Flamberges Narration: So… wanna hear a funny story? Right before we started the whole big Yo-Kai gathering quest thing… I dueled Kaiba.

…No, not SETO Kaiba, another Kaiba!

Was it rough? …Yeah it was. But it's what happened AFTER the fact… that is the crazy part. And well, it's the reason I have a Duel Spirit now.

It all started after I lost to Shuffle, before the Unite Battle Started…

A white-haired woman could be seen walking through the crowd, her eyes darting through faces and figures to try and find the one person she was looking for, a variant of Kaiba's DSOD Duel Disk on her wrist that was blue and white, as her blue eyes kept on darting.

"Where is he… where IS he!?" The woman growled to herself, as she was donned in a white coat with blue highlights, complete with a white polo underneath, blue pants, and black boots with white lace-ups. Her coat was open out the top so her DD breasts covered by her polo were seen, as she continued walking along. As she did, people whispered and murmured around her.

"Is that Kaiba's daughter?"

"What's she doing here? Isn't she supposed to be at Kaiba Corps' booth?"

"Don't get in her way, that's a KAIBA you're talking about!"

The voices were annoyances to the woman, before she snapped, turning to the mumblers. "If you're not going to say anything nice about me amongst yourselves then can any of you point me out to a duelist named Lan?" The woman demanded as she folded her arms with a growl.

This silenced the people, as the woman growled and kept walking on.

As the woman walked by, she passed by a certain spiky red-haired mage reorganizing her deck after losing her last duel.

"There we go. Now my deck isn't stacked with monsters anymore!" Flamberge said. "I should probably get going to the Unite Battle now. Don't wanna miss Alice throwing down with Mark…"

Flamberge was so busy talking to herself and heading out, thoughts on her reorganized deck, she wasn't watching where she was going and….

"OOOF!"

She collided with the white-haired woman.

"Urgh! Watch where you're going, you'll harm yourself!" The woman exclaimed.

"Sorry, that's my bad!" Flamberge said, recovering from the collision.

"Ugh, you're fine. I'm looking for a duelist named Lan. Have you seen him?" The woman asked.

"Huh? Lan? Yeah, I know him." Flamberge said. "He was with me a couple of minutes ago."

"Where did he go afterward?" The woman before the fire mage asked, Flamberge could see her perk up a bit as if the news was the best news she'd heard.

"Why do you wanna know?" Flamberge asked inquisitively.

"Tch. That's none of your business. Only my fa-" The woman began but almost said too much as she stopped herself, but Flamberge could piece together it was business dealing with her father….

"You're looking for Lan because of some business regarding your dad?" Flamberge guessed. "The only reason I can think of someone wanting to search for Lan is to take him on in a duel," Flamberge said. "See, he's this really strong duelist, and-"

"Of course I know that. He's the only one who's defeated my father since Yu-" She blurted it again! "Oooh…! Just tell me where he is already!"

Flamberge couldn't help but notice how flustered the woman looked, and the slight hints she was giving. Her eyes then fixed on the woman's duel disk. "Hey… isn't that a Kaibacorp duel disk?"

"The latest model. I helped my father make it." The woman spoke proudly before her eyes widened. She had said too much again!

"Wait a minute-!" Flamberge realized. "You helped make that duel disk?! And you said you helped your… Oh my GOD! You wouldn't happen to be related to-!"

"Tch… …I am." The woman sighed.

And just like that, the puzzle clicked. As for her success had been playing around the Yu-Gi-Oh area quite a bit. Seto's daughter. An innovator, a genius at her craft, and, currently, an undefeated duelist at 126-0. And she was only 20 years old.

Hurota Kaiba. The adopted daughter of Seto Kaiba.

Something Flamberge didn't know up until now.

"SETO KAIBA HAS A DAUGTHER?!"

"Must you make it so public…!?" Hurota exclaimed, holding her ears as everyone looked at the two of them, moreso at Flamberge. And cue a fan or two begging Hurota to sign their duel disks, to which she sighed, smiling and doing so, before turning back to Flamberge. "Now out of my way. I need to avenge my father by beating Lan."

"Wait, that's what this is about?" Flamberge asked.

Hurota nodded. "14 Months ago, my father was kidnapped by Theodore Flux to be forcefully turned into his slave. A member of his "Hero Team" the Tumultuous 20, as he announced to the public. Utter nonsense! I knew from the start that my father would loathe the revelation if he ever realized it, and lo and behold I was right. Still, he remembers well the humiliation… the crushing, absolute defeat at the hands of Lan… a stain to the Kaiba name. As such, he tasked me to clear his name, since Mokuba won't do it. Someone has to." Hurota explained. "Now for the last time, get out of my way. Or are you not convinced I'm capable of defeating Lan?"

Hurota was about to move, but Flamberge got a courageous, yet stupid idea, and stood in her way.

"Whoa, whoa whoa! You wanna get to Lan first for a duel? You gotta go through me!" Flamberge said as the gathered crowd gasped.

"Is she crazy?!"

"She's challenging HUROTA!?"

"Will Hurota even waste her time here!?"

"...Tch. You're incredibly stupid. But I'd expect much from a low-classer… but fine. You can help me test the sheer might of my deck, as I crush you in a simple number of turns." Hurota declared as she snapped her fingers, a dueling field popping up underneath them to make it safe for the area around them thanks to its built-in forcefield.

"Alright, let's do this!" Flamberge said, ready to go… before she realized she was missing something. "Oh, wait a second… crap!" she looked out to the crowd. "Does anyone have a spare duel disk I can borrow?!" she called out.

"Here's a spare of mine. But it's your loss!" A man laughed, tossing Flamberge a D-Pad duel disk.

"Thanks!" Flamberge said, inserting her deck into the deck holder function and activating the D-Pad Disk.

Hurota activated her DSOD Duel Disk, as it sparked, making her hair float as cybernetics would attach to the left side of her head like it did for her father, as the duel field came alive.

"Augmented Reality Field established." A computer voice declared as the first turn was decided for Hurota to be going first.

"My first actual Solid Vision Duel! I'm all fired up! This is gonna be one red-hot match!" Flamberge declared.

"Hmph. It'll be over in a quick split." Hurota declared simply.

Let's Duel./Duel!

Hurota: 8000 LP

VS.

Flamberge: 8000 LP

(Cue: Shining Road - Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's WC 2011 OST)

"My turn." Hurota declared.

Hurota Opening Hand:

Crush Card Virus

Krystal Avatar

Counter Gate

The Caveman that Awoke After a Millennium

Pot of Greed

"I'll start with the Spell Card Pot of Greed!" Hurota declared. "This lets me draw 2 cards from my Deck!"

Hurota Drew:

Shrine of Wedju

Millennium Fiend Reflection

"I activate the Field Spell Shrine of Wedju!" Hurota declared, as the field around everyone warped and changed to the scene of an ancient Egyptian Temple, as behind Hurota, the carvings of the five pieces of Exodia were displayed. "With this Field Spell in play, once per turn during my Main Phase, I can place two monsters face up in my Spell and Trap Zone, one from my hand, and one from my Deck! I'll use it now, placing Millennium Fiend Reflection and Millenniumoon Maiden face up in my Spell and Trap Zones!"

The new variants of the old cards appeared in Hurota's back row, as they resided there casually for now.

"Next, from my hand, I place The Caveman that Awoke After a Millennium from my hand Face-Up in the Spell and Trap Zones! Only he won't stay there, as I use his effect! By paying 2000 Life Points…" Hurota would declare.

Hurota LP: 8000 - 6000

"I'm allowed to special summon him to my field in Attack Mode!" Hurota declared.

The Caveman that Awoke After a Millennium

EARTH Level 8 Beast-Warrior

ATK: 2750

"And since I did so, his second effect kicks in, letting me add a Millennium monster from my Deck to my hand!" Hurota declared, fwipping out a card. "But the card I just added won't be around long, as I send it to my Graveyard to add this to my hand: The Millennium Ankh!" Hurota declared, showing Flamberge the spell she just traded the unnamed monster for.

"What's that do?" Flamberge asked.

"Very simple. It allows me… to BREAK THE SEAL! Millennium Ankh! ACTIVATE!" Hurota declared, activating the Ankh. "With the effect of my Millennium Ankh, I reveal all five pieces of Exodia! Combine and merge!"

All 5 pieces of Exodia The Forbidden One were revealed from Hurotas deck before they glowed to make way for something fierce.

"Behold, Exodia in its purest form! Come forth from deep slumber, and obliterate all foes who dare defy me! I Fusion Summon, THE UNSTOPPABLE EXODIA INCARNATE!" Hurota exclaimed.

The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate

"I set my remaining three cards face down and end my turn. Your move. Let's see what your pathetic cards can muster." Hurota declared.

Counter Gate

"Oh… oh boy," Flamberge said nervously before shaking her head and calming her nerves. "Get it together, Berge! You didn't lose to Shuffle and declare to keep dueling just to get nervous now!" she said, slapping her face before taking her turn. "It's my turn!" she declared, taking her draw phase.

Turn 2: Flamberge

Opening Hand:

Fury of Fire

Block Attack

Salamangreat Jack Jaguar

Salamangreat Fowl

Salamangreat Spinny

Card Drawn- Salamangreat Circle

"(Okay, think Berge. She likely has a powerful monster in that beastly Exodia, and it's protected by 3 spells and traps. 5 if you count those monsters she put in the back row. Since this Exodia has no points, I'm positive one of those cards is Crush Card Virus. She's expecting me to switch it to defense, and then use Exodia's effect to thwart that, whatever it is… I just have to find a way to swap Exodia to defense, and then use Jack Jaguar for a piercing blow!)" Flamberge thought. "I'll first activate Fury of Fire!"

"Hm. Trying to swarm your field? Exodia, negate!" Hurota scoffed, using Exodia Incarnates Negation ability to destroy Fury of Fire.

"(She fell for the bait hook line and sinker! Now to show my mettle by destroying that Exodia!)" Flamberge nodded. "No Fury of Fire? No Problem! I summon Salamangreat Jack Jaguar in Attack Mode!"

Salamangreat Jack Jaguar

ATK: 1800

"And since I summoned a Salamangreat monster to the field, I can also Special Summon Salamangreat Fowl!"

Salamangreat Fowl

ATK: 1800

"With Fowl on my field, by sending Jack Jaguar to the grave for now, I can choose a set spell or trap card on your side of the field, and lock it down for the rest of my turn! I'll choose… your left face down!" Flamberge guessed.

"(That was my Crush Card! How did she accurately guess where I placed it!?)" Hurota growled. "(Insane… I had hoped placing it not in the middle would have thrown her off but… she guessed it! Now the main strategy I had falls flat!)"

"And now since your Exodias effect has been used up, it's the perfect time to activate my Salamangreat Circle! It lets me add another Salamangreat monster from my deck to my hand!" Flamberge said, searching out the monster she wanted, shuffling her deck right after. "Now I'll send another Salamangreat card to the grave from my hand, to bring out this guy who I just added to my hand! The tuner monster, Salamangreat Tiger!"

Salamangreat Tiger

ATK: 2000

"You know what they say, twos company, threes a crowd! So I'm going to make things a little more hotter for you! Because since I've got a Salamangreat monster already on the field, I can bring another one to the field, straight from my graveyard! Say hello to Salamangreat Spinny!"

Salamangreat Spinny

ATK: 1000

"And now it's time… to Blaze my Circut!" Flamberge announced as a Link Circut was created in the sky above her. "This monster I'm summoning out requires 1 Cyberse-type monster that's level 4 or lower. So I'm setting Salamangreat Spinny in the link arrows, to Link Summon… Salamangreat Balelynx!"

The flaming armadillo shot into the center down link arrow, which allowed a new monster to emerge from the circuit. A cybernetic lynx with rocket boosters on its back and lower half almost reminiscent of a Wheelchair, with a flaming tail.

Salamangreat Balelynx

Link 1

ATK: 500

"A pathetic showing. You expect to beat me with a card like that!?" Hurota growled.

"Don't let his looks fool you, as he's quite the resourceful little guy," Flamberge said. "When Balelynx is successfully Link Summoned, I can fetch Salamangreat Sanctuary from my Deck!"

"Fine. I suppose it's finally time I did this. You've triggered the effects of Fiend Reflection and Millenniumoon Maiden!" Hurota declared. "I now special summon both monsters to my field in Defense Mode!"

Millennium Fiend Reflection

WIND Level 4 Illusion

DEF: 1400

Milleniumoon Maiden

LIGHT Level 4 Illusion

DEF: 1300

"You're not the only one who gets more monsters! In addition to Balelynx fetching me Salamangreat Sanctuary, Jack Jaguar's effect activates from the graveyard, allowing me to bring him back and link him up to Balelynx by shuffling a Salamangreat monster in my grave back into my deck, like my Spinny!"

Salamangreat Jack Jaguar

ATK: 1800

"But the effects of Fiend Illusion and my Maiden now get to resolve. First, Maiden's protective Magic shields all Level 5 and higher monsters on my field from being targeted by card effects, and Fiend Illusion targets one monster on my field and increases my Life Points equivalent to half their attack. As such, I choose my Caveman!" Hurota declared.

Caveman ATK: 2750

2750/2 = 1,375

Hurota LP: 6000 - 7375

"Summoning more monsters to back you up? Guess that means I'd better turn up the heat some more!" Flamberge said. "First I activate Tigers effect! He can reduce his level to 4 once per turn! And now it's go time! I tune my Tiger with my Fowl!" Flamberge said as Salamangreat tiger and Fowl synchronized. "Burst forth in your white hot blue flames and unleash your mighty roar! I Synchro Summon! Salamangreat Burst Gryphon!"

Salamangreat Burst Gryphon

FIRE Level 8 Cyberse Synchro

ATK: 2800

"Hehehe…." Hurota chuckled darkly.

"What's so funny!?" Flamberge exclaimed.

"A valiant effort. I might be scared for my Caveman's safety… if not for a Special card in my Grave. Did you recall that I had to send a monster to my Graveyard to add the Millennium Ankh to my hand?" Hurota asked Flamberge.

"Yeah, what about it?"

(Cue: Blue-Eyes White Dragon Theme - Yu-Gi-Oh DM OST)

"Because, that monster's effect activates from my Grave whenever you Special Summon a monster that meets the following criteria. Either it has 3000 or more Attack… or… It's a Level 8 or Higher monster." Hurota smiled darkly.

"...Wait… Gryphon is…!" Flamberge gasped.

"A Level 8 monster. CHYAH!" Hurota roared, flipping the card out of her Graveyard. "With the light emanating from this mighty beast, I blast your monster right to your Graveyard!" Hurota yelled, as a burst of lightning crashed into Burst Gryphon, sending it to the grave!

"Ah! Oh no!" Flamberge exclaimed.

"Oh yes. Now, the mighty beast that caused your strongest monster's disappearance shall make itself known! I Special Summon from my Graveyard, by the power of the activation of the Millennium Ankh! BLUE-EYES OF THE HEART!" Hurota exclaimed, slapping down a new variant of Blue-Eyes White Dragon!

The Dragon roared in mighty power as it always has, flying up and roaring at the fire mage before it.

Blue-Eyes of the Heart

LIGHT Level 8 Dragon

ATK: 3000

"Wouldn't be a Kaiba if I didn't have a Blue-Eyes, now would I?" Hurota smiled as Blue-Eyes of the Heart roared behind her.

"Yeah, you got me there…" Flamberge said.

"So, now what will you do? With Unstoppable Exodia and my Blue-Eyes now on the field and one of your strongest monsters destroyed, the only sensible thing you can do now is-" Hurota tried to play mind games on Flamberge.

"Activate the spell card, Block Attack!" Flamberge exclaimed.

"Wha-!?" Hurota gasped.

Unstoppable Exodia

ATK: 0 - DEF: 0

"My Exodia's in Defense mode!? …Oh no… its effect does nothing for its defense points!" Hurota exclaimed.

"And that means my Jack Jaguar is free to pounce! Battle!" Flamberge said. "Sink your teeth into Exodia, JJ!"

"You surprised me with Block Attack, but since Exodia is in defense mode, I won't take any damage this-!" Hurota declared as suddenly, Jack Jaguar bit down, destroying Exodia, as a fiery energy fang bit Hurota's arm! "AGH! What the-!?"

Hurota LP: 7375 - 5575

"How did you-!?" Hurota exclaimed.

"Didn't read the fine print on my cards, didja?!" Flamberge smiled. "Jack Jaguar can deal out piercing Battle Damage!"

"Tch…" Hurota growled. "Unfortunately for you, it appears you have one measly card in your hand. Salamangreat Sanctuary, hm?" Hurota smiled deviously.

"Yeah, and I plan on using it! If I survive your next turn that is…" Flamberge admitted.

Turn 3: Hurota Kaiba

"You won't survive. Not if I draw the correct card to end you! I… DRAW!" Hurota roared.

(Cue: Millennium Battle - Yu-Gi-Oh OST)

Hurota's Draw: Berserker Soul

"...Just the card I need." Hurota declared. "I switch Millenniumoon Maiden to attack mode!"

Millenniumoon Maiden: 1500 ATK

"Now… Blue-Eyes! Obliterate her Jack Jaguar with Lightning of the Heart!" Hurota declared, as Blue-Eyes fired a white beam of pure destruction and heart!

Flamberge LP: 8000 - 6800

"Millenniumoon Maiden! Attack her Balelynx with Fate of the Moon Shot!" Hurota declared, as Maiden attacked Balelynx!

Flamberge: 6800 - 5800

"And now… GO! BERSERKER SOUL!" Hurota roared, playing her Quick-Play Spell. "You've shown me heart, no doubt about it. But it's time I showed you mine, you low-class duelist! Since I don't have any cards, I'm not required to discard any! Now, I'll start drawing cards from my deck one at a time. Each time I draw a monster, Maiden attacks you again!" Hurota declared.

"(Crap, i have 5800 life points left, which means if she draws 4 or more monsters, im finished!)"

"Here we go! Heart of the Cards! Lead me to victory!" Hurota yelled. "DRAW!"

The first card made her smile. "I've drawn this: Shield of the Millennium Dynasty!"

"Nuts…!" Flamberge winced, getting blasted again! "GAAAAH!"

Flamberge: 5800 - 4300

"DRAW!" Hurota yelled after discarding Millennium Shield's new iteration, smiling. "Lookie there. I drew Millennium Seeker!" She smiled, sending it to the Grave, as Maiden attacked Flamberge again!

Flamberge: 4300 2800

"2 more attacks left, and you're done for!" Hurota told Flamberge, as she drew again. "Heh… you're out of luck." She smirked, revealing Battle Fader.

"GAAAAAAH!" Flamberge yelled, falling on her back from the harsh blow!

Flamberge: 2800 - 1300

"One last card! This is it!" Hurota yelled, drawing her card….

The crowd was in silence, as was Flamberge…

When Hurota eyed it, her eyes widened. "What…!?"

Hurota Drew: Card of Sanctity

"YES!" Flamberge cheered.

"DAMMIT!" Hurota cursed.

"No way! That redhead got lucky and survived Hurota's Berserker Soul Combo!" a spectator called out.

"Hmph…. Seems like the Heart of your cards saw you through again." Hurota chuckled. "Fine. One more chance. I play Card of Sanctity! Now, we each draw until we have six cards in our hand!"

Hurota:

Monster Reborn

Call of the Haunted

Mystical Space Typhoon

Millennium Ankh

Honest

Saga of the Dragon Emperor

"(Perfect… I drew another Ankh, which means I can bring back Exodia. Not only that, I also have Honest and Saga of the Dragon Emperor, in case she foolishly tries to attack my Blue-Eyes.)" Hurota chuckled to herself.

"C'mon, be good to me…!" Flamberge said as she drew her 5 cards.

Flamberge:

Salamangreat Beat Bison

Salamangreat Gazelle

Salamangreat Foxer

Salamangreat Weasel

Salamangreat Fang

"I'll end my turn by playing Monster Reborn, bringing back Shield of the Millennium Dynasty to my field in Defense mode!" Hurota declared. "I'll also set this card face down!"

Hurota Set Saga of the Dragon Emperor

(Cue: The Finding of Your Flame - Mix made by batman arkham vengeance)

"Your move. Your pathetic cards have one moment to shine!" Hurota declared.

"In the depths of your soul, amidst the challenges and uncertainties, lies the true essence of undefeatable purpose

…"

Flamberge growled, looking at her hand. "(Great…I've only got 4 monsters, 2 spells, and no traps! What the heck am I supposed to do with this when I've got an army that includes Blue Eyes staring me down?!)" Flamberge thought.

"Where is your strategy? Where is the true appreciation for the archetype?" she remembered Shuffle saying to her.

"(Thats right! I almost forgot! Salamangreats have that ability…their effects, the reincarnation! I just need the right card on my next draw to pull off a big comeback!)" Flamberge thought. "(It all comes down to this…!)"

"Break through it all in the pursuit of your passions and the relentless search for a path of endless possibilities."

"...Here I go. It's my turn!" Flamberge exclaimed. "BURNING….. DRAAAAAW!"

"!?" Hurota's eyes widened as she watched Flamberge draw a card.

"And only therein, will you truly discover the finding of your flame."

Flamberge drew Salamangreat Claw

Now here we go, it's The End of the show…

Hear them, they're calling your name…

Cuz in the end… it's you and your friends…

You'll find your flame…

"-! This… this is it! The winning combo! " Flamberge exclaimed. "Alright… first! I'll use Salamangreat Foxer's ability in my hand! Since three or more Salamangreat monsters are in my Grave, I can use Foxer's effect to discard it, then by returning Balelynx in my graveyard to my Extra deck, I can target a card in your Spell & Trap Zone and destroy it! I'm going right for your newest Facedown!"

"No…!" Hurota gasped, as Saga of the Dragon Emperor exploded.

"Now, since it was in the Grave and destroyed a Spell or Trap, Foxer is Special Summoned to my field now!" Flamberge exclaimed.

Salamangreat Foxer

ATK: 1200

"And because I sent Foxer to the graveyard, I can also bring out Salamangreat Gazelle!" Flamberge exclaimed.

Salamangreat Gazelle

ATK: 1500

"I'll use it to send a Salamangreat monster from my deck to the grave! But it doesn't matter which one! Because I now use Salamangreat Weasel's effect to Special Summon it!"

Salamangreat Weasel

ATK: 700

"And last but not least, with 3 or more Salamangreat monsters in my grave, I can summon out….SALAMANGREAT BEAT BISON!"

Salamangreat Beat Bison

ATK: 2800

"Four monsters!? Just like that!?" Hurota exclaimed. "...Wait… that means you can…!"

"Link Summon?! You bet I can! But before I do that, I'm gonna show you something special my "pathetic" cards can do! And to do that, I'm activating the Field Spell Salamangreat Sanctuary!" Flamberge said.

"(That's the card her Baelynx let her search out on her last turn. What is she planning to do…!?)" Hurota gasped.

"Time to blaze my circuit again! This next Link Monster I'm bringing out needs 2 or more fire-attribute effect monsters! So I'm setting Foxer, Gazelle, and Weasel in the Link arrows!" Flamberge said as the 3 monsters set themselves in the Top, Bottom Left, and Bottom Right arrows. "I Link Summon! Rise and Roar! Link 3! Salamangreat Heatleo!"

The Lion-like FIRE monster appeared from the Link Circut and let out its bellowing roar.

Salamangreat Heatleo

Link 3

ATK: 2300

"That's all you got!?" Hurota scoffed.

"Not quite! Heatleo, send one of her Spells or Traps back into her deck!" Flamberge exclaimed as it targeted Krystal Avatar.

"Tch! No…!" Hurota gasped.

"But I'm not done yet! Remember that trick I told you about that Salamangreats can pull off?" Flamberge asked.

"What about it?" Hurota asked.

"It's simple. In certain conditions, Salamangreat monsters in my Extra Deck can be resummoned again, using themselves as the required material." Flamberge said.

"They do what?!" Hurota gawked.

"And thanks to Salamangreat Sanctuary, by using a Salmangreat Link monster as material, I can bring out another monster that has its name!" Flamberge said as Heatleo shot into the sky, into a different kind of Link Circut. "I could never pull this off if my deck was still stacked with monsters! I guess this is what it means… to have synergy with your cards! The true heart of the cards! HEATLEO! REINCARNATE!"

Heatleo: 2300 ATK

"When Heatleo reincarnates, I can pick one monster in one monster on your field, and one in my graveyard. And once I do that, the Attack Points of your monster become equal to the one sitting in my grave!" Flamberge said. "So I'm gonna weaken Milineummoon Maiden by making her ATK equal to… my Salamangreat Weasel!"

Millenniumoon Maiden ATK: 1500-700

"And don't forget Heatleo's other ability! Since he was summoned again, another one of your set cards goes back to your deck! So say goodbye to your Crush Card!" Flamberge said as Heatleo swept the face-down virus card, which was unfrozen after Flamberge's last turn, off the board and shuffled back into her deck.

"Damnit, no…!"

"Now! From my hand, I equip Heatleo with Salamangreat Fang and Claw!" Flamberge exclaimed.

"What do those do!?" Hurota gasped.

"Guess you don't pay attention much to cards wielded by those you think lower than you. Classic Kaiba arrogance." Flamberge said. "Let me explain it for you then. First, Salamangreat Fang boosts Heatleos attack points by 300, based on its Link Rating!"

Heatleo ATK: 2300 - 3100

"What…!?" Hurota gasped.

"And as for Claw, Heatleo can now attack up to an equal number of times equal to its Link Rating! Giving it 3 attacks!" Flamberge smiled. "Game, Set, and Match! And we're going for game! Beat Bison! Attack Millenniumoon Maiden!"

Bison charged, slamming into Maiden as she wasn't destroyed, as the whiplash of flames lashed Hurota.

Hurota LP: 5575 - 3475

"Nnngh!" Hurota groaned.

"Heatleo! Double Lash Fiend Reflection!" Flamberge ordered.

Hurota LP: 3475 - 75

"GAAAAAAAH!" Hurota exclaimed, landing hard as her Life Points closed in dangerously to 0.

"Is this mage gonna do it!?"

"This nobody's gonna snap Hurota's streak!"

"Is this really happening right now!?"

"(I cant believe I'm actually about to do this… I'm gonna beat a Kaiba!)" Flamberge thought in excitement. "(And what better way to clinch it… than to take out the family's most prized possession for the win… Blue-Eyes.) Heatleo! Finish this duel with an attack… on Blue Eyes!"

This made Hurota's eyes snap open, as she looked up, watching the massive flames approach her dragon, as she looked on, helpless, powerless to stop it… except… she wasn't. No. No, she wasn't powerless in this situation, she was a Kaiba! And Kaibas didn't just accept loss like that!

"...I've come too far… I've worked too hard… to let this duel slip away. To lose to a nobody like you before I ever come across him, the man I'm after. I will not allow this to happen! I… AM… HUROTA KAIBA!" Hurota boldly declared.

(Cue: Beyond All Hope - Infrasound Music)

"You will not best me! Not this easily! I REVEAL MY FINAL LINE OF DEFENSE! COUNTER GATE!" Hurota declared, as the trap card Kaiba used against Aigami was revealed face up.

"No way!"

"The final gambit!"

"She's gonna go for it!"

"Counter Gate stops your Heatleo's attack! In exchange, I draw one card from my Deck. And if it's a monster, I can Normal Summon it directly to my field. And since my field is full, it will need to be a monster I can Tribute Summon!" Hurota declared.

"Are you crazy!?" Flamberge gasped. "The odds of that, with the cards you've played, they're-!"

"Impossible? No, never impossible for a Kaiba! You may have heart, but I do as well! And I'm going to show you what a true Heart of the Cards is! Prepare, because this… THIS IS MY DESTINY!" Hurota yelled, as her deck sparked and shot out rainbow light, as she placed her hand upon her deck. "HRAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH! I DRAW!" Hurota yelled, as the card was encased in blue flames, as power emanated from the card like nothing else anyone had felt. "Now, I Tribute Blue-Eyes of the Heart, Shield of the Millennium Dynasty, and the Caveman that Awoke after a Millennium!" Hurota exclaimed as the three monsters were tributed.

"Three tributes?! But that can only mean…!" Flamberge realized.

"I summon to my field in Attack Position, OBELISK, THE TORMENTOR!" Hurota exclaimed, the mighty God Card, in its original blue print, was played, as it rose in the Shrine of Wedju, behind Hurota.

Obelisk the Tormentor

DIVINE Level 10 Divine-Beast

ATK: 4000

"I activate Obelisk's effect, right now!" Hurota exclaimed. "Obelisk requires two Tributes for this! But with Fiend Reflection and my Maiden to Offer, Obelisk destroys your entire field, and immediately afterward, attacks your Life Points directly!" Hurota declared.

"Well I'm screwed aren't I?" Flamberge asked as the reality of it all set in.

"I must applaud you, you pushed me to my limits for a low-class duelist. But you're still not going to snap my streak, nor be as good as I am! Obelisk! Go! SOUL CRUSHING FIST!" Hurota yelled, as Obelisk attacked, wiping Flamberge's field as it punched through her monsters effortlessly, the fist sailing for Flamberge, clocking her in the face!

Flamberge: 1300 - 0

WINNER: Hurota Kaiba

As the duel concluded and Hurota Kaiba folded her arms, the crowd cheered at the amazing duel that was just witnessed by all. So much happened in those four turns, it felt like a massive duel from start to finish, as Hurota retracted her duel disk with a smirk.

"Perhaps low-class duelist doesn't fit you anymore, though." Hurota hummed. "Because you truly have been the most challenging duelist I've ever faced. Tell me, did you ever give me your name?"

Flamberge groaned as she sat up from the punch given by Obelisk. Hurota was surprised at this, as no one could take a hit to the face from obelisk, and then get up like it's nothing.

"It's Flamberge. The Bringer of Flame." Flamberge said in confidence and happiness even though she lost.

"Flamberge. An intriguing name." Hurota hummed. While Lan was her top priority, by now he would have been long gone from the area. Still, Hurota couldn't help but take an interest in Flamberge. Only certain duelists had earned her interest, and for those that did…

"How about I enroll you into a special Private Duel Academy I'm teaching in one of my dad's owned towers?" Hurota would ask Flamberge out of the blue.

"Y-You're letting me attend a duel academy?!" Flamberge asked in shock.

"Yes. Don't mistake my last name for me having the same traits as my father. Where he may be more cruel and arrogant, I am far more merciful and willing to help duelists get to the best level they can be. And you just so happen to be one of those duelists that has caught my attention." Hurota smiled.

"Well, man… I'm a little busy right now but… sure, I'll attend! Can I bring anyone I want who's interested in going with me?" Flamberge asked.

"Of course." Hurota smiled with a nod. "The first semester of my Duel Academy begins in 4 months."

Flamberge smiled from ear to ear. "Thank you so much, you won't regret this! I gotta go, but I'll be sure to make it on time for my first day of class!" Flamberge said as she hurried off to the Unite Battle arena, Hurota smiling at Flamberge's boundless enthusiasm.

Flamberge Voice-Over: I may have lost two duels in one day before we moved on with our walkabout in the Multiversal Auction, but those losses were worth it. Thanks to Shuffle, I learned to appreciate everything that my deck had to offer, and after it was done, I was close to defeating the daughter of a legendary duelist! But I've got a huge opportunity now thanks to proving myself, and I'm not gonna let it go to waste. I'm gonna blaze a path to the peak and become the best duelist I can be! I'm fired up and so ready to Get My Game On!
