AU. The Baroness catches Maria's attention

This is a short exploration of some of the time between when Maria is met by the Captain and the Baroness upon her return from the abbey and the start of the gazebo scene. Basically, I want to understand the process of Maria ending up in that blue dress again.

We follow the broken family right after Agathe has passed away. How will the children and their father cope with such a big loss? How did this family turn into what we saw at the beginning of the movie? For full backstory read Every Changing Dynamics.

"You must go back; you must find out." When Maria leaves the abbey to return to the von Trapps, she makes a discovery which changes the course of her life. But when the Lord closes a door, surely somewhere he'll open a window? Please R&R.

One shot: A month into their honeymoon in Paris, Maria and Georg make the most of their first Christmas as man and wife.

It's time for Georg to publicly introduce Maria as his wife, and to share some other family developments.

Maria hopes that nothing ever changes how Georg looks at her.

Georg knew it was ridiculous to feel this way, but he couldn't help it.

While on their honeymoon, Maria borrows her husband's shirt and gets a reaction she wasn't expecting.

They let each other go once…they would never make that mistake again.

He silently started the car engine ready to pull onto the main road as Maria spoke: "never have I ever kissed in a car passionately."

Maria's face was very flushed that night, but not just from emotion and the exercise of dancing. Her rapidly-worsening illness halts her flight from the villa, and the Captain is forced to contend with the possibility of, once again, losing a woman he loves.

All the clichés were true – Maria's baby really was perfect. The only problem? The baby was born a week ago, and she and Georg still hadn't decided on a name.

“Do you still find me attractive?” Georg comforts Maria while she is feeling unsure of herself. Entirely saccharine Georg. Two chapters that work as one-shots! Complete.
