his arms raised in a protective stance.
"…Why? Why would you risk everything to help this man? Especially after what he and the others did to you…?" Belindo asked incredulously. The boy didn't answer at first, instead choosing to sob.
"… Because he's scared!" He cried out. "They're all scared and don't want to be hurt anymore. Sure, what they did to me was bad and it hurt a lot, but you heard what he said. They didn't want this to happen. And yeah I would rather die than go back and get hurt by those bad people. But that doesn't mean I want to see these guys get hurt even more! I… We all just want to be free!" Kuma cried out.
Belindo removed his hand from his sabre, looking at the boy with newfound respect. "What's your name?"
The boy sniffled again, "Kuma." The boy confirmed as Belindo walked up to him. Kuma looked a little nervous as Belindo approached him, but that nervousness disappeared when the young Lunarian stopped, smiled and placed his fist over Kuma's heart.
"… You've got one hell of a big heart, Kuma. Not to mention it took guts to do what you did." Belindo said surprising Kuma. He then looked over to the male slave who was on the ground.
"You'd better be grateful to this guy. Even though you treated him like crap, he still stood up for you." Said Belindo as the man looked to the ground with shame. An action mirrored by the others.
Iris sighed in relief as she looked at the large boy with gratitude for stopping Belindo from doing something he would later regret.
"HEEEEEHAWWWW! VAIT UP YOU ALL!" a loud voice echoed in the small clearing catching the attention of everyone present. They all turned their attention towards a boulder on which stood two figures, the taller of which was in a hilarious pose and whose most defining trait was his blue hair and giant face, which Belindo could not help but stare at.
"So you guys are the stars of this little show, eh! I, on the one hand, ve have a Buccaneer! You carry the blood of giants in you!" He said as he addressed Kuma who looked at him with a questioning gaze. "And on the other, ve have you two as vell! With those black wings, red eyes dark skin and silver hair, you two can only hail from the legendary tribe of Gods! Real Lunarians in the flesh!" He flamboyantly proclaimed as he addressed Iris and Belindo.
Suddenly, a loud giggling sound caught their attention and they all looked at the figure next to the boy. She was much smaller in comparison and had bright eyes filled with life, something that shocked everyone present. She had unusually punk hair and wore tattered clothing, but that did not stop her from smiling and chewing on a piece of meat right off the bone.
"Big bro caught you all speechless, didn't he? Of course, that's not surprising. He may not be a Buccaneer, but big bro is pretty big himself. Don'tcha think so?"
"The only thing big about me is my head… not!" The boy exclaimed in a joking manner.
'I disagree.' Belindo thought but did not say anything as the boy continued.
"Listen up ya morons! Even though we are in the presence of such amazing individuals, you all have such hopeless expressions on your faces! I, for one, vant to live!" The boy cried out with a smile as he turned towards the slaves, with his gaze mostly landing on Kuma and Belindo, two boys, who in the coming hours, will change the course of events that will greatly alter the future of their world.
"Vhat are you going to do?!"
And thus, the second chapter comes to a close.
Originally, I was hoping to include more content in this chapter, but after going over what I wrote in the draft, I decided this was a good place to end things.
But don't let this cliffhanger get you down. Chapter three is virtually halfway done and I am working to get it out as soon as possible.
Until then, please follow, fav and leave a review to let me know what you thought of this chapter! :)
