This this is a Re-write and Re-Telling of the Sonic Forces video game in a darker and dramatic way. Putting the story exactly where it needed to be. This is a Tale of the Resistance and their turmoil of a ruined world after the events of the attack in Metropolis City when their only hero gets taken away.
A MAJOR thanks to the Beta-Reader here on that helped me put this into words and to fix it as much as possible till I felt confident with it. Thanks to...

WARNING/DISCLAIMER! This is written with TEENS to ADULTS IN MIND. Bad Language is UNCENSORED.
In Context: Tails in this story is 16 yrs old. With that in mind. Sonic and everyone else are in their mid-twenties close to thirties. Reason for that is due to the tone of the story is Suspenseful Drama, Violence and Language. But don't worry they don't swear. Worst thing to come out of them is Damn. But... the OC's? Get ready to see that F-word quite a bit.
The Story is Drama first, Suspense and Action. In that order.
Another thing is that there aren't any Wisps elemental weapons of power. The weaponry is typical weapons used in military. Knives, Pistols, Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, and Shotguns.
Same goes for Super Powers. Sonic and Friends are still intact. Sonic super-fast, Tails can fly... etc, etc, but the OC's don't. They are just average nobodies trying to make a difference.

Chapter 3: The Sole Survivor of Group Six
Part 6: How am I still alive?
The morning sun slowly makes its way to the sky as Chris lays on the ground unconscious. Slowly coming to his senses, he rubs his head in pain. He slowly rises up to his feet muttering, "Wha… happened?" Looking forward, he sees nothing but an empty grassy field. But once he turns around, he sees the wreckage of the aircraft still on fire.
"What the…" He looks at the ground and distance to it. "Sixty-ish feet? …How'd I get here? …No. How the fuck am I still alive?" He looks at his communicator seeing that it's busted. 'Dammit, I can't call for help… but at least the compass still works.'
He faces to the east. 'Base is… that way. Which by air is a couple of hours… but by feet?' He sighs, "This is going to be a long ass walk," he complains to himself.
After hours of walking with the sun beating down on him, he sits down to take his black pants off. "Damn, it's getting hot. I thought I wasn't going to wear this shit again. I fucking hate this color." Taking them off, he then cuts them into shorts. He breathes a sigh of relief, "That's better."
Once done, he looks up and sees a town in the distance. "I could find something to drink… or a place to relax for a bit." He nods, not contemplating it any further, and heads towards it.
Approaching the entrance of town, he notices the towering, elegant wooden sign with the name: Nue Heaven.
'So that's where I am? Then that means…' He looks over to his right, seeing the dense forest. With a slight shake, he pulls his eyes away from it and heads into town.
Venturing into town, but unfortunately, every building he walks by is either destroyed or ransacked. Not giving up yet, he keeps walking deeper into town, until he notices something weird in the middle of the street. He mutters, "What the heck?"
Getting closer, he sees a circular sphere hovering off of the ground, made up of what looked like purple particles. 'Weird, this looks familiar… Wait… Is this from-?' He picks up a metal bar and walks slowly towards it, until he is standing six feet away from it. '-Yeah… it's the same shit from that weird monster up at the prison.'
Closer and closer about to poke at it with the bar, he looks directly at it, causing him to hear voices and see images in his head again. "Do it." The voice speaks out again into his mind.
"No! Gah!" He gasps, dropping the bar, remembering what almost happened last time, he quickly turns his back to it. Looking away from it, he begins to look up and sees someone in one of the stores looking right back.
"Hey, Stop right there!" he shouts. Whoever it is, leaves and heads into the next room. He gives chase.
Inside, the figure closes the door and locks it. He then runs off to hide somewhere in the dark storage room.
Moments later, Chris smashes through the window and prepares himself. Looking around in the dark storage room, he calls out, "Who's in here? I'm not going to hurt you. And if I was, I wouldn't be saying anything… right?" He hears footsteps approach him from his right, but before he has a chance to react, he gets punched in the face.
Staggering back, he bumps into a wall. "Geez…!" While rubbing the side of his face, he stares into the eyes of the attacker causing him to withdraw his next attack.
Chris smirks. "Nice punch," he says, putting down his guard and stands there looking at an orange teen fox with… 'Wha the… he has two tails?' Pulling his eyes away he asks, "Why are you sneaking around, kid?"
Insulted by the question, the teen corrects him back with, "I'm not a kid and I am not sneaking around."
"Looks to me like you were," Chris accuses him again, taking a step forward.
"I'm not sneaking around!" he argues back again. He then points at the purple particles. "I'm here for that." They both look at the purple particles… but what they see instead is robots aiming directly back at them.
"Shit!" Chris looks back at the teen, who was just standing there, frozen in place. "RUN!" he yells loudly.
Startled by the yell, the teen snaps out of it, and rushes to the broken window as Chris also makes a break for it.
At the back of the store, Chris busts out of the door, almost breaking it down as gun fire can be heard from inside the store. Not having even a single weapon on him to fight back, his only thought was to run away as fast as he could.
Suddenly, something orange zips right by him. It then stops and slowly goes into a slow, brisk jog to maintain the same pace Chris is running at, which he has no issues doing. Chris, on the other hand, is running with every ounce of strength he has left.
"You have got to be joking," the orange fox says in a judgmental tone.
"Oh shut up," Chris says back, stopping to catch his breath. "Cardio isn't my thing."
"I thought all hedgehogs were fast. I've never seen one run so slow!" he mocks.
Chris mocks back, "Ha, ha. Well I've never seen a fox with two-tails. What's up with that? Were you raised by a nuclear dump site?"
He looks at Chris with annoyance while Chris looks back with a smirk. Chris holds out his fist and then says, "My name is-"
"Rookie," he interrupts.
Chris stares at him in disbelief, lowering his fist while losing his smile and asks, "How do you know that?"
The teen checks one of his pouches and hands over a white plastic card.
Grabbing his I.D card out of his hand and without even looking at it, Chris already knew.
Knew how he survived the crash.
He then puts the I.D Card in the same pocket as before, still not taking his eyes off of the two-tailed fox. He then corrects him, "It's not Rookie. The name is Chris. So what's yours, since you know what mine is?"
The teen fox answers with a bit of hesitation, "My name is… is Miles."
Rewind back to last night, during Operation Smash and Grab…
Gently landing on the flying prison with his trusty bi-plane, Miles exits out able to see the Resistance aircrafts already approaching and landing with its bay door opening. Two attack groups exit out, causing distraction for the whole sky prison to focus on them. He kept his distance and also on tabs on how the rescue mission is going. With them causing enough disruption, it gives Miles time for him to enter and search for any supplies for himself.
Before arriving, he made sure to have his custom communicator that he invented. With it he needed to keep tabs on the Resistance to know where they are and how they're doing. The further he enters, the harder it is to maintain communication with any of them and hear what they're saying.
Needing to stop, he looks at his communicator. Nothing but static comes out of it. 'That's odd… what's causing such a massive interference around here?' he wonders while feeling anxious. He knew that he had to move fast and find anything he could get his hands on, also hoping he wouldn't bump into anyone.
Rushing into one of the maintenance work rooms, he searches high and low through cabinets and drawers. The alarms' sounds become more frantic all throughout the prison. Fortunately, Miles finds the final component he been searching for. "Finally, I thought I wasn't going to get my hands on you. Now I can get them to stop exploding." He shoves it into his pouch. "Now to get out of here…"
As he exits out of the room, the lights in the corridors deactivate. "Geez… they're really messing up this place." He looks at his tracker as the interference disrupts his current position on it. He was becoming worried. "Yeah… I'm out of here." He runs down the dark corridors.
Exiting out and into a large open area, one look to his right and he sees a rather large dark grey furred wolf Resistance soldier messing with a computer console. "Eeep!" Startled from the sight, he darts right back into the corridor. 'A soldier… here?' Slowly peeking out, he can hear the wolf angrily swearing to himself struggling to get a massive vault door open. 'Why is he so far from his group?' Looking at one of the many corridors, he can hear the gunfire coming out from one of them. 'His group is over there… so why is he here? They aren't supposed to go far or be separated from each other.'
He turns his attention back to the soldier. 'He's too focused trying to get the door open.' Seeing how tall the wolf is, he thinks of the probability of getting caught. 'If I stay low to the floor, I can sneak by without him noticing.' Quietly sneaking by, almost reaching the exit…
The wolf complains, "Dammit… what the fuck…" then back to angrily muttering to himself.
Miles looks back concerned. 'He's either going to quit or… or do something worse. He might do something drastic, alerting robots to his presence. I have to go help him.'
Quietly, he sneaks right back and gets right behind the wolf wondering why he's having such an issue. With one quick scan with his eyes, he figures it out. 'Really? He doesn't notice the button to open the door?' From the button, his eyes go up to the towering wolf and as soon as he looks away from the computer screen, Miles quickly reaches out pressing the button.
The massive vault like door comes to life as it opens and slides upward. The wolf can be heard, "Son of a… I was about to C4 the fuck out of this door." and begins to enter the hallway.
'I hope you find what you're looking… for-' about to leave, he hears the wolf's frustrated growls coming from within the hallway. Curious as to why, he peeps into the hallway seeing yet another vault like door blocking his way. He sighs at the sight, 'Can't help you now, you're on your own on this one. I have to get out of here.' He rushes into one of the correct dark corridor to make his escape.
But as he runs, he quickly turns a corner being introduced by yet another Resistance soldier aiming his rifle down the corridor. "Yeep!" Startled from it, he quickly backs off and hides. 'Again? Another one? Did he see me?' He slightly looks back. 'Why is he just standing there? Guess I'm not going that way.' He looks up and sees a clear opening. 'If I can't walk by, then I'll fly right over you.' He peeks out again to check what the green hedgehog is doing and sees him looking at the door. 'Now.' He takes flight and flies right over him.
Landing back down, he runs straight to the bi-plane, not looking back. Quickly opening the side hatch, he shoves everything into it and jumps into the driver's seat. Turning the key and starting the engine preparing to escape, a thunderous metallic sound nearby startles him. "What was that?" he asks, facing the direction the loud sound came from.
Distracted and filled with concern about the noise, an aircraft comes flying right over him. "Woah!" Staring at it, suddenly he hears somebody yelling as a body comes falling from the night sky, slamming onto the floor close to the plane. "Gah! What the… what?" Then another body collides to the floor farther away from where the first landed. He quickly looks up at the aircraft again as the cockpit explodes, causing it to spin out of control. He watches it fall, going out of view while on fire, and it heads right back down to the ground.
"Oh no, I have to-" Something bright purple flies up into the air. Miles looks up and sees the Masked Figure shooting right into the night sky, disappearing into the darkness.
"It's him… It's…" He shakes his head trying not to panic; he turns his focus to where the aircraft fell down. 'I have to get to them and hope that they're okay.' He quickly flies away from the prison.
Landing and exiting out, he rushes to the downed aircraft, hoping to find anyone alive. With the aircraft in flames, he looks down and sees gasoline spilled everywhere. Looking back up, he sees that the bay door is ripped right off. 'That was the loud metallic sound that I heard.' Without hesitation, he runs right inside and hopes to find anyone.
He stops at the entrance feeling the blistering heat. From the entrance he shouts, "Hello? Anyone here…? Anyone?" But no one answers. Entering, he frantically looks everywhere inside, he finds only one person unconscious. Grabbing the soldier by his shoulders and dragging him out, he manages to get him to a safe enough distance until the aircraft explodes, knocking them both down.
As he gets up, he quickly pats all around himself to see if he's okay. He checks on the soldier to see if he's ok. Placing his ear to his chest to check, "He's breathing. Good," he says, relieved. Calmly, he sits right back down next to the soldier, catching his own breath. He looks up and watches the aircraft consumed by the flames. He was still able to feel the heat from it. Turning back to the soldier, he goes through his pockets. In one of the pockets, he finds his I.D Card. He looks at it and laughs while looking at the soldier. "Rookie? They must've really hated you to call you that." He puts the I.D Card in his pouch and heads back to his plane.
Fast Forward…
Part 7: He Looks Almost Like Him
At the Resistance Base Training Field…
"Alright, that's enough for now. Relax for a couple of minutes. I'll be right back," Barnett orders as he heads into his barracks.
All four of his recruits stood around under the hot sun as he left. As soon as he entered the barracks, they quickly head to the nearest patch of shade, and collapse from exhaustion.
"Ahhh… Ugh! I think I'm going to die," Eddie complains.
"Not before me you're not. I need someone to give my stuff to Lance," Edward says to him.
"Wait, WHAT? Oh, screw you. Your stupid shit's supposed to be for me!" Eddie argues back.
While both of them argue with each other, POS gets up and walks off towards the hospital building, picking up trash along the way.
Dumping it all into a trash can close to the entrance of the building, he hears two nurses talking. "Can't believe they actually found him… They found him… Sonic!" the young nurse says relieved.
"I'm just as surprised as you are. Everyone's also in a better mood, especially the commander, even though he still gets angry from time to time. But I actually saw him smile for once," The other nurse that looks after Sonic says lightheartedly.
The young nurse looks over to the hospital doors. "Is Sonic even ok? He was really banged up when I last saw him. Did you see what they did to his legs?"
"Yeah, it was pretty bad but I think he's going to be okay… It's just going to take a while for him to get better. They really tortured him where it matters the most," she answers back concerned.
POS stands there overhearing the two nurses talking. He wanted to go see how Sonic was doing but he knew he wasn't allowed. He turns around, about to head back when he notices a Drill Sergeant walking directly towards him. "Uh-oh," he says to himself noticing how far he is from the rest of the other guys.
"Who's in charge of you?" he orders.
"Uh… am.. with um.. with Drill Sergeant Barnett." POS struggling to talk.
"WHY ARE YOU WANDERING AROUND HERE FOR?!"
"We're on break. I just wanted to walk around for-"
"WHAT'S YOUR NAME?!" he interrupts him.
"It's- it's Philip. I didn't mean any-"
"Get back to your group AND STAY THERE!" he shouts.
"O-okay," he says as he quickly starts heading back.
"STOP!" he orders. POS turns around. "Barnett was it? Your name isn't with him." he states, looking at a list.
He begins thinking why until he realizes what name is actually written on it. He answers, "It- it's POS. The name is POS."
The instructor looks at him and smiles and before he laughs… POS turns and walks away.
"HEY, COME BACK!" the instructor orders.
POS refuses. He just kept on walking with a disappointed look on his face.
Reaching back to his group, he sees Eddie and Edward struggling to stay awake. POS stands there, bitter about what just happened as Lance stands next to him and pats him on the shoulder, somehow knowing. The Labrador speaks softly, "My name is Philip. I just… want people to depend on me and look past my name as POS." He looks up at Lance. "Can't wait for that day to come."
"C'MON! How long is he going to stay in there this time? It's been a couple of hours." Edward whines.
"No idea, but the last time your dumbass took a cat nap we all got in trouble for it, so stay awake," One of the twins say insultingly.
"Oh, shut up." "You, shut up." "No you shut-" "MAKE ME!" "I WILL!"
Both Eddie and Edward argue and fight with each other as both POS and Lance watch it all happen.
But unfortunately for the twins, Trish is walking around and sees them both fighting. Giving them both a glare, she looks around for Barnett and notices that he's not around. She then looks over to his barracks and knows that he's in there. She walks towards it and enters it to talk to him about those two.
Rewind a couple of hours…
Miles, unable to take his eyes off of Chris, a baffling realization slowly dawns on him why he couldn't. 'No… I…I can't take my eyes off of him. He looks almost… like him. He almost has same physique and stance. Only difference is that he's green and probably older too and heck… he can't even run. I…I have to get away from him. He makes me think about him too much.' He looks away and begins to walk off giving his meager goodbye, "I… I have to get going."
Chris quickly asks him, making him stop, "Wait, you said something about those particles back there. You know something about it?"
"What if I do?" he asks back not looking.
He crosses his arms accusing, "Well the fact that I was about to poke at it and you didn't even stop me."
Miles answers, trying not to look directly at him. "Yes, you were, and… I was curious to see what would happen if you did."
"That's great. Do you… see weird images or hear voices too when you look at it?" Chris wonders.
Miles looks at him oddly. "No… do you?"
Chris answers scratching the back of his head, "Yeah, like it wants me to do something."
Miles looks at him scratching the back of his head, just like Sonic does, but then looks at the Tornado, really wanting to leave. But he also really wanted to know what those voices in Chris' head were saying to him. He sighs, "Come with me. You have me curious about those voices," he says, walking away.
Chris starts chuckling. "You really think you're that smart? Cute," he teases.
Miles stops again, looks at him and thinks to himself, 'He really doesn't know who I am...' He smiles and says, "Yeah. I really am, and I'll make you eat those words! I'll give you a lift back to my place." He continues walking off.
"A lift?" Chris asks happily, quickly catching up.
"Yup. My plane is this way."
Reaching the bi-plane, Chris looks at it, "Wow… what a classic. You don't see those anymore."
"It's called the Tornado," Miles responds as he puts components and food into the side compartment.
He stands there admiring it. "You built her?"
Miles stops putting his things inside, and struggles to get out an answer. "It… used to… belong to someone I knew."
Realizing his mistake, he apologizes, "Oooh, uhh… sorry. How long ago did it happen?"
Miles doesn't answer right away. He gets into the Tornado and answers, "It was about half a year ago." He turns on the engine. "Let's go."
Not hesitating to climb on, Chris mutters, "You don't have to tell me fucking twice."
They set off to where Miles lives.
On the plane ride back, Chris figures out where they are. "Um… We're getting really close to the Resistance Base. They're going to pick us up on their radar."
Miles shakes his head and explains back, "No, they won't. The Tornado is highly cloaked. They're never going to catch this plane on radar."
This fox just kept impresses him time and time again. He regrets the things he said about him earlier. He quips, "You need to work on your in-flight meals."
Miles is confused by what he said just now. "Huh? But I never gave you anything."
"Yeah, you have. You fed me back my words," he replies back as an apology.
Landing at a hidden base located close to the Resistance Base, Miles and Chris exit the bi-plane, with Chris looking at the Resistance Base that's not too far away. He asks, "How long have you been here?"
"Months," Miles answers, grabbing some of the gear, components and food out of the Tornado. He then stacks them on top of each other.
"And they don't know?" Chris asks, still looking at the Base.
"Nope," he answers while balancing it all along the way.
He starts heading towards the Resistance Base. "They're probably worried about me. I should go and head back-"
"NO!" Miles shouts back, dropping mostly everything.
"Why?" he asks as he stops.
Quickly coming up with an excuse, Miles warns him, "Uh… you… uh… might be contaminated."
"Contaminated?" Chris asks worried, checking over himself.
Miles approaches Chris as he checks him over while explaining, "The particles, the voices and the hallucinations might be contagious. If they are, do you really want to have it spread in the Resistance Base?"
Chris sighs, "Crap… you're right." 'I can't go back. Miles knows more about the particles than me.' He checks himself out and asks, wondering, "What's the plan then?"
"We have to find more particles. That town might have some," Miles says, pointing at it.
Meanwhile at the Resistance Base Hospital, Sonic has been on the hospital bed for nearly a day now. The nurse taking care of him leaves the room. Amy was now the only one there. He looks at her while rubbing the bandages on his legs, and asks, "Have you heard anything about Tails? Is he here?"
She looks at him sadly and says, "No. When you were captured… he just disappeared. No one's seen him since. Some people think they've seen him but… there's been next to nothing about him. He's out there somewhere… I hope."
He lowers his head in sadness and before he can blame himself, Amy gets up and says, "I have to go check something. I'll be right back." Once he sees her leave the room, he slowly looks all around. With Amy now gone from his side, he slowly gets out of bed and-
"What are you doing?" He looks at the doorway seeing Amy standing there blocking the way.
Nervously he answers, "Uhhh… hehe, I wasn't thinking about going for a run or-"
"Lie!" she says, glaring at him.
He confesses, "Alright, I was going to try and run around for a bit."
She gives an uncompromising look, "It's too early for you to be doing that. Everyone would lose their minds if you did. Heck, I'm already losing it just seeing you standing," she says worriedly, still blocking the doorway.
"It's only going to be for a little while. Stretch the legs…" He stretches his legs while trying to hide his pain. "…finally get some ex… er… xer… cise…" He falls to his knees. "Ow!"
Rubbing his legs so the pain will stop, he begins to beg. "PLEASE AMY! It's been so long. I promise I won't do anything stupid, crazy or… or… get into danger. I PROMISE."
She sighs and gives in, "Fine, but I know how far and fast you get around. So you have… twenty minutes to get back."
"Thankyouthankyou…" He says, getting up, and quietly limps off happily. "You won't regret it."
"I already am," she whispers back, concerned, grabbing her keys she came back for.
From the corner of the hospital building, a door opens as Sonic sneaks out. He then quietly closes the door behind him. Taking a couple of steps to get out of the shade, he feels the sun on himself. Not feeling it for such a long time, he stops and faces it, making him smile, only to then frown as he takes in the red sky, causing him to remember what happened to him on that day. He closes his eyes and relaxes, taking in the rays of the sun. He then looks out into the field seeing a town nearby.
With his decision made on what he wants to do now, he looks down at his 'worse for wear' legs all bandaged up. He feels a little depressed looking at them, but he then begins motivating himself. 'Baby steps. Before I know it, I'll be back… good as new. I can't get better if I don't at least try.'
He begins to stretch and then starts to walk, jog and then slightly limps and stops. Rubbing his legs so that the pain will stop, he looks back at the town. "I can do this," he says out loud. He starts to jog then slowly picks up speed struggling to run, until he finally speeds off.
At the town, Chris and Miles are checking different spots to see if they can find anything. So far there's nothing as Chris looks everywhere. "Geez… would've been nice if he handed me one of those scanners of his."
As he walks back and forth down the roads, trying to spot anything, something blue quickly runs right by him.
Chris' eyes widen in disbelief, realizing who it was. "No way… was that… Sonic?"
Sonic zips right back and says, "Knew I saw someone."
"How… when… you're back?" Chris says surprised.
"That's right!" He points as he attempts to balance on one foot but loses his balance stumbling forward.
Chris eyes go down to his legs noticing his bandages on them. "Whoa!"
Sonic also looks down to them making an excuse, "Oh yeah, I'm kinda going through something at the moment." He quickly points again causing Chris to look away from his legs, "But don't tell anyone that you saw me, alright?"
"Yeah. Sure. I promise," he says with a smile.
"Sweet," he says as he looks at his watch as it closes in on twenty minutes. "I gotta run - laters!" He quickly runs off only to then run right back to Chris, startling him from it. "Sorry, didn't get your name."
"I'm Chris, but…" He looks over to the base. "…but most call me Rookie," he answers.
"Alright, catch ya later, Chris But Most Call Me Rookie," Sonic says as he runs off again.
"Sure. See you later," he mutters, shaking his head. "Yeah, right… Like that's going to happen again. What are the chances of me ever seeing him again?" he whispers, still surprised to have even seen him.
After searching every inch of the town and not being able to find anything, he heads back to Miles.
Miles, looking at his scanners trying to find anything, looks up and notices someone walking to him. With a slight glance, he sees Sonic walking towards him, and then he looks back to his scanners.
Shocked by it, he looks back to make sure, but it's only Chris approaching him instead. Breathing heavily, he rubs the back of his head trying not to lose it or get depressed by it.
Chris reaches him, and sees Miles rubbing the back of his head. Concerned, he asks, "You doing alright?"
Miles doesn't meet his gaze, trying his best to remain calm. "I'm okay." From the corner of his eyes he asks, "Did you find anything?"
He immediately thinks about Sonic and the promise that he made to him, but he decides not to tell him that he met him. "Nah. Not a damn thing. What about you?"
Miles shakes his head. "My scanners would have found anything, and I got nothing." He looks at Chris. "There's still a couple of towns to check. It might take a couple of days to check all of them."
Chris looks at the Resistance Base. "I got nothing better to do. Looks like we're in this together."
Miles slightly smiles back hearing those words. He hasn't been around anyone for a long time. Hearing it come from someone else, he slowly gets a feeling he hasn't felt in a long time… hope.
Meanwhile, Sonic heads back to base and goes back to the door he exited out from. He gently grabs the door knob and quietly opens it. Taking one step inside, he looks and… "Uh-oh… please don't tell anyone," he says in a worried tone, seeing someone standing there with a clipboard.
Rewind thirty minutes…
Out in the training field Barnett is inside his barracks while his recruits are outside. Trish knocks and opens his door. She looks at Barnett upset.
"What is it?" he asks as he gets up from his seat.
"Two of your men are being foolish," she answers back annoyed.
With a smile he asks, "Foolish? What do you consider foolish?"
She crosses her arms. "Two of them… well to put it literally; they're having a cat fight."
He sighs, trying not to show his disappointment and grabs something out of a drawer. "It's the twins," he says and walks right by her, heading out.
She watches him exit, leaving her alone in his sleeping quarters. She looks at the table he was sitting at, noticing a picture frame on it. It was facing away from her, not letting her see what was on it. She looks back at the door and then slowly walks over to it to get a better look. She notices a bottle of whiskey right next to the picture frame. As she was about to see who's on it, the door opens causing her to back away from it.
He walks right back in. "Problem solved. Can't be separated, right?" he says as he walks to the desk and takes a drink.
She exits out of the barracks. Walking to where POS and Lance are, she stands next to them. They all look at Eddie handcuffed to a pole and thirty feet away, Edward is handcuffed to another pole.
"Don't look at me, DON'T LOOK AT ME!" Eddie shouts to his brother.
"Pfft, I'LL LOOK AT YOU ALL I WANT! I'M NOT TAKING ALL OF THIS BLAME!" Edward shouts back.
Trish asks, "Whose fault is it?"
"I know exactly whose fault it is… I just can't say since I can't tell them apart," POS answers.
Trish just walks away while shaking her head.
Lance was staring with disapproval. "Yeah, I agree," POS said.
While Trish was heading to the H.Q, at a distance, something catches her eye in the field. "Hmm?" She notices someone running. "No… can't be." That something turns into a streak of blue blur. As she stands there watching as it finally disappears heading to the nearest town. She then smiles and walks away, knowing where to meet him when he comes back.
Fast Forward…
Sonic, worried about getting caught, he pleads, "Please don't tell anyone."
She stays silent, then sticks out one finger and says, "One request."
"What is it?"
"Do… this… often," She pleads.
Caught off guard by her request, he asks, "Really?"
"Yes," she says being sincere. "When I saw you run off… it made me feel hopeful once again. It's been a long time since I've had that feeling. I want everyone else to have that feeling too. You're that hope Sonic. So run… often." She turns around and walks away finishing with, "I won't tell anyone about this."
"Thanks," he says right back, smiling.
End of Chapter. Thanks for Reading.
