A gorgeous yellow glow was peaking through the leaves as the sun rose from its rest. Gengar was the first to wake up, yawning as he left his bedroll. He groaned as the sun's glare shined directly into his eyes. The others soon followed with Infernape being the last to awaken. The fire type's eyes were slightly red and dark half-circles were underneath his eyes.
"Hey, Infernape, did you get any sleep," Aggron asked, concerned for his friend. Infernape just waved it off,
"It's fine, I got some sleep." The others seemed unsatisfied with his answer but decided not to pry.
The group stealthily entered Boltien, Pokemon in black masks patrolled the streets, looking for any excuse to assault an innocent. The five hid in an alley and Gardevoir decided to get some information.
"We can't stay here. Ampharos, is there anywhere safe we can hide?" she asked. Ampharos took a moment to think,
"Umm, there is an old factory. I'm not sure if the Black Masks are using it though" he admitted.
"It's the only option so I guess we have no choice." Aggron pointed out. The group nodded and Ampharos proceeded to begin guiding them through town. However, their plan would not come to fruition.
They traveled deeper and deeper into the town. The density of patrolmen grew as they traveled closer and closer to the center. Stealth was becoming an increasingly difficult endeavor, but this was where Gengar became a major help. Grabbing some trash bags, empty cereal and pizza boxes, and rubber bands, he quickly fashioned makeshift coats for the group to put on. Once they did, Gengar raised his hands and turned those jackets invisible.
"As long as we're in darkness, we'll be hidden. Now let's go, my trash children."
The factory was now within eyesight. They then began to sprint towards their safe haven. Suddenly, the group heard a commotion and peeked out to see what was happening. Pangoro and a few black masks had arrived. He surveyed the area before his eyes laid upon a certain Pokemon.
"Well then, Scizor. It's time to pay tax," he ordered. Scizor was hiding partially behind the door, he whispered to someone before leaving the house.
"I don't have the money right now. Just wait until the end of the week and I'll have it," confessed Scizor as he fell onto his knees to pay respect. Pangoro scowled at the steel type, clearly angered,
"Since when did I say you could delay the payment?" he growled.
"Please. Just let me off this one time and I-" Pangoro slammed Scizor's head into the ground. A sickening crack erupted as a small crater formed from the impact. Ampharos averted his eyes, and Infernape simply stared at the events unfolding. Gengar grimaced at the sight, he never got used to those sounds. Aggron gritted his teeth and Gardevoir gasped.
"Get his family out here. I want to teach them a lesson." Pangoro demanded. His goons ran inside Scizor's home, ransacking the place. They forcefully dragged out a Scyther and a Caterpie and held them in place. Pangoro cracked his knuckles as he picked up Scizor,
"THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T PAY!" he roared as he slammed Scizor into the pavement. Another bloodcurdling crack erupted as bones ruptured. Scyther and Caterpie were screaming in horror and Pangoro slammed Scizor again and again. His yells of agony echoed throughout the town. Aggron's focus was taken away from the horrific scene as he noticed the lid of a trash can was floating in mid-air. He recognized the blue aura around it and looked over at Gardevoir, who looked furious. Her heart panged, threatening to tear itself out of her chest. Immediately, her rational mind tried to stop herself. Stick with the plan. However, something else within her was taking control. These innocent people were being hurt and she could do nothing but watch. Ego vanished for a precious few moments. Aggron noticed her growing rage,
"Don't do it," he said, "It's too risky. We'll get caught." Gardevoir ignored him. Gengar chimed in,
"For once, Stupid is right." Gengar chimed in.
Gardevoir sprinted towards Pangoro. She didn't care what the others had to say. There was no way that she could ignore this. Other civilians noticed her and cried,
"DON'T DO IT!" Again, she ignored these voices. The only thing she cared about was stopping Pangoro. She crashed the trash lid into Pangoro's cheek as hard as she could. The clang from the impact eclipsed all other noises. Pangoro fell down onto one knee, covering the point of impact. Gardevoir glared viciously at Pangoro, readying another attack when reason came back to her. She looked at her own hand as she realized what she had done. She had outed herself and by extension the group. Fear gripped her as Pangoro stood up,
"You brave bitch. You just threw your life away to protect some loser." Gardevoir took a step back but Pangoro charged towards her. Aggron rushed to block Pangoro's initial attack.
"Oh, so there's more of ya. I'm not complaining, it'll be great stress relief!" Pangoro jeered as he struck Aggron with his head. The steel type stumbled back,
"GO! I'LL HOLD HIM OFF!" he ordered to Gardevoir. Gardevoir looked at him then at Scizor and his family. Thinking on her feet, she grabbed Scizor and his family with psychokinesis and threw them toward Infernape, Ampharos, and Gengar. One of the Black Masks slammed a bat into her head with a sickening crack. She fell onto the ground unconscious. Aggron looked back and was struck by Pangoro.
Aggron stumbled back and Pangoro threw another punch. Aggron caught the attack and was surprised that he actually held it back. Apparently, so was Pangoro. The latter shook this off and grabbed the steel type by the arm and threw him toward an alley. Aggron crashed into a dumpster and saw Pangoro lunging toward him. Aggron used the dumpster as a shield. The dumpster split in half from the force of the dark type's punch. Pangoro smirked as he looked behind Aggron. Aggron looked back to see a Gallade rushing towards him with a glowing orange fist. Before he could even react, Gallade punched him in the stomach, immediately knocking him out and sending him into a nearby home. People gasped as the entire house collapsed over the steel type. Gallade sighed as he picked up the steel type and looked at his boss.
"Come on, man. He's not that strong". Pangoro glared at the psychic type,
"Shut it, What position am I in? That's right, the boss, so shut the fuck up!" he snapped. Under his breath, Gallade muttered,
"The position you stole from a better leader."
Infernape, Gengar and Ampharos grabbed Scizor and his family and ran. Ampharos led the way to the abandoned factory. Black Masks were hot on their heels as they dashed and weaved through the town. Gengar threw a shadow ball at the dirt, creating a massive dust cloud to cover their escape. They rushed into the factory. Infernape heard some Black Masks were in pursuit so he threw a pipe he found down a hallway. The Black Masks followed the noise, giving our three heroes time to rest. They decided to hide in the packing area of the factory. Rows upon rows of boxes with unknown products rested. Ampharos emptied out a few boxes and made a makeshift bed for Scizor to rest on. His head was bleeding so Gengar left to find a first aid kit. The family was somewhat camouflaged in the shadows.
"Are you guys alright?" Ampharos asked. Scyther and Caterpie nodded. Scizor groaned,
"You…should leave. It's... too dangerous. Pangoro...he's-he's invincible." Scyther immediately embraced her husband. Gengar returned with a first aid kit and wrapped up Scizors head.
"I have no clue what I'm doing but I hope this helps." Ampharos looked around noticing something,
"Where is Infernape?"
The two told the family to stay where they were and they went to find Infernape. It didn't take long as he was near the entrance of the packing section. Although, he wasn't listening for any Black Masks. He was sitting, curled up by the entrance, wanting to be left alone. Ampharos sat down next to him,
"Hey, Infernape. Are-Are you alright?"
"She didn't listen," Infernape muttered, his voice was broken. He was like a wilted flower, his condition was obvious. "I told her that it was pointless, that no matter what happened, nothing would change. Clearly, she didn't listen. I didn't listen." Ampharos looked over at Gengar, who looked concerned.
"Listen, what is going on? We haven't lost yet." Ampharos pointed out.
"Yes, we have. The moment I joined, I doomed us all. Let's just leave before Pangoro destroys the city." argued Infernape. Gengar shook his head,
"No, we haven't. Infernape, where the hell did all this defeatist bullshit come from?" Infernape just curled up tighter. Gengar gritted his teeth, "Your friend is out there. You're just gonna leave her to die because of some stupid-"
"YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!" Infernape yelled, "It's happened before." he then sighed, "I was in my senior year in high school. I was seventeen and I was the school valedictorian…" Infernape began his story, as Gengar and Ampharos listened in.
"All right class, it appears you all did reasonably well on the test. Of course, we cannot forget those who got one hundred on the test." One student, a Zorua, rolled his eyes in jealousy,
"Just say Monferno, we all know he passed."
"I didn't ask for back talk, Zorua. Now then, can we give a round of applause for Lee." The class gave an ovation to the orange monkey, smug confidence written all over his face. A few more students' names were being listed off but Monferno got the most uproar. The class continued onwards, working on trigonometry questions, with Zorua giving the fire type a death glare.
As the final bell rang, Monferno rushed out of the door. As he ran, other students waved and cheered as he passed by. Monferno went around talking with some, laughing with others. He then met up with his best friends: a yellow and green quadruped with bushes coming out of his back. He had a red, yellow, and blue varsity jacket with two holes on the back to accommodate the bushes on his back. There was also blue penguin-like figure with two yellow ridges on his head wearing a similar varsity jacket, without extra holes, and holding a second jacket in his hands. The penguin waved to the fire type,
"Bonjour monsieur, Lee. Here's your jacket from the dry cleaners."
"Thanks, Tetsu, I needed it after that food fight. Say, your Kalolian is getting really good. Monferno complimented, putting on the jacket.
"Thank you." Monferno then looked toward his friend Grotle,
"How are you, Mit."
"Great, my internship is going really well, plus I had a fantastic date with Floette."
"Ah-ha, you lucky son of a bitch."
"I'm not that lucky. You'll find your true love eventually." Grotle said optimistically.
"Thanks, buddy" The three began to walk from the school and towards a nearby festival. Various tents and rides had been set up, alongside food stalls with grossly unhealthy food. As they traveled, Monferno noticed the cheerleading team walking together, staring at the three Pokémon. Monferno blew a kiss at the team, causing them to blush and start talking amongst themselves. Monferno chuckled to himself with a grin as they walked past some tents. Monferno noticed one tent in particular:
"Psychic Vision. What is your future?" Monferno read out loud from the sign.
"You wanna check it out. I think this tent was in the capital when I visited," Prinplup asked.
"Why not? It'll be fun watching her make shit up." The fire type snickered as he entered the tent. Inside was a Xatu sitting at a decorative table with a crystal ball on it. On various shelves, there were weird trinkets and devices with an unknown purposes. Monferno sat down in a wooden chair and the Xatu began to speak in an accent,
"I see you have entered my tent. Is it fate that brought you here? Or maybe it was a coincidence? Let us find out. She said in a mystical voice. Monferno rolled his eyes in annoyance,
"Yeah, yeah, get on with it." The Xatu briefly glared at Monferno but continued.
"You want to see the future? Very well, I shall grant your wish." She began to rub the crystal ball.
"If I may ask, what's with the attitude?" she asked. Monferno was quick to remark,
"I don't know, maybe 'predicting the future' isn't something that's possible. I bet even Alakazam couldn't pull that one off." Xatu glared at Monferno but didn't say anything as she returned to rubbing the crystal ball. After a moment of silence, she began her prediction with a grim expression,
"I see a very dark future for you, young man. I see a lie that consumes you and ostracizes you. I see your future self desperately trying, again and again, to fix it, only to fail every time."
For a moment, it seemed that she managed to convince him. His face grew quite serious. Then he began to laugh. Hysterical laughter left Monferno whilst Xatu seemed mortified,
"Y-You call that a prediction," he wheezed, "that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard!"
"But it's true-" she was drowned out by Monfernos mockery of her profession. Once he finally calmed down and caught his breath, Monferno leaned forward,
"You have no idea who I am, do you? I'm Son Lieyanhou! Valedictorian, musical prodigy, 3,000,000 scholarship, and one of the most popular kids in school. My life is set in stone." He mocked the flying type. Xatu calmly but firmly responded,
"I am not telling you this for money. I am telling you so you can be prepared for the inevitable. Fate can be a cruel mistress if she desires."
"Yeah, hope she's hot too." Monferno jeered at Xatu before leaving.
Flash forward a few weeks. Monferno was in history, learning about the United Regions when an announcement rang from the speakers,
"Can Monferno come down to the office immediately?" The class was curious but just shrugged it off as the fire type getting honor roll. Monferno got up with his backpack and left the class. As he walked towards the principal's office, he couldn't help but get a slight feeling of dread. He brushed it off as this was his first time going into the office for anything other than honor roll. Once Monferno arrived at the office, he waited for his name to be called. He wondered why he was here as he sat in a slightly uncomfortable chair.
"Monferno." The receptionist called out to the office waiting room. As he entered, his heart sank as he saw the school police officer standing behind the principal. The principal gestured for Monferno to sit across from him.
"Monferno, are you aware of why you are here?" The Gumshoos asked, leaving Monferno getting a really bad feeling.
"No, no I don't. Want to tell me principal Gumshoos?" In response, Gumshoos sighed and turned to the officer, a Breloom, who firmly stated,
"Monferno, you have been accused of first-degree murder and tampering of evidence."
"WHAT?!"
"Now, Monferno," Gumshoos intervened, "I want to believe that you are innocent but I need you to be honest."
"I swear on my life that I didn't kill anyone." Monferno swore to the principal.
"The victim was Granbull, a blue-collar worker."
"WHO?!"
"Calm down, Monferno, I understand that these are extreme accusations but you cannot panic. We will try our best to keep this trial quiet." Monferno took a moment to breathe and relax. When he calmed down and conceded
"Yeah, you're right. I didn't do it so it'll be an open-and-shut case. When's the trial?"
"Next month." Breloom answered, "hopefully it's as quick as you want it to be."
"We can only hope," principal Gumshoos said, "We can only hope." Meanwhile outside, a Lickitung had his ears pressed up against the door.
"Monfernoth going to court. I've gotta tell thomeone." He lisped before running out of the office.
Monferno had spent his days in a near-constant repetition. Either sit in jail and do nothing or sit on the defendant's chair while the prosecutor yelled at the jury about how evil Monferno was and how he had planned the murder. The evidence against Monferno was a security tape of the fire type dumping the body into the sewer before frantically running from the scene, clearly panicking. On the defense, he didn't have the same luck. His alibi was weak as well since he was at home studying with no way to prove it. His lawyer didn't want to lose hope yet Monferno could tell, just by his lawyer's expression, that this was an unwinnable case.
He had no clue where his mom was. It wasn't an unfamiliar feeling, but this time, it felt particularly disheartening. However, against all the odds, his lawyer found evidence that he was innocent. The camera footage was accurate but for a few seconds, just before Monferno's shadow left the camera's view, it changed into something that didn't even resemble him. The smoking gun they needed was within their grasp: Monferno didn't do it, someone was trying to frame him. In the courtroom, after a lot of explanation that sounded iffy at best, the jury hesitantly ruled that Monferno was innocent and the fire type almost cried in joy.
"So what?" Gengar interrupted, "You won the case, I don't see the problem." Ampharos glared at Gengar, who shut his mouth.
"That's not the end. I was in prison during the next part so the details might be…iffy" Infernape confessed.
Word spread rapidly throughout the school about the accusations. The news hit Prinplup and Grotle hard and yet they stood by their friend.
"I just hope this trial goes by fast," said Grotle worriedly as he and Prinplup walked down the hall.
"Don't worry," the water type comforted, "they'll find the liar and bring him to justice." As they walked, Prinplup overheard a conversation between two fellow students that infuriated the penguin Pokémon.
"Glad that murderous bastard pays for what he did."
"Yeah, I hope he rots in jail." Grotle noticed as well and quickly rushed over.
"Hey, what are you talking about? He's innocent!," He seethed at the two students, anger threatening to boil over into unrelenting rage. They looked at the grass type in disgust,
"Why are you defending that serial killer?" one of the students jeered. Prinplup managed to catch up to Grotle,
"The trial hasn't even begun." Prinplup pointed out, "There is no reason to believe he's guilty. I'll believe his innocence to my dying breath." Other voices began to join in to argue against the two,
"What do you know, huh?"
"He killed a man and he got caught. He should suffer the consequences."
"I can't believe we looked up to him." Prinplup and Grotle tried to counter against these voices but they were drowned out by a wave of hate and betrayal.
"Ha, rat bastard had it coming." Zorua scoffed, "'About time someone knocked him down a peg." Somehow, the tricky fox Pokémon managed to grab everyone's attention, earning the ire of both Prinplup and Grotle,
"Excuse me, What did you just say?!" Grotle growled at Zorua, who simply smiled back at him,
"I said it's about time someone knocked him down a peg." Prinplup was quick to intervene,
"Zorua, you don't know anything about Lee!" Grotle then piped in,
"If I find out who framed him, I swear to Arceus, I'll turn their bones into popsicle sticks!"
"O-Ok, yeah, you do that." Zorua remarked as he walked away. Prinplup then glared at Zorua but Grotle noticed something strange. Prinplup noticed that Zorua was shivering slightly. He didn't know, maybe he was ill.
During the next month, that same process would continue. The school had turned against Monferno and had no intention of changing their minds. Prinplup and Grotle were trying their best at damage control but no matter how hard they tried, nothing would sway their opinion. The trial was being publicized weekly so everyone got to see that videotape. However, in spite of seemingly insurmountable evidence, Grotle and Prinplup still believed in Monferno. They spent hours looking through the footage. They tried to find suspects. But one day, all of this would come crashing down.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, the prodigal son returns!" Monferno shouted to the student body, his voice filled with joy. "I was framed but now I'm back. WOOOOOOO!" He celebrated as the crowd of students simply stared at him in disgust. After a while, he finally noticed the lack of noise and turned to the crowd.
"Guys…I-I know that you are all stunned into silence but, he-he, cheer." Monferno said nervously. The resulting outcry deafened everything. Hundreds, if not thousands of students screaming out in pure hatred that only teenagers could manage. Obscenities filled the room, alongside various death threats. The entire building had mercilessly turned against him, their idol that they looked up to, the kid that could take the world by storm, had been turned into a demon.
Monferno sprinted out of the room and ran through the hallways. What on earth was happening? Was this a nightmare? It had to be. Yeah, he would wake up in the cell and he would return to the school and everyone would be glad to see him. That was what was supposed to happen. That was what was going to happen. Of course! That was it!
He became so lost in this delusion that he ran straight into a locker. He clutched his head in pain. However, that knocked him back into reality. He covered his ears as the screams continued, forcing him to run again. This…This was real. He had no idea what had happened but, within two months, the student body had been disillusioned and galvanized against him. Eventually, he pushed open the exit and sprinted until he could no longer run.
Alas, even the gods appeared to have turned their back on him.
This ear-bursting boom rocketed through the town, which was soon followed by this screeching and pulsing roar. Windows shattered, sending glass all over the streets. The sky turned a dark and terrifying crimson that sent a chill through your entire body. Monferno was tossed onto the dirt by the resulting shockwave. Then the screaming of hundreds of terrified citizens filled the air. He landed safely on his back, which allowed him to know what was causing it.
A small red beam shot up into the clouds from the horizon. It was as though hell had launched an attack on the heavens. Monferno started to hyperventilate, what was happening?! This…This isn't natural. This was chaos incarnate, wanton destruction, and mayhem for no reason. And how could this possibly happen? Nothing could launch a beam into the sky like this. No man nor creature could hold this much power
The fear of the unknown took over and Monferno began to run as fast as he could, wanting to just hide from it all. He ran into the alleys, passing by panicking families and terrified workers, who thankfully seemed more focused on this disaster than him, to find some good in this bedlam. Eventually, he came across a dead end. Freshly painted yet abandoned the white paint they were covering up was still visible. He was trapped, with the weight of the world on his shoulders. In a fit of rage, he screamed and cried, punching the wall repeatedly unto his knuckles bled.
The pavement beneath him drowning in his tears. "IT'S NOT FAIR!" He cried. For the first time in his life, he felt like no one would be there for him, no one would help him, and no one would care. He felt well and truly alone. He knew it wasn't his fault. He knew he had a good heart. So why was he here, alone and unwanted.
Prinplup and Grotle were already in class, Prinplup in Kalolian and Grotle in personal fitness, when they heard an explosion of noise blast through the halls. Immediately the two left their classes to find out what was happening. They rushed towards the sports lobby where the noise was loudest. They found a crowd of students yelling at the top of their lungs about Monferno. After some questions, Prinplup found out that Monferno was back and the crowd had chased him out of the lobby. The two rushed out to find Monferno hoping to comfort him.
"I see him!" Grotle shouted as he saw Monferno from an exit door window. He burst open the door and saw Monferno running away.
When that beam hit, the two were thrown back into the school. Prinplup's head slammed into the top of the door frame. He fell limp and rag-dolled onto the floor. Grotle stared at his friend's body and wanted to go help, but Lee was in pain, and who knows how bad his condition was. But…But Prinplup could be seriously hurt. It was an impossible choice. Does he go to Monferno and risk leaving Prinplup for dead, or does he stay with Prinplup and risk losing Lee? However, Grotle chose neither. He would gladly break the game to protect his brothers.
He picked Prinplup and rested him on his back. Just then, as the water type began to stir.
"TETSU!" Grotle screamed in worry. However, Prinplup simply demanded,
"Lee's…more important. He needs help, now!"
After giving chase to Monferno and getting lost, they finally caught up with him. The two slowly approached the sobbing fire type,
"Monferno, it's okay. Grotle and I are here for you." Prinplup comforted. Monferno's sobbing stopped, causing the two to stop moving. The tears on the pavement began to evaporate,
"Where were you?" He demanded, voice filled with poison. Prinplup was worried,"W-What are you talking about?"
"WHERE WERE YOU?!" Monferno yelled at the two, turning around to face his friends, his irises red. "WHERE WERE YOU DURING THE TRIAL?! WHEN THE SCHOOL DECIDED I WAS GUILTY?!" Grotle was quick to respond,
"WE WERE TRYING TO HELP!"
"BULLSHIT, IF YOU WERE, THE SCHOOL WOULDN'T HAVE TURNED ON ME! Prinplup tried to get a word in but had to yell to be heard,
"THEY WOULD NOT LISTEN!" Monferno stood his ground, the tears evaporating before they even hit the sidewalk.
"I TRUSTED YOU TWO, YOU WERE BY BEST FRIENDS AND YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE."
"WE AREN'T LYING, MONFERNO!"
"IS THIS JUST SOME KIND OF JOKE?! DON'T LIE TO ME, PLEASE! THEY BELIEVE, YOU BELIEVE IT, STOP PRETENDING LIKE YOU DON'T!" Prinplup took a breath to collect his thoughts and calmly asked,
"Monferno, I understand that you are going through a lot, but can you listen to us?"
"NO! Leave me alone. I thought you were my friends." Monferno cried out, running away from the two. Prinplup and Grotle tried to follow him but Monferno threw a massive ball of flame to cut them off, separating them. Their cries out to him fell on deaf ears as he ran further and further away from the school. Suddenly, the words of the soothsayer came back to him
"I see a very dark future for you, young man. I see a lie that consumes you, that ostracizes you. I see your future self desperately trying, again and again, to fix it, only to fail every time." Monferno stopped again in a familiar location. The playground, where they used to play. God, how long had it been since he'd been here. He collapsed onto his knees and whimpered,
"S-She was right. The prediction came true and now everyone hates me. D-Does that mean that fate is real and if that's the case then..." he stopped himself. He would have started crying again but he had run out of tears. He sat down on the floor and buried his face in his hands, sadness overwhelming him.
He remained there for hours, all alone.
Ampharos and Gengar stared at the fire type. Ampharos couldn't even imagine that happening to him. The thought of everything you've ever known being taken away from you when you did nothing wrong shook him to his core. Like someone who was fired because of who they were. Ampharos looked at Infernape and sat down alongside him. He opened his mouth but closed it quickly.
"I'm...sorry that happened to you." he comforted as he patted Infernape on the back. Gengar was silent, his glare went to the floor.
"I don't know what to do." Infernape confessed.
"So?" Gengar questioned. Ampharos and Infernape looked up at the ghost type, who had a very subtle grin and was pinching himself. Ampharos was angry, or at least, as angry as he could be,
"W-What do you mean, 'so'?"
"I mean, what does all of that matter now? What happened to you was horrible, but that doesn't matter now. Stop living in the past. This isn't living safely. This is giving up." he paused for a moment to collect his thoughts, "Would you rather live knowing you could've done something?"
Infernape was touched by his words. His words had this surreal sense of genuineness that couldn't be replicated, as well as, strangely, an almost preventative tone. It was as though Gengar had a second message hidden underneath that first one. But his fate was sealed. He was doomed to a life as a failure. Every endeavor he would ever attempt would fall apart. Xatu said so, and she had been right so far…but was there a chance?
Gengar and Ampharos looked worriedly at Infernape. They then overheard Infernape say something to himself,
"What would Torterra and Empoleon do?" The two looked at each other worriedly, when Infernape stood up.
"If I'm gonna die, I'll die a hero." he declared.
Ampharos and Gengar smiled,
"YES!" Gengar celebrated. Ampharos just nervously nodded. They walked passed Scizor and his family,
"Stay here." commanded Infernape, "If we don't come back, run as fast and as far away as you can." Gengar then handed them their invisible jackets.
"W-What do you mean?' Scyther questioned worriedly. No one answered, they were all determined. Ampharos to save his town, Gengar for fun, and Infernape to save Gardevoir and himself.
