Author's Note: I realized that I forgot include an author's note with more information about Adam, who is a character that showed up in "Chaos Gets You Everywhere". Adam works for Zach Slater (All My Children). In that story, Helena had kidnapped Kellie, Tyler, Sam, Sage, and Nikolas and was holding them on Spoon Island. Luis has also kidnapped and left Alexis and Danny in a jungle island somewhere. With both the Corinthos and Alcazar resources stretched thin, Aidan Devane (AMC), who had worked with Kellie at the WSB, and he enlisted Zach to lend men, including Adam, to help with the search. Adam ended up getting a team of people on to Spoon island before Luis Alcazar barricaded it after Helena had tried to brainwash Kellie. Adam actually gave Kellie, who was pretending to be brainwashed, the bullet that made it look like she had killed Sam. Adam and his team worked with Kellie get all the hostage off the island. It was also revealed that Zach and Adam actually provided some sort of assistance to Kellie in faking her death in Florida to get away from her rapist/stalker years. I meant to include that info earlier since Adam is a lesser known OC.
It's been fascinating to see what characters or elements from earlier stories ended being referenced in this one. Adam was an obvious choice for providing back up to Laura and her team in Greenland once it became clear Zach Slater would be referenced as a resource in this story for finding Spencer and Trina. Then when I was trying to figure out how Charles could still be alive, I realized the answer was in "Chaos Gets You Everywhere" with the modified bullet Kellie shot Sam with. Of course, the Cassadines would get their hands on a nastier version of it.
Hope you all have great weekend and happy reading!
Port Charles
Kellie answered a call from an unknown number, "Hello."
"Kellie, it's Adam," Adam said.
"It's about time," Kellie said, "Are you okay? Did you find Spencer?"
"Spencer is with his grandmother and had quite the reunion with Miss Trina Robinson," Adam replied, "All of our people have been able to get out of the area relatively undetected after getting anyone the WSB would be certain was here to the island. We'll be able to keep your name out of it. Give the WSB less people to harass over this."
"Appreciated," Kellie said, "I'm glad you're alright. Did you lose reception?"
"And got debris caught in the prop after finding Spencer in the water," Adam said, "We limped to shore. Once we caught up with Mayor Collins, I left to reunite with my team. We will come back to sweep the area once the WSB clears out to see if there's anything else just in case."
"Well, get some rest and tell Slater you all earned bonuses," Kellie said.
"Might help if you tell him that yourself," Adam said.
"Oh, I will," Kellie said.
"We got Spencer," Kellie said to the group around here after ending the call. Everyone cheered.
Kellie breathed a sigh of relief as Jason wrapped his arms around her and she leaned against him.
As the cheering subside, Kellie stepped away from Jason.
"Make sure to log out of whatever computers you were using here," Kellie said, "Spinelli, you know what to do. As far as anyone's concerned our people were never there. With the WSB showing up, Adam and team made sure that the people the WSB would be looking for made it to safety and then made themselves scarce. If the WSB or law enforcement ask questions, make sure your attorney is present. With how fast Frisco Jones was fired as director, I'd be cautious with the WSB at this time. And remember this room does not exist except as storage for the studio."
Everyone logged out and Spinelli with a few strokes of the key board had covers coming down from the walls hiding the screens and equipment. Johnny was grabbing the computers and other equipment to go in a storage room. The room now looked more like a warehouse or storage space.
"Go home, see your families, shower, get some sleep," Kellie said, "Drinks will be on me at the Floating Rib at 7 pm."
Greenland
Meanwhile, Spencer, Trina, and the rest the group continued walking to where the WSB had transport of the island waiting.
Spencer kept looking over at Charles. He didn't have a clear look at him, but thought he looked familiar.
"Who's the man that looks like he's been lost in the mountains without a razor?" Spencer asked Trina, "I feel like I should know him."
"I'm not even sure where to start," Trina replied.
Laura overheard the question and walked over.
"He's a man that just wants to get home to his family in Port Charles," Laura said, said in hushed tones, "That is where we will leave it."
"Someone my Uncle Victor was holding captive," Spencer said.
"It's a little complicated given everything that's happened here," Laura said, "We're not giving the WSB any information about him just yet. We don't want him being whisked him off to parts unknown, but having the WSB pick him up will help towards confirming his identity."
"But the more people that know he's here and the closer he gets to home, the harder it is for the WSB to keep him elsewhere," Spencer said, catching a better glimpse of Charles.
"Holy sh…." Spencer gasped and then quieted down.
"I assume I don't have to stress how important it is that you keep anything you think you know to yourself," Laura said, "Anna's working on notifying his family."
Kellie and Jason's Home
Kellie and Jason walked inside the house.
"Jamie, Jared, Alyssa," Kellie called. Kellie heard footsteps running down the stairs and she found Jared in the kitchen getting snacks with Kelsey out of the fridge.
"Mommy, Daddy," Kelsey yelled, running to Jason who picked her up.
"So Mom," Jared said, "Do you want to explain why you made us go to bed at a regular time and then kept us home from school."
"I wasn't sure if the world was going to end or not," Kellie said, "Decided you should stay home if that was case."
"Well that's just ridiculous," Jared said, "Granted I'm sure Spencer and his over dramatic ego thought it was the end of the world."
"Mom, did you save Spencer?" Alyssa yelled, running into the room and hugging Kellie as Jamie trailed behind her.
"Spencer is safe,"' Kellie said, "And on his way back to Port Charles."
"You told him to come for dinner, right," Alyssa said.
Jared and Jamie groaned.
"He's family," Alyssa said, "Deal with it."
"I know Spencer's not your favorite person," Kellie said, "But Alyssa has a point. I will be inviting him to dinner and letting him know he's welcome to spend a weekend here if he wants to. We need to make sure he knows he's still welcome to come around, especially with his dad gone now too. I should have done a better job of that when we moved from California to Port Charles. I haven't talked to Spencer yet, but I will when he gets back."
"We'll just have to remind Spencer he's not prince of anything here," Jamie said, smirking.
"Be nice and keep it civil or rather stick to pranks like you did in California," Kellie said.
Jared and Jamie looked at each other, grabbed snacks and left.
Alyssa chased after them, "You better clear any pranks with me."
"Pranks?" Jason asked.
"Should make Spencer feel right at home," Kellie said.
