We will see some action in this chapter. I'm trying to figure out how to get Rick and some of the others captured to give the Zentraedi the information about the DNA being the same. I feel it is one of the reasons that Breetai came over before the final battle.

Admiral Davis was in his office on the heavy cruiser Sydney. They had been watching over the small base in Alpha Centauri ever since the SDF-1 and her fleet left. He knew that there had been a few enemy ships close by but had left them alone in the past but now he was worried they might be attacked here.

He had been informed of the escalation of hostilities. When he received word of the attack on one of the SDF-1's patrols a month ago. He agreed with the response the SDF-1 made. He expected the enemy to strike back and had put the base on notice. He figured that since the enemy knew where they were, that they might be targeted.

He was brought out of his thoughts when he heard the battle alarms go off. He ran out of his office and to the bridge. He had a bad feeling about the alarms.

When he arrived on the bridge he called out. "What do we have?"

"Admiral, we have a fleet of enemy ships that just folded in our area. 1 battle cruiser, 6 heavey cruisers and 20 destroyers. They are heading our way. They have also deployed fighters."

"Damn, Ok signal the fleet I want all squadrons launched and to hold a defensive posture. Notify the base and send out the emergency signal."

His fleet was outnumbered but they were better armed and a lot harder to take out.

"All weapon systems on-line and pinpoint barrier systems are up. All fighters launched and the bases fighters taking off and heading our way."

That would give him 18 squadrons of fighters. His three heavy cruisers had reflex cannons, and his particle cannons had a greater range then the enemy's weapons. They could take out a few of the enemy ships before he was in their weapons range.

"As soon as the enemy ships come in the range of the reflex cannons fire all three of them. Aim for the heavy cruisers."

Kyron was in his battle pod heading to the micronian fleet over their punny base. He was going to teach these micronian's who their betters were.

"All fighters head out and take out the micronian fighters. Grel as soon as you are in weapons range destroy the micronian fleet. I want them all destroyed. Then we will destroy their base on the surface."

Rick was the officer of the deck and was telling the engineer working at the engineering station next to the captains station about the new class of pilots that was due to graduate in another month.

"So, we will have enough for another 4 squadrons."

"Yes, I already spoke with Dr. Lang about how many new fighters I will need."

"How many are staying on the SDF-1?"

"Right now, we have 10 squadrons on the SDF-1 and each of the heavy cruisers have 4 a piece. I suggested to Captain Fokker, we send them all to the cruisers. Bring their airwings up to 5. That will give the fleet 30 squadrons."

"Thats a lot of fighters. How many more squadrons can the fleet have?"

"The SDF-1's could hold another 2 squadrons of fighter and another 2 of support craft. Each of the cruisers can have another 3 fighter and 1 more support."

"Thats just shy of 800 fighters."

"Yes it is."

""How long would it take to max out the fighter squadrons"

"About another year or more depending on how many recruits we get. We are fixing to start another class but this one will not be as big. Truth be told, I believe we will need to get more other squadrons from Earth."

Rick new the Akagi's fleet was finally finished and had just been activated. The last report he had seen said the third carrier was under construction and would be finished in a couple months. They already had a quarter of her support ships finished. Once the carrier was finished Rick heard it was heading to the Alpha base they set up a while back. RDF Command wanted to increase the base fleet to a full carrier battle group.

Rick shift as duty officer was about over when Kim yelled out. "Commander, emergency transmission from Admiral Davis. Enemy fleet as just folded in and is on an attack approach. He is requesting reinforcements."

"How many ships."

"Message didn't say. I believe this was a message he had ready in case they were attacked."

"Alert the Admiral, set battle stations and alert the fleet."

Davis watched as the enemy ships crossed over into the range of his reflex cannons. All three fired as soon as the ships had crossed over. This was a max range shot so he wasn't expecting to destroy but a couple ships.

He watched as the three shot crossed the distance and saw several small explotions. It seemed the enemy fighters got in the way and a large amount of them were destroyed. Then 3 of the enemy destroyers were hit. All three of them exploded.

Kyron was furious. He just lost half his fighters because they flew strait from their ships and were in the line of fire from the micronians reflex cannons.

'The damn fools. I told them not to fly straight for the micronians.'

Well, he still had enough fighters to overwhelm the micronian fighters.

He received his next surprise when all the ships his fighters were approaching launched a swarm of missiles, then the fighters launched their own. By the time he reached the micronian ships he only had about 300 fighters and battle pods left.

The last surprise he received was when the destroyers anti mecha weapons opened up. He took a hit but was lucky enough only to receive minimal damage. "Damn it."

Davis watched as the enemy mecha was torn to pieces. He noticed a second wave launch from the enemy ships. It was larger then the first.

"Well, this keeps getting better." he spoke out loud to the bridge.

"Admiral, detecting a second and third fold. One behind the enemy fleet and one to our port side."

"How many?" He was worried now. Before he knew he could win. He would have lost some ships, but he felt he could win the battle. Now he knew he was about to lose his whole fleet.

"Sir IFF shows it is the SDF-1 and her fleet."

Davis sat down and let out a breath of relief. The battle was over, unless the enemy had more ships close by.

He watched several more enemy ships explode, most destroyer size. His fleet was now in range of enemy weapons. He could fill a hit on his ship but only a little damage reported.

Rick was in his fighter heading to support Davis's fleet and fighters. He can see the two fleets exchange fire and small battles between fighters taken place around the RDF's fleet.

"All SDF-1 fighters lets join the party."

All his fighters went to max speed and entered the battle shortly. When they reached the fleet and started to engage the enemy it turned into a route. The enemy fighters were soon overwhelmed.

Rick ended up after a command pod that looked familiar. He started tearing into the pod when it started to clear out of the area. He chased it till it was clear of the fleet and running back to it's ship. Rick notice all the other surviving fighters and pods also start retreating.

"All fighters, the enemy fleet is turning and heading for deep space." came Lisa's voice. "Return to the SDF-1.

By the time the SDF-1 joined up with Davis's fleet he had already destroyed several enemy ships and damaged more. He had not lost a single ship, but several had received some damage. His fighter squadrons also took some loses but he received a report that several emergency beacons had be activated when the pilots ejected.

"Let's get search and rescue out there and find our pilots. Request additional search and rescue from the SDF-1."

"Sir S launching now and it looks like the SDF-1 and her ships launching their own."

"Admiral receiving transmission from Admiral Gloval."

"Put it on screen." When he saw Gloval on his screen. "Henry, glad you showed when you did."

"Glad we could help. I had a feeling that they might come after you and had my fleet close by."

"Thanks Henry."

"No problem Mike. We can't stay but I am leaving you with 1 of my cruisers and 2 anti mecha destroyers and 1 missile destroyer. I know it's not much, but it gives you 4 more squadrons of fighters to help replace what you lost. I will also transfer you enough alpha fighter to replace some of your loses."

"Thanks Henry. Every little bit helps. Hopefully Command will be able to send us more ships soon."

"Last I heard it looks like it will be 3 months before the new carrier battle group will be ready."

"We will hold till then."

"We will be folding around to different areas but will fold back if you need any more help."

Breetai was in his office when Exedor came in. "Commander, I just received a report from a cyclops recon ship we had watching the micronian base."

Why did he have a feeling that he was not going to like this. "How bad is it Exedor."

"It seems that Kyron did not take your warning seriously and half of his fleet was destroyed or damaged attacking the fleet over the planet.

The report stated that he had lost several ships and most of the fighters from the first wave of attack before the fleet received reinforcements. It seems that Zor's ship and it's fleet folded in and Kyron barely got out of there with less than half his fleet."

"So Zor's battle fortress is back in the closes star system from here."

"It would appear to be but the Cyclops reported that it also left shortly after the battle. 4 of it's ships from it's fleet stayed to reinforce the fleet over the planet."

"What does Kyron have to say about this?"

"Nothing as of yet. We can always hope he was killed in the battle but I drought we will be that lucky."

Rick was in his office with Max and Miyria talking about the battle when Lisa came in and sat down.

"Miyria what are your thoughts?"

"If what you heard is true and no ships left Breetai's fleet before the attack happen than I would say that the attack came from another fleet."

"Soo you believe we have more Zentraedi ships here now?" asked Lisa.

"I would guess that either Breetai requested attentional forces to search several of the star systems closes to Earth or Dolza is getting impatient and sent some."

"I think I know who we just fought. That command pod looks familiar. Kyron is here."

"That's not good Shipper, he is a loose cannon."

"Yes, but he is too stupid to listen to any warning Breetai will give him. He will rush in thinking he can destroy us easily."

"Won't he think different now that he lost?" Lisa asked.

Max replied. "No, he will just say we got lucky. In the old timeline Rick beat him in every engagement the two of them had. Exedor told us that Kyron just coughed it up to luck on Rick's part."

"No, he will keep coming till he is dead and the only way to insure that to happen is to destroy his ship first since it has all his data so he can be cloned again."

"If Kyron is here, Azonia may not be far behind."

Rick and Max looked at each other before Rick asked "What of your information on Azonia's ship. Could we end up facing you as well?"

Lisa looked at the three of them and saw the worry in their faces.

"I do not believe so. I can not see me being sent strait to Macross island if there was another me out there."

"I hope not." Max stated.

Donald Hayes was in a meeting with the council that oversaw the RDF. He had just briefed them on the latest battle.

"I want to send the Akagi and her fleet to relive Admiral Davis and his fleet."

"Admiral, what if the enemy attacks Earth?"

"If at any time it looks like a major attack is being taken against Earth than all ships will be recalled. We have enough ships and planet defenses to meet the attack here."

"Do we have enough ships to win if the whole enemy fleet attacks?"

"No but it will cost them most of their fleet to do it. Production has increased a great deal and we are building ships a lot faster now. If we can go another year the fourth fleet defense fleet will be finished. That will give us 5 fleets total."

"Why not just attack their fleet they have here now. Most of its ships are out looking for the SDF-1."

"Senator, if we were to do a major attack against us, we would lose and leave the Earth with little defense. As it is now, they are leaving the Earth and the ships guarding it alone."

"I take it you still have had no luck speaking with the enemy commander."

"No, the good news is that we believe we know the name of the race attacking us and the language they speak. We have developed a translation program that we think has been able to translate their language."

"Have you tried to send a message to them using the translation program to send the message in their own language yet."

"Not as of yet. We are using it to try to translate transmissions we have intercepted. We don't want them to know we can translate their language."

"I think that is enough, Admiral, you have given us a lot to think about. Go ahead and send the Akagi and her fleet, recall Admiral Davis."

With that all the screens started going black. Admiral Hayes turned to his aid.

"It could have gone worse. OK, let's head to the Operation Center, I got orders to hand out."

So, Kyron has arrived and lost like always. I drought he will ever learn his lesson.
