Season 4 Episode 7- Broken

Leo woke up with a gasp as his eyes snapped open. He looked around, realizing that he's on the floor with a confused frown.

'What? What's going on?' He thought to himself. Leo had a hard time believing he went to sleep on the floor for fun.

He used his hands to slowly lift himself up from the floor as he got on his feet, swaying with eyes that were slightly red. He looked over himself and at the slightly blurry floor in confusion. He rubbed his itchy eyes with a groan so that he could see more clearly.

Then, with a gasp, everything came back to him. His body went stiff in terror as he understood the situation at hand.

"Karai…" He whispered with wide eyes that were full of panic.

"Guys! Guys!" He yelled in a hurry, making doors swing open. Leo could hear hurried footsteps as his family ran over to where he was standing.

"Leonardo? What is it?" Splinter asked, startled as he clenched at his walking stick, looking at his red eyes in worry.

Leo grit his teeth as he squeezed his eyes shut in disappointment of himself.

"It's Karai! She…" Leo looked at Donnie for a second, making him flinch in response with wide eyes.

Leo's shoulders went slack with a sigh as he continued his sentence.

"She left to get revenge. She said that she's doing it for herself and Donnie. She's probably heading over to where Shredder is as we speak." Leo sighed as he looked at the floor in sadness.

The family gasped, as Donnie stared at Leo with guilt and sorrow, his eyes widening as his irises shrank in fear.

"Are you kidding me?! We just bailed her out!" Raph exclaimed as he huffed in anger.

"That's a bummer." Mikey commented with a pout.

Too preoccupied with the situation, no one noticed Donnie's fearful reaction as Splinter declared. "We shall go and retrieve her. Donatello, wait here." No one looked at Donnie as they ran to grab their weapons. Donnie wondered to himself why his father felt the need to tell him to stand down if that's the new norm.

Then, as soon as they came, they left for the Foot's HQ to stop Karai from doing something very stupid.

Donnie stood with a distant look on his face as he stared at the empty lair's exit, not moving from his position since he came to check on Leo.

He could feel tears prick at his eyes as he fell on his knees, the deafening silence in the lair adding much more to his guilt and sorrow.

"Why?" Donnie asked as tears started to stream down his cheeks. He clawed at his face as he yelled.

"WHY MUST IT ALWAYS BE MY FAULT?! JUST LET ME COME AND FIX MY MISTAKES. LET ME HELP!" He yelled at the lair's exit, practically to no one.

Donnie sobbed as he lowered his head to the floor.

"I can't. I just can't do this anymore." He whispered with a hic as he sobbed.

"My sister… My family… My friends… Because of me…" Donnie wiped his tears as he bit his lower lip.

"I'll pay the price for existing. I'll repay all of you for everything you've done for me."
