Adrien logged off his computer and headed for the kitchen. He needed a fortifying snack for he was dreading today, for today he had promised Ladybug (not as Cat Noir, but as Adrien) to help with the annual dog wash day. Why had he agreed to this? As much as he loved hanging out with Ladybug, the Feared Dog himself Speckles would be there. Adrien shuddered. Speckles was actually a sweet dog, but the last time Adrien had volunteered, he'd be the one ending up in the tub, and when he finally came up for air, Speckles was there to greet him with a wet pink lolling tongue. Yuk.
Piling a plate of cookies and a glass of milk, Adrien also stacked a small pile of Plagg's favorite cheese, Camembert, to the pile.
"Plagg, will you come in the closet with me?" Adrien called, wondering where his Kwami was hiding. Plagg, who could likely smell the cheese, came zooming out hiding and followed Adrien.
"Why'd you shut the door?" Plagg asked, "And are you crawling into your Ladybug merch box?" Adrien smiled. "Here is your cheese, and don't ask questions."
The box which on the front read: Ladybug Merch, Property of Adrien Agreste, Keep Out!
Plagg snickered. "Ooh, do I smell trouble in paradise?" Adrien winced. "Okay, I'm hiding from M'lady!" Plagg's mouth nearly hit the cheese plate. "I'd never thought I'd hear you breathe those words!" "Its dog washing day, and I don't want to see Speckles." "Suit yourself, kid. And thanks for the cheese!" Plagg cried, gleefully.
Adrien switched on his flashlight, catching up with the latest Ladybug comic his classmate made. An hour so passed, and Adrien was begin to relax. Then, he heard a thump and groaned. Oh, cheese and crackers! Bugaboo was here!
"Adrien, what are you doing hiding in a cupboard box?" Ladybug crossed her arms when she found her best friend hiding. "Enjoying your merch?" "Adrien." "Okay, I'm hiding from Speckles!" "Speckles is a good boy!" "So I am, but I don't wash people with my tongue!" Adrien cried. Wait, hm. Maybe as Cat sometimes, but never Adrien….
Ladybug beginning to tell him about being responsible and Adrien stopped listening. "Are you paying attention?" she asked, snapping him out of a daydream. "Yeah, I'm admiring your beautiful face." "Nice try. Now come on!"
Adrien sighed, feeling the pins and needles feeling as he stood up. "Will you protect me from Speckles, Little Bug?" Ladybug laughed, taking his hand. "I promise, now let's go wash some doggies!"
