Chapter 23
Metropolis, USA.
The sun was hot against Barbara's bare skin, she lay on a beach chair beside the pool wearing a red bikini with a large yellow R over her left breast, Kori was in a chair beside her, her golden brown skin glowing bright against her light purple swimsuit.
It had been several months since the Titans were formed to protect Metropolis and the week off was well earned, Chief of Police Carla Perez had assured them that the police would handle protection for the city, Dick and Barbara decided to start the week off with a trip to the pool.
Dick wore a pair of dark blue Batgirl swim trunks, Garfield's swim trunks were black and Pink, Kara had chosen a checkered blue and white bikini top and solid red bottoms with a matching swim skirt. The three were on the pool's deep end throwing a frisbee around.
Rachel was in the 2-foot section of the pool in a pair of black swim trunks and a dark blue swim top,
"Come on, you can come to the 4-foot section of the pool" Garfield called across the pool,
"I'm 3,9" She shouted back,
"That's only an inch" Rachel rolled her eyes,
"Yeah if I was breathing out the top of my head" It took a second before a slight blush appeared barely visible against his naturally red skin,
"Ok, not my brightest moment" He responded with a crooked smile,
"Hang on, I'll help you till you get the hang of it," Kara said gliding through the water toward the shallow end.
"Donna, what are you doing here?" Dick asked as a slim young woman with silky black hair approached the pool, she was wearing tight low-rise blue jeans, and a cropped red tank top, that revealed three inches of her muscular stomach.
"I'm ok" She answered, she was then pulled into an embrace,
"It's so good to see you," Barbara said, she released her "You want to join us?" She asked,
"I would love to, but I actually need to talk to you two" Dick had climbed out of the pool and was drying off,
"Is everything okay?" He asked,
"Can we talk somewhere more private?" Donna asked motioning away with her head,
"Yeah" Barbara turned back to the pool "We'll be right back, nobody drowns Rachel!" She yelled to the teenagers.
"What's up?" Dick asked,
"I just put in my application to become an official member of the Justice League, and I need some references" Donna looked between the two of them,
"Of course we will, but weren't you training under Wonder Woman? If anyone could give you a good word it'd be her" Barbara could tell that Donna was embarrassed, her face turning red,
"Yeah, she would, but she said she won't, she says she has to stay impartial" It was clear that Donna was unhappy about this,
"Well, we'd be happy to put in a good word for you" Dick assured her, Barbara placed her hand on Donna's shoulder, the sound of a distant explosion broke the moment.
I'm still working on the Halloween special I promised, I planned to release it all at the same time unfortunately halfway through writing it I had some medical issues with my eyes that lasted longer than I would have liked, right now my release schedule will be every other week with a new chapter, while I work on finishing the alternate universe story up, after I release that I'll update my release schedule.
