Walking through her uncle and aunt's house after working at the bookstore and being on her feet all day, Elena was just glad that she was able to kick her feet back and relax for the rest of the night. After dealing with Tyler, she and April had lunch. The bookstore got really busy with the afternoon rush. But luckily Elena and April were able to handle everything until it was closing time.

Elena has been running her own bookstore, Lockwoods Bookstore, for a while now. When she first told Tyler that she wanted to start her own bookstore and run her own business in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Tyler was initially against it because he felt that she didn't know anything about owning a business, let alone a bookstore. But after Elena was able to convince him that it was a good idea, Tyler finally gave in and let her open her bookstore with his company's money.

When Elena first met Tyler nine years ago, he was working for his father, a young vice president. Now, he's a CEO and owner of the family business, The Lockwoods Cooperation.

Being married to a guy like Tyler Lockwood was everything Elena had ever dreamed of at the time, and she honestly thought she was happy and everything in their marriage was going great. But ever since Tyler took over his family's company after his father Richard Lockwood passed away a few years ago, everything between her and Tyler changed. It seems like Tyler changed.

Tyler would come home from the office so late that Elena couldn't sleep because she would be up in the middle of the night waiting for him. Sometimes Tyler wouldn't come home until two or three in the morning. Every time Elena would ask him why he was coming home so late. His excuse was that he was working late. In reality, he was sleeping with his secretary Vicki Donavan behind Elena's back.

Elena actually met Vicki through her friend Matt Donavan. Vicki is Matt's older sister. Elena and Vicki never really liked each other. Elena always thought Vicki was a snob who thinks she is better than everyone else. And of course Vicki thought Elena wanted to sleep with Matt even though she was a married woman. Elena has known Matt for years and they never really dated or slept together. They tried to date a couple of times. But there was nothing there between them. No chemistry. So they decided to stay friends.

The last thing Elena ever expected was for Tyler to hire Vicki as his secretary. Walking through the kitchen, Elena noticed a note from Jenna letting her know that she and Alaric went out to dinner and they would be home later and not to wait up for them. Elena chuckled as she walked over to the cupboard and grabbed a wine glass and a bottle of wine from the refrigerator.

Setting down on the couch with her glass of wine in her hand, Elena started to browse through Max to find something to watch. Her cell phone started ringing, so she set her glass down on the coffee table and picked up her phone. She noticed that Caroline was calling.

"Hello there, Caroline." Elena said, as she took a sip of her wine.

"What are you doing right now?" Caroline asked, keeping her eyes on the road.

" Relaxing with my glass of wine and about to start watching some more episodes of The Big Bang Theory. Why?" Elena asked as she took another drink before setting her glass back down.

" Well I sorta heard what happened between you and Tyler last night. So I'm on my way, picking you up, and we're meeting Rebekah and Bonnie at Russaritos."

Elena sighs deeply as she had a feeling that Bonnie must have told Caroline. Bonnie was the first person Elena called and told her that she caught Tyler cheating on her. So of course Bonnie had to tell Caroline about it.

"I'm really not in the mood to go out tonight." Elena said honestly as she sat back against the couch.

"Elena Gilbert- Lockwood. There's no way I'm letting you stay home on a Friday night alone, so you can just sit there and watch your favorite show and be miserable. What kind of friend would I be? I'm on my way to pick you up, be ready in five minutes." Caroline said hanging up.

Elena snorted as she heard Caroline hang up on her before she had a chance to say something. Setting her phone down, Elena finished her wine before she got up from the couch and walked down the hallway towards the guest room she's staying in and got ready to go out.

Walking through Russaritos with Caroline, Elena could already tell how busy it was tonight. Following Caroline through the crowd, she noticed Bonnie and Rebekah were already sitting down at a table waiting for her and Caroline.

Both Bonnie and Rebekah were talking among themselves when Bonnie looked up and noticed Elena and Caroline walking towards their table. "Elena, you made it," Bonnie said with a smile as she got up for a moment and gave her best friend a hug.

" Yeah, well Caroline didn't really give me much of a choice in the matter." Elena said as she glared at Caroline for a moment before sitting down across from Bonnie and Rebekah.

Caroline sighs, rolling her eyes as she sat down. "I just thought maybe you would want to be around your friends tonight, considering what happened last night." She said as she shrugged her shoulders slightly, taking a drink of her ice water.

Elena sighs softly as she knows that Caroline was just trying to help and she means well. "Of course I want to be around you guys. But after catching my husband fucking his secretary in his office, I kinda wanted to be alone so I can think about what my next move is going to be."

" Good evening ladies. Can I get you all something to drink?" Cami asked as soon as she approached their table and handed them each a menu.

"Hey Cami, I will have a glass of white wine." Elena answered as she started to browse through the menu. The only thing she had was lunch, and she was hungry.

Once Cami wrote down everyone's drinks on her notepad and walked away from their table. Rebekah spoke up, "So what's your next move?" she asked curiously.

Closing the menu and setting it down, Elena exhaled deeply. "Divorce, that's my next move," she simply said as she took a drink of her ice water before looking through the menu again.

" Seriously?" Rebekah asked, as she wasn't really expecting that to be Elena's answer.

Elena nods her head as she was serious about it." Yeah, and as soon as I can. I'm gonna start looking for a new apartment." The sooner Elena gets away from Tyler the better. Plus she can't stay with her Aunt and Uncle forever.

Bonnie dug out a card from her purse and handed it over to Elena. "Here." She said as she waited for Elena to take the card from her hand.

" What's this?" Elena asked as she reluctantly took the card from Bonnie's hand and looked down at it. "Damon Salvatore, Divorce Lawyer." She read out loud as she raised her eyebrows for a moment while looking at Bonnie.

" Stefan's older brother." Bonnie answered as she shrugged her shoulders slightly.

"I kinda remember seeing him around at your house whenever Tyler and I would come over for a visit. I didn't realize that he was a lawyer." She said softly as she kept staring at the card as she started to think about calling him and setting up a meeting. She and Damon never really talked much since she hardly knew him. Still doesn't.

" Why did he give you his card?" Caroline asked in confusion, as she didn't understand why Bonnie would actually have it, let alone keep it in her purse.

Bonnie sighed, rolling her eyes. "He said if I was ever wanted to divorce Stefan, give him a call. He did it as a joke. Of course, Stefan didn't find it funny, though." Bonnie said with a small laugh as she shook her head.

" Thanks Bonnie, I will give him a call tomorrow." Elena said as she stood up and placed the card into her back pocket before she sat back down. Elena never really thought she would actually divorce Tyler and end their marriage. But she couldn't get over him cheating on her and she'll never forgive him either.

The next morning, Elena was awakened by the sound of her cell phone ringing. Elena let out a soft groan as she sat up and ran her hands down her face before she reached over and checked to see who was calling her at ten in the morning. She couldn't help but smile when she saw Matt's name across her screen.

"Hi Matt," Elena said with a small smile as soon as she answered his call.

"Hi Elena, I wanted to give you a call and check on you. I heard about what happened." He said as he took a drink of his coffee before sitting down on his couch.

" Let me guess Tyler told you?" Elena asked, as she had a feeling Tyler would tell him, seeing that they are best friends. That's how she and Tyler met, actually. Matt introduced them.

" Nope, Vicki told me actually." When Matt found out that her own sister had slept with Tyler behind Elena's back, Matt was furious with her and actually kicked her out of his house. He still hasn't talked to Tyler about it.

Elena scoffs, shaking her head. "I would have told you, Matt, but I needed time to myself and do some thinking." Elena wanted to tell Matt since they are friends. But since Vicki is his sister and he's Tyler's best friend, Elena didn't want to put Matt in an awkward position.

" Don't worry about it, I completely understand, Elena." He said with a friendly smile.

" Thanks Matt, I kinda figured that Rebekah would've said something seeing that she's your wife, after all. " Elena said with a chuckle. Rebekah tells Matt everything, so Elena was kinda surprised that she didn't tell Matt about what's been going on.

Matt chuckled in agreement. "True, but Rebekah wasn't home yesterday when Vicki came over." Matt then sighed as he got serious. "Hey, any time you need a friend to talk to, you know that I'm here for you, Lena."

"I know you are Matt. Thanks." She said softly before she hung up and ended their conversation. Getting up and out of bed, she walked across the room. Elena sat down at her desk as she pulled her desk drawer open and picked up Damon's business card.

After Elena spent five minutes staring at the card, she grabs her cell phone and calls his office to set up an appointment to meet with him, hopefully this afternoon. Elena just hopes that she's making the right decision.
