Revelations 2: The Revolt on God's Servants Part 1

"Showtime ladies, all units, move out!" The leader of the JSSDF commanded over communications, all of the soldiers locked and loaded as they begin their infiltration of NERV HQ.

NERV HQ, Command Center

The commander center had become a living thing as all personnel began adding themselves, all outside surveillance being blown to hell one after another, leaving them with no sight of the outside world. Everyone braced themselves as explosions and demolition breached the out perimeters, NERV infantry bracing themselves for the oncoming assault.

"I can already hear the explosions...it's a good thing we had some kind of intel or this would get even uglier..." Aoba sighed, cocking the back on the lever to his MP5 before removing a Glock 9mm from the drawer.

"You're telling me, I can't even imagine how catastrophic this would've been without any intelligence...how long do you think it will take for me then to arrive in the command center?" Maya sighed, loading her pistol as well.

"My guess? Within the hour if they have a floor plan," Hyuga replied, taking a deep breath as he checked the sights on his pistol.

"Go ahead and deploy the LCL ballistic solution, that will give us us time to get the pilots in the Evangelion," Fuyutski ordered, keeping a cool head as millions of thought ram through his mind. Could they really defend themselves? What was Gendo doing? All of these thoughts and more raced through his consciousness as he focused. Misato cocked the slide on her Beretta, holstering it before approaching Hyuga at his station.

"What's the status on the pilots?" Misato ordered, keeping her voice calm and collected.

"Asuka has been suited up, I took the initiative and told them to store her at the bottom of the lake in Unit 02," Hyuga replied, Misato sighing to calm her nerves.

"That was a good call Hyuga thank you. I can see that Rei is still missing but where is Shinji...?" Misato's heart froze as Hyuga flushed through the available surveillance.

"Shinji got cut off on his way back to the command center, he's currently hiding in medical supply storage room 05. That area is already being swarmed by infantry as we speak! Wait...what the hell?" Hyuga's and Misato's eyes widened as surveillance caught sight of Gendo is Shinji's area, armed as if searching.

"What the hell is the Commander doing there?! Is...he actually trying to save Shinji?!" Misato's voice cracked, immediately taking off at top speed towards their location, two obligations now on her plate. Hyuga, scratches behind his head, taking a heavy breath and gazing around at the chaos.

"This is madness, even the Commander is losing his cool...I don't like it..." Hyuga closed his eyes, sitting back in his chair and trying his best to relax his everything before the real assault began.

NERV HQ, Command Center Entrance A, Armory

Fifty NERV operatives were huddled together in the armory near the first entrance to HQ CC. A man stood at the front, several badges indicating he was the head militant of the platoon.

"I want a gun in the hand of every single NERV personnel stat! Move! Move! Move!" Captain Iori Satsura yelled out, tossing cases full of pistols and ammunition down the line of soldiers like a water line to put out a fire in the old days. Iori was an older gentleman, having at least 15 years of age of age over the next oldest recruit. Having served the JSSDF in the past before retirement, he knew damn well what they were in for.

"Captain! Incoming status report! The enemy has already broken through the third floor! ETA of the enemy will be in proximately 32 minutes!" a security officer called out. Iori's face tensed up, his teeth clenching tight as he hastened his movements.

"Shit! That's way sooner than I was hoping! Hustle men! Hustle! Double time!" Iori commanded, practically throwing the artillery at his men to arm everyone before quickly checking his own firearms, his MP5, his Glock, and his SW revolver, all loaded and ready to fire.

"Alright everyone in position! Squad 1, You're with me at the front! Squad 2, arm everyone immediately!" Iori ordered, everyone giving him a firm salute and scrambling. Iori sighed and took out a cigarette, lighting it and taking a firm drag of it before moving forward down the hall entrance.

"Alright men, let's take the fight to them then retreat and bottle neck them into the entrance. I won't say that any of us will survive this, but I do want you to know that in all my years of serving, this is my proudest moment for both myself and all of you, LET'S GIVE THEM HELL!!!" Iori let out a rallying shout, his men getting hyped up for battle despite the severe experience and skill gap between themselves and the enemy. Undermanned and under armed, they ran through the halls like a true trained unit, checking corners and making point room scans, making sure not to push too far beyond the point of no retreat.

The sounds of explosions in the far distance was unnerving, like the rolling thunder of a devastating lightning storm slowly approaching them. 30 minutes felt like a year as their hearts raced and their blood pumped, sweat pouring down their faces as the sounds of explosions, gunfire and screams of their fellow personnel echoed through the halls. With a deafening boom the hall was filled with flying shrapnel of steel and ballistic gel, the JSSDF soldiers tossing grenades into the hall.

"Use the corners and walls men! The battle has begun!" Iori shouted, everyone taking cover and desperately covering their ears as the room erupt and shook from the explosions, like an earthquake has just ripped through the Earth. As the enemy's footsteps marched down the hall, Iori gave the command to pen fire, himself and 9 other men shooting from around the walls, shouting coming from the enemy as several soldiers were killed. The hall was soon flooded with soldiers rushing them, five of the NERV security team looking at Iori with pale, horrified eyes.

"RETREAT SIR! WE'LL SLOW THEM DOWN!" One of them shouted, Iori giving the order to retreat as their brave comrades turned the corner and rained fire at the enemy, their bodies immediately becoming riddled with bullets as they took at least 1 man each. They bought them enough time to get around another corner.

"Open fire!!!" The room was filled with the sound of SMG gunfire as they preemptively fired, taking down several over eager soldiers.

"Change!" The front 5 operatives swapped with the next, letting their SMGs roar as the others reloaded. five minutes felt like an eternity as they continually shuffled, finally having to finally retreat as their reserves ran low, taking at least a dozen bodies. It was a major success, but sadly, not a turning point. As they ran to retreat, the back line was lit up with gunfire, screams of agony filling the hall as another 10 men fell, leaving Squad 1 with a 10 men left. Squad 2 tensed up as they heard the approaching chaos, all non-security personnel finally locked and loaded, ready to defend themselves and the command center at all costs.

"Sir...we're going to get pinned down, let the rest of us hold them while you retreat to Squad 2, you're the only truly experienced Captain we have, they'll need you," one of Iori's closest friends put his hand on Iori's shoulder, fearful but proud tears filling his eyes. Iori sighed heavily, knowing damn well he shouldn't die here.

"Thank you, my friend, go with God, I'll meet you there soon," Iori replied, giving his friend a firm pat on the shoulder, the other men saluting him, prepared to die to give him the opportunity to make it back. Gritting his teeth, Iori took flight, his breathing hefty as he hastily retreated, the remaining 9 men surrending their lives in a blaze of glory. Iori's heart sank as he soon heard the bullet storm, the screams of his brave men scratching at the air violently.

"God damn it!" Iori screamed, forcing his legs to run away with their desire to stand and fight becoming overwhelming.

NERV HQ, Medical Floor

As Shinji hid, he covered his ears, gunfire and explosions filling the area just out side his locked metal door. He had no idea what was going on or why, all he knew is he had to find some way, any way to get back to Misato.

"What do I do...?" Shinji sighed, deep in thought as the door to his room shook before being blown open. Shinji clung to his legs for dear life, holding his breath as he heard several men approaching him.

"We've located the Third Child, executing him now...sorry kid. It's nothing personal..." The soldier smirked, putting the cold steel barrel of his gun to Shinji's head, making him flinch. It was if time stood still until suddenly gunfire was heard outside the door. Shinji's eyes shot up as the soldiers turned to the entrance, covering his ears. His eyes widened with shock and disbelief as the image of his father appeared before him, gun in hand and executing each of them without a hint of emotion or fear.

"Father?!" Shinji thought, Gendo putting a bullet in the head of the soldier that had the gun to his head.

"Let's go Shinji, we need to get you back to Katsuragi," Gendo replied, holding his hand out, a small smirk on his face. Shinji took his hand, allowing him to help him up.

"Why now father?! Why now of all times did you finally decide to act like a parent?!" Shinji barked, Gendo glaring at him and sighing softly.

"I need you to fight, and I got a headstart on Katsuragi. Now come on Shinji, we need to hurry," Gendo calmly replied, Shinji apprehensively following. He wouldn't admit it, but seeing his father save his life filled him with a warmth he had never felt before, not that he remembered anyway. So he followed, letting his father lead him back to his caretaker and to the hope that he can save them all.

Shinji covered his ears each time Gendo pulled his gun, carefully picking off the stray soldiers with shots to the chest along the way before reloading his pistol with a magazine in his pocket. It was a very strange feeling seeing his father protect him like an actual parent, granted it was for him to fulfill an order, but all the same, it was nice. Shinji's eyes widened as he saw Misato turn the corner, her shoes sliding along the ground.

"Oh God Shinji! You're OK!" Misato shouted, running up and hugging him tightly, slight tears rolling down her eyes.

"Make sure he makes it to the Evangelion, Major Katsuragi. I suggest the emergency elevators since I'm sure they will cut the power to primary systems soon," Gendo ordered before turning his eyes towards Shinji.

"Good luck Shinji," Gendo said as he left them, running in the opposite direction. Shinji's cheeks were slightly red, his heart jumping in his chest from his father's acknowledgement despite all the hate and sorrow. Misato quickly wiped her eyes and drew her firearm as she put her sights on Shinji.

"Follow closely Shinji, we need to make it to my car then we'll get you to the Eva," Misato immediately led in forward, staying vigilant.

"Is Asuka and Rei alright?"

"Asuka's currently suited up and inside Unit 02 at the bottom of the lake. God knows if she'll be able to fight, but at least she'll be safe there for awhile. As for Rei, none of us know where she is, which concerns me," Misato whipped around the corner, sweeping for signs of the enemy as they moved onward.

"I hope she's okay...I'm still freaked out by the whole...Ritsuko thing...but I still want her to be OK..." Shinji's voice was barely above a whisper, Misato giving him a subtle nod as they continued cautiously.

Terminal Dogma, Defunct Dummy Plug System Information Center

Rei stood silently in the room filled with death, her own faces disintegrated and decaying staring back at her as she coldly stared.

"..." Rei recited, her eyes analyzing all of the remnants of her cloned bodies, both fascinated and mortified by the display. She ran her finger all along the glass as she circled the room, her eyes empty before suddenly pausing, as if being called to.

"Ikari...did Ikari just call for me...?" Her tone was barely above a whisper, her eyes gazing off into the distance. The lights in her eyes slowly returned as thoughts of Shinji took over her mind, leaving the room to head towards parts only she knew.
