I don't own Harry Potter, Avengers, or Charmed!
AN: Non-graphic talk of sexual assault, just wanted to warn everyone.
If you asked anyone when Harry Potters life had started to crumble, they would have said it was when he was sixteen and got himself knocked up. However, if you asked Harry himself, he would have said that it had all started the Halloween after his first birthday. You see, that was the night his twin brother became The Boy Who Lived, something akin to a god in the eyes of the Wizarding World. For that was the night the dark wizard Lord Voldemort attacked his family and was defeated by his twin.
He had been downstairs with his parents, refusing to fall asleep, when the dark wizard had burst through the front door, stunning both parents instantly. He then walked past the measly bearer child, believing no bearer could defeat him, and up to the nursery where the other twin was crying, having been woken by all the noise. No one knows how it happened, but somehow Evan managed to deflect the Dark Lord's killing curse back on him, but the magical backlash caused the house to crumble on it's foundation. Fortunately, none of the family were harmed, though everything about their lives was changed.
Evan became an instant celebrity, and anyone with an ounce of authority started advising the parents to send the bearer away. See, bearers were very much looked down on in the Wizarding World, not seen as men or as women. To make matters worse for them, most had very little magic, as their cores were designed to support a pregnancy, and their magic funneled into that purpose, leaving little extra to do actual magic.
Harry parents refused to send him away in the beginning, but when Dumbledore expressed how it would be better for both boys, they caved. They thought he would be sending Harry someplace safe so they could focus on training Evan, and that they would get Harry back when he started Hogwarts.
The plan would have worked well, had Dumbledore kept his side of the bargain. Sadly, he sent Harry to Lily's magic hating sister, where he spent the next ten years being abused. More than once his relatives came within inches of killing him, and because his magic was forced to keep him alive, his core slowly grew larger and stronger, almost like a muscle when being worked out.
You can imagine young Harry's surprise when his parents showed up to take him home the morning of his eleventh birthday. He was sure the yelling could be heard three blocks over when his parents noticed the "care" he had received. Both had apologized, and explained their reasoning behind letting him go, to protect him, while training his brother. However, it all fell flat when he met the two younger brothers they hadn't given up.
In the beginning his parents at least tried to make him feel like family. They dawned over him, telling him how wonderful it was to finally have him back, and he was sure they truly felt that way. However, he found it almost impossible to connect to them on any level. To him they just felt like a nice couple who took him in and gave him a safe place to live, and while he appreciated it, he never felt like he actually belonged there, that he was a part of their family.
He got the impression he wasn't the only one feeling this way and had even overheard a conversation where the participants stated as much. He had heard the disappointment in his mother's voice as she questioned what was wrong with her, that she couldn't connect with her child, his father voicing his agreement. Harry wouldn't find out till years later, while in therapy, that it was actually the abuse he suffered that was most likely behind his struggles connecting with people, especially adults.
Hogwarts was the only bright spot, as he for the first time in his life had a friend. Said friend came in the form of another neglected child, one Ron Weasley. Ron's parents hadn't intentionally neglected him, it was just that they had seven children, and Ron seemed to be easily overlooked. It was one of the reasons the two were so close, both were the first people to really see the other one.
The two became major parts of each other's support system, each encouraging the other to do better, so they could have the lives they always wanted. They were helped in this by their third friend Hermione Granger, another outcast and kindred spirit. She was able to help them with their studies, and they helped her relax and have fun doing things other than studying.
Life wasn't perfect, but then, it never truly ever was. It was happy for the most part, and he found he could be content with that. Sure he dealt with bullies who found that they could get away with hurting him, while would be severely punished if they targeted his brothers. However, he could handle pain, so was willing to put up with it to be able to stay in school with Ron and Hermione. Besides, it wasn't like adults were ever willing to protect him.
Then, when he was fifteen it all fell apart. The Daily Prophet had started spreading vicious lies about his brother and Dumbledore, trying to discredit them, all because they had started saying Voldemort was back. Sadly, by May it seemed many of the students had all they could tolerate of his brother's trying to proclaim that they were all telling the truth. As a result, six boys from all different houses jumped him one night and forced him into the prefect's bathroom, where they took turns assaulting him.
The boys had threatened to do the same to the rest of his siblings if he told anyone what they had done to him. It didn't matter, as he had no plans of telling anyone anyways, partly out of shame, and partly because he truly thought no one would do anything about it.
However, it did not stay secret, as right before he went home for the summer he found out he was pregnant. Because he was underage, his parents were told, and the disappointment in their eyes when they looked at him only magnified the shame he felt in himself. He couldn't imagine how much more ashamed of him they would be if they knew how the baby came to be.
Instead he sat stubbornly quiet as they grilled him on who the father was. He had been horrified to find out that there was a spell that could be performed when the pregnancy was in its fifth month, and that the adults in his life planned on doing it and forcing the father to marry him. They thought this would be better as having a child out of wedlock was extremely shameful in their world, and didn't want to even think about the negative impact it would have on his siblings.
It wouldn't be till many years later that he would question how his parents would have reacted had he told them about the assault. Would they have done everything in their power to see the perpetrators brought to justice? Would they have forced him to marry someone else? Would they have allowed him to have an abortion if he had wanted one? The questions would plague him for many years to come.
Instead of finding out, he had asked his parents if he could stay a few nights at Hermione's, and they had agreed. His father had apparated him to what he told him was Hermione's home. While he made small talk with the home's owner, his father left. Once he was sure the man was gone, he thanked the woman for her time, and took to the streets.
After a trip to Diagon Alley, where he cleaned out the trust account his parents had set up for him, he paid the goblins a little extra to get him the paperwork to go to the US where children outside of wedlock were not looked down on as much. He was then off to the airport, hopping a plane to New York, hoping to get lost in the masses there.
"I'm so sorry Mr Potter, I swear I only looked away for a second." His son's daycare teacher spoke as she wrung her hands together. He had been surprised to see the woman in the mailroom at Stark Tower where he worked, and had instantly felt a rock settle in the pit of his stomach. Were it not for the fact that the watch on his wrist was surprisingly cool, he would have been out of his mind with panic. Said watch had been a gift from Ron on his last visit, and would get warm if his son was ever in danger.
"Come on, we'll look for him, he can't have gotten far." One of the other mailroom attendants took over his cart for him, offering to go around and deliver it for him.
It had been a stroke of pure luck finding this job, as he had found that many people would refuse to hire someone without a high school education. Fortunately for him though, someone seemed to take pity on him, and gave him a chance working in the mail room, on the condition he got his GED. It had taken him two years of on line learning, but he had managed it, and was now working toward getting his college degree on line.
He was just fortunate the pay was decent enough to pay for his tiny one bedroom apartment, in a decent area of town. The benefits were what made the job ideal for him. The company had a daycare center in the building that was free for staff. The health insurance was also amazing, and what's better, fully covered mental health care. Mr Stark thought it important his employees had access to it after his own experiences with PTSD from when he was taken prisoner in Afghanistan.
Harry and the teacher split up to cover more ground, the teacher having already informed security of the missing child. "Daddy studies a lot, he doesn't have time to play as much as I want him to." Harry recognized that voice instantly.
"What about your mommy?" Another voice answered, and Harry increased his pace to get to his son who was currently with an unknown male.
"No mommy, it is just daddy and I." Harry turned the corner, his eyes focusing on his four year old son.
"Elliot Ronald Potter, you know better than to leave your daycare room without a teacher." He tried to speak sternly, but the relief he felt at finding his son lessened the effect.
"But Daddy, I saw Ironman walking by, and you said if I ever saw him I should thank him for everything he does to keep us safe." Elliot said as Harry scooped him up and put him on his hip.
"And did you thank him?" He asked his son.
"He gave me a very nice thank you, and even got me out of a boring meeting." The man grinned, answering before his son had a chance to.
"Thank you for finding him Mr Stark, I don't know what I would have done if I had lost him." Harry spoke, relief plain in his voice.
"Not at all, you have a very charming young man there. I was happy to get to spend a little time with him." The man said with a grin before saying goodbye to Elliot and heading on his way.
AN: This will be a Wyatt/Harry pairing. Harry is only 20/21ish right now, so will likely be treated more like a younger brother, especially by Tony. However, I am, as always, open to suggestions.
