All she saw was a silhouette of a gun,
Far away on the other side.
She did the one thing she should not have done, she ran. Why she didn't know, she had never run from him before, but this was a Sesshomaru she didn't know, somehow he seemed even colder now than then. Of course, she didn't have her bow, go figure.
She turned to look back, to see if he was behind her, he wasn't; she turned and almost ran straight into his sword. She came to a halt before it, her eyes looking at the fang before her eyes met his.
"Sesshomaru," She said, shocked putting her hands up,
"Perhaps the answer is simple, Miko."
She swallowed,
"Perhaps it is your doing that causes this, you alone seem to be the key."
"No, that's not right; why would the jewel send me back just for that."
"Perhaps I am meant to kill you, not save you."
"The jewel -
"The jewel stated you will die either way."
He backed her up till she hit a wall,
"We live, and you die, or we die, and you die."
She nodded,
"We are already dead to you; the only course of action is to kill you."
"But what if I am just born again, and this is just a never-ending thing!"
He smirked. "You have told me what I need to know; I will seek out Inuyasha after I kill you, then I will kill him."
He pressed his sword into her,
"You would just kill me?" That didn't seem right to her, sure he was a killer, but, "You don't kill without good reason!" She pleaded,
"This is reason enough."
"But it's not Inuyasha that causes all this!" She pleaded,
"Then, I shall kill the Miko too."
"Sesshomaru,"
He lifted the sword, "Be silent and take your death; it is your life you wished to sacrifice; is it not?"
Kagome put her hands up and began to glow bright and pink; his sword came down but was met with a barrier, he could not push through it, but he could hear her screams, and then with a bright power, she was gone.
Just gone.
Sesshomaru stared at the spot. Did he kill her? Did she kill herself?
No matter, she was gone, and he had a baby to hunt.
His father's human mate had him tucked tight to her when he arrived; she would die protecting him.
"Give my brother to me," He said darkly,
"Sesshomaru," She whispered,
He raised his sword again as the power came up; he had a good reason for this. "Let him die; you will save him from a life of torment and pain."
Still, she held the baby close to her. "Then you will have to kill me too," She said,
"As you wish."
But just as his sword came down, another power shot out and seem to suck him up; it was the same pink power that had wrapped around the Miko.
With a blind cry, his eyes turned red, his sword pulsed, and then he saw nothing but darkness.
When he woke up, he knew something was wrong; something had happened, and time had passed.
He growled; what had that damn Miko done! Her words about him trying to kill her played over and over in his head; it was apparent, he would never be able to kill her, which meant she was still alive someplace. Was this her plan all along? Was this her doing?
He stumbled around and came across a battle; it was a pointless one, but then he recognized the imp, and the Miko's story played over in his mind, and he knew today was the day he would meet Jaken.
