This is something new. Since nobody reads my story 'Butcher of Royal Woods' I'm just gonna focus on new material and leave that one a low priority. And if nobody reads this... Well, I don't know anymore. Anyhoozers, this is gonna be a Lincoln X Sam story, with the timescale when 'L is for Love' took place, in a "what if" scenario. ;)
Lincoln laid in his bed, shuttered by the recent events. "Ronnie Anne left for the big city. Christina hates me. And Paige doesn't even think I exist." I grumbled, laying back in my bed, scrunched up. I looked over the situation, where all of my sisters passed out love-letters, or so secret admirer letters, to their crushes. And as for me? No luck. Sure, nothing serious has happened yet, but a little bit of recognition would be quite nice.
The alarm rings for 6AM, although I'd slept horribly that night, unmotivated to even take care of myself. I didn't even bother limping over towards my dresser, because what's the point? I fell asleep in my daytime clothes, and I'm certainly not even gonna bother to change, let alone shower.
"Come on twerps! We're gonna be late!" Lori yelled aloud. I rolled my eyes, as I walked down the stairs. Just as I about made it down, Luna ran past me, her bookbag partially unzipped, and she bumped into me, nearly knocking us both off the stairs.
"Oh sh-" she gasped, as she staggered to not lose balance, and managed to catch herself, and then quickly proceeded towards the door, but not before an apologetic "sorry bro!"
As I noticed this, I realized she dropped one of her notes. "Oh shoot! She's gonna want this!" I told myself, as I tried to run out the door, only to realize Lori had already left. "Dang it."
I know Lori wasn't too worried about leaving me behind, considering the elementary school was a good 22 minute walk from the house, 16 if I run. It was that, the high school was in a completely opposite direction, and slightly further. It'd be well over 40 minutes before I made it to class.
Instinctively, I reached for my phone, only to remember I lent it to Lucy, as she accidentally dropped hers in a casket and had it buried alive, when she was giving a funeral prep.
Despite all of the negative situations, I was not called a good brother for nothing. As I'm making it towards the high school, I decide to read the paper, assuming it to be homework, only to find out it was nothing like it.
It was Luna's secret admirer note to Sam. Dang it! She hadn't already turned this into her?
As I read over it, I was brought to tears. "this is... It's so beautiful..." I said aloud. Luna really loves her childhood friend, she really knows so much about her... I have to make sure Sam gets this note, Luna deserves that much, even if I can't find someone, my sisters are more important."
As I accompanied myself with deep-thoughts, I soon made it to Royal Woods High, just as students were getting off the bus.
I might be able to catch Luna in the hallways, I entered the school, only to find the hallways mostly empty, with what little students I did see, none of who were Luna or Sam.
After all this time I've known Luna and Sam, I don't even know what classes they take, or their lockers.
I approached a male student, who looked to be a jock, by his locker. "E-excuse me, do you know Luna Loud, or Sam Sharp?" I asked, nervously.
The boy looked at me for a second, before replying "Sorry little buddy, but I can't say I do. Do you know what grade they're in?" He asked, towering over me.
"I believe they're Sophomores." I told him, and he shook his head. "Sorry, I'm a junior. But good luck with your search though." He nodded, as he walked off.
Shoot, shoot, shoot. I'm running out of time, I'm running out of time... I thought to myself, frantically searching the halls. It wasn't until I felt a tap on my shoulder, that I nearly jumped.
I turned to face Mazzy, the quiet, short but mischievous drummer for the Moon Goats band, her, Luna, Sam and this other guy, who I can't quite remember.
"Link, dude. You should be careful here, don't want you to get in trouble, broski." She pointed out, concerned for me getting in trouble for trespassing.
"Yeah, yeah I know. Let's cut to the chase, do you know where Sam's locker is? I had something important, for her." I explained, out of breath and not thinking completely straight, with the anxiety flaring up.
Mazzy, who appeared to be chewing gum, nodded her head. "Yes sirrr. Come with me, I got you loud and proud." She smiled halfways, as I followed her.
"Thanks again for the help, uhmm... Mazzy, it's pretty important for Luna if Sam gets this special gift from me." I explained, with a poor choice of words that I hadn't picked up on quite yet.
She nodded, and soon, she stopped infront of a locker with the words "rock on" written in marker on it. She gently slapped the locker, before cheering out "we have arrived!"
I smiled, and slid the note under the locker. "Thanks so much, if you ever need anything, just let Luna know. I really owe you for this." I thanked her.
With a nod, she gestered her fist out to bump mine. "Wasn't a problem at all! You should probably clear out of here though, don't want the hall-monitors to bust ya." She informed me, and I set off to the elementary school.
You did a good deed, Lincoln. Luna will be so proud of me when I tell her later, that I brought in her love note for Sam.
I smiled, as I made my way towards the elementary school.
Thanks for reading part-one! This story was inspired, and shows some similarities of another FanFic I've read in the past, though not at all stolen. Many differences, plus I'm taking a different turn with it than that story in particular, so stay tuned for the next part, as this story should be maybe 10 chapters at the least, before it's concluded. As always, leave a follow and review and I'll be at it again! :)
