Here's the next chapter! This is a sequel to The Winter Dance! I don't know how long it's going to be, but it might not be a short story. This is going to be more about Kirishima, but with other classmates here and there. I highly recommend reading The Winter Dance, Class 1-A's Sleepover and A Beautiful View to understand what's going on fully. Other than that, Enjoy!
Kirishima and Ashido headed down to the common room, ready to figure out who is the one that sent the love letter. Ashido was bouncing up and down in the elevator, ready to find this person. Kirishima loved watching her getting excited about something like this. He just hoped that she wouldn't go asking everyone that she comes across. He really didn't want to start spreading rumors or being the center of attention.
"Ashido. I hope you understand that I don't want anyone else to know," Kirishima said to her, "I just don't want everyone knowing about this, especially Mineta and Kaminari. They'd be all over this."
"I get it, Kirishima," Ashido said back, "Don't worry about a thing. We'll be stealthy about this then."
Kirishima smiled, happy to have her joining him, Uraraka and Midoriya in this weird mission. Since it wasn't a school day, they didn't have to wear their school uniforms. They were wearing their casual clothes today, hopefully not standing out too much. Once they exited the elevator, Kirishima spotted Midoriya and Uraraka eating some cereal and orange juice.
"Hey Kirishima, Ashido!" Uraraka cried out, "Come here, we've got extra cereal for you guys!"
Kirishima was excited to join them, but Ashido was a little confused. She joined them, but made sure not to say anything to them about the love letter. Kirishima poured himself some cereal and got a cup of orange juice. Ashido did the same, but stayed quiet as she did it. She settled down at the table, realizing that there was barely anyone around. Then she realized that it was still pretty early for a Sunday morning.
"So, did you tell her?" Uraraka whispered to Kirishima.
"Yeah. I did," Kirishima said to them.
"What are you two whispering about?" Ashido asked them in a hushed tone.
"Oh, sorry. They know about the letter," Kirishima said to her.
"Wait. You told them first?" Ashido asked in a teasing manner, "But I thought we were horn buddies."
Midoriya and Uraraka gave them both a confused look. Uraraka couldn't help but laugh at the team name.
"Horn buddies?" Midoriya pointed out, "What's that?"
Kirishima looked back at Ashido, and she inconspicuously put her finger to her lips. She even looked at his red hair, which made him blush a little.
"I-It's no-nothing. Did you notice anything weird this morning?" Kirishima asked them, moving on from the subject.
"Not really. It's Sunday so some of our friends are sleeping in," Midoriya said to him, "But Kaminari did show up to get some breakfast. I asked him about recent pranks. All he could talk about was Kacchan's school bag, so I don't think he's the one that put it in your locker. That means this is definitely not a prank."
Kirishima couldn't believe this. Someone actually gave him a love letter, saying that they liked him as more than a friend.
"Aww... That is so cute!" Ashido commented, trying not to be too loud, "Someone actually finds you a gentleman."
Kirishima felt himself blushing from embarrassment, but really now was curious as to who it could possibly be. If it were any of the girls in their class, then Jirou's off the list since she's going out with Kaminari. There weren't even that many girls in there class to begin with.
"Do you really think it's someone from our class? Like, Yaoyorozu or Hagakure?" Ashido asked back.
"Well, it could be someone outside of our class. Like Class 1-B possibly," Uraraka tried to explain, "I just don't recognize the handwriting. Can I see the love letter, Kirishima?"
Kirishima looked around the kitchen and dining room to see if anyone was around. There were a couple of their classmates in the common room watching TV, but that was about it. He quietly pulled it out and gave it to Uraraka. She looked at it closely and didn't say anything about it being scrunched up quite a bit.
"Yeah. I don't recognize this," Uraraka said back, "This could easily be someone from maybe Class 1-B."
"Yeah, but that kind of handwriting is pretty fancy. I was talking about this with Kirishima just now. Someone could've just taken their time so it doesn't look like their handwriting. I mean, they didn't even write down their name," Ashido pointed out.
"You're right about that," Midoriya said to her, "It looks like calligraphy. That kind of thing is hard to do without taking your time on it. I think they did this on purpose."
Kirishima was really curious now as to who this was. This was someone that took their time making this love letter, but didn't want to reveal who they were. Whoever it was, they really wanted to stay a secret but just had to get it off of their chest.
"This is crazy!" Ashido commented, "I've never seen a love letter like this before. It's like something out of a fairy tale. Now I really want to know who this is."
"Okay, so where do we start?" Kirishima asked them, ready to start looking.
"Well, I really think we should just start with Class 1-B. Since it's Sunday, it's the best time to check in on them without it seeming out of place," Midoriya said to them.
"That makes sense. I agree with Izuku," Uraraka said to Kirishima, "But it's up to you."
"No, I definitely agree. Class 1-B seems like the best place to start," Kirishima said to them with a smile, "Besides, it'd be nice to see TetsuTetsu. I haven't seen him since The Winter Dance."
"Then it's settled then. We're going to Class 1-B's dormitory," Ashido said as she finished her cereal and orange juice.
Kirishima went back to his cereal and finished it just in time for his classmates to start coming in. Then he spotted Uraraka still holding the letter. He reached out for it and tucked it into his school bag. No one noticed as a few others came over to grab some breakfast. Kirishima, Ashido, Uraraka and Midoriya all got up and cleared the table. Once they were ready, they were about to head out when Iida stopped them in their tracks.
"And where do you think all of you are going?" Iida asked them with his arms crossed.
"We-Well, we were just heading over to Class 1-B's dormitory," Uraraka tried to explain.
"Why are you all going to Class 1-B's dormitory exactly?" Iida asked back as he adjusted his glasses.
Kirishima noticed that it definitely looked a little strange for all of them to be heading out together. He really thought they could head out without being spotted or caught by Iida. He noticed Uraraka and even Midoriya trying to find a reason as to why there were all going. Then he looked at Ashido and something just came up.
"A-Ashido is actually helping someone from Class 1-B with some dance lessons. They saw our dance from The Winter Dance and really wanted to learn from the dance teacher. We heard the news and thought that we should come help her out," Kirishima tried to explain.
Iida stared at him with a pretty serious look on his face. Kirishima didn't move as he waited for him to respond. All he could do was stare back at him.
"Well, if that's all then you're free to go," Iida said to them, "But at the latest, be back by five PM for dinner."
"Of course, Iida," Midoriya said back, "We'll be back."
They all headed out and felt that freezing cold air from the outdoors hit them in the face. Luckily, they got all bundled up for the weather. They felt they could relax without Iida around to lecture them.
"That was a close one," Uraraka said to them as an icy breath escaped from her mouth.
"Wow, Kirishima. You just lied to our Class Rep. I'm impressed," Ashido said to him with a smile.
"Yeah, well. I'm starting to think that this love letter might actually be for real," Kirishima said to her, making him blush a little, "Whoever wrote this, I've gotta find out who."
They all made it through the thin pile of snow and walked over to Class 1-B's dormitory. The weather wasn't that bad even if it was a little cold. Kirishima held his school bag close just to make sure no one will take it when they go to the dormitory. Class 1-B can be a little competitive with Class 1-A. Though lately, they've been pretty good friends with them, especially after The Winter Dance. He was kind of excited to at least say hi to TetsuTetsu.
"Man, it's so cold outside," Ashido said to Kirishima.
"Yeah. We're almost there," Kirishima said to her.
Ashido kept rubbing her arms just to try to get some more warmth going through her jacket. Kirishima noticed right away and took off his jacket and put it around her shoulders.
"What're you doing?! It's freezing out here!" Ashido cried out.
"Don't worry about it. We're almost there," Kirishima reminded her as he walked with her.
Ashido blushed a little as she made her way towards the dormitory. Kirishima felt the chilly air go right through him, but he didn't mind as long as Ashido was warm underneath his jacket. They all made their way over to the dormitory and soon found themselves in front of the front gate. As they walked through, Kirishima felt weird walking over there without permission. He'd never been over to Class 1-B's dormitory before.
Once they made it to the door, Ashido knocked on it pretty hard. It made Kirishima and Midoriya jump a little since they were a little nervous coming here. Then the front door opened, and it was Kendo who answered it. She smiled widely, seeing her friends from Class 1-A here.
"Hey, Ashido! I haven't seen you in a while," Kendo said to her, "Come in, you guys must be freezing."
"Th-Thanks," Ashido said as she tried to warm herself up.
Ashido gave back Kirishima's jacket when she noticed how warm it was in the dormitory. He took it back, feeling a little warm himself. Kirishima looked around their dormitory and realized that their dormitory looked very similar to theirs, but with Class 1-B classmates everywhere. Since it was Sunday morning, everyone was either watching TV, playing a board game or just talking to one another.
"It's so nice to see you guys finally come over here," Kendo said to them with a smile, "What're you all up to?"
Kirishima was a little flustered even mentioning the love letter with a bunch of classmates running around. They really didn't want to accidentally have it spread around rumors about him getting a love letter. He especially didn't want Monoma seeing it.
"W-Well, we are actually here to talk to you. Since you're Class Rep. for this class, maybe you might know something about... well..." Uraraka tried to explain.
Then she realized that there were a lot of people running around and talking to each other. They could all tell that they needed to talk about this somewhere a little more private.
"Maybe we should talk about this somewhere--"
"Hey, Kirishima!"
Kirishima turned around to see his good friend, TetsuTetsu coming this way. He looked so excited to see his friend along with other classmates from his class. Kirishima smiled, happy to finally see him.
"Hey TetsuTetsu. I haven't seen you since The Winter Dance," Kirishima said back, "How have you been? I'm sure you two have been getting a lot of attention because of that performance."
"Yeah. It's great for Class 1-B's reputation," TetsuTetsu explained, "We've even gotten better in our hero combat training because of dance lessons."
"Really? That's awesome!" Ashido cried out, "Dancing can really help with flexibility. I should know, I'm pretty good at it myself."
"Yeah. She even taught us that performance that me and Ochaco performed," Midoriya said back with a smile.
Kendo and TetsuTetsu were shocked to hear this, especially since it was all anyone could talk about for the first year students. Class 1-A has gotten a lot of attention from that performance, and it even spread to the second year and third year students. It's all anyone could talk about recently.
If they had known about the sleepover or Uraraka and Bakugo switching bodies, things would've been very different.
"That's amazing! You have to teach me some dance moves," Kendo said to Ashido as she got a little closer.
Ashido's eyes widened with excitement, but then remembered the reason why they were here. She looked at Kirishima and knew that the dance moves could wait.
"Actually, can we hold off the dance lessons for another time?" Ashido asked her, "We really need to talk to you. Alone."
Kendo and TetsuTetsu shared a look, wondering what it could mean. TetsuTetsu said he'd see Kirishima around some other time and ran off. Kendo led them out of the common room and towards the kitchen. No one was over there, so she made sure that they were in a spot where she could keep an eye out for anyone coming by. She grabbed some hot tea and gave them all a cup to get warm. After they settled down at the counter space, Ashido looked at Kirishima.
"So... I think Kirishima should explain this," Ashido said to Kendo.
Kirishima knew that he'd have to step in and show her the love letter. He made sure no one was around and pulled out the letter. Kendo's eyes widened in shock, knowing right away what it was. Kirishima laid it down on the counter right in front of her.
"...Is this...?" Kendo asked them, trailing off.
"Yeah. It's a love letter..." Kirishima said to her with a slight blush across his face, "I found it in my locker yesterday when I was leaving. I thought maybe... someone else gave it to me, but it turned out to not be the case."
Kendo gave him a knowing look, and then looked at Ashido. Kirishima could tell that she knew who it was that he was thinking of, but luckily moved on from it.
"So, why are you bringing this to me?" Kendo asked him, and then her eyes widened, "Unless..."
"Yes. It's exactly what you think," Ashido said to her, "We think that someone from Class 1-B might've sent this love letter to Kirishima."
Kendo's eyes widened with shock, but had a smile subtly forming on her face. She looked at it and had the need to take a closer look, make sure it wasn't anyone that she knew.
"Do you mind if I look at it?" Kendo asked Kirishima.
"Y-Yeah. Sure," Kirishima said to her.
Kendo reached out for it and slowly opened it. Kirishima watched her read it and noticed that she was looking at the handwriting. He figured that she was trying to see if she recognized the handwriting since she was their Class Rep. after all. After she read it, she gave it back to Kirishima. He could tell that she looked like she still trying to figure it out.
"Well? What do you think?" Ashido asked her, "There's no name on it."
"Yes. I noticed," Kendo said back, "The handwriting looks slightly similar to Shiozaki, but I can't imagine why she'd keep this a secret."
Kirishima felt his face heat up when he remembered who Shiozaki was. He remembered her from the Sports Festival and winning the round against Kaminari. Remembering what she's like during the hero combat training that they had together, she didn't seem like his type. He scratched the back of his head, feeling a little uncomfortable if it really turned out to be true.
"Y-You really think that Shiozaki might've written the letter?" Kirishima asked Kendo.
"It's possible, but that doesn't mean that it is her," Kendo said back to him, "She hasn't said anything to me about you. I barely hear her talk about you, so I don't see that it could be her."
"Well, maybe we should talk to her," Midoriya suggested.
Kirishima felt a little nervous about talking to her, but really thought that this might be the only way to narrow it down. He noticed Ashido looking a little upset about something, but she seemed to shake it off right away. Before they could plan anything, someone came up behind them with open arms and a loud mouth.
"Well, well. If it isn't Class 1-A's performers and their friends," Monoma said to them.
Kirishima quietly and inconspicuously grabbed his love letter and tried to hide it from him. He was definitely someone to avoid in this sort of situation, but Kirishima didn't want him to notice. He tried to tuck it in, but not too quickly or else he might question what they are up to.
"Kendo, what're you doing with these performance stealers. They shouldn't even be here," Monoma said to Kendo with a wide smile.
Kendo gave him a dirty look and held up her hand like she was about karate chop him.
"Monoma. Midoriya and Uraraka are our friends. They didn't come here to for you to insult them," Kendo said to him.
"Then why did they come here? It seems like all they ever want is to cause trouble, so maybe they shouldn't be here. Don't want them spreading it to Class 1-B like they did during Summer Camp," Monoma said to them.
Kendo was about to karate chop him, but then Kirishima blocked her way and faced Monoma. She wasn't expecting that, even Ashido was a little surprised by his actions. Kirishima faced Monoma with a piercing glare, and Monoma didn't back down.
"Oh? It looks like your TetsuTetsu copy cat here is trying to stop me from pointing out the obvious. Even your pink girlfriend over there looks like she would like to do the same," Monoma said to them.
Kirishima really wanted to punch him for insulting his friends, but he really tried his best not to start a fight. Iida and Mr. Aizawa would never stop lecturing them. Instead, Kirishima just faced Monoma like he wasn't worth it.
"Monoma, we didn't come here to start a fight. Ashido is just here to help Kendo with her hero training," Kirishima said to him, "She's a great dancer, and she is the reason why our class's performance was as good as it was. Kendo was actually respectful enough to ask for help with some hero training from us. Unlike you, she is actually open to being friends with all of us."
Monoma looked so taken aback by his determination and stepped back a bit. Even Kendo and Ashido were shocked to see him so upfront about him being so rude to him and his classmates. Ashido felt something the moment he stepped up to face Monoma like that. Kirishima kept his eyes locked onto Monoma, and then he could tell that he was still trying to shake off what just happened.
"Fine. Whatever you're planning on doing here, just leave me out of it," Monoma said to him as he sent a glare back at Kirishima.
After a moment of glaring at each other, Monoma left them alone in the kitchen. Kirishima made sure he was out of ear shot before getting back to the love letter. Once he turned around, he noticed Ashido giving him a shocked smile.
"What?" Kirishima said to her.
"That was very sweet of you to say that about me, Kirishima," Ashido said with a smile, "If Shiozaki is the one that wrote you this letter, then she's very lucky."
Kirishima felt his cheeks warming up from the comment, and Kendo stepped up as Class 1-B's Class Rep.
"Okay then. Let's go find Shiozaki."
