Sabaku no Kitsune (Omake 2): Sasuke's story
(Flashback; 3 and a half years earlier): With Sasuke
Sasuke awoke with a cold feeling all across his body as his eyes opened; under him he felt the softness and creaking springs of a mattress touching the skin of his bare back.

Sasuke saw his arm was missing just above the elbow, bandages wrapped around the stump and Sasuke began to scream in terror as he realized his arm was missing. As soon as he did that the door to the room opened up and a tan skinned girl with hazel eyes and brown hair entered.
"Papa, dat boy we done fish out de water woke up" Naha shouted as a tan skinned man entered the room; the man looked to be in his 40's and had slick back greasy black hair.

"S-Sasuke" Sasuke said taking some deep breaths "Sasuke Uchiha"; the girl Naha held him by his shoulders and began to comfort him until Sasuke spoke again. "W-were am I?" Sasuke asked and Naha spoke.
"You's in river country; in de swamps" Naha said "we done fish you outa de water a month ago naw; we's weren't sure if you's gonna ever wake up". Sasuke's eyes went wide and he spoke up.
"A month" Sasuke said wide eyed and Naha nodded; Sasuke turned his head to the side and saw a mirror and was horrified by what he saw. His slim muscular build was gone and he was now extremely thin with his ribs and bones showing; his black hair was now longer reaching his shoulders and his face was narrower and more thin showing her cheek bones. If Sakura and Ino saw him right now they'd probably wonder what happened to Sasuke the 'pretty boy' from the academy days.
"I have to get out of here" Sasuke said as he forced himself up despite Naha trying to stop him; Sasuke turned taking the blankets off of him and felt another cold sensation travel down his spine. Sasuke's left leg was amputated just above the knee it also wrapped in bandages "m-my leg" he said to no one in particular but Naha spoke up.
"Your leg had de gangrene; we had to chop it off" Naha said.
Sasuke began to feel despair as he fell back down onto the bed; not only was he not in Konoha, he was not in the land of fire, he was missing an arm and a leg and worse yet he was in no shape to travel.
"Damn" Sasuke said as he used his one remaining hand to cover his eyes and try and force himself awake; hoping everything was just a bad dream.
(1 month later)
Sasuke struggled to stand up as he tried to balance himself using his crudely made crutch and his right leg; Sasuke had a hard time trying to keep his balance because he leaned to his right side more for obvious reasons.
'Ok Sasuke, you got this' Sasuke thought as he tried to take a step forward and successfully did so; Sasuke took another step succeeded 'ok, so far so good'. Sasuke took a third step but he put his crutch down at a bad angle and tipped forward "SHIT" he shouted as he crashed to the floor hitting his forehead; Sasuke rolled over and sighed "crap".
The door to the room opened and Naha walked in "I tolds you, that you's not good to walk" Naha said as she walked over and lifted Sasuke up and put him back on his bed "you need recovery and your muscles need to heal".
Sasuke slapped away her hand and looked at her with a glare "get away from me; I don't need your help" he shouted; Naha raised her hand and slapped him across the face knocking him off the bed and onto the ground.
"Shut up naw damn it" Naha shouted "a month ago you couldn't even get outa de bed; I has to help you walk to the toilet, you need my help". Sasuke looked at her and tried to get up on his own but his weaken body couldn't do it and he fell to the ground.
"I-I don't need help" Sasuke said trying to sound strong but it came out weak "I-I-I'm a ninja, a member of the Uchiha clan". Sasuke grit his teeth and tried to force himself back up "I-I never needed help from anyone, I only could rely on myself" he said as he began to rise up "I-I worked to hard, sacrificed too much to quit now" he said.
Sasuke rose up and stood shakily on his one leg trying to keep his balance; but this did not last long as he fell to the side and back onto the bed "DAMN IT" Sasuke shouted in anger and slammed his fist onto the bed.
Sasuke then began to do something he hasn't done in a long time; Sasuke began to cry as he curled up into a ball on the bed. Sasuke couldn't do it, he knew he couldn't; Sasuke couldn't stand up for more than a minute without falling over, he couldn't walk, weave hand signs, he couldn't even write because he was predominantly left handed.
Sasuke couldn't function as a normal person let alone a ninja, not with his disabilities; this in turn made everything including killing Itachi nothing more than a fantasy. Sasuke sacrificed everything and pushed everyone away; now he was nothing more than a crippled, broken man.
As Sasuke felt his world collapse around him Naha saw him break down and rushed next to him and began to rub his back as he cried; Sasuke told her about him, how he comes from a powerful clan, how he was a ninja from Konoha. She knew he was a very stubborn and prideful man; but seeing him like this broke her heart.
"Sasuke, I'ma sorry; I didn't mean none of dat" Naha said softly as she comforted Sasuke "look at me"; Sasuke rolled over and Naha was about to speak until she gasped. "Oh my god; Sasuke, your eyes" Naha said in shock "you're bleedin'"; Naha began to wipe his face and Sasuke stopped her.
"What are you talking about?" Sasuke asked and Naha got up and got a mirror.

Sasuke was crying blood as his sharingan activated all on it's own taking a new shape; Sasuke had activated his Mangekyo Sharingan through his despair. Sasuke began to cry even more sobbing and whimpering; Sasuke then smiled and his sobs began to turn to chuckles then to full blow laughter as if someone told him the funniest joke he ever heard.
"I-I-I finally got it; the power I always wanted" Sasuke laughed to himself as Naha stood there stunned "and I can't even use it; because I can't even walk". Sasuke collapsed on the bed as he continued to laugh at the irony; he finally got the power he wanted, but what good would it do to a cripple like him.
The next day (Warning: Attempted Suicide)
Sasuke was standing on the edge of the bed using his hand on the wall to support himself; in front of him was a noose made from the rope of a fishing net that was in the room with him. He threw it over a rafter above him and tied it to the bed frame securing it.
Sasuke scooted forward and grabbed the noose and placed it around his neck and tightened it around his neck; as he took one final breath Sasuke close his eyes and remembered the two people he ever cared about. His mother Mikoto and the closest thing he had to a friend Naruto.
"Kami forgive me" Sasuke said as he leaned forward and fell off the bed hanging himself a foot of the ground; Sasuke felt the rope squeeze his neck as both his wind pipe and arteries depriving him of air and blood to the brain.
Sasuke choked and gagged as he swung from the rafter and voices began to play inside his head.

"Because everyone I care about… is already dead" Kakashi's voice echoed recalling their last conversation.
"Why do you care so much about me" Sasuke's own voice echoed in his mind.

Sasuke immediately shot his hand up and grabbed onto the rope and using his minimal amount of strength he had pulled himself up and took some breaths; as soon as he did this the door opened and Naha walked in.
"Sasuke I- Oh MY GOD" Naha shouted as she ran over and picked Sasuke up by his legs and held him up "PA, PA HELP!"

(6 months later): In the Swamps
Sasuke was standing on his new peg leg at the edge of a boat with a crossbow in his hand as Naha's father grabbed a piece of rope tied to a tree; Naha's father began to pull the rope up slowly towards him and looked at Sasuke.
"Get ready boy" Naha's father said and Sasuke nodded as he waited and aimed at the water; the rope continued to come up when something came to the surface. An alligators head appeared and just when it started to splash around Sasuke fired the crossbow and hit it; the bolt entered the back of the alligators head and it began to thrash and bleed out.
"Shit I missed" Sasuke said as he cocked back the crossbow one handed and readied another bolt.
"Nah you didn't boy" Naha's father said as the alligator began to slow down until it stopped and floated in the water "it was a death blow; dese here 'gators got a lot of fight in dem". Naha's father began to pull the six foot alligator into the boat and Sasuke put down his crossbow and and helped him "dis is a good size one, lot of meat for food and skin for leather" he said before walking over to Sasuke and patting his shoulder "good work son".
Sasuke smiled softly at this and nodded as he sat down and Naha's father began to row back to the village; both men enjoyed the sounds of nature around them as the boat sped along the water thanks to the engine.
Sasuke had his crossbow on his lap and scanning around when Naha's dad spoke up "my girl still mad at you?" he asked and Sasuke shook his head.
"No, she's fine with me; just constantly looking over my shoulder" Sasuke said before sighing "what I did was stupid and weak… I can't believe I did something so low".
Naha's dad nodded and spoke "when her mama died I was the same; I wished I died too, to be with her" he said "but I had my lil' Nah to look after; I couldn't leave her all alone". Naha's dad looked at Sasuke and spoke "my worst fear is her being alone… with no one to love or care about her; that's a fate worse than death" he said.

The village was currently on fire and people were shouting in the distance and Sasuke activated his sharingan and saw everything going on; there were men not from the village running around taking whatever they wanted and killing anyone who got in their way.
"Pirates" Sasuke said as he grabbed his crossbow and aimed towards the village "get me in closer and I can get a shot".
"Ok" Naha's father said as he gunned the engine and the boat approached the village faster; as it did so Sasuke aimed using his sharingan and found a target, a pirate looting from a boat.
Sasuke fired a bolt and two seconds later the bolt pierced through the pirates neck and he fell off the dock into the after; Sasuke reloaded and aimed again finding one of the pirates buddies coming to find him.
Sasuke fired another bolt and hit the man in the chest making him topple over just as the boat hit the pier; Sasuke reloaded his crossbow and slung it over his shoulder and grabbed a trident that he used for shallow water fishing. Naha's dad grabbed a hatchet and his knife and both of them got out of the boat and Naha's dad spoke.
"We gotta get to Naha" he said and Sasuke nodded; both Sasuke and Naha's father ran through the village as both the militia and the pirates fought each other. Upon turning a corner two pirates attacked and Sasuke and Naha's father defended themselves.
Sasuke was attacked by a pirate with a rust katana; the attack was sloppy and amateurish and Sasuke was able to kill him easily. Sasuke stabbed the man in the gut with the three pronged trident before pulling it back out and he fell over.
The second pirate attacked Naha's father with a spear; he side stepped a stab and went in with a chop from his hatchet. The hatchet buried itself into the pirates collar making him scream before Naha's father stabbed him in the temple with his knife killing him.
Naha's father looked at Sasuke and spoke "let go, we have to- GAH" he began but stopped when he was shot in the back with an arrow; Naha's father fell forward and Sasuke saw behind him there was a pirate with a bow.
Sasuke changed his grip on the trident and threw it at the pirate hitting him in the chest and killing him; Sasuke looked down at Naha's father and saw he was dead, the arrow piercing his heart and killing him.
Sasuke felt rage build up inside him but kept his cool as he bent down and grabbed the knife from Naha's father; he then turned and ran as fast as he could down the pier.
As he approached the house he heard a scream "Naha" Sasuke said softly as he ran over and slammed into the door breaking it down. Sasuke saw three pirates holding Naha down on a table ripping off her cloths trying to force themselves on her.
As everyone turned to Sasuke he put the knife in between his teeth and grabbed his crossbow; he aimed and shot a pirate who was trying to remove Naha's underwear. The bolt hit the pirate in the neck severing his artery making him fall to the ground to choke on his own blood.
"Fuck, get him" one of the other pirates shouted as they let go of Naha and ran towards Sasuke; Sasuke grabbed his knife and slashed cutting the throat of a pirate before the second one punched him in the face. Sasuke was knocked down before the pirate picked him up and punched him again; Sasuke threw a punch of his own but the pirate dodged and spoke.
"You fucked up boy, bringing one hand to a fist fight" the pirate said before grabbing Sasuke with both arms pining his arm against his side and squeezing Sasuke; Naha looked on terrified as Sasuke was being crushed.
Sasuke was facing towards the man with his chest being against the pirates and the pirate spoke "what now boy?" he said with a smile. Sasuke without a moments hesitation reached out and bit the man on the neck; Sasuke ripped out the mans throat and arteries with his teeth before spitting it out and looking at Naha covered in blood.
"You ok?" Sasuke asked and Naha nodded shaking in fear; outside Sasuke heard shouts as he turned around and saw the pirates retreating from the village "no you don't". Sasuke ran out with Naha in her torn clothes following behind; Sasuke ran to the end of the nearby dock and saw the pirates leaving on their boats, five in total.
Sasuke raised his right hand and tried to go through one handed hand signs "shit" he cursed as he tried again and failed "fuck". Sasuke took a deep breath and went through hand signs completing the jutsu.
"Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu" Sasuke fired a dozen small fireballs at the five retreating boats setting them all on fire as they sailed a good distance away; the poorly built boats burned like a pile of dried timber and the results were instant.
The pirates who were on the boats maybe about fifty in total all jumped into the water in a panic and that was their final mistake; alligator who heard the commotion came over and began to feed on the pirates in the water as screams and splashes echoed in the distance.
Sasuke turned around and saw Naha who was shaking in fear from what happened; he walked over and wrapped his arm around her and spoke "it's ok, we're going to be ok" he said softly.
