Inside a windowless room, deep within the bowels of the Iceberg Lounge, Selina Kyle woke up with a splitting headache, laying on what appeared to be some sort of makeshift medical examination table. Selina shuddered to think about what might have been done to her while unconscious, but was grateful not to be tied up, restrained, or otherwise injured or hurt. She did, however, notice that she was now dressed in an elegant purple gown. Selina almost did a double take when she noticed a makeshift Catwoman mask lying beside her on the table.
The last thing she remembered was being late at night while Bruce was out investigating the murders at City Hall. Selina had heard the sound of glass breaking and a commotion downstairs. When she went to check on Alfred, she found him unconscious and surrounded by masked mercenaries. Selina remembered trying to fight them off before being subdued and having her face smothered with a chloroform-soaked rag. It was clear to Selina that whoever wanted them there were highly-trained professionals capable of bypassing Wayne Manor's extensive security system.
Selina's confusion quickly turned to horror when the door opened, and she was joined by two of the most infamous, deranged female criminals Gotham had ever known: Poison Ivy (Dr. Pamela Isley) and Harley Quinn (Dr. Harleen Quinzel). Harley was dressed in a bizarre, over-the-top bridal gown, while Ivy was dressed in an elegant green gown, similar to the dress Selina was now wearing. Even during her days as Catwoman, Selina had made it a point not to associate herself in any way with homicidal maniacs like Ivy and Quinn, and she internally shuddered at the thought of them being able to infiltrate a fortress like Wayne Manor.
"Hiya, kitten," Harley playfully greeted Selina as she and Ivy entered the room, "We wanted to surprise you with a little makeover. Honestly, we're big fans of yours! Going from ex-con to snagging a rich boyfriend? It's an inspiration!"
"What did you do to me?!" Selina seethed, "Where is Alfred?!"
"The butler is fine," Ivy answered, matter-of-factly, "And relax, Miss Kyle. No one has done anything to you...not yet anyway. In fact, the ones who arranged all this wanted you completely unspoiled; no drugs or toxins in your system. Of course, the night is still young."
"So, what's with the medical equipment?" Selina asked, "What do you want with me?"
"Well, we wanted to make sure you were perfectly healthy and weren't hurt too bad," Harley replied, "Of course, neither of us are that kind of doctor, but thankfully we were able to borrow a few from Arkham."
"So, let me guess...you're getting married," Selina interrupted Harley, referencing her white gown.
"Yep! And I'm not the only one with big news," Harley gleefully replied, "Like I said, we ran some tests, and it turns out that you, pussycat, have got a little bun in the oven! Which just made this occasion even more interesting!"
Selina was stunned. She had been feeling symptoms in the last day or two, but had not yet taken any home pregnancy tests. Granted, this was Harley Quinn she was dealing with, so Selina was naturally skeptical.
"We know, this is a lot of information to unload on you on you right away," Ivy added, sarcastically feigning empathy, "But, look at it this way, honey: you just hit the jackpot. You got knocked up by a billionaire! You are way too valuable to return damaged; and you will stay that way as long as you cooperate with us."
"So, what do you want with me?" Selina asked, motioning toward her outfit and the cat mask on the table, "You want me to be Catwoman again? Like a bridesmaid in your wedding?"
"Oh, sweetie. You say that like you haven't always been Catwoman," Harley condescendingly teased, "You can't tell me you don't miss it a little bit!"
"You're out of your mind," Selina retorted.
"And you're out of options, Mama," Harley responded, growing more serious, "You might not believe me about being pregnant, but right now you can't really take the chance. Honestly there's nothing I'd love more than to be able to have some babies with my Puddin'. But it turns out that that's not really an option for us the natural way...so maybe if your new sugar daddy doesn't come through with a ransom payment for us, maybe we'll just keep you around long enough to have the kid yourself, so Mr. J and I can raise him as our own...or maybe we just kill you and the kid before we have a chance to find out? Or...the cops or Batman come and see you dressed up like a cat again, and it's back to jail you go? There are a lot of ways this could end very badly for you and your unborn man trap of a baby, so I suggest you be a good little kitty and play along. I've wanted this wedding for a long time and nothing is going to stop it."
Ivy then opened the door to the room and signaled to some of the henchmen outside. Several of the armed members of the League of Shadows forcibly brought a battered Alfred Pennyworth and Lucius Fox into the room. Selina immediately rushed to console the two men for a few seconds before they were once again restrained and separated.
"I don't understand! What do you people want with us?" Lucius cried out.
"The only reason you two geezers are still breathing is because you are insurance," Ivy taunted, "In case Miss Kitty here decides not to do her bridesmaid duties and do exactly what we tell her to do. Either way, we have the girlfriend/baby mama of the richest man in town, along with the two most important men in his organization. Hell of a wedding gift if you ask me!"
"If it's money you're after, that can be arranged, provided you let us go unharmed," Alfred sternly offered, "But I warn you ladies and your compatriots not to underestimate those who are looking for us as we speak. If any further harm comes to myself, Mr. Fox, or Miss Kyle, I promise you that our allies will rain fire and fury upon you lot the likes of which you have never seen before!"
"Ooh, don't threaten me with a good time, Jeeves," Harley sarcastically retorted before turning to the henchmen, "I'm sure we can find something for Mr. Belvedere and the silver Fox to do for this wedding...someone's going to have to serve our guests. Get them out of here!"
As the mercenaries led Alfred and Lucius away, Harley and Ivy made sure Selina was separated.
"It's almost time, Kit Kat," Harley gleefully taunted Selina, "We'd better get our hair and makeup done, so we can be ready for the wedding of the century! You'll be right up there with me and Ive, just like a couple of girlfriends!" Harley and Ivy cackled with delight as Selina coldly stared at them with disgust.
