Here's a sequel story to The Winter Dance! I don't know how long it's going to be, but it might not be a short story. This is going to be more about Kirishima, but with other classmates here and there. I highly recommend reading The Winter Dance, Class 1-A's Sleepover and A Beautiful View to understand what's going on fully. Other than that, Enjoy!
To Eijiro Kirishima, it felt like it's been way too long since the Winter Dance. Once class had ended, he walked over to his locker to grab his things along with his friends and classmates.
He looked over at Mina Ashido who was talking to Momo Yaoyorozu. She looked like she couldn't wait to get back to the dormitory. He couldn't blame her since classes went a bit longer than usual. Kirishima could tell that Mr. Aizawa was still a little upset about that sleepover that Ashido planned out the other day. He was just glad that Mineta's pictures didn't get out there with everyone to see.
Not only that, but he was pretty annoyed with Uraraka and Bakugo after happened between them and Mei Kitsune. The whole body switching thing was kind of under wraps and only Class 1-A knew about it. He couldn't blame Mr. Aizawa for wanting to keep this a secret. He let out a sigh, feeling like he couldn't relax quite yet.
He couldn't stop looking at Ashido all day today, especially during hero training. He was so out of focus ever since the sleepover, and the way she glowed and smiled wasn't helping things either. He noticed that things have felt a bit weird the moment he kissed her on the cheek while playing Spin the Bottle. Even during The Winter Dance, he thought she felt something for him.
But she never asked him out afterwards. He was never good at this sort of thing.
"I'll see you back at the dorm, Kirishima!" Kaminari said as he walked by him.
"Oh, yeah. See ya, man," Kirishima said back.
Kaminari and Jirou walked out of the school with their hands intertwined with one another. He looked at them, wondering what that must feel like. Jirou smiled at him like all she wanted was to laugh at his jokes. Even Kaminari looked so happy to have her by his side as they headed back to the dormitory.
Kirishima started to feel something that he didn't want to admit. He was jealous of his friend.
He let out a long sigh and opened his locker. The moment he opened it, he spotted a letter of some sort on top of his shoes. Kirishima looked at it with so much curiosity since it wasn't there before hand. He looked around the locker room and didn't spot anyone. He didn't even notice Ashido leave with Yaoyorozu. Kirishima looked back at the letter and pulled it out.
The moment he pulled it out, he could spot his name, Eijiro written on the front of the envelope. It was written all fancy like, which made him even more confused. Kirishima opened it, feeling a little nervous for some reason. He took the letter out and opened it up to read it.
To Eijiro,
Ever since the Winter Dance, I can't stop thinking about you. We had such a great time at the dance that I just wished it could've lasted forever. You were so handsome dancing in that tux, watching you dance really made my night special. I really wanted you to know how special you are to me. I'm hoping that you feel the same way, even if you don't know who wrote you this letter.
I just hope that the day will come soon when I can finally let you know that I like you as more than a friend.
Kirishima's heart felt like it skipped a beat once he finished reading it. His face turned bright red from how romantic and beautiful it was written. His mind instantly started trying to figure out who could've written him this letter. Then he realized this wasn't just any letter.
"Someone wrote me a love letter?!" Kirishima thought out loud.
"Hey Kirishima!" Uraraka cried out without meaning to.
He was so caught off guard and instinctively hid the love letter behind his back. His face was so red that it matched his hair color as Midoriya and Uraraka walked up to him. They both looked at him with confused looks, and Midoriya noticed how nervous he was.
"Whatcha got there?" Midoriya asked him out of curiosity.
"I-It's nothing! I-I just..." Kirishima said back, but didn't know what to say, "I just got a lame prank letter from Kaminari. You all know how he is! I-It's nothing! I should get going! Mr. Aizawa isn't going to want us running late."
Kirishima tried to get out of the locker room, but Midoriya grabbed his arm very gently. Kirishima could tell that they weren't buying it, especially Midoriya.
"Kirishima, hold on," Midoriya said back, "We promise we won't say anything."
Kirishima still felt a little embarrassed for even yelling it out loud. Then he looked back and realized that it was just Midoriya and Uraraka. They were probably the best classmates to talk about this sort of thing. They weren't ones to go talking about this to everyone in the school. He was just glad that it wasn't someone like Mineta or Kaminari. After what they've pulled lately, he's glad that it wasn't them.
Then he realized that this could all just be a prank like he used as an excuse. Kaminari could've placed this into his locker when he wasn't looking. All he could think about was the prank Kaminari pulled during the sleepover and drew on Bakugo's face. This could've easily been that kind of prank. Mineta even tried to steal Bakugo's clothes when him and Uraraka switched bodies not that long ago. One of them could've easily done this.
Kirishima turned around to talk to Midoriya and Uraraka, but he still felt a little flustered. He looked down at his pocket and pulled out the letter.
"Just so you know, this could easily be a prank," Kirishima said to them, "But I found this in my locker just now."
Kirishima gave the letter to both Midoriya and Uraraka, and they took it. Kirishima watched them read it and noticed Midoriya and Uraraka's faces start to grow shocked to see someone write this to Kirishima. Midoriya even looked a little flustered for him, and Uraraka was so happy to see something like this.
"Oh my gosh, Kirishima!" Uraraka said to him, "Someone wrote you a love letter? This is so sweet!"
"Shh! I don't want anyone knowing about this," Kirishima said back a little quieter, "Besides, this could be a prank. Kaminari does stuff like this all the time."
"Yeah, but not a fake love letter," Midoriya said back, "I don't think he could come up with something like this all by himself."
Kirishima then realized that Midoriya was right. Kaminari would have someone helping him with this sort of thing. Then he started to wonder what else it could've meant then if it weren't a prank.
"Kirishima, this means that someone actually wrote you a love letter," Uraraka said to him with a big smile.
Kirishima felt his face heat up from the thought of someone doing that and put it in his locker. All he could think about was Ashido in that moment and wondered if she maybe it was her. She was his date to The Winter Dance, but he didn't understand why she wouldn't just say something instead of just telling him. They did go out together already, so he couldn't see why they couldn't do it again.
"Who do you think sent it to you?" Midoriya asked him.
"You know, it could be Ashido," Uraraka said to them, "She's been pretty close with you for a while now."
Kirishima didn't know what to do after hearing that from Uraraka. She was one of Ashido's best friends, and she knew her pretty well when it came to girl stuff and gossip. Ashido was all about the gossip, so that had to mean something. He felt a little warm around his face, even if it was still cold from the outdoors.
"Y-You really think it could be her?" Kirishima asked her, "Has she said anything to you recently? Y-You know... about me?"
Midoriya and Uraraka shared a look, and they both had a feeling that he already liked her. They knew that they've known each other ever since middle school, so they weren't surprised if that were the case.
"It's definitely possible. Come on, maybe we should head back to the dormitory," Uraraka said to him, "We can figure it out there."
"Wa-Wait! I don't want everyone to know about this," Kirishima said back as he rubbed the back of his head, "I-I just... I've never had someone send me a love letter before. I just don't want it getting out. We all know that Mineta and Kaminari would be telling everyone in school. Please?"
With Midoriya and Uraraka around, there was no hesitation whatsoever.
"Of course, Kirishima," Midoriya said to him.
"I promise to keep this a secret. We would never want you to do anything like this by yourself," Uraraka said with a smile.
Kirishima was so grateful to have friends like them, especially since no one else was around to find out about the love letter. He felt like he could finally relax as he put on his shoes from his locker. After putting his school bag on, they all headed out of the school. Kirishima tucked the love letter in his pocket, making sure no one could see it.
"So, what do we do now?" Midoriya asked him.
"What do you mean?" Kirishima asked back a little confused.
"Well, we can help you figure out who sent you the love letter," Uraraka said back, "It's only a matter of time before we can find this person."
Kirishima felt his icy breath escape from his mouth when she said that. He really didn't think they'd actually help him, let alone keep his secret. He just didn't want to draw any attention to the love letter is all.
"Are you sure? I mean, I just don't want anyone seeing the letter and gossiping things about it," Kirishima said to them, "Maybe I should go about this by myself."
"Kirishima. We're your friends, and we can't just leave you alone with this sort of thing," Midoriya said to him.
"Yeah. We just want to help you out," Uraraka said with a smile, "Don't you want to find out who gave you this love letter?"
"N-No. I mean, yeah. I do, but I just... don't know if it's the same person that I'm thinking of," Kirishima tried to explain, "What if it's not Ashido? It could definitely be anyone else."
Uraraka and Midoriya shared a look and wondered if he could be right about that. They couldn't think of anyone that would possibly have a crush on him. Maybe someone from Class 1-B, but no one they could think of from their class. At least, no one that seemed obvious.
"Well, whoever it is, we still wanna help you out," Midoriya said to him with a smile.
Uraraka nodded with so much confidence that Kirishima already felt so much better. Even with it being so cold outside, he felt so much warmth coming from them. He felt so lucky right now to have such amazing friends that wanted to help out with something as silly as a love letter.
"Thanks, guys," Kirishima said to them with a smile back.
They walked back to the dormitory, noticing that everyone was already inside getting warm from the cold. Kirishima was a little nervous entering the dormitory with the love letter shoved into his pocket. He didn't want anyone to see it, especially Mineta and Kaminari. Once they saw this thing, they'd be all over him for the rest of the year. He couldn't let anyone see it unless they found someone that might've sent it to him.
As they got closer to the dormitory, Kirishima noticed Ashido entering along with Yaoyorozu. For a moment, he thought that she locked eyes with him. He tried to avoid eye contact with her as she headed inside. Something about the way she looked at him seemed a little strange. It was as if she was avoiding him for some reason.
Midoriya and Uraraka noticed her looking at Kirishima, and they wondered what that might've meant. They could tell that Kirishima noticed and stopped in his tracks for a brief moment.
They headed inside right after Ashido, and Kirishima felt a little nervous again. He felt himself pull back a bit, but made himself step inside. The warmth coming from the inside of the dormitory circled around him as they stepped into the common room. Once they entered, they instantly heard yelling coming from Bakugo.
He was running after Kaminari and Mineta who had pranked him once again. They couldn't tell what it was that he did. Whatever it was, they could tell that he was pissed off about it. He kept running back and forth, trying to grab them by using his explosive quirk. Iida ended up jumping in, trying to stop the fighting. Iida just seemed to make it escalate the situation even more.
Kirishima was confused as to why he was so angry, but then noticed Uraraka walking up to intervene. Kirishima was about to stop her, but then she quickly grabbed Bakugo once he almost got past her. He ended up flipping across the room because of her zero gravity quirk and his explosion quirk at the same time. Class 1-A all watched him fly across the room as Uraraka quickly deactivated her quirk. He landed on the floor pretty hard, but he ended up getting up pretty easily. Bakugo looked up at Uraraka and growled as he stomped over to her. Midoriya ended up in between them, but Bakugo still tried to get through to her.
"Uraraka, what the hell was that all about?" Bakugo growled out, trying not to yell at her.
"You were being ridiculous as usual. I thought I might as well step in to stop you from damaging the dormitory, again," Uraraka said back.
Kirishima could tell that things had changed between them ever since the body switching situation. He was a little more understanding with Uraraka around and whenever she got involved, he pulled back and listened to her. Kirishima definitely noticed that she was way more confident and upfront towards Bakugo lately. Something about dating Midoriya really seemed to give her a lot of confidence. He was surprised to see them getting along so well, but he was glad that he had another friend to help out with him sometimes.
Bakugo gave her a piercing glare, but then Midoriya tried to intervene.
"Kacchan, you really shouldn't be using your quirk in here anyway," Midoriya said to him, "You don't want to get in trouble with Mr. Aizawa again, do you?"
Bakugo pulled back a bit, but then spotted Kirishima standing there with them. Kirishima didn't expect him to stop arguing with them so easily, but once he saw him, he seemed to relax a little. Something about that glance felt different, but before Kirishima could notice anything of it, Bakugo walked away with his hands in his pockets.
Kirishima quietly and inconspicuously tucked the love letter in a little more, making sure no one noticed it.
"Well, that was weird," Uraraka said to them, "I wonder what Kaminari and Mineta did this time to Bakugo."
"Oh, they just put smelly socks and god knows what else inside of his school bag," Sero explained to them, "I don't blame him. That's pretty disgusting. Apparently Mineta wanted to get back at him for the whole breaking his phone thing during the body swap incident."
Uraraka felt her cheeks warm up from Sero even mentioning it. Something about it made Kirishima felt a little bad for her and Bakugo. Kirishima even noticed that he did seem to be acting a little differently since then. He shook it off for now, knowing full well that Bakugo did this here and there.
Kaminari and Mineta were finally looking more relaxed, but Iida walked over to them with a determined look on his face. They both looked about ready to bolt out of there, but Iida quickly grabbed them by the collars.
"Don't think that you can get away with this so easily you two," Iida said to them, "You're going to have to apologize to Bakugo and replace that school bag for him. It reeks of fish and rotten eggs."
"What?! B-But Iida! He always mad and yelling at us!" Kaminari cried out.
"Let us at least get away with this one!" Mineta cried out, "I had to get a new phone because of him!"
"Oh, no way! You two better come with me," Iida said back as he dragged them both towards Bakugo's dorm room.
Kirishima, Midoriya and Uraraka all watched Iida dragging their classmates out of the common room by the collars. Uraraka couldn't help but laugh at how funny it looked with Kaminari and Mineta looking so dumbfounded that he was actually dragging them out of there. Kirishima could tell that she kind of enjoyed this.
Kirishima looked around the common room, but then noticed that Ashido wasn't anywhere to be seen. He was a little disappointed, but also glad to not have to ask about the letter with everyone around.
"Didn't Ashido just come inside?" Kirishima asked them, "I saw her enter the dormitory right before us."
"Ashido?" Jirou said, hearing him ask the others, "Yeah, she went to take a shower. She said she'll be back down afterwards for dinner."
"Oh... Okay..." Kirishima mumbled.
Midoriya and Uraraka noticed that he looked disappointed. They really wanted to help him, but now was the time to get ready for dinner and wait for her.
"Maybe we should wait for her by helping with dinner," Uraraka said to him, "I'm sure she'd like that."
Kirishima actually didn't mind the thought of that. Making something for her sounded nice. She deserved it for preparing that amazing sleepover and just being a really good friend to him and the others. Kirishima put down his school bag and joined Sato and Yaoyorozu in making some curry for dinner. Kirishima ended up helping with chopping up some vegetables. He ended up cutting up all of it pretty quickly, so he helped with mixing the curry afterwards.
Once Sato and Yaoyorozu handled the rest of dinner, he helped Midoriya set the tables. Uraraka grabbed the drinks and any glasses they had that were clean.
Once Kirishima was done setting up, all he could do was wait for Ashido to come downstairs. He started thinking about Ashido in the shower without meaning to and felt himself turning a little red. He tried to shake it off, but Midoriya and Uraraka were right there watching him freak out. Uraraka smiled and knew what he was going through at the moment.
"I'm sure everything will be okay, Kirishima," Uraraka said as she placed her hand on his arm, "We'll figure this out together."
Kirishima felt like she really wanted to help him, even Midoriya who looked just as confident as her. He felt himself smiling at both of his friends and felt a lot better. Then the elevator opened to reveal Ashido. She was wearing her pajamas; a loose yellow shirt, grey sweatpants and slippers. She was still slightly wet from the shower, causing Kirishima to sweat a little.
He stretched out his collar as if it was getting hot in the common room. Even though freezing outside, he felt like he needed to run outside just to cool down.
This was going to be an interesting night.
